프레게의 칸토르 비판 - 수학적 실천과 수학의 적용 (Frege's Critiques of Cantor - Mathematical Practices and Applications of Mathematics)

  • 프레게의 논리주의는 흔히 19 세기 후반의 산수화 운동을 잇는 수론 내의 발전사례로 간주된다. 그러나 실수 해석학 내의 그의 실제 작업을 고려해 볼 때 이런 견해를 받아들이기란 쉽지 않다. 그래서 그의 논리주의는 당대의 수학적 실천과는 유리된 철학적 프로그램에 불과했다고 간혹 주장되곤 했다. 이 논문에서 나는 이두 견해가 근거 없는 편견에 의존하고 있고, 그런 편견은 당대의 수학적 실천의 맥락 내에서 프레게 논리주의가 갖는 이론적 지위를 오해한 데서 비롯한 것임을 보일것이다. 첫째로 나는 칸토르의 실수 정의와 이에 대한 프레게의 비판을 검토할 것이다. 이에 근거해서 나는 프레게의 목표는 양의 비율을 순수 논리적으로 정의하는 것이었음을 보일 것이다. 둘째로 나는 프레게 논리주의의 수학적 배경을 고찰할 것이다. 이를 기초로 나는 실수 해석학에 대한 그의 견해는 예상외로 정교하다는 것을 보일 것이다. 프레게는 바이어슈트라스나 칸토르와는 달리 보편적 적용 가능성을 갖는 실수 해석학에 도달하려 하는 반면, 전통적 견해를 고수하는 대부분의 수학자들과 달리 실수 해석학을 확립할 때 기하학적 고찰에 결코 의지하지 않으려 한다. 셋째로 나는 프레게가 이 두 측면 - 기하학으로부터 독립성 및 보편적 적용가능성 - 을 논리학 자체의 특징으로 간주하였고, 논리주의에 따라 그것을 산수학 자체의 특징으로 간주하였다고 주장한다. 그리고 나는 실수가 양의 비율이라는 그의 견해는 수들의 본성이 다양한 맥락에서 수들이 하는 공통된 역할 내에서 이해되어야 한다는 그의 방법론적 원칙으로부터 유래하였다는 것, 그리고 그는 그런 식의 정의 없이는 수의 보편적 적용 가능성도 적합하게 설명될 수 없다고 생각했다는 것을 보일 것이다.

WDM 채널수에 따른 최적의 OPC 위치 및 광섬유 분산 계수 (Optimal OPC Position and Fiber Dispersion Coefficients depending on WDM Channel Numbers)

  • 본 논문에서는 광 위상 공액기 (OPC ; optical phase conjugator)를 중심으로 광 전력과 색 분산량을 대칭화 하는 방법을 대체할 수 있는 OPC의 최적 위치 편차와 그에 따른 광섬유 구간의 최적 분산 계수 편차를 WDM 시스템의 채널수에 따라 살펴보았다. 본 논문에서 고려한 WDM 시스템의 채널수는 8, 12, 16, 20, 24로 가정하였고, 각 채널의 비트율은 40 Gbps로 가정하였다. 모든 WDM 채널의 보상을 위한 최적 OPC 위치 편차와 광섬유 구간의 최적 분산 계수 편차는 채널수가 증가할수록 커져야 한다는 것을 확인하였다. 그러나 최적 OPC 위치 편차와 광섬유 구간의 최적 분산 계수 편차가 동시에 증가하기 때문에 OPC 위치 이동 1 km 당 최적 분산 계수 값은 WDM 채널수에 크게 의존하지 않는다는 것을 알 수 있었다. 그리고 이들 최적 파라미터 값들은 WDM 채널수가 적은 시스템에서보다 채널수가 많은 시스템에 더욱 효과적이라는 것을 알 수 있었다.

