  • In an attempt to clarify the influence of lung volume and water temperature on the heart rate response during apneic face immersion in the trained athletes, 10 soccer players were studied while holding their breath as long as possible after full inspiration(TLC), full expiration(RV) or normal breath(FRC) with face immersion in water. The electrocardiogram(Lead II) was recorded before and during each manuever and compared with 20 control subjects. The results are summarized as follows; 1) Resting heart rate was significantly lower in the athletes than that of the control groups. 2) During apneic face immersion, severe bradycardia were observed in both groups and the heart rate was significantly lower in the athletes than that of the control groups. 3) The degree of the bradycardia (maximum percent reduction of heart rate, HRmax.) were inversely propotional to the lung volume and water temperature. In the above results, bradycardial response was more sensitive in the athletes than the control. It was suggested that diving bradycardia was related to the gas content in the lung and reflex from the cold receptor in the face.

  • Kusukawa and Ohta presented the $CS_{CQ-r}$ chart to monitor the process defect $rate{\lambda}$ in high-yield processes that is derived from the count of defects. The $CS_{CQ-r}$ chart is more sensitive to $monitor{\lambda}$ than the CQ (Cumulative Quantity) chart proposed by Chan et al.. As a more superior chart in high-yield processes, we propose a Synthetic chart that is the integration of the CQ_-r chart and the $CS_{CQ-r}$chart. The quality characteristic of both charts is the number of units y required to observe r $({\geq}2)$ defects. It is assumed that this quantity is an Erlang random variable from the property that the quality characteristic of the CQ chart follows the exponential distribution. In use of the proposed Synthetic chart, the process is initially judged as either in-control or out-of-control by using the $CS_{CQ-r}$chart. If the process was not judged as in-control by the $CS_{CQ-r}$chart, the process is successively judged by using the $CQ_{-r}$chart to confirm the judgment of the $CS_{CQ-r}$chart. Through comparisons of ARL (Average Run Length), the proposed Synthetic chart is more superior to monitor the process defect rate in high-yield processes to the stand-alone $CS_{CQ-r}$ chart.

  • This study was conducted to investigate freezability of in vitro and in vitro matured rabbit oocytes, possibility of NT using frozen-thawed unfertilized oocytes, and NT efficiency by zona-slit micromanipulation. After freezing of in vitro matured oocytes, 33 to 49% of oocytes appeared normal morphology and 1.0M DMSO and 1.5M glycerol showed slightly high survival rate, but there was no difference in survival between two cryoprotectants. Freezability of in vitro matured oocytes was low in 1.5M glycerol and more sensitive to freezing. Efficiency of enucleation and fusion rate in method B was higher than that in method A and no difference in this efficiency was between 3 groups of oocytes in method B. Cleavage rate and developmental capacity to M+B stage of fused embryos derived from frozen oocytes was greatly lower than that from fresh oocytes, respectively(39.1% : 79.5% ; 3.1% : 19.3%) and there was no difference in cleavage rate between DC voltages in two group oocytes. Additional incubation in cytochalasin B after electrical stimulation did not affect embryo development. In conclusion, it is suggested that enucleation and nucelar transfer by slitting of zona is more effective method in rabbit and that further study on optimum freezing conditions for in vitro matured oocytes is necessary to use as recipient oocytes.

  • In this study in order to evaluate the growth of RF propagation exposure rate generated according to the enhancement of its use, it is proposed for the ground to be able to examine and to contemplate the correlation between the human health and RF propagation exposure rate by measuring and analyzing the RF exposure source and exposure rate in an indoor environment. As a result of research, it is analyzed that the main exposure source of critically making effect in indoor environment is the frequency hand if radio broadcasting, mobile communication, wireless LAN, digital broadcasting, home appliance, etc., including the TV broadcasting. Among these, it is shown that the TV broadcasting and mobile communication band are the highest. And it is the concluded that RF exposure rate of the environmental sensitive equipment, like an institution for the aged, has lower possibility to exceed the human RF protection criteria by this evaluation.

  • Relationship between dynamic friction resistances and shear displacement rate, and other frictional characteristics of non-geotextile-involving geosynthetic interfaces was experimentally studied. A cyclic, displacement rate-controlled experimental setup built on a shaking table was used. The subsequent multiple rate tests showed that interfaces that do not involve geotextiles have distinct shearing characteristics that can be differentiated from the interfaces involving geotextiles. Unlike those of the geotextile-involving interfaces, shear behaviors of the interfaces involving only non-geotextiles tend to be not sensitive to shear displacement rate, and are approximately rigid-perfectly plastic.

