BiSrCaCuO계의 Pb첨가 효과 (Effect of Pb dopped on BiSrCaCuO system)

  • High Tc oxide superconductor with a Tc above 100 K has been successfully prepared by solid state reaction method in added-Pb BiSrCaCuO system. As compared with 123 compound, the formation reaction of the high Tc requires long time heat treatment. It is due to the transformation from the low Tc phase to high Tc phase. The sintering just below the melting point of the calcined powder mixture is effective on the formation of the high Tc phase in BiSrCaCuO system to be added with Pb. The growth of the high Tc superconducting phase has a thin plate shape, which is characterized by the c parameter of 37${\AA}$. The formation kinetics is also investigated in the samples with different Bi/Pb ratio and the 30% Pb addition is most preferable for the formation of the high Tc phase. The formation of the high Tc phases is delayed by the excessive addition of Pb. The lattice parameter(c) of the unit cell(both the low and high Tc phases) is increased with increase of Pb.

Ni 첨가된 용융아연 도금욕의 석출물과 계면반응 (Effects of Ni Addition on the Precipitate Formation and Interfacial Reaction in Hot Dipped Galvanizing Bath)

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the effects of Ni on precipitate formation in a Ni added galvanizing bath, which has various Ni content from 0.03wt.% to 0.5wt.%. The addition of hi in the Ni containing galvanizing bath resulted in the formation of Al-Ni intermetallic compounds such as $Al_3$$Ni_2$ and $Al_2$Ni, which make up most of the top precipitates. At 0.07wt.%Ni, Al-Ni intermetallic compound formed sensitively with small amount of Al addition. By analysing the reaction thickness of galvanized steel, it was found that Ni addition in a Zn-0.18w1.%Al bath tended to suppress the formation of Fe-Zn intermetallic compounds but the formation of these compounds increased with increasing Ni concentration above 0.1wt.%.

  • Effect of sulfate on the reactionof C3S formation in presence of clinker melt and its appearance in clinker were investigated, using (NH4)2SO4 and CaSO4 as sulfate sources. When (NH4)2SO4 and CaSO4 were added, both showed the similar results, 1.0wt% of sulfate could promoted the reaction of C3S formation, however for its content of more than 2.0wt%, the formation of C3S was prevented. Residual limit of sulfate to C3S formation is about 1.4wt%. Appearances of sulfate were C4A3l and CaSO4 in interstitial phase. For the addition of (NH4)2SO4 or CaSO4 of 20wt%~4.0wt%, C3S grains showed the hypertrophic growth. We might consider that, because sulfate reduced the surface tension and viscosity of the clinker melt, C3S crystals were precipitated below 140$0^{\circ}C$, and the crystlas of C3S were coalesced and linked in the same crystallographical direction with increasing temperature becuase of their rapid growth rate.

  • The oxidation of cytidine 1 and inosine 5 by sodium metaperiodate followed by the reaction of the product with $CH_3I$ in NaOH afforded 2',4'-dihydroxyhexopyranosyl derivatives 2 and 14 respectively. The reaction of thiophene-2-carboxylic acid or furfural with cytidine were taken place via cycloaddition afforded adducts 3 and 4 respectivily. The bromination of inosine 5 or its 2',3'-O-isopropylidine inosine 6 led to the formation of 8-bromoanalogue 7 and 8, respectively. The reaction of 8-bromo-2',3'-O-isopropylidine inosine (8) with ethylglycinate hydrochloride afforded 8-ethoxycarbonylmethylaminoinosine 9. The alkylation of the compound 6 with urea led to the formation of 3-carbonylaminoinosine 10. The oxidation of 6 with DCC afforded 4'-formyl derivative 11, which on reaction with ethyl glycinate hydrochloride followed by reaction with sodium cyanoborohydride afforded 12, while the treatment of dialdehyde inosine 13 with ethyl cyanoacetate in the presence of 0.5 N NaOH afforded compound 15.

