  • In this paper, we present a depth scaling method for multiview images that could provide an 3D depth that a user prefers. Unlike previous works that change a camera configuration, the proposed method utilizes depth data in order to carry out the scaling of a depth range requested by users. From multivew images and their corresponding depth data, depth data is transformed into a disparity and the disparity is adjusted in order to control the perceived depth. In particular, our method can deal with multiview images captured by multiple cameras, and can be expanded from stereoscopic to multiview images. Based upon a DSCQS subjective evaluation test, our experimental results tested on an automultiscopic 3D display show that the perceived depth is appropriately scaled according to user's preferred depth.

  • This paper has presented the analysis for threshold voltage and drain induced barrier lowering among short channel effects occurred in subthreshold region for double gate(DG) MOSFET as next-generation devices, based on scaling theory. To obtain the analytical solution of Poisson's equation, Gaussian function has been used as carrier distribution to analyze closely for experimental results, and the threshold characteristics have been analyzed for device parameters such as channel thickness and doping concentration and projected range and standard projected deviation of Gaussian function. Since this potential model has been verified in the previous papers, we have used this model to analyze the threshold characteristics. As a result to apply scaling theory, we know the threshold voltage and drain induced barrier lowering are changed, and the deviation rate is changed for device parameters for DGMOSFET.

  • In this paper, minimizing of a parabolic edge planar monopole antenna by scaling method is presented. With the aid of a matching step and discontinuous CPW, the antenna easily adjusts the impedance matching. We used an FR4 dielectric substrate with a dielectric constant of 4.4. The dimensions of the antenna are $26mm{\times}31mm{\times}1.6mm$. A return loss value of more than 10dB was found in the 2.37GHz to 10.52GHz (8.15GHz) range of the antenna fed by the discontinuous CPW. The radiation pattern is about the same as that of the dipole antenna at all frequencies. Configuration elements of the antenna except feed part were reduced into the same rate. So, the size of the antenna was decreased and a broadband property was maintained. Therefore, the self-complementary characteristic of the antenna was confirmed. While satisfying the UWB band, having the smallest size in the antenna miniaturized by scaling;when scale was 0.6. The dimensions of the antenna are $15.6mm{\times}18.6mm{\times}1.6mm$. The return loss was more than 10 dB of the measured result in the range of 3.07GHz to 12.59GHz (9.52GHz).

  • Objectives: This qualitative research was conducted to clearly find and clinically understand dental hygienists' work experience in order to lay the legal foundation for their work range and safe execution. Methods: From March 1 to April 30, 2019, seven study participants were selected and participated in-depth interviews. Phenomenological research methodology was applied for intensive analysis. Results: They performed jobs that required no professionalism, such as dental assistance, except for scaling. Dental hygienists, nurses' aids, and dental technicians performed the same jobs regardless of difficulty level and legal work range. Dental hygienists failed to accurately recognize their legal work range. Since there was the wide gap between their legal work range and actual work range, it was necessary to expand the work range in line with actual conditions. Conclusions: Given the results, it is necessary to conduct in-depth discussions within the dental circle to make dental hygienists' work execution in line with reality by improving and discussing a legal system for job assignment and expansion of workers. Therefore, it is required to form a plan for the many jobs dental hygienists executed in a clinical setting.

  • This study was to develop an instrument for multidimensional measurement of Korean scaling fear (KSF)-1.0 and analyze related factors. A sample of 720 subjects(scaling patients and community people) was studied in Daegu city from November in 2008 to March in 2009. Authors first conceptualized the KSF, item generation, item reduction, and questionnaire formatting were performed in the stage of the development. Item descriptive, missing%, item internal consistency, and item discriminant validity were analyzed in the item-level, also descriptive, floor and ceiling effect were analyzed in the scale-level. Cronbach's alpha, test-retest, inter-dimension correlations, and factor analysis were performed to evaluate the validity and reliability in the new instrument. Confirmative factor analysis was did to evaluate the fit of model. The results for item-level and scale-level were acceptable except item discriminant validity. The reliability for 0.92~0.96 of corelation coefficient range(Cronbach's alpha 0.96~0.98) was high in the test-retest, and there was no significant difference in paired t-test. Item internal consistency(range of pearson corelation coefficient 0.39~0.95) was also high. The result of explanatory factor analysis was the same as the intended dimension structure, also confirmatory factor analysis results revealed that the dimensional structure model were fined well in the evaluation of model fit($x^2$= 1245.66, df=146, p=0.0000; GFI=0.85; AGFI=0.80; RMSEA=0.10). Factors related to KSF by multiple regression were gender($\beta$=0.28, p=0.0004) and teeth brush method($\beta$=-0.15, p=0.0053) in scaling patients, also gender($\beta$=0.25, p=0.0002), educational level($\beta$=0.14, p=0.0155), teeth brush method($\beta$=-0.09, p=0.0229) and time of daily work out($\beta$=-0.10, p=0.0055) were significantly associated with KSF in no scaling group. In conclusion, The results of this study reveal that the new developed measurement scale was reliable and val id instrument for measuring the KSF in dental hygiene patients and community people. We recommend that further research should develop more the instrument for the Korean scaling fear.