A Realtime Analytical System of Football Game

  • The objective of he study is to record the real conditions along with the soccer ball that is, each player's ball keeping time, the number football keeping, accuracy of passing to other player, direction, etc., on a real-time basis, measure them in numbers and get necessary analyzed output as much as one needs. The study consists of the following stages: (1) Record the data by drawing through Visual Interface on a real-time basis; (2) Graphic windows to display the recorded data item by item in graphic; (3) Form windows to display the individual or team scores anytime when needed; (4) Windows to display the analyzed data in visualized form. The effect of the study is threefold: (1) It inputs all the game-related data on a real-time basis, which was impossible before and shows analyzed contents during the game enabling each tea manager o use; (2) In cse of TV broadcasting or newspaper articles, it explains objectively the situations of he game to the TV viewers or readers; (3) After the game, it provides importance information on each team's playing ability and individual player's technical improvement through data analysis.

STRUCTURE OF THE ZEROS OF q-BERNOULLI POLYNOMIALS

  • In this paper we observe the structure of the roots of q-Bernoulli polynomials, ${\beta}_n(w,h{\mid}q)$, using numerical investigation. By numerical experiments, we demonstrate a remarkably regular structure of the real roots of ${\beta}_n(w,h{\mid}q)$ for $-{\frac{1}{5}},-{\frac{1}{2}}$. Finally, we give a table for numbers of real and complex zeros of ${\beta}_n(w,h{\mid}q)$.

볼트 수 변경에 따른 플랜지 커플링에 대한 구조해석 (Structural Analysis on Flange Coupling due to Change of Bolt Numbers)

  • This study investigates structural and vibration analyses due to the change of bolt Numbers on models 1 and 2 of flange couplings connected with both sides of axis. As maximum equivalent stresses of models 1 and 2 are 122.05 and 102.3 MPa respectively by the basis of bolt, these stresses are within the allowable stress of this model and the safety of bolt design is verified. As maximum equivalent stresses of models 1 and 2 are 196.2 and 196.4 MPa respectively by the basis of body, these stresses are within the allowable stress of this model and the safety of body design is verified. Through natural frequency analysis, maximum displacements of model 1 and 2 are shown at the frequencies of 6565.1 and 6614.9 Hz respectively. Maximum displacements in cases of models 1 and 2 are shown at harmonic frequencies of 7760 and 7840 Hz at real loading conditions. By putting these study results together, the durability of vibration at model 2 with bolt numbers of 8 becomes better than model 1 with bolt numbers of 6. These study results can be effectively utilized with the design on flange coupling by anticipating and investigating prevention and durability against its damage.

'어떤 실수로의 극한'을 사용하지 않고 무한소수를 정의하기 (Defining the Infinite Decimal without Using the 'Limit to a Real Number')

  • 이 연구에서는, 이지현(2014; 2015)이 이중단절의 극복을 위해 제안한 무한소수를 통한 실수 도입방식의 특징에 대해 살펴보고, 그 접근방식의 수학적 기초인 Li(2011)의 제안에 대해 분석하고 전통적인 축소구간열을 활용한 실수도입 방식과 비교하였다. 분석의 결과, 이지현과 Li의 제안에서는 직선의 각 점에 대응하는 무한소수 표현을 만드는 과정에서 '순환논리'에 빠질 위험이 있으며, 이에 대한 수학적 그리고 교육적 보완을 위해, 실수의 구성 과정동안 '어떤 실수로의 극한'을 사용하지 않는 조치가 이루어져야함을 알 수 있었다. 이에, 이 연구에서는 기하학적 축소구간공리를 사용하여 무한소수를 수열로 정의하는 전통적 방식이 그에 대한 적합한 보완책이 될 수 있음을 제기하였다.

