This study was performed to investigate the adequate standard pot and number of plants per tree of raising seeding pot on the foxtail millet transplanting culture in the southern province. Due to the various application of wellbeing-health food recently, for upbringing of the foxtail millet, millet and sorghum in minor cereals, R & D and policy support is being promoted actively. The foxtail millet growing season is so short from 90 to 130 days, and it is large variations for a growth temperature. The main results are as follows. When it comes to foxtail millet transplantation, seedling quality of 406 holes, 200 holes and 162 holes of raising seeding pot type were not all significant, and field rooting percentage is accounted for all 94 to 95%. Yield of a foxtail millet was exposed in 406holes 305 kg/10a>162holes 303 kg> 200holes 302 kg order, and it was no significance between test processing. When it's the raising seeding transplanting culture, in case of pot culture, 406holes pot culture were reduced the bed soil cost 63%, pot 50%, working hours 18% for 200holes pot. Transplanting seedling quality per a foxtail millet transplanting culture method, dry weight was high inclination as transplanting number of plant is less, and field rooting percentage displayed more than all 95%. Yield appeared to 2 plants seedling transplanting 315kg/10a> 3 plants seedling transplanting 304kg>1 plant seedling transplanting 256kg order. The projected cost per the pot-sort on the raising seeding transplanting culture of foxtail millet, the seedling transplanting culture of 406holes was reduced 40% percentages compared to 200holes as 76,230won/10a. As a result, 406holes pot and 2plants seedling transplanting culture, labor-saving culture was possible.
This experiment was conducted to investigate the effect of raising seedling methods of cold water, low night temperature, and abandoned mine on forcing culture of strawberry. The results were as follows ;1. $17^{\circ}C$ cold water alone and cold water plus 8-hour short day treatments significantly accelerated the flower bud differentiation of Nyoho cultivar to 11 and 15 days, respectively, comparing to common soil raising seedling.2. The date of flower bud differentiation of Nyoho cultivar as influenced by cold water treatment the 17th, the 13th and the 10th of September, respectively, when the seedlings were treated on the 10th of September and on the 25th and the 10th of August in 1991. In 1992, data showed that the flower bud differentiation dates were the 4th and the 2nd of September and the 29th of August when cold water treatment was done on the 10th of August and on the 25th and the 10th of July.3. The first harvest date when Nyoho cultivar was treated by cold water for 30days from Jul. 25 was Nov. 10, this implying that the harvesting day could advanced to 19 days comparing to that by the common soil raising seedling method. The resulting yield was recorded to 21.94 ton per hectare.4. Regardless of the starting date of the treatment, $13^{\circ}C$ low night temperature plus 8-plus short day treatments for 20 days required 17 days to differentiate the flower bud of Nyoho cultivar. Harvesting day could be advanced to 59 days comparing to that by the common raising seedling method when the seedling was treated on July 25, this resulting in increasing the total yield obtained by April 14 of following year to 8.25 ton per hectare.5. When the seedlings of both Nyoho and Hokowase cultivars were raised under the condition of abandoned mine, flowering and harvest date were earlier by the treatment for 20 days than that for 30 days or 40 days. The highest yiesd obtained was recorded in Nyoho cultivar or 1.88 ton per hectare.

This study examined the working site environment of Korean native cattle raising farmers and their actual condition of wearing personal protective equipment as part of preventing disasters during agricultural work. To this end, 160 Korean cattle raising farmers were surveyed and a site visit was performed on 10 farms. According to an examination of the cattle breeding environment, the major harmful factors were in the following order: fine dust (12.8%), organic feed dust (10.3%), contact with cattle (9.7%), manure (8.2%), germs and viruses (8.1%), harmful gases (7.4), contact with obstacles (6.7), and temperature (6.6%). The current status of the rate of wearing protection was in the order of gloves (20.9%), working hats (19.7%), boots (19.6%), masks (10.9%), protective clothing (8.9%), and specialized working clothing (6.6%). Nevertheless, most Korean cattle raising farmers recognized the risks when they did not wear protective equipment and the need for wearing protectors, but they mostly did not wear personal protective equipment due to a lack of knowledge on the selection of appropriate personal protective equipment and the discomfort they experience when they put on protectors. Even when they put on protective equipment, 38% was inappropriate for the farming work environment. Given the research results, improvements on and the development of specialized working clothing and personal protective equipment to protect farmers from harmful and dangerous materials from the cattle nurturing environment is necessary. Overall, based on the study data, objectified data collection, a determination of the necessary performance elements of personal protective equipment, and R&D will be needed through an on-site current status investigation.

