  • The structured singular value (${\mu}$) analysis based method has many advantages for the robust stability analysis of missiles with uncertain parameters. Nevertheless, the present linear fractional transformation (LFT) modeling process, which is the basis of ${\mu}$ analysis, is complex, and not suitable for automatic implementation; on the other hand, ${\mu}$ analysis requires a large amount of computation, which is a burden for large-scale application. A constructive procedure, which is computationally more efficient, and which may lead to a lower order realization than existing algorithms, is proposed for LFT modeling. To reduce the calculation burden, an analysis method is developed, based on skew ${\mu}$. On this basis, calculation of the supremum of ${\mu}$ over a fixed frequency range converts into a single skew ${\mu}$ value calculation. Two algorithms are given, to calculate the upper and lower bounds of skew ${\mu}$, respectively. The validity of the proposed method is verified through robust stability analysis of a missile with real uncertain parameters.

  • In practical engineering, the uncertain concept plays an important role in the control problems of the vibration structures. In this paper, based on matrix perturbation theory and interval finite element method, the closed-loop vibration control system with uncertain parameters is discussed. A new method is presented to develop an algorithm to estimate the upper and lower bounds of the real parts and imaginary parts of the complex eigenvalues of vibration control systems. The results are derived in terms of physical parameters. The present method is implemented for a vibration control system of the frame structure. To show the validity and effectiveness, we compare the numerical results obtained by the present method with those obtained by the classical random perturbation.

  • In this paper, it is presented an adaptive robust control system to implement real-time control of a robot manipulator. There are Quantitative or qualitative differences between a real robot manipulator and a robot modeling. In order to compensate these differences, uncertain factors are added to a robot modeling. The uncertain factors come from imperfect knowledge of system parameters, payload change, friction, external disturbance, etc. Also, uncertainty is often nonlinear and time-varying. In the proceeding work, we proposed a class of robust control of a robot manipulator and provided the stability analysis. In the work, we propose a class of adaptive robust control of robot manipulator with bound estimation. Through experiments, the proposed adaptive robust control scheme is proved to be an efficient control technique for real-time control of a robot system using DSP.

  • This paper presents design of the quantitative feedback control system of the three axes hydraulic road simulator with respect to the dummy wheel for uncertain multiple input-output(MIMO) feedback systems. This simulator has the uncertain parameters such as fluid compressibility, fluid leakage, electrical servo components and nonlinear mechanical connections. This works have reproduced the random input signal to implement the real road vibration's data in the lab. The replaced $m^2$ MISO equivalent control systems satisfied the design specifications of the original $m^*m$ MIMO control system and developed the mathematical method using quantitative feedback theory based on schauder's fixed point theorem. This control system illustrates a tracking performance of the closed-loop controller with low order transfer function G(s) and pre-filter F(s) having the minimum bandwidth for parameters of uncertain plant. The efficacy of the designed controller is verified through the dynamic simulation with combined hydraulic model and Adams simulator model. The Matlab simulation results to connect with Adams simulator model show that the proposed control technique works well under uncertain hydraulic plant system. The designed control system has satisfied robust performance with stability bounds, tracking bounds and disturbance. The Hydraulic road simulator consists of the specimen, hydraulic pump, servo valve, hydraulic actuator and its control equipments

  • This paper describes the design of an output-feedback controller based on an adaptive fuzzy observer for uncertain single-input single-output nonlinear dynamical systems. Especially, we have focused on the realization of minimal dynamic order of the adaptive fuzzy observer. For the purpose, we propose a new method in which no strictly positive real(SPR) condition is needed and combine dynamic rule activation scheme with on-line estimation of fuzzy parameters. By using proposed scheme, we can reduce computation time, storage space, and dynamic order of the adaptive fuzzy observer ...

