보강섬유의 표면처리에 따른 섬유보강 고강도콘크리트와 CFRP 보강근의 부착특성 (Bond Properties of CFRP Rebar in Fiber Reinforced High Strength Concrete with Surface Treatment Methods of Reinforcing Fibers)

  • 본 연구에서는 CFRP 보강근과 고강도콘크리트의 부착강도에 미치는 보강섬유의 표면처리 방법의 효과를 평가하였다. 표면을 친수성 물질로 코팅된 구조용 PVA 섬유 및 기하학적 변형으로 변형된 절곡형 폴리올레핀계 구조용 합성섬유를 보강섬유로 사용하였다. 섬유의 표면처리 방법에 따른 고강도콘크리트의 강도특성을 평가하기 위하여 압축강도 실험을 실시하였다. 고강도콘크리트와 CFRP 보강근 사이의 부착특성은 직접 부착강도시험을 의하여 평가하였다. 시험 결과는 섬유의 표면처리 방법은 고강도콘크리트와 CFRP 보강근 사이의 부착거동에 영향을 미쳤다. 또한 고강도콘크리트에 섬유의 첨가는 할렬균열의 발생 및 성장을 조절함으로써 고강도콘크리트와 CFRP 보강근 사이의 부착거동, 부착강도 및 상대부착강도의 증가시켰다.

Experimental research on the behavior of circular SFRC columns reinforced longitudinally by GFRP rebars

  • This research presents the experimental and theoretical evaluations on circular steel-fiber-reinforced-concrete (SFRC) columns reinforced by glass-fiber-reinforced-polymer (GFRP) rebar under the axial compressive loading. Test programs were designed to investigate and compare the effect of different parameters on the structural behavior of columns by performing tests. Theses variables included conventional concrete (CC), fiber concrete (FC), steel/GFRP longitudinal rebars, and transversal rebars configurations. A total of 16 specimens were constructed and categorized into four groups in terms of different rebar-concrete configurations, including GFRP-rebar-reinforced-CC columns (GRCC), GFRP-rebar-reinforced-FC columns (GRFC), steel-rebar-reinforced-CC columns (SRCC) and steel-rebar- reinforced-FC columns (SRFC). Experimental observations displayed that failure modes and cracking patterns of four groups of columns were similar, especially in pre-peak branches of load-deflection curves. Although the average ultimate axial load of columns with longitudinal GFRP rebars was obtained by 17.9% less than the average ultimate axial load of columns with longitudinal steel rebars, the average axial ductility index (DI) of them was gained by 10.2% higher than their counterpart columns. Adding steel fibers (SFs) into concrete led to the increases of 7.7% and 6.7% of the axial peak load and the DI of columns than their counterpart columns with CC. The volumetric ratio had greater efficiency on peak loads and DIs of columns than the type of transversal reinforcement. A simple analytical equation was proposed to predict the axial compressive capacity of columns by considering the axial involvement of longitudinal GFRP rebars, volumetric ratio, and steel spiral/hoop rebar. There was a good correlation between test results and predictions of the proposed equation.

EVA와 초조강시멘트를 사용한 폴리머 시멘트 슬러리 도장철근의 부착강도에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Bond Strength of Coated Rebar by Polymer Cement Slurry Made of EVA and Ultra High-Early Strength Cement)