  • Thermoelectric power, dc conductivity, and the dielectric relaxation properties of $La_2NiO_{4.03}$ are reported in the temperature range of 77 K - 300 K and in a frequency range of 20 Hz - 1 MHz. Thermoelectric power was positive below 300K. The measured thermoelectric power of $La_2NiO_{4.03}$ decreased linearly with temperature. The dc conductivity showed a temperature variation consistent with the variable range hopping mechanism at low temperatures and the adiabatic polaron hopping mechanism at high temperatures. The low temperature dc conductivity mechanism in $La_2NiO_{4.03}$ was analyzed using Mott's approach. The temperature dependence of thermoelectric power and dc conductivity suggests that the charge carriers responsible for conduction are strongly localized. The relaxation mechanism has been discussed in the frame of the electric modulus and loss spectra. The scaling behavior of the modulus and loss tangent suggests that the relaxation describes the same mechanism at various temperatures. The logarithmic angular frequency dependence of the loss peak is found to obey the Arrhenius law with activation energy of ~ 0.106eV. At low temperature, variable range hopping and large dielectric relaxation behavior for $La_2NiO_{4.03}$ are consistent with the polaronic nature of the charge carriers.

  • Previous research has shown that wind acceleration components produce a signal that can vibrate single-degree of-freedom oscillators, whose dynamic responses enable to configure design spectra for structures subject to wind. These wind design spectra present an alternative method for evaluating the dynamic response of structures and are a suitable tool for running modal analyses. Here, a generalised method for producing wind design spectra is proposed. The method consists of scaling existing spectra to adjust to a wider range of building properties and terrain conditions. The modelling technique is tested on a benchmark building to prove that its results are consistent with experimental evidence reported in the past.

  • This paper investigates the social and political construction of geographical scale in conjunction with Korean housing politics. Recently, attention has been drawn to the issue of the social and political construction of geographical scale. Spatial scales have increasingly been regarded as socially constructed and politically contested rather than ontologically pregiven or fixed. The scale literature has paid attention to how different spatial scales can be used or articulated in social movements, with an emphasis on 'up-scaling' and 'scales of activism' rather than 'down-scaling' and 'scales of regulation.' Furthermore, the scale literature has focused on the aspect of empowerment. However, it is worthwhile to examine how scale-especially 'down-scaling' and 'scales of regulation'-can be used not only for marginalizing or excluding unprivileged social groups, but also for controlling the (re)production of space, including housing space. Under a regulatory regime, the Korean central government gained more control over the (re)production of housing space at geographical multi-scales by means of 'jumping scales,' specifically 'down-scaling.' The Korean central government has increasingly obtained the capacity to 'jump scales' by using not only multiscalar strategies for housing developments, but also taking advantage of various scales of institutional networking among the central and local governments, quasi-governmental institutions, and Chaebols, across the state. Traditionally, scale has been regarded as an analytical spatial unit or category. However, scale can be seen as means of inclusion(and exclusion) and legitimation. Choosing institutions to include or exclude cannot be separated from the choices and range of spatial scale, and is closely connected to 'scale spatiality of politics.' Facilitating different forms of 'scales of regulation,' the Korean central government included Chaebols and upper- and middle-income groups for the legitimization of housing projects, but excluded local-scale grassroots organizations and unprivileged social groups as decision-makers.

  • This paper have presented the change for subthreshold characteristics for double gate(DG) MOSFET based on scaling theory and the shape of Gaussian function. To obtain the analytical solution of Poisson's equation, Gaussian function been used as carrier distribution and consequently potential distributions have been analyzed closely for experimental results, and the subthreshold characteristics have been analyzed for the shape parameters of Gaussian function such as projected range and standard projected deviation. Since this potential model has been verified in the previous papers, we have used this model to analyze the subthreshold chatacteristics. The scaling theory is to sustain constant outputs for the change of device parameters. As a result to apply the scaling theory for DGMOSFET, we know the subthreshold characteristics have been greatly changed, and the change of threshold voltage is bigger relatively.
