Location Responsive Vehicle Digital Signage System for Visual Mobile Advertisement

  • In this paper we present the combination of location based mobile advertisement services and dynamic digital signage markets has been developing recent days to provide consumer admired visual mobile advertisement on all kind transportation vehicles. In spite of that, the digital signage advertisement content management is still not that easy to manage the content dynamically as well operation is most time consuming to handle the contents dynamically in digital signage business. As location based services is most impactful service in shopping, the location responsive advertisement on vehicle signage will be most desirable mobile advertisement to help people migrate from one place to another place for travel or stay. This paper propose a mobile location responsive digital signage system for vehicles using the GPS and wireless infrastructure integrated with digital signage system. This proposed research use the centralized digital signage system architecture for the mobile advertisement application and this system can be expanded to different vehicles for digital advertisement including buses, trucks, train, air vehicle and any other form of mobile advertising vehicles. Also, this present an effective advertisement recommendation algorithm, by which the advertisement can be selected broadcasted for the right advertisement ventures more effectively as the service requested from advertiser. This paper present the emulated experimental result to evidence the proposed dynamic vehicle signage system performed better than compared with traditional signage random advertising. The emulated result proves that the advertisement recommendation algorithm can effectively works out the targeted key audiences in location responsive region the algorithm evaluated.

Information Coding Schemes for the Frequency Hopping Communication (주파수 도약 통신에 적합한 정보부호화 기법)

  • This paper addresses schemes which securely transmit voice and data information under the worst communication environment using the frequency hopping(FH) communication system to avoid monitoring or interference against enemy. In case of using the conventional FEC and bit interleaving scheme. the processing time for error control coding and bit interleaving due to system complexity is highly demanded. In this paper. the effective information coding scheme of maprity error correction and block interleaving compatible to the proposed FH communication system is proposed to transmit voice or data (I6Kbps. 4.8Kbps. 2.4Kbps. 1.2Kbps, O.6Kbps) under the worst FH communication channel. In transmitter. low rate data signals are configured to majority data blocks. and transmitted repeatedly to FH channel which are structured to 20Kbps hopping frame cells. In receiver. the received data are decoded block by block, and taken majority error correction. Consequently. burst or random errors are corrected at the block deinterleaver and the majority decoder. The proposed coder structure reduces the coding/decnding processing time as well as the jamming interferences, and further simplify the data processing complexity for FH communication. Improved performance of the proposed scheme was verified under simulated channel environments.

Real-time Traffic Sign Recognition using Rotation-invariant Fast Binary Patterns (회전에 강인한 고속 이진패턴을 이용한 실시간 교통 신호 표지판 인식)

  • In this paper, we focus on recognition of speed-limit signs among a few types of traffic signs because speed-limit sign is closely related to safe driving of drivers. Although histogram of oriented gradient (HOG) and local binary patterns (LBP) are representative features for object recognition, these features have a weakness with respect to rotation, in that it does not consider the rotation of the target object when generating patterns. Therefore, this paper propose the fast rotation-invariant binary patterns (FRIBP) algorithm to generate a binary pattern that is robust against rotation. The proposed FRIBP algorithm deletes an unused layer of the histogram, and eliminates the shift and comparison operations in order to quickly extract the desired feature. The proposed FRIBP algorithm is successfully applied to German Traffic Sign Recognition Benchmark (GTSRB) datasets, and the results show that the recognition capabilities of the proposed method are similar to those of other methods. Moreover, its recognition speed is considerably enhanced than related works as approximately 0.47second for 12,630 test data.

  • Two-dimensional product code has been studied for correcting burst errors on the storage systems. An RS-LDPC product code consists of an RS code in horizontal direction and an LDPC code in vertical direction. First, we detect the position of burst errors by using RS code, then LDPC code corrects the errors by using the burst error positions. In storage system, long burst errors are occurred by various reason. So, we need a strong code for correcting the long burst errors. RS-LDPC product code is good for long burst errors. However, as the storage density grows the length of the burst errors will be longer. Thus, we propose an LDPC-LDPC product code, it is strong for correcting the very long burst errors. Also, the proposed LDPC-LDPC product code performs better than RS-LDPC product code when the random errors are occurred, because a row direction LDPC code performs better than row direction RS code.

