  • In actual statistical surveys, the inconsistencies within the record are often occurred due to incorrect response. The users may be confused and statistical agencies may have a problem of reliability on statistical data in this case. It is needed to detect and correct the unconvinced record without any special reasons. However, it is not simple to determine which item should be corrected in every failed record. In this paper we briefly introduce Fellegi-Holt method, apply to a business survey, and then discuss the problems for this trial editing.

  • A Markov Chain Monte Carlo method is developed to compute the software reliability model. We consider computation problem for determining of posterior distibution in Bayseian inference. Metropolis algorithms along with Gibbs sampling are proposed to preform the Bayesian inference of the Mixed model with record value statistics. For model determiniation, we explored the prequential conditional predictive ordinate criterion that selects the best model with the largest posterior likelihood among models using all possible subsets of the component intensity functions. To relax the monotonic intensity function assumptions. A numerical example with simulated data set is given.

  • There is no progress in interpreting the correlation between the high school record and the scholastic aptitude test. This study gives the degree of the linearity between the high school record and the scholastic aptitude test by using the method of the individual scholastic evaluation which was proposed by Chung(1999). The limits of the individual scholastic evaluation are pointed out additionally in inferring the promising individuals having the high scores in the scholastic aptitude test so that the individual scholastic evaluation be used as reference materials when the colleges applying the comparative school record in the entrance exams.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of nursing record education on the knowledge and performance of nursing record of nurses at small- and medium-sized hospitals. Methods: The participants were 62 nurses working in two small- and medium-sized hospitals. Thirty-two nurses comprised the experimental group, and 30 nurses comprised the control group. Nursing record education was provided for the experimental group. Data were analyzed by x2-test and t-test analysis using the IBM SPSS statistics 25.0 Program. Results: After education, the knowledge (t=2.43, p=.019), performance (t=2.19, p=.033) and behavior scores (t=2.42, p=.018) on nursing record were significantly higher in the experimental group than in the control group. Based on this result, nursing record education is an effective intervention to improve nurses' knowledge and performance in writing nursing records in small- and medium-sized hospitals. Conclusion: We suggest the development of a systematic and standardized education program on nursing record including its legal aspects, for nurses in small- and medium-sized hospitals. The results of this study can be used as basic data for developing a nursing record education program for small- and medium-sized hospitals.

  • This study was conducted in order to examine the quantity of health and medical statistics survey in Medical Records Offices which was required by outside institutions and whether it is profitable for the hospitals or not. The thirteen outside institutions required health and medical statistics of the 24 types of the survey to Medical Records Offices. 16.7% of health and medical statistics of the survey was paid to medical records offices such as the National Cancer Registration Survey, Patient Survey, Tuberculosis Patient Survey, and Hospital Discharge Patients Injury Survey. Medical Records Offices' total length of time for the health and medical statistics survey was over 200 hours per year like the National Cancer Registration Survey, Healthcare Accreditation System and Hospital Discharge Patients Injury Survey. The Medical Record Administrators in the hospitals with fewer than 500 beds work full time from 1 to 3. It is indicated in the study that it is necessary to improve the health and medical statistics survey system in Medical Records Offices required by the outside institutions and to employ additional Medical Record Administrator for more accurate Health and Medical Statistics Survey.

  • In this paper, we derive exact explicit expressions for the triple and quadruple moments of the lower record values from inverse the Weibull (IW) distribution. Next, we present and calculate the coefficients of the best linear unbiased estimates of the location and scale parameters of IW distribution (BLUEs) for different choices of the shape parameter and records size. We then use the higher order moments and the calculated BLUEs to compute the mean, variance, and the coefficients of skewness and kurtosis of certain linear functions of lower record values. By using the coefficients of the skewness and kurtosis, we develop approximate confidence intervals for the location and scale parameters of the IW distribution using Edgeworth approximate values and then compare them with the corresponding intervals constructed through Monte Carlo simulations. Finally, we apply the findings of the paper to some simulated data.

  • The points of failure of a decomposition process are defined to be the union of the points of failure from two component point processes for software reliability systems. Because sampling from the likelihood function of the decomposition model is difficulty, Gibbs Sampler can be applied in a straightforward manner. A Markov Chain Monte Carlo method with data augmentation is developed to compute the features of the posterior distribution. For model determination, we explored the prequential conditional predictive ordinate criterion that selects the best model with the largest posterior likelihood among models using all possible subsets of the component intensity functions. A numerical example with a simulated data set is given.

  • This paper computes the repurchase index based on statistical modeling. Using the transaction record of a certain product, the repurchase index is obtained by fitting the Poisson regression model. The customers are classified into 5 groups based on the index giving the information about the propensity to repurchase.

  • The Committee has, for the 9th consecutive year, compiled statistics of embryos collected and transferred worldwide. Geographically, all regions have participated in the survey; however, there are still some places where it has been impossible to retrieve such data (particularly in Asia). The statistics, therefore, are partially underestimated. By contrast, in other areas, the system has proven to be more efficient than before, particularly in North and South America. This has resulted in the present report, which gives a somewhat more satisfactory picture of the current situation of the ET industry. For the second year, it has also been possible to collect data for several species other than cattle. In cattle, the number of in vivo-derived embryos collected and transferred has once again increased with more than half a million embryos trans-ferred in 1999(520,712), a new record. The number of bovine in vitro-produced embryos has remained stable this year as compared with the previous year(approximately 30,000 embryos transferred). However, there are still teams that have not Yet reported their data. More than 10,000 embryos in each of the ovine and caprine species and close to 2,000 cervid embryos were reported transferred in 1999. Some 500 embryos of the equine species and a few thousand in the porcine and rabbit species have also been transferred in 1999. It is concluded that the ET industry continues to be very active, and, in many species, it encompasses a larger segment of the livestock population overall, which is to the farmer s benefit.