  • Respiration rate is one of the important vital signs. Photo-plethysmography (PPG) measurement especially on a finger has been widely used in pulse oximetry and also used in estimating respiration rate. It is well known that PPG contains respiration-induced intensity variation (RIIV) signal. However, the accuracy of finger PPG method has been controversial. We introduced a new technique of enhancing motion artifact by respiration. This was achieved simply by measuring PPG on the thorax. We examined the accuracy of these two PPG methods by comparing with two existing methods based on thoracic volume and nostril temperature changes. PPG sensing on finger tip, which is the most common site of measurement, produced 6.1 % error. On the other hand, our method of PPG sensing on the thorax achieved 0.4 % error which was a significant improvement. Finger PPG is sensitive to motion artifact and it is difficult to recover fully small respiratory signal buried in waveform dominated by absorption due to blood volume changes. Thorax PPG is poor to represent blood volumes changes since it contains substantial motion artifact due to respiration. Ironically, this inferior quality ensures higher accuracy in terms of respiration measurement. Extreme low-cost and small-sized LED/silicon detector and non-constrained reflection measurement provide a great candidate for respiration estimation in ubiquitous or personal health monitoring.

  • Multiple target tracking mainly focuses on tracking unknown number of targets in the complex environment of clutter and missed detection. The generalized labeled multi-Bernoulli (GLMB) filter has been shown to be an effective approach and attracted extensive attention. However, in the scenarios where the clutter rate is high or measurement-outliers often occur, the performance of the GLMB filter will significantly decline due to the Gaussian-based likelihood function is sensitive to clutter. To solve this problem, this paper presents a robust GLMB filter and smoother to improve the tracking performance in the scenarios with high clutter rate, low detection probability, and measurement-outliers. Firstly, a Student-T distribution variational Bayesian (TDVB) filtering technology is employed to update targets' states. Then, The likelihood weight in the tracking process is deduced again. Finally, a trajectory smoothing method is proposed to improve the integrative tracking performance. The proposed method are compared with recent multiple target tracking filters, and the simulation results show that the proposed method can effectively improve tracking accuracy in the scenarios with high clutter rate, low detection rate and measurement-outliers. • GMO labeling system in South Korea stipulates three labeling methods: GMO labeling, no labeling and Non-GMO labeling. Products labeled as Non-GMO are not allowed for unintentional commingling of GMO without tolerance. However, consumers vary their acceptance of Non-GMO label on the unintentionally commingled products and willingness to pay according to the mixing rate, rather than devalue the whole products as useless. Additionally, consumers do not believe that the acceptable mixing rate should be discriminated between non-labeled products, which allow up to 3% of unintentional GMO contamination, and Non-GMO labeled products. Information on unintentional GMO mixing mainly refers to the mixing rate, but the Non-GMO content remaining even after commingling is also important information. The decline in value is alleviated when consumers are exposed to positive information, such as Non-GMO content, rather than when exposed to negative information, such as the mixing rate. Loss Aversion Coefficient is relative depending on whether the information representing the loss is positive or negative. Information that a Non-GMO labeled product contains X% GMO is more sensitive than information that (100-X)% Non-GMO remains.

  • Purpose: This study conducted an empirical study to estimate the loss aversion rate of individual investors in the Seoul condominium market. Research design, data and methodology: A survey was conducted with Seoul residents ranging from 30's to 60's with various backgrounds. Descriptive statistical analysis and a paired sample t-test were conducted using SPSS 27.0 statistical package. Results: The results of the t-test showed that Seoul residents are indeed more sensitive to loss than gains, as pointed out in various researches related to behavioral economics. Also, the loss aversion rate associated with KRW 50 million risk was found to be 2.14. Finally, the same question was asked with KRW 100 million risk, doubled associated risk of previous question, using the same scenario, and it's been verified that the loss aversion rate increases as the associated risk or stake increases. The loss aversion rate with double risk is 2.26 which is about 5% higher than the one with KRW 50 million risk. Conclusions: This study can help many groups of people in society who need to establish rewards and punishment policies within any organization. In particular, incorporating human cognitive biases, such as loss aversion can help the South Korean government shape more effective reward and punishment policies when building rewards and punishments using taxes.

  • This paper proposes a structure of haptic collaboration system over high resolution tiled-display, and proposes a QoE (quality of experience) increase scheme in integrated system. Both haptic system and tiled-display system have requirements of computational power. A haptic device is unstable if haptic rendering rate is less than 1kHz, A requirement of tiled-display systeme is frame rate of display. It requires update of 30 frame fer sec. If we use these systems independently, we can satisfy each requirements. However, if we integrate two systems, performance of entire system significantly decreases because of lack of resources, and QoE of users also decrease. In this paper, therefore, we propose a QoE guaranty scheme which selectively allocates cpu resource between display update and haptic rendering. In order to increase QoE, we set a priority for visual and haptic in order to allocate more resource on visual or haptic. If a user sensitive about touch, then proposed scheme increases haptic rendering rate by allocating more resource. Otherwise a user more sensitive about visual than haptic, proposed scheme decreases haptic rendering rate and increases tiled-display update rate. Therefore, by selectively allocating limited cpu resource, proposed scheme guaranties QoE of both haptic and visual.