Real-time PCR quantification of 9 periodontal pathogens in saliva samples from periodontally healthy Korean young adults

  • Purpose: Few studies have examined periodontal pathogens from saliva samples in periodontally healthy young adults. The purposes of this study were to determine the prevalence of periodontopathic bacteria and to quantify periodontal pathogens in saliva samples using real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) assays in periodontally healthy Korean young adults under 35 years of age. Methods: Nine major periodontal pathogens were analyzed by real-time PCR in saliva from 94 periodontally healthy young adults. Quantification of Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Tannerella forsythia, Treponema denticola, Prevotella intermedia, Fusobacterium nucleatum, Campylobacter rectus, Peptostreptococcus anaerobius, and Eikenella corrodens was performed by DNA copy number measurement. Results: F. nucleatum and E. corrodens were detected in all subjects; the numbers of positive samples were 87 (92.6%), 91 (96.8%), and 90 (95.7%) for P. gingivalis, P. anaerobius, and C. rectus, respectively. Other pathogens were also detected in periodontally healthy subjects. Analysis of DNA copy numbers revealed that the most abundant periodontal pathogen was F. nucleatum, which was significantly more prevalent than all other bacteria (P<0.001), followed by P. anaerobius, P. gingivalis, E. corrodens, C. rectus, and T. denticola. There was no significant difference in the prevalence of each bacterium between men and women. The DNA copy number of total bacteria was significantly higher in men than in women. Conclusions: Major periodontal pathogens were prevalent in the saliva of periodontally healthy Korean young adults. Therefore, we suggest that the development of periodontal disease should not be overlooked in periodontally healthy young people, as it can arise due to periodontal pathogen imbalance and host susceptibility.

수학 학습부진아 예방을 위한 가정학습 효율화 방안 연구 (A Study on a Home Teaching Method to Prevent Slow Learner in Elementary School Mathematics)

  • The purpose of this paper is to present a specific set of home teaching methods in hopes to prevent slow learner of the elementary mathematics. This paper deals with the number and operations, one of five topics in the elementary mathematics A survey of two hundred elementary school teachers was made to see the teacher's opinions of the role of home studying and to concretize the contents of the research topics. There were asked which is the most essential contents for the concrete loaming and which is the most difficult monad that might cause slow leaner. And those were found to be; counting, and arithmetic operations(addition and subtraction) of one or two-digit numbers and multiplication and their concepts representations and operations(addition and subtraction) of fractions. The home teaching methods are based on the situated learning about problem solving in real life situations and on the active teaming which induces children's participation in the process of teaching and learning. Those activities in teaching each contents are designed to deal with real objects and situations. Most teaching methods are presented in the order of school curriculum. To teach the concepts of numbers and the place value, useful activities using manipulative materials (Base ten blocks, Unifix, etc.) or real objects are also proposed. Natural number's operations such as addition, subtraction and multiplication are subdivided into small steps depending upon current curriculum, then for understanding of operational meaning and generalization, games and activities related to the calculation of changes are suggested. For fractions, this paper suggest 10 learning steps, say equivalent partition, fractional pattern, fractional size, relationship between the mixed fractions and the improper fraction, identifying fractions on the number line, 1 as a unit, discrete view point of fractions, comparison of fractional sizes, addition and subtraction, quantitative concepts. This research basically centers on the informal activities of kids under the real-life situation because such experiences are believed to be useful to prevent slow learner. All activities and learnings in this paper assume children's active participation and we believe that such active and informal learning would be more effective for learning transfer and generalization.

Detection and Quantification of Methanogenic Communities in Anaerobic Processes Using a Real-Time PCR

  • A method for detection and quantification of aceticlastic methanogens using a real-time PCR with a TaqMan probe was developed. Two sets of primers and probes targeting the family Methanosarcinaceae and Methanosaetaceae were designed by using the Ribosormal Database Project (RDP) II, and softwares for phylogenetic probe design and sequence analysis. Target-group specificity of each set of primers and probe was verified by testing DNAs isolated from pure cultures of 28 archaeal strains purchased from DSMZ. Cell numbers in the 28 archaeal cultures and in the samples from anaerobic processes were quantified using a real-time PCR with the sets of primers and probe. In conclusion, the real-time PCR assay was very specific for the corresponding target methanogenic family and was proved to be a powerful method for quantification of aceticlastic methanogens in anaerobic processes.