Identification of Salmonella Enteritidis and S. Typhimurium by multiplex polymerase chain reaction (Multiplex PCR 기법을 이용한 Salmonella Enteritidis와 S. Typhimurium의 특이적 검출에 관한 연구)

  • Salmonella species are the most important etiologic agents of food-borne acute gastroenteritis. The most common serotypes isolated from humans are Salmonella enterica serotype Typhimurium (S. Typhimurium) and S. Enteritidis. Traditional detection methods for Salmonella are based on cultures using selective media and characterization of suspicious colonies by biochemical and serological tests. These methods are generally time-consuming and not so highly sensitive. Recently, the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) has been used as a highly sensitive, specific, and rapid test for the presence of pathogenic bacteria. In this study, a multiplex PCR (m-PCR) was used to detect S. Typhimurium and S. Enteritidis. We selected m-PCR target genes, which were the spv (virulence plasmid specific for S. Enteritidis) and sefA (S. Enteritidis fimbrial antigen) genes, fliC (H1-i antigen specific for S. Typhimurium) and a randomly cloned sequence specific for the genus Salmonella. With m-PCR, random sequence was detected from all strains of Salmonella spp, spv and sefA were detected from all strains of S. Enteritidis (100%), and fliC was detected from all strains of S. Typhimurium (100%). This assay indicate that the specificity of the m-PCR make them potentially valuable tools for detection of S. Typhimurium and S. Enteritidis.

Effects of the Convergence Training on Reduction of Visual Discomfort in 3D TV Environment (3D TV 시청 환경에서 수렴 훈련에 의한 시각적 불편감의 감소)

  • The present study investigated whether convergence training in which has an effect on reducing visual discomfort in viewing 3D TV. The stereoscopic depth of 3D training stimulus was gradually increased while maintaining individual visual discomfort at a minimum value. Participants were randomly assigned into one of three groups: a control group and two training groups. For both training groups, all procedure and the disparity range of training stimuli were the same except the order of the disparities of training stimuli. One of the two different training procedure was provided: gradual change or random change of the disparities of training stimulus. Training itself was very effective so that convergence fusional range was improved after three sessions of training with intervals of two weeks. In order to evaluate the effect of convergence training on visual discomfort, the subjective visual discomfort in 3D TV viewing was measured before and after training sessions using questionnaire. The results showed that a significant reduction in visual discomfort was found after training only in the group of gradual change. These results demonstrated a repeated convergence training might be helpful in reducing the visual discomfort in 3D TV environment.

S-JND based Perceptual Rate Control Algorithm of HEVC (S-JND 기반의 HEVC 주관적 율 제어 알고리즘)

  • In this paper, the perceptual rate control algorithm is studied for HEVC (High Efficiency Video Coding) encoder with bit allocation based on perceived visual quality. This paper proposes perceptual rate control algorithm which could consider perceived quality for HEVC encoding method. The proposed rate control algorithm employs adaptive bit allocation for frame and CTU level using the perceived visual importance of each CTU. For performance evaluation of the proposed algorithm, the proposed algorithm was implemented on HM 16.9 and tested for sequences in Class B under the CTC (Common Test Condition) RA (Random Access) case. Experimental results show that the proposed method reduces the bitrate of 3.12%, and improves BD-PSNR of 0.08dB and bitrate accuracy of 0.07% on average. And also, we achieved MOS improvement of 0.16 with the proposed method, compared with the conventional method based on DSCQS (Double Stimulus Continuous Quality Scale).