  • 본 연구는 EVA와 초조강시멘트로 만든 폴리머 시멘트 슬러리(PCS)로 도장한 도장철근의 부착강도 개선에 영향을 미치는 PCS 도장재 배합에 관한 연구로 도장두께, 폴리머 시멘트비, 도장재의 양생재령을 변화시켜 배합을 설정하여 부착강도 시험을 실시하였다. 본 연구결과, PCS 도장철근의 부착강도는 거의 모든 배합에서 도장하지 않은 보통철근 및 에폭시철근에 비해 높은 부착강도를 나타냈는데 도장철근의 최대 부착강도는 보통철근에 비해 1.32배, 에폭시철근에 비해 1.38배 높게 나타났다. 도장두께는 대체로 얇은 도장두께인 $75{\mu}m$$100{\mu}m$에서 부착강도가 높게 나타났으며 폴리머 시멘트비에 따른 영향은 크게 나타나지 않았으나, 내구성면에서 폴리머 시멘트비를 80~100% 범위를 확보하는 것을 제안할 수 있었다. 또한 도장재의 양생재령에 있어서는 7일에서 가장 높은 부착강도를 나타냈으나, 재령 1일에 있어서도 보통철근과 에폭시철근에 비해 높은 부착강도를 보여 현장 시공성 측면에서 1일 재령을 제안 할 수 있었다.

Distribution of Cathodic Protection Potential for Concrete Slab Specimens at Diverse Environmental Conditions

  • This study represents the recent laboratory results from cathodic protection (CP) system with the use of sacrificial anodes at different environmental conditions (temperature of $10^{\circ}C$ and $40^{\circ}C$). Specimens were slab type with a dimension of $500mm{\times}50mm{\times}100mm$, and concrete cover thickness were 25mm. Zinc mesh and/or bulk type anodes were installed at the center of specimen to confirm the distance that CP system has influences on the specimen to distribute uniform CP current to rebar. Two different kinds of temperature condition were applied to verify the effect of temperature. Experiments were conducted for 60 days, and the distribution of potential and current that supplied from anode to rebar was measured. From the results, CP potential was varied with time, and temperature played an important role in CP potential variations. Current was also changed with time, and current distribution could be improved by installing additional bulk type anode.

Bonding between high strength rebar and reactive powder concrete

  • A central pullout test was conducted to investigate the bonding properties between high strength rebar and reactive powder concrete (RPC), which covered ultimate pullout load, ultimate bonding stress, free end initial slip, free end slip at peak load, and load-slip curve characteristics. The effects of varying rebar buried length, thickness of protective layer and diameter of rebars on the bonding properties were studied, and how to determine the minimum thickness of protective layer and critical anchorage length was suggested according the test results. The results prove that: 1) Ultimate pull out load and free end initial slip load increases with increase in buried length, while ultimate bonding stress and slip corresponding to the peak load reduces. When buried length is increased from 3d to 4d(d is the diameter of rebar), after peak load, the load-slip curve descending segment declines faster, but later the load rises again exceeding the first peak load. When buried length reaches 5d, rebar pull fracture occurs. 2) As thickness of protective layer increases, the ultimate pull out load, ultimate bond stress, free end initial slip load and the slip corresponding to the peak load increase, and the descending section of the curve becomes gentle. The recommended minimum thickness of protective layer for plate type members should be the greater value between d and 10 mm, and for beams or columns the greater value between d and 15 mm. 3) Increasing the diameter of HRB500 rebars leads to a gentle slope in the descending segment of the pullout curve. 4) The bonding properties between high strength steel HRB500 and RPC is very good. The suggested buried length for test determining bonding strength between high strength rebars and RPC is 4d and a formula to calculate the critical anchorage length is established. The relationships between ultimate bonding stress and thickness of protective layer or the buried length was obtained.

  • In this study, the optimum amount of chloride ions is used to collaborate with hybrid corrosion inhibitor for carbon steel rebar treatment in simulated pore concrete (SCP) solution is discovered. The corrosion inhibition performance of hybrid inhibitors is carried on by open circuit potential (OCP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and potentiodynamic polarization (PP). The highest corrosion inhibition resistance is found in case of LP-C2 after 240 h exposure. Surface studies including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were used to figure out the surface morphology of the steel rebar treated with hybrid inhibitors in order to collaborate well with electrochemical studies. Anodic type inhibition action was confirmed by potentiodynamic polarization study.