Kinetics of the substitution reaction of [pt[dien]X]$^+$(X = $Cl^-$, $Br^-$, $I^-$) with NO2- in aqueous solution were investigated by a spectrophotometric method at $20-35^{\circ}C$ and 1-1500 bars. The rates of these reactions were increased with raising temperature and pressure. The relative reactivities of replaceable ligands in [pt[dien]X]$^+$ follow the order ($Cl^-$ > $Br^-$ > $I^-$). Activation volumes (${\mid}{\Delta}V^{\neq}{\mid}$) were large negative values and decreased with raising temperature. First ($k_1$) and second($k_2$) order rate constants of these reactions were determined at $25^{\circ}C$ and both $k_1$ and $k_2$ were increased with raising pressure and activation volumes (${\Delta}{V_1}^{\neq}$, ${\Delta}{V_2}^{\neq}$) for the $k_1$ and $k_2$ path were large negative values respectively. The $k_1$ and $k_2$ of these reactions were determined at 1 bar and these values were increased with raising temperature. Activation parameters of $k_1$ and $k_2$ path were determined, therefore it can be inferred frp, these results that the substitution reactions of [pt[dien]X]$^+$ with ${NO_2}^-$ proceed through on associative (A) mechanism independent of a leaving groups and reaction paths.
This study was conducted to clarify on germination rate enhancement effect and to develope the growing seedling method on Sorbus commixta Hedl. The results were follows; The optimum temperature of stratification and germination of mountain ash was $5^{\circ}C$ the seed germination rate in wet stratification with sand at $5^{\circ}C$ for 90 days was 22.6% and the highest germination of 78.9% was observed when seed was soaked in BA 200ppm for 20 minute after stratification for 90 days at $5^{\circ}C$. The highest germination of large chinese hawthorn was 11.1% when seed was soaked BA 50ppm for 20 minute after stratification 90 days at $5^{\circ}C$. Emergence ratio in box raising seedling and pot seedling showed high, 93 and 95%. Root length and dry root weight in pot seedling for 50 days showed higher than that of direct seedling and box raising seedling, Plant height and dry leaf weight in box raising seedling showed higher than that of pot seedling and direct seedling. The growth increment of seedling was high between 40 days and 50 days after seedling. The excellent seedling of mountain ash was produced in pot seedling for 50 days.
The purpose of this study is to enrich our understanding of the family utilizing childcare by grandmothers and the elderly women by examining the experience of grandmothers who refused to support raising their grandchildren. The researcher focused on grandmothers who have been in charge of caring the family in the main and tried to explore the reasons for their decision not to take care of their grandchildren. For the purpose, Research participants were seven elderly women who have refused raising of their grand-children. Data were collected by in-depth interview and analyzed based on the phenomenological method. As results, it turned out that the elderly women refused caring of their grandchildren due to the burden of parenting and the rejection of an extended mother role, and the fear of family conflicts, but they felt sorry about their refusal of a request for caring support from their adult children. Second. these decisions caused various dynamics of the family members, and they were experiencing psychological difficulties. Third, elderly women perceived raising of grandchildren as a task of adult children or a problem for which the society should be accountable, and felt that the family and the society have shifted the responsibility to them. This research result confirms that a new generation of the elderly women have emerged who have different viewpoints on caregiving. It also presents a necessity to reflect the viewpoints of elderly who are mainly concerned when establishing a policy of caregiving. Based on this finding, this study also presents implications regarding support for family utilizing childcare by grandmothers and support for the elderly women.
There has been a sharp increase in the number of grandmothers raising grandchildren in contemporary Korean society. However, little is known about the complexity of the experiences of the custodial grandparenting. Most of the studies mainly examined burden/cost and have paid little attention to the positive aspects of custodial grandparenting. In order to overcome this limitation of previous research, this study aims 1) to examine not only the costs but also the rewards of custodial grandparenting and to explore related factors, 2) to develop the typology based on relative rewards-burden perception of grandmothers about custodial grandparenting and explore the group differences. The data were gathered from 449 grandmothers raising their grandchildren as a primary caregiver, using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, hierarchical multiple regression and ANOVA, with SPSS WIN 12.0 program. Main findings are as follows: First, custodial grandmothers report not only care-giving burden such as physical burnout and economic burden but also various rewards such as joy of watching their grandchildren grow and feeling good about themselves to be a help with their adult children, i.e. grandchildren's father or mother. Second, factors related to the level of perceived cost of grandparenting are different from the factors affecting the positive aspects of grandparenting. Third, results of the two by two cross-tab analysis based on the level of rewards and burden show that about 32 percent of the grandparents belong to Type II group(high rewards-low cost). This result is quite contrary to the assumption of previous research focusing mostly on cost and burden of custodial grandparenting. Fourth, four groups were different in terms of grandmother & grandchildren's characteristics. Implications of these results are discussed.