동축 층류 확산화염에서의 그을음 생성 (Soot Generation in a Coaxial Laminar Diffusion Flame)

  • Soot generation by combustion process has been investigated with objective of understanding of chemical reaction responsible for its formation in a coaxial laminar propane jet diffusion flame. For the direct photos, as the coflowing air flow rate is reduced, the area of soot luminous zone increases at first, then becomes smaller and smaller, and even disappears. The aspects of soot deposition can be acquired by using nine $15{\mu}m$ thin SiC fibers are positioned horizontally across the flame. Deposited soots on SiC fibers show the soot inception point and growth and soot oxidation zone in a typical propane diffusion. Soot is not generated anymore in a oxidizer deficient conditions of near-extinction and flame is fully occupied by transparent blue flame. It suggests that nonsooting pyroligneous blue reaction is being dominant in a oxidizer deficient ambience. In comparison with luminosities of SiC fibers and flame itself, indirect evidence is found that the process of soot nucleation and growth is endothermic reaction. It is remarkable that there exists two adjacent regions to have antithesis characteristics; one is exothermic reaction of blue flame and another endothermic reaction zone of soot formation.

염산용액에서 Alamine336에 의한 염화 제1, 2구리의 용매추출 (Solvent Extraction of Cuprous and Cupric Chloride from Hydrochloric Acid Solutions by Alamine336)

  • Solvent extraction experiments of cupric and cuprous chloride with Alamine336 have been performed from HCl solution. In order to identify the solvent extraction reaction, distribution diagram of cupric and cuprous species with HCl concentration was obtained by considering complex formation reaction and the activity coefficient of solutes with Pitzer equation. Analysis of the solvent extraction data by graphical method together with the distribution diagram of copper indicated that solvent extraction reaction of copper with Alamine336 depends on HCl concentration. In strong HCl solution of 3 and 5 M, ${CuCl_4}^{2-}$ and ${CuCl_3}^{2-}$ took part in the solvent extraction reaction as Cu(II) and Cu(I), respectively. When HCl concentration was 1 M, ${CuCl_2}^-$ was extracted into the organic phase in the case of Cu(I) while adduct formation between $Cu^{2+}$ and Alamine336 was responsible for the solvent extraction reaction of Cu(II).

A New Alkalophilic Bacterium Producing Ethylene

  • A new isolate, Bacillus sp. ALK-7 can synthesize ethylene from l-aminocyclopropane-l-carboxylic acid (ACC) as well as from methionine. The ACC has only been recognized as a key intermediate found in the metabolic pathway leading to ethylene formation in various plants. The efficiency of ethylene formation from the ACC by Bacillus sp. ALK-7 was about 2 times as high as that from the methionine. The reaction from ACC to ethylene formation was also shown to be mediated by the cell-free extracts of Bacillus sp. ALK-7.

  • The formation and properties of porous silicon layer(PSL) formed by anodic reaction in hydrofluoric acid solution have been studied. Many micropores are formed randomly inside of PSL and the anodization is achieved uniformly-toward the thickness direction. Current density, resistivity and HF concentration in P-type PSL formation are found to play important roles in determining the formation and properties of PSL.

  • CO2 reforming of methane (CRM) based on Ni catalysts was studied using temperature programmed reaction (TPR). The onset temperature of the CRM reaction was increased in a repeated TPR experiments. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectroscopy showed formation of graphite structures on Ni during CRM reaction, which deactivate Ni-surfaces. Attempts were made for inhibiting deactivation of Ni surfaces and reducing onset-temperature of the CRM reaction by various surface modification techniques, which will be presented in this poster.

$\alpha$-Piperidinoacetophenone의 Hydantoin 형성 반응 (Bucherer Berg's Reaction of $\alpha$-Piperidinoacetophenone in the Formation of Hydantoin)

  • In Bucherer-Berg's reaction of $\alpha$-piperidinoacetophenone with KCN and ($NH_{4})_{2}CO_{3}$ in dilute alcohol solution to form hydantoin, the expected 5-phenyl-5-piperidinomethylhydantoin was not formed. In this reaction $\alpha$-piperidinomethyl group was eliminated and 5-phenylhydantoin was obtained. According to GC/MS study of the reaction mixture, the one of the chromatograms, which has mole peak 124, was identified as a-piperidinoacetonitrile. Under the pressurized condition, diphenylhydantil was obtained instead of 5-phenylhydantoin, which might have dimerized to the former.