Analysis of golf putting for Elite & Novice golfers Using Jerk Cost Function (저크비용함수를 이용한 골프 숙련자와 초보자간의 퍼팅 동작 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to identify critical parameters of a putting performance using jerk cost function. Jerk is the time rate of change of acceleration and it has been suggested that a skilled performance is characterized by decreased jerk magnitude. Four elite golfers($handicap{\leq}2$) and 4 novice golfers participated in this study for the comparison. The 3D kinematic data were collected for each subject performing 5 trials of putts for each of these distances (random order): 1m, 3m, 5m The putting stroke was divided into 3 phases such as back swing. down swing and follow-through. In this study, it was assumed that there exist smoothness difference between elite and novice golfers during putting. The distance and jerk-cost function of Putting stroke for each phase were analyzed Results showed that there was a significant difference in jerk cost function at putter toe (at media-lateral direction) and at the center of mass between two groups by increasing putting distance. From these it could be concluded that jerk can be used as a kinematic parameter for distinguishing elite and novice golfers.

The Effect of Micro-Pore Configuration on the Flow and Thermal Fields of Supercritical CO2

  • Currently, the technology of $CO_2$ capture and storage (CCS) has become the main issue for climate change and global warming. Among CCS technologies, the prediction of $CO_2$ behavior underground is very critical for $CO_2$ storage design, especially for its safety. Hence, the purpose of this paper is to model and simulate $CO_2$ flow and its heat transfer characteristics in a storage site, for more accurate evaluation of the safety for $CO_2$ storage process. In the present study, as part of the storage design, a micro pore-scale model was developed to mimic real porous structure, and computational fluid dynamics was applied to calculate the $CO_2$ flow and thermal fields in the micro pore-scale porous structure. Three different configurations of 3-dimensional (3D) micro-pore structures were developed, and compared. In particular, the technique of assigning random pore size in 3D porous media was considered. For the computation, physical conditions such as temperature and pressure were set up, equivalent to the underground condition at which the $CO_2$ fluid was injected. From the results, the characteristics of the flow and thermal fields of $CO_2$ were scrutinized, and the influence of the configuration of the micro-pore structure on the flow and scalar transport was investigated.

Direct Involvement of G Protein $\alpha_{q/11}$ Subunit in Regulation of Muscarinic Receptor-Mediated sAPP$\alpha$ Release

  • The $G_{q/11}$ protein-coupled receptors, such as muscarinic (M1 & M3) receptors, have been shown to regulate the release of a soluble amyloid precursor protein (sAPP$\alpha$) produced from $\alpha$-secretase processing. However, there is no direct evidence for the precise characteristics of G proteins, and the signaling mechanism for the regulation of $G_{q/11}$ protein-coupled receptor mediated sAPP$\alpha$ release is not clearly understood. This study examined whether the muscarinic receptor-mediated release of sAPP$\alpha$ is directly regulated by $G\alpha_{q/11}$ proteins. The HEK293 cells were transiently cotransfected with muscarinic M3 receptors and a dominant-negative minigene construct of the G protein $\alpha$ subunit. The sAPP$\alpha$ release in the media was measured using an antibody specific for sAPP. The sAPP$\alpha$ release enhancement induced by muscarinic receptor stimulation was decreased by a $G_{q/11}$ minigene construct, whereas it was not blocked by a control minigene construct (the G$\alpha$ carboxy peptide in random order, G$\alpha_{q}$R) or $G\alpha_{j}$ constructs. This indicated a direct role of the $G\alpha_{q/11}$ protein in the regulation of muscarinic M3 receptor-mediated sAPP$\alpha$ release. We also investigated whether the transactivation of the epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) by a muscarinic agonist could regulate the sAPP$\alpha$ release in SH-SY5Y cells. Pretreatment of a specific EGFR kinase inhibitor, tyrophostin AG1478 (250 nM), blocked the EGF-stimulated sAPP$\alpha$ release, but did not block the oxoM­stimulated sAPP$\alpha$ release. This demonstrated that the transactivation of the EGFR by muscarinic receptor activation was not involved in the muscarinic receptor-mediated sAPP$\alpha$ release.