  • In this study, the optimum amount of hybrid inhibitors i.e. L-Arginine (LA) and sodium phosphate tribasic dodecahydrate (SP), applied for carbon steel rebar in simulated pore concrete (SCP) solution contaminated with 3.5 wt.% NaCl, was discovered. The corrosion inhibition performance of hybrid inhibitors was investigated by open circuit potential (OCP), electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and potentiodynamic polarization. The highest corrosion inhibition efficiency was found as 99.52% corresponding to 2% LA and 0.25% SP after 210 h exposure. Anodic type inhibition action was confirmed by potentiodynamic polarization study. Surface studies including scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and atomic force microscopy (AFM) were used to figure out the surface morphology of the steel rebar treated with hybrid inhibitors in order to collaborate with electrochemical studies.

콘크리트 구조체 매입 철근의 직경 및 유형별 앵커력 측정실험 연구 (An Experimental Study on the Anchorage Capacity by Diameter and Anchor Type of Re-bar)

  • Construction equipment such as tower crane should be installed in a field without appropriate anchorage to cause a collapse of crane. The anchorage capacity can be varied with Anchor length, concrete strength, anchor diameter, hooked or non hooked these variables will be made and tested in the study. It is shown what anchorage capacity will be more effective case by case. Hooked and non-hooked rebar anchor concrete weight with dia 22mm rebar are shown with initial displacement at 170~220KN of hooked case and 200~210KN of non-hooked one which are linearly increased, without any ductility behavior with almost brittleness. Three(3) same test pieces are almost similarly behaviored without relation to hooked or non-hooked cases. It is found out that the bigger diameter of rebar becomes, the more resistant capacity could be made, but conversely ductility against sudden collapse similar to brittleness becomes the more insufficient. It is also found out that dia 16mm rebar could be more effectively applied to heavy support weight at construction sites.

콘크리트 보강용 FRP 보강근의 내구성 설계를 위한 환경영향계수의 제안 (Recommendations of Environmental Reduction Factor of FRP Rebar for Durability Design of Concrete Structure)

  • 철근콘크리트 구조물의 주요 파괴 원인은 철근의 부식에 의한 것으로 철근의 부식에 대한 문제점을 해결할 가능성이 있는 재료 중 FRP 보강근은 그 가능성이 높다. 그렇지만 이와 같은 FRP 보강근은 보강철근과 다른 파괴 메카니즘에 의하여 현저하게 성능이 저하될 가능성을 가지고 있다. 이와 같은 환경에는 알칼리 환경 등이 있다. 따라서 미국, 일본 캐나다 등 많은 나라에서는 환경영향계수를 사용하고 있다. 그렇지만 환경영향계수는 각 나라마다 다르게 적용되고 있는데 이는 FRP 보강근에 대한 장기거동에 대하여 명확한 기준이 제시되어 있지 않기 때문이다. 본 연구에서는 FRP 보강근의 환경영향계수를 제안하는데 그 목표를 두고 있다. 환경영향계수는 내구성 시험결과를 기본으로 하여 결정하였다. FRP 보강근은 알칼리 산 염해 등을 포함한 환경조건에 노출하였다. FRP 보강근은 간단한 질량변화를 측정하여 수분흡수 거동을 평가하였으며 역학적 특성의 변화는 인장, 압축 및 전단시험을 통하여 평가하였다. 시험결과를 기본으로하여 하이브리드 FRP 보강근(A)와 (C) 및 CFRP 보강근은 환경영향계수를 0.85로 결정하였고 하이브리드 FRP 보강근(B) 및 GFRP 보강근은 0.70으로 결정하였다.

  • From the development of residential flat plate system, continuously bended shear reinforcements were applied in the joint performance test. The testing parameters are shear reinforcement types, which are no reinforcement, studrail reinforcement, and rebar type reinforcement. To verify the lateral resisting capacity, cyclic load is applied in the constant vertical load condition. From the test results, the resisting capacity of developed shear reinforcement system has a good performance behavior in the story drift ratio.
