Plasma Impedance Monitoring with Real-time Cluster Analysis for RF Plasma Etching Endpoint Detection of Dielectric Layers

  • Etching endpoint detection with plasma impedance monitoring (PIM) is demonstrated for small area dielectric layers inductive coupled plasma etching. The endpoint is determined by the impedance harmonic signals variation from the I-V monitoring system. Measuring plasma impedance has been examined as a relatively simple method of detecting variations in plasma and surface conditions without contamination at low cost. Cluster analysis algorithm is modified and applied to real-time endpoint detection for sensitivity enhancement in this work. For verification, the detected endpoint by PIM and real-time cluster analysis is compared with widely used optical emission spectroscopy (OES) signals. The proposed technique shows clear improvement of sensitivity with significant noise reduction when it is compared with OES signals. This technique is expected to be applied to various plasma monitoring applications including fault detections as well as end point detection.

  • In this paper, the target simulator for RF signals was developed by using VST(Vector Signal Transceiver) and set by real-time signal processing SW programs. A function to process RF signals using FPGA(Field Programmable Gate Array) board was designed. The system functions capable of data processing, raw signals monitoring, target signals(simulated range, velocity) generating and RF environments data analyzing were implemented. And the characteristics of modulated signal were analyzed in RF environment. All function of programs for processing RF signal have options to store signal data and to manage the data. The validity of the signal simulation was confirmed through verification of simulated signal results.

  • This study developed a real-time spacecraft pose estimation algorithm that combined a deep learning model and the least-squares method. Pose estimation in space is crucial for automatic rendezvous docking and inter-spacecraft communication. Owing to the difficulty in training deep learning models in space, we showed that actual experimental results could be predicted through software simulations on the ground. We integrated deep learning with nonlinear least squares (NLS) to predict the pose from a single spacecraft image in real time. We constructed a virtual environment capable of mass-producing synthetic images to train a deep learning model. This study proposed a method for training a deep learning model using pure synthetic images. Further, a visual-based real-time estimation system suitable for use in a flight testbed was constructed. Consequently, it was verified that the hardware experimental results could be predicted from software simulations with the same environment and relative distance. This study showed that a deep learning model trained using only synthetic images can be sufficiently applied to real images. Thus, this study proposed a real-time pose estimation software for automatic docking and demonstrated that the method constructed with only synthetic data was applicable in space.

실시간 화상 수업 환경에서 소프트웨어 실습 교육에 대한 초등학생 및 교사의 만족도 분석 (Analysis of Satisfaction of Elementary School Students and Teachers for Software Practice Education in Real-Time Video Classes)

  • 본 연구에서는 초등학생 5, 6학년을 대상으로 소프트웨어 실습 교육과정을 실시간 화상 수업으로 운영한 후 학습자 만족도와 교사 심층 인터뷰를 분석하였다. 학습자의 실재감, 수업전반, 상호작용, 실시간 화상 수업 만족도의 상관관계를 분석한 결과 실재감, 수업전반, 상호작용, 실시간 화상 수업 만족도는 다소 높은 정적인 상관관계가 있는 것으로 나타났고, 실시간 화상 수업 참여환경과 수업 만족도 사이에는 약간의 차이가 있었지만 모두 통계적으로는 유의하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 교사의 경우 학생들의 개인별 PC 환경 및 수업 교구에서 발생하는 문제, 모둠 활동에서 학생들간의 상호작용, 부진 학생에 대한 개별 피드백에 상대적으로 어려움을 느끼고 있었다. 이를 해결하기 위해 실시간 화상 수업 참여환경에 대한 사전 안내, 수업 교구의 사전 점검 안내문 및 예비부품 제공, 보조강사를 활용한 부진 학생 및 접속 오류 지원, LMS를 활용한 개별 과제 피드백 실시 등에 대한 의견을 제시하였다.

구조로봇에 적합한 장애물 회피 알고리즘 ELA의 실험적 검증 (Experimental Verification of Obstacle Avoidance Algorithm ELA Applicable to Rescue Robots)

  • In this paper, we provide experimental results and verification for obstacle avoidance algorithm 'ELA(Emergency Level Around)', which is applicable to rescue robots. ELA is a low level intelligence-based obstacle avoidance algorithm, so can be used in fast mobile robots requiringhigh speed in operation with little computational load. Constructed system for experiments consist of laptop, sensors, peripheral devices and mobile robot platform VSTR(Variable Single-tracked Robot) to realize predetermined scenarios. Finally, experiment was conducted in indoor surroundings including miscellaneous things as well as dark environment to show fitness and robustness of ELA for rescue, and it is shown that VSTR navigates endowed area well with real-time obstacle avoidance based on ELA. Therefore, it is concluded that ELA can be a candidate algorithm to increase mobility of rescue robots in real situation.