  • In many cases of robust stability problems, the characteristic polynomial has real coefficients which or nonlinear functions of uncertain parameters. For this set of polynomials, a new stability easily checking algorithm for reducing the conservatism of the stability bound are given. It is the new stability theorem to determine the stability region just in parameter space. Illustrative example show that the presented method has larger stability bound in uncertain parameter space than others.

  • A novel combinatorial type-2 adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (T2-ANFIS) and robust proportional integral derivative (PID) control framework for intelligent vibration mitigation of uncertain structural system is introduced. The fuzzy logic controllers (FLCs), are designed independently of the mathematical model of the system. The type-1 FLCs, have a limited ability to reduce the effect of uncertainty, due to their fuzzy sets with a crisp degree of membership. In real applications, the consequent part of the fuzzy rules is uncertain. The type-2 FLCs, are robust to the fuzzy rules and the process parameters due to the fuzzy degree of membership functions and footprint of uncertainty (FOU). The adaptivity of the proposed method is provided with the optimum tuning of the parameters using the neural network training algorithms. In our approach, the PID control force is obtained using the generalized type-2 neuro-fuzzy in such a way that the stability and robustness of the controller are guaranteed. The robust performance and stability of the presented framework are demonstrated in a numerical study for an eleven-story seismically-excited building structure combined with an active tuned mass damper (ATMD). The results indicate that the introduced type-2 neuro-fuzzy PID control scheme is effective to attenuate plant states in the presence of the structured and unstructured uncertainties, compared to the conventional, type-1 FLC, type-2 FLC, and type-1 neuro-fuzzy PID controllers.

  • Aperiodicity of interval polynomials is studied. Aperiodicity is normally defined as a property such that all the roots are simple and negative real, while interval polynomials are referred to as polynomials with coefficients lying within specified closed intervals on the real axis. Several conditions for aperiodicity, including an exact one, are derived. Comments on them are given in contrast to the work by Soh and Berger, who also considered the problem with a modified definition of aperiodicity.

  • The discovered high potential utility itemsets (HPUIs) have significant influence on a variety of areas, such as retail marketing, web click analysis, and biological gene analysis. Thus, in this paper, we propose an algorithm called HPUIM-QGA (Mining high potential utility itemsets based on a quantum genetic algorithm) to mine HPUIs over uncertain datasets based on a quantum genetic algorithm (QGA). The proposed algorithm not only can handle the problem of the non-downward closure property by developing an upper bound of the potential utility (UBPU) (which prunes the unpromising itemsets in the early stage) but can also handle the problem of combinatorial explosion by introducing a QGA, which finds optimal solutions quickly and needs to set only very few parameters. Furthermore, a pruning strategy has been designed to avoid the meaningless and redundant itemsets that are generated in the evolution process of the QGA. As proof of the HPUIM-QGA, a substantial number of experiments are performed on the runtime, memory usage, analysis of the discovered itemsets and the convergence on real-life and synthetic datasets. The results show that our proposed algorithm is reasonable and acceptable for mining meaningful HPUIs from uncertain datasets.

  • Most of the multimedia applications require strict quality of service (QoS) guarantee during the communication between a single source and multiple destinations. This gives rise to the need for an efficient QoS multicast routing strategy. Determination of such QoS-based optimal multicast routes basically leads to a multi-objective optimization problem, which is computationally intractable in polynomial time due to the uncertainty of resources in Internet. This paper describes a network model for researching the routing problem and proposes a new multicast tree selection algorithm based on genetic algorithms to simultaneously optimize multiple QoS parameters. The paper mainly presents a QoS multicast routing algorithm based on genetic algorithm (QMRGA). The QMRGA can also optimize the network resources such as bandwidth and delay, and can converge to the optimal or near-optimal solution within few iterations, even for the networks environment with uncertain parameters. The incremental rate of computational cost can close to polynomial and is less than exponential rate. The performance measures of the QMRGA are evaluated using simulations. The simulation results show that this approach has fast convergence speed and high reliability. It can meet the real-time requirement in multimedia communication networks.