Objective: The objective of this study was to compare the feeding value, meat nutrients and associative effects of a diet comprised of various corn silages inclusion with peanut vine or wheat straw in finishing beef cattle. Methods: One hundred and eighty Simmental crossbred beef steers were blocked and assigned to the follow treatments: i) whole plant corn silage-based diet (control, WPCS), ii) mixed forages-based diet (replacing a portion of corn silage with wheat straw, WPCSW), iii) corn stalklage-based diet (CS), and iv) sweet corn stalklage-based diet (SCS). Each group consisted of 5 repeated pens with 9 steers/pen. The diets were formulated to be isonitrogenous and isoenergetic with same forage to concentrate ratio. Experimental diets were fed for 90 d. Results: The effective ruminal degradability of dry matter and crude protein were highest for WPCS diet (p<0.05), for neutral detergent fiber was highest in SCS diet (p<0.05). The average daily gain was greater for cattle offered the WPCS diet, intermediate with WPCSW and SCS and lowest with CS (p<0.001). The concentration of non-esterified fatty acid in serum was higher for steers fed with CS and SCS diets than those offered WPCS and WPCSW steers (p<0.001). The treatments did not affect the general nutritional contents and amino acids composition of Longissimus dorsi of steers (p>0.05). Conclusion: The corn silage-based diet exhibited the highest feeding value. The sweet corn stalklage and wheat straw as an alternative to corn silage offered to beef cattle had limited influence on feeding value and meat nutrients. However, the value of a corn stalklage-based diet was relatively poor. To sum up, when the high quality forage resources, such as corn silage, are in short supply, or the growth rate of beef cattle decreases in the later finishing period, the sweet stalklage and wheat straw could be used as a cheaper alternative in feedlot cattle diet without sharp reducing economic benefits.
The purpose of this study was to investigate parenting experiences among grandmothers raising their grandchildren from grandmothers' perspective, and a variety of their physical health, psychological and social challenges they were facing in everyday life. In addition, this study explored new issues, changes, and difficulties grandparents and their grandchildren were going through during the COVID-19 pandemic. Seven grandmothers raising their grandchildren without their cohabiting parents participated in an in-depth interview, and the qualitative date were obtained using semi-structured questionnaires. Analyses identified 5 main categories: 1) my emotion, worries, and coping with parenting grandchildren, 2) difficulties and obstacles facing in real life of the parenting, 3) conflicts and coping with growing grandchildren who showed new characters, 4) relationships and emotions among grandparents, parents, and grandchildren, and 5) needs and desires toward social services and support. Sixteen themes and 60 sub-themes were also derived. The majority of grandmothers expressed diverse difficulties in their dail y lives including ambivalent emotions regarding grandchild-rearing(rewards and burden), economic hardships, physical health limitations, and a lack of communications with their grandchildren. Further, findings indicated profound generation conflicts which had been even deepened during school close period in COVID-19 pandemic and had been associated with increased hours of using internet and playing computer games. The top priority of the social service needs among interviewed grandmothers was learning support for their grandchildren. Emotional support and social support to cover their lack of family interactions, and financial support were the next of their desired social services. Implications to improve social services for grandparent-headed families are discussed.
This study was carried out to investigate the minimum days for raising infant rice seedling with different temperature (day/night $^{\circ}C$ : 20/12, 25/18, 30/20) and to compare with seedling growth and rooting ability at 10 days after transplanting with endosperm-intacted and removed seedlings. The minimum days for raising infant rice seedling was shown differently with different temperatures, thus there were turned out by mat formation to be 10 days at 20/12$^{\circ}C$ (day/night), 8 days at 25/18$^{\circ}C$ and 6 days at 30/20$^{\circ}C$, respectively. Seedling height, leaf number and dry weight of top part at the minimum days for raising infant rice seedling were 8-12cm, 1.5-1.7 leaves and 6.9-7. 5cm per seedling, respectively. The seedling growth at 10 days after transplanting was better at high temperatures (25/18$^{\circ}C$) than low temperature (20/12$^{\circ}C$) at transplanting, and the growth of infant rice seedling with endosperm -intacted was better than that with endosperm-removed. This tedency was shown significantly in transplanting at 20/12$^{\circ}C$ (day/night) of 4 days seedling.