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대용 회전 유도탄 체계의 모델링과 성능분석에 사용할 수 있는 실시간 병렬처리 시뮬레이터 개발에 대하여 기술한다. 실시간 병렬처리 시뮬레이터는 항공기의 적외선 형상을 만드는 탐색기 에뮬레이터, 실시간 컴퓨터, 시스템 유닛. 유도 조종 장치 및 탐색기 프로세서 등과 같은 하드웨어 실물장치와 실시간 컴퓨터에 내장된 수학적 모델, 6 자유도 모델 및 공력 모델 등을 구현한 응용 소프트웨어 및 호스트 컴퓨터에 내장된 사용자 프로그램 등으로 구성되었다. 실시간 컴퓨터는 병렬로 연결된 여섯 개의 TI사 C-40 프로세서로 설계되었으며, 기계적 장치와 결합된 아날로그 전자회로를 이용하여 탐색기 에뮬레이터를 설계하였다. 시스템 유닛은 구성 요소간의 임피던스 정합 기능과 미세 신호를 처리하며, 시뮬레이터와 실물 유도탄 발사 장치의 연결이 가능하다. 개발된 실시간 병렬처리 시뮬레이터를 휴대용 회전 유도탄의 성능분석 장치로 사용하기 위하여 현장실험을 통한 결과 검증시험을 수행하였다.

화자 인증 기능이 포함된 실시간 원격 도어락 제어 시스템 개발에 관한 연구 (Study on development of the remote control door lock system including speeker verification function in real time)

  • 본 논문에서는 휴대폰을 이용하여 방문자의 음성이나 영상을 원격으로 확인할 수 있는 시스템을 설계 및 구현한다 이 시스템은 주인이 집에 없을 때라도 휴대폰으로 단문 메시지가 아닌 자동 호출 서비스를 통해 방문자가 누구인지를 알 수 있도록 설계되어 있다. 일반적으로 도어락은 홈 서버를 통해 제어되지만, 실시간 측면에서 볼 때 DTMF 신호를 이용하여 도어락을 제어하는 것이 더 효율적이다. 본 논문에서 제시하는 기술은 손님이 집에 방문하였을 경우 주인이 외출 중이더라도 시스템을 통해 주인의 휴대폰에 자동으로 전차하여 음성 및 영상으로 손님과 주인간에 통화를 가능하게 하고, 필요 시 주인이 도어락을 원거리에서 제어할 수 있게 한다. 이를 통해 주인은 방문자 확인 및 도어락 제어에 시간과 공간의 제약을 받지 않는다. 또한 휴대폰 분실 시 발생할 수 있는 보안상의 악영향을 고려하여 도어락 제어 및 환경 설정 시에 필요한 인증 절차를 기존의 패스워드 형태에서 패스워드 및 화자 인증의 혼합 형태로 설계하여 보안 체계를 향상시킨다. 그리고, 통화중에 DTMF 신호를 사용하여 도어락을 실 시간적으로 제어함으로써 도어락 제어를 위해 망에 재 접속해야 하는 기존의 문제점을 해결토록 한다.

SVM-Based Speaker Verification System for Match-on-Card and Its Hardware Implementation

  • Using biometrics to verify a person's identity has several advantages over the present practice of personal identification numbers (PINs) and passwords. To gain maximum security in a verification system using biometrics, the computation of the verification as well as the storing of the biometric pattern has to take place in a smart card. However, there is an open issue of integrating biometrics into a smart card because of its limited resources (processing power and memory space). In this paper, we propose a speaker verification algorithm using a support vector machine (SVM) with a very few features, and implemented it on a 32-bit smart card. The proposed algorithm can reduce the required memory space by a factor of more than 100 and can be executed in real-time. Also, we propose a hardware design for the algorithm on a field-programmable gate array (FPGA)-based platform. Based on the experimental results, our SVM solution can provide superior performance over typical speaker verification solutions. Furthermore, our FPGA-based solution can achieve a speed-up of 50 times over a software-based solution.

  • In this paper, we developed a temperature measurement system based on an infrared temperature imaging module for thermal safety verification of a plasma skin treatment device (PSTD). We tested a pilot product of the low-temperature PSTD using the system, and the temperature increase of each plasma torch was well-monitored in real-time. Additionally, through the approximation of the temperature increase of the plasma torches, a certain limitation of the plasma treatment time on skin was established with the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) guideline. We determined an appropriate plasma treatment time ($T_{Safe}$ < 24 minutes) using the configured temperature measurement system. We believe that the temperature measurement system has a potential to be employed for testing thermal safety and suitability of various medical devices and industrial instruments.

  • This paper describes on the real-time monitoring of dredging information for grab bucket dredger equipped with winch control sensors and differential global positioning system(DGPS) using electronic chart display and information system(ECDIS). The experiment was carried out at Gwangyang Hang and Gangwon-do Oho-ri on board M/V Kunwoong G-16. ECDIS system monitors consecutively the dredging's position, heading and shooting point of grab bucket in real-time through 3 DGPS attached to the top bridge of the dredger and crane frame. Dredging depth was measured by 2 up/down counter fitted with crane winch of the dredger. The depth and area of dredging in each shooting point of grab bucket are displayed in color band. The efficiency of its operation can be ensured by adjusting the tidal data in real-time and displaying the depth of dredging on the ECDIS monitor. The reliance for verification of dredging operation as well as supervision of dredging process was greatly enhanced by providing three-dimensional map with variation of dredging depth in real time. The results will contribute to establishing the system which can monitor and record the whole dredging operations in real-time as well as verify the result of dredging quantitatively.
