Railroad a field of basic industries in Korea had developed as representative transportation means in the interior. But since the 1970s, its transport requirement decrease had influenced in reduced earning. Thus railroad try to find a various subsidiary earning creations. Among the various subsidiary earning creations, a plan of privately financed station buildings is constructing and using. For the mean time the privately financed station have been constructed by in a narrow sensible development. But now like a Yongsan areas surrounding stations development, comprehensive development think over surrounding stations in a wide sensible development. Yeongdeungpo Station the traffic center of the south part in Seoul had been constructed by privately financed station of Lotte Shopping Co. after 1987. Yeongdeungpo Station constructed station building is a successful example for profitable. The successful instance of Yeongdeungpo privately financed station investigates and devises comprehensive development as thinking over surrounding stations for more and more benefits.

The development of very high speed train system is a complex series of interrelated tasks, many of which have some degree of uncertainty associated with the successful outcome. Successful projects recognize and provide for the major uncertainties and technical unknowns with specific development strategies. The development strategies described in this paper incorporated the experiences of the advanced countries in high speed train technologies, the current technical status of Korean industries and the operating requirements of Korean High Speed Railway.

Transportation routes by land like a human being blood vessel should exist for economic and trade exchange in Northeast Asia. Thinking from this point of view. I believe that TSR(Trans Siberian Railroad) and TCR(Trans Chinese Railroad). which will be connected with I would like to talk about .not only the effects of various international railroads and their connections but also economic activation TKR(Trans Korean Railroad). can play important roles. In this study, and effects in Northeast Asia which will be resulted from various international railroads construction. I tried to figure out comparative superiority and comparative advantage of the trade structure and industries in South and North Korea to find out the possibility of economic unification in East Asia. especial1y in Northeast Asia. This study also includes the effort to find out how trade exchange between South and North Korea can be expanded as a result of being a member of East Asia economic zone.

RCM developed by American air industry in early 1960, its process is most realistic for some physical assets and it permits the system to maintain given function status through decision of demand about optimum maintenance. Therefore, many industries have selected RCM technique and have carried out RCM in order to solve many problems concerning maintenance management. Through the execution of RCM, we can solve actual problems And finally we will be able to develop more and more maintenance activities with RCM notion. In this study, we will consider the application of KTX-RCM which is set up with basic theory of RCM and constructed to improve trainset safety, availability and regularity of KTX, linking with CMMS(Computerized Maintenance Management System).

One dimensional collision analysis is often used to simulate a train-to-train coupling or collision accident. But there are various numerical modeling techniques utilized for dynamic models of rolling stocks such as a lumped-spring-mass model or a bar-mass model. In rolling stock industries, a lumped-spring-mass model is mainly applied without consideration of bogie attachments separately. In this case, a dynamic stiffness coefficient is introduced to compensate the overestimated car mass effects due to the linkage stiffness of bogies and seats. In this paper, the effects of dynamic stiffness coefficients and wheel-rail friction coefficients were studied by simulating a bar-mass model with bogie attachments separately.

This paper is focused on the adhesion control method to improve traction efficiency using the estimated adhesion for railway propulsion system. Recently, the wheel slippery is frequently occurred due to light weight of train and power increasement of traction parts. This phenomenon occurs a traction loss and a poor ride comport. Therefore, the adhesion control which is able to prevent the slippery and to control the traction on a maximum adhesion is absolutely needed. This paper introduces typical methods for adhesion control and proposes two novel adhesion methods using the estimated adhesion.

In this paper, a wayside signaling emulator systems developed for testing to carbone ATC/ATO/TWC systems adopted in SMRT(Seoul Metropolitan Rapid Transit Coperation) line 7, 8 is presented. Informations that are required to train movement with driverless, such as stations status, destination station, restriction speed and train modes are provided through the wayside signaling emulator. The developed emulator systems can be constructed to 1.5km testing tracks and the end points of track, are emulated to the arbitrary stations in SMRT line 7, 8.

The flywheel generator in use as a power source for experimental device can be large enough to generate the electric power to make it suitable for application in wide rage of industries. The proposed system pruduces the good performance for power control. In this paper, the validity of the flywheel for power storage is described and the new control method which applies the space vector control scheme are proposed. This system is superior to conventional power compensator in the aspect of stability improvement and it is possible to make the converter capacity small. Continuous operation by flywheel can be realized even during power network faults such as 1-line ground.

Reduction of $CO_2$ emission is one of major issues in the whole industries, especially transport system. Railroad companies in the advanced countries such as EU, Japan, etc. have made great efforts on the improvement of their systems including energy sources, operational efficiency and PR of achievement resulted. Recently, to emphasize the environment-friendly characteristics of the railroad as public transport, the importance of PR is emerging. The achievements were listed in annual, sustainability and corporate responsibility reports. And the superiority of railroad in $CO_2$ emission can be confirmed in web sites and simple advertizing materials. In this study, we proposed the PR programs of achievement and ongoing works in Korean railroad through the case studies on web-based and off-line programs of railroad companies in EU and Japan.
