  • 3-dimensional Neuronavigator, Viewing Wand(ISG Technologies, Toronto, Cannda) is the surgery aid equipment for real time image (CT or MRI) guided surgery. The assurance of spatial accuracy of this system is important for clinical application. In this study, we have designed the acrylic brain phantom and measured the spatial error with that phantom. The phantom has designed to have capability to simulate image guided surgery. The phantom has 22 vertical rods whose diameters are 5mm and each rods has different length. CT scans were performed by 2.0mm slice and reconstructed for 3-Dimensional analysis. End point of rods can be obtained using reconstructed 3- Dimensional images and they are compared to actual position data. Average deviation was less than 2mm for various situations. Spatial error of Viewing Wand is acceptable in the clinical points of view, while cosmetics of the software needs to be modified to more user friend. Better accuracy can be expected when we apply the mixed fiducial fit registration and surface fit registration method. And even better results can be obtained if registration points distributed even and symetric around the target.

  • Image-guided surgery potentially enhances intraoperative safety and outcomes in a variety of craniomaxillofacial procedures. We explore the efficiency of one intraoperative navigation system in a single complex craniofacial case, review the initial and recurring costs, and estimate the added cost (e.g., additional setup time, registration). We discuss the potential challenges and benefits of utilizing image-guided surgery in our specific case and its benefits in terms of educational and teaching purposes and compare this with traditional osteotomies that rely on a surgeon's thorough understanding of anatomy coupled with tactile feedback to blindly guide the osteotome during surgery. A 13-year-old presented with untreated syndromic multi-suture synostosis, brachycephaly, severe exorbitism, and midface hypoplasia. For now, initial costs are high, recurring costs are relatively low, and there are perceived benefits of imaged-guided surgery as an excellent teaching tool for visualizing difficult and often unseen anatomy through computerized software and multi-planar real-time images.

  • Due to the increasing demand for more rapid, precise and accurate geolocation of the targets on video frames from UAVs, an efficient and timely method for correcting sensor models of motion imagery is required. In this paper, we propose a method to adjust or correct sensor models of motion imagery frames using space resection via image matching with reference data. The proposed method adopts image matching between the motion imagery frames and the reference frames which are synthesized from reference data. Ground or reference control points are generated or selected through the matching process in near real time, and are used for space resection to get adjusted sensor models. Finally, more precise and accurate geolocation of the targets can possibly be done on the fly, and we have got the promising result on performance analysis in terms of the geolocation quality.

  • In this paper, real-time detection methods for Panorama system Key-Points offers. A recent study in PANORAMA system real-time area navigation or DVR to apply such research has recently been actively. The detection of the Key-Point is the most important elements that make up a Panorama system. Not affected by contrast, scale, Orientation must be detected Key-Point. Existing research methods are difficult to use in real-time Because it takes a lot of computation time. Therefore, this paper propose BLOG(BitRate Laplacian Of Gaussian)method for faster time Key-Point Detecting and Through various experiments to detect the Speed, Computation, detection performance is compared against.

  • An image obtained from a low light environment results in a low-exposure problem caused by non-ideal camera settings, i.e. aperture size and shutter speed. Of particular note, the multiple color-filter aperture (MCA) system inherently suffers from low-exposure problems and performance degradation in its image classification and registration processes due to its finite size of the apertures. In this context, this paper presents a novel method for the color enhancement of low-exposure images and its application to color shift model-based MCA system for image refocusing. Although various histogram equalization (HE) approaches have been proposed, they tend to distort the color information of the processed image due to the range limits of the histogram. The proposed color enhancement algorithm enhances the global brightness by analyzing the basic cause of the low-exposure phenomenon, and then compensates for the contrast degradation artifacts by using an adaptive histogram specification. We also apply the proposed algorithm to the preprocessing step of the refocusing technique in the MCA system to enhance the color image. The experimental results confirm that the proposed method can enhance the contrast of any low-exposure color image acquired by a conventional camera, and is suitable for commercial low-cost, high-quality imaging devices, such as consumer-grade camcorders, real-time 3D reconstruction systems, digital, and computational cameras.

  • Ship object detection is a technique to detect the existence and the location of ship when ship objects are shown on input image sequence, and there are wide variations in accuracy due to environmental changes and noise of input image. In order to solve this problem, in this paper, we propose multiple ship object detection based on background registration technique and morphology operation. The proposed method consists of the following five steps: background elimination step, noise elimination step, object standard position setting step, object restructure step, and multiple object detection steps. The experimental results show accurate and real-time ship detection for 15 different test sequences with a detection rate of 98.7%, and robustness against variable environment. The proposed method may be helpful as the base technique of sea surface monitoring or automatic ship sailing.

  • The registration is an important part of image processing and pattern recognition. In this paper, the integral projection method is proposed as the first stage of the two-stage template matching. The computation time of the proposed method is one-tenth of that of the two-stage template matching technique with a sub-template. This method is applied to a noisy (real)image with a different bias level and gives a correct template position, while the two-stage template matching technique with a sub-template cannot detect correctly.

  • Domestic vehicle registration is continuously increasing every year, traffic accidents are also increasing by an increase in the number of vehicles. In the event of a traffic accident, the perpetrator and the victim should be judged and handled appropriately. When judging the accident situation, the black box is what evidence can be except for witness who is at the accident scene. The black box becomes an essential role in order to prevent traffic accidents. However, there is no way to prove integrity by evidence corruption, fabrication and etc. For this reason, we propose a method to guarantee the integrity of image through hash value generated by using PingPong 256 encryption algorithm for integrity verification in this paper.

  • Real-time monitoring of the behavior of reinforced soil retaining wall (RSW) is required for safety checks. In this study, a targetless displacement measurement technology (TDMT) consisting of an image registration module and a displacement calculation module was proposed to monitor the behavior of RSW, in which facing displacement and settlement typically occur. Laboratory and field experiments were conducted to compare the measuring performance of natural target (NT) with the performance of artificial target (AT). Feature count- and location-based performance metrics and displacement calculation performance were analyzed to determine their correlations. The results of laboratory and field experiments showed that the feature location-based performance metric was more relevant to the displacement calculation performance than the feature count-based performance metric. The mean relative errors of the TDMT were less than 1.69 % and 5.50 % for the laboratory and field experiments, respectively. The proposed TDMT can accurately monitor the behavior of RSW for real-time safety checks.

  • To reconstruct 3- D shape, It is a common strategy to acquire multiple range Images from different viewpoints and integrate them into a common coordinates In this paper, we particularly focus on the registration and integration processes for combining all range Images into one surface model. For the registration, we propose the 2-step registration algorithm, which consists of 2 steps the rough registration step using all data points and the fine registration step using the high-curved data points For the integration, we propose a new algorithm, referred to as ‘multi-registration’ technique, to alleviate the error accumulation problem, which occurs during applying the pair-wise registration to each range image sequentially, in order to transform them into a common reference frame Intensive experiments are performed on the various real range data In experiments, all range images were registered within 1 minutes on Pentium 150MHz PC The results show that the proposed algorithms registrate and integrate multiple range Images within a tolerable error bound in a reasonable computation time, and the total error between all range Images are equalized with our proposed algorithms.
