H-IMA : IMA based Hybrid Platform Architecture for Improving Portability of Flight Software (H-IMA : 비행 소프트웨어의 이식성 향상을 위한 IMA 기반의 혼합형 플랫폼 아키텍처)

  • Flight software operated on the on-board computers in the satellite has requirements such as real-time and high reliability. These requirements make dependency between the flight software and operating environments. Further, whenever a new system is built, such problem drives that all flight software are redeveloped. Thus, the dependency between them should be removed. And the work can be achieved by improving the portability of the flight software. In this paper, we propose a platform architecture based on the IMA architecture. The platform architecture is a hybrid one built by blending two kinds of realizations of the IMA architecture in order to maximize portability. In addition, we implement a prototype system and analyze the execution results of the system to justify the proposed architecture. The proposed architecture enables us to remove the dependency between fight software and operating environments.

  • The existing approaches for the music application have not considered a real-time multi-tasking model. So, it suffers from a high complexity and a low flexibility in design as well as lack of predictability for the timely execution of critical tasks. In this paper, we design a new concurrent tasking architecture for a real-time embedded music system and examine if all real-time tasks can finish execution within their respective time constraints. The design is implemented on the Linux based Xhyper272 Board that uses the Intel Bulverde microprocessor.

  • In this paper, we implement a navigation software of a Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) receiver based on a commercial purpose GNSS software receiver platform and verify its performance by performing experimental tests for various GNSS signals available in Korea region. The SX3, employed in this paper, is composed of an application program and a Radio Frequency (RF) frontend, and can capture and process multi-constellation and multi-frequency GNSS signals. All the signal processing procedure of SX3 is accessible by the receiver software designer. In particular for an easy research and development, the Application Programing Interface (API) of the SX3 has a flexible architecture to upgrade or change the existing software program, equipped with a real-time monitoring function to monitor all the API executions. Users can easily apply and experiment with the developed algorithms using a form of Dynamic Link Library (DLL) files. Thus, by utilizing this flexible architecture, the cost and effort to develop a GNSS receiver can be greatly reduced.

  • The advance of computer, network, and Internet technology enables the control systems to process the massive data in the distributed computing environments. To implement and maintain the software in distributed environment, the component-based methodology is widely used. This paper proposes the middleware architecture for the distributed computer control system. With the proposed middleware services, it is relatively easy to maintain compatibility between products and to implement a portable control application. To achieve the compatibility between heterogeneous systems, the proposed architecture provides the communication protocols based on the XML with lightweight event-based service.

  • In this thesis, a three degrees of freedom robot, which is able to provide sufficient precision for various robot researches, has been developed. The cable mechanism is used as a basic transmission of robot joints. Based on an optimal design strategy, link and joint parameters are determined and then overall geometry of the robot is designed. As an architecture of robot control, real time control system using real time linux and RtiC-Lab(Real Time Controls Laboratory) is developed. This system, written in C and based on Linux O/S, includes text editor, compiler, downloader, and real time plotter running in host computer for developing control purpose. Using these hardware and software, simple PD position control is implemented, the results shows the effectiveness of the system.

  • What is an alternative to medical information security of medical information more secure preservation and safety of various types of security threats should be taken, starting from the software design.   • To overcome limitations of test scope, schedule and cost, M&S(Modeling & Simulation) technique has been applied for T&E(Test and Evaluation) of the state-of-art weapon systems. This paper proposes an air defense simulation software framework to reduce both redundancy an[1 programming errors in system simulator. The proposed framework consists of a 'model' and a 'middleware' The 'middleware' is a reliable communication service layer that supports not only HLA(High Level Architecture) which is an international standard in M&S but also TCP/IP, UDP and etc. The main role of 'model' is to schedule and to run the real-time distributed simulation. The proposed framework has been applied to M-SAM(Middle range Surface to Air Missile) system simulator. The proposed framework's scheduling and communication performance results are satisfactory and were measured by hardwired NTP(Network Timer Protocol) time-stamp with GPS(Global Positioning System) timer for better precision.

Effective SoC Architecture of a VDP for full HD TVs (Full HD TV를 위한 효율적인 VDP SoC 구조)

  • This Paper proposes an effective SoC hardware architecture implementing a VDP for Full HD TVs. The proposed architecture makes real time video processing possible with supporting efficient bus architecture and flexible interface. Video IP cores in the VDP are designed to provide a high quality of improved image enhancement function. The Avalon interface is adopted to guarantee real-time capability to IPs as well as SoC integration. This leads to reduced design time and also enhanced designer's convenience due to the easiness in IP addition, deletion, and revision for IP verification and SoC integration. The embedded software makes it possible to implement flexible real-time system by controlling setting parameter details and data transmitting schemes in real-time. The proposed VDP SoC design is implemented on Cyclon III SoPC platform. The experimental results show that our proposed architecture of the VDP SoC successfully provides required quality of Video image by converting SD level input to Full HD level image.

  • SDR (Software Defined Radio) 기술은 세계적인 공통 표준이 없는 이동통신 시스템을 하나의 단말을 이용하여 소프트웨어적으로 접근 가능하도록 만들어주는 것이다. SDR에서는 소프트웨어 프레임워크의 표준으로 JTRS JPO에서 정의한 SCA (Software Communications Architecture)를 채택하였다. 본 논문에서는 SCA의 구조에 대해서 간단히 살펴보고 소프트웨어 컴포넌트의 실시간 교체 방법이 필요한 부분임을 프로그램 시뮬레이션을 통해 제시한다.

Development of Wireless Communication Based Operation State Monitoring System for Open Rack Vaporizer (무선 통신 기반 해수식 기화기 운영 상태 모니터링 시스템 개발)

  • An open rack vaporizer is a facility that vaporizes liquefied natural gas using sea water. When a vaporization efficiency of the open rack vaporizer decreases, liquefied natural gas can leak, which can cause great damage to the facility. Operators have to monitor the operation state of the facility in real-time to prevent the accident. However, operators have visited the site and have checked the state by looking at the value of sensors installed in the open rack vaporizer through indicators. For the safe operation of the open rack vaporizer, a monitoring system is needed to monitor the operation state of the open rack vaporizer in real-time without the need for operators to visit the site. In this paper, we developed a long term evolution based monitoring system to monitor the operation state of the open rack vaporizer. The developed system can monitor the real-time operation state of the open rack vaporizer at a control center far from the facility. For the system development, data transmission infrastructure using long term evolution was built. Afterwards a software was developed to monitor the operation state of the open rack vaporizer in real-time using the transmitted data. Finally, performance evaluation was conducted to confirm that the developed system operated successfully without data transmission delay or data missing.
