  • Airborne radio communications, navigation, and identification equipments are the basic equipment of airplane. Airborne radio communications, navigation, and identification equipments are characterized by user's many quantitative and qualitative requirements. These equipment look like simple test and evaluation, but they have many complex factors. This paper describe the test and evaluation of airborne radio communications, navigation, and identification equipments.

  • As the increasing demand of the radio wave communication and teh progreessing of communication system, the radio interference of neighbor nations is rising in the improtant matter. This problem is a delicate matter which must be dealt diplomatically with by having a distinct technical basis. For our country, after the radio interference has been occurred in TRS service on the south seashore due to the base stations located at Fukuoka in Japan, the radio interference problem of neighbor nations has risen importantly. In this paper, therefore, we has measured the radio wave that reach from Fukuoka in Japan to Pusan in Korea and also collected dat by real-time.

  • In this paper, the proposed a narrowband interference cancellation techniques for the frequence sharing of Ultra wideband Impulse Radio communication system and narrowband communication system. In this system, the narrowband communication signals can cause intolerant interferences to Impulse Radio signals. In this paper, Ultra wideband Impulse Radio system have been analyzed in AWGN, MAI and NI(Narrowband Interference) environment. Also, performance improvement has been obtained by adopting an adaptive notch filtering scheme using Complex Filter Bank and CCI canceller. The results show that there is a substantial enhancement in performance by employing the adaptive notch filtering and/or CCI canceller.

  • Even though GNSS provides highly accurate navigation information all over the world, it is vulnerable to jamming in the electronic warfare due to its weak signal power. The United States and Korea have plans to use terrestrial navigation systems as back-up systems during outage of GNSS. In order to develop back-up systems of GNSS, an M&S software platform is necessary for performance evaluation of various vehicle trajectories and integrated navigation systems. In this paper a design method of an M&S software is proposed for evaluation of multiple radio positioning integration systems. The proposed M&S software consists of a navigation environment generation part, a navigation algorithm part, a GUI part and a coverage analysis part. Effectiveness of the proposed design method is shown by implementing an M&S software for the GPS, DME and eLoran navigation systems.

  • A physical model for reduction of Electromagnetic Interference(EMI) or its predecessors, Radio Noise, Electrical Noise, or Radio-Frequency-Interference(RFI), is a rapidly expanding digital technology. It covers the frequency spectrum from DC to about 3 GHz EMI is the poisoner which does not allow radio, TV, radar, navigation, and a lot of electrical, electro-mechanical, and electronic and communication devices, apparatus and systems to operate compatibly in a common frequency spectrum environment EMI can result in a jammed radio, heart pacer failures, navigation errors and many other either nuisance or catastrophic events. Therefore, it follows that this spectrum pollution problem has reached international levels of concern and must be dealt with m proportion to the safety and economic impact Involved.

Analysis of the Directional Group Delay of the Antenna for the Radio Navigation System (전파 항법시스템을 위한 안테나 방향별 군지연 분석)

  • This paper presents analysis results for the effect of the directional group delay of the antenna to implement a precision radio navigation system. The analysis was conducted through antenna simulation and test, and the test was performed in an anechoic chamber. The directional group delay of the antenna was calculated in phase-based analysis method. The results showed that a variation of up to 7.7ns in group delay occurred per antenna direction. The group delay variation from the analysis is 2.31 meters when converted into distance. It was tested using a real radio navigation system based on the time of arrival (TOA). The test verified the distance variation of 2.1 meters, and this value is similar to those obtained from the simulation and chamber test analysis.

  • To overcome the limitation of ground inspection for Navigational Aid, Korea Airport Corporation (KAC) developed a drone system for Navigational Aid inspection. This drone system has the advantage that they can inspect the air radio signal at the perspective of user (aircraft). Since drones have more free flight paths and easier control of flight speeds compared to aircrafts, drones can check sections of suspected airborne radio wave distortions at desired paths and speeds. Recently, with the acceleration of the development around the airport, there is a concern about the deterioration of the quality of radio signal of Navigational Aid. In order to analyze radio distortion of Navigational Aid, a radio wave environmental survey was conducted using drones. When the signal received by each flight path of the drone was measured, the origin of the reflected wave was identified by analyzing the section in which the radio signal was distorted.
