위치기반 서비스 강화를 위한 최적 데이터 필터링 기법 및 측위 시스템 적용 모델 (Optimal Fingerprint Data Filtering Model for Location Based Services)

  • Focusing on the rapid market penetration of smart phones, the importance of LBS (Location Based Service) is drastically increased. However, traditional GPS method has critical weakness caused by limited availability, such as indoor environment. WPS is newly attractive method as a widely applicable positioning method. In WPS, RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indication) data of all Wi-Fi APs (Access Point) are measured and stored into a huge database. The stored RSSI data in database make single radio fingerprint map. By the radio fingerprint map, we can estimate the actual position of target point. The essential factor of radio fingerprint database is data integrity of RSSI. Because of millions of APs in urban area, RSSI measurement data are seriously contaminated. Therefore, we present the unified filtering method for RSSI measurement data. As the results of filtering, we can show the effectiveness of suggested method in practical positioning system of mobile operator.

은닉 마르코프 모델을 이용한 실내 네트워크 맵 매칭 (Indoor Network Map Matching by Hidden Markov Model)

  • 최근 다양한 센서들의 성능 개선으로 실내측위가 가능해졌다. 하지만 Wi-Fi 라디오 맵을 이용한 실내 측위나 가속도 센서와 디지털 캠퍼스를 이용한 실내 측위는 아직 상당한 오차를 가지고 있어 지금까지의 연구는 실내 측위의 정확성을 높이는 측위 기술에 대해 많이 진행되었다. 하지만 좌표단위가 아닌 방 단위의 정확성을 가진 실내 맵 매칭이 가능하다면 Wi-Fi 라디오 맵, 가속도 센서 기반의 현재 실내측위기술로도 실내 서비스가 가능하다. 이에 본 연구는 방 단위의 정확성을 가지는 실내 맵 매칭을 위해, 실내 네트워크 맵 매칭에 대해 정의하고, 이를 수행하며 생기는 이슈들에 대해 살펴보고, 이를 해결하기 위해 은닉 마르코프 모델을 사용한 방안에 대해 제시한다.

Butterfly Log-MAP Decoding Algorithm

  • In this paper, a butterfly Log-MAP decoding algorithm for turbo code is proposed. Different from the conventional turbo decoder, we derived a generalized formula to calculate the log-likelihood ratio (LLR) and drew a modified butterfly states diagram in 8-states systematic turbo coded system. By comparing the complexity of conventional implementations, the proposed algorithm can efficiently reduce both the computations and work units without bit error ratio (BER) performance degradation.

  • This paper is to present map building of mobile robot using RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) technology and ultrasonic sensor. For mobile robot to perform map building, the mobile robot needs its localization and accurate driving in space. In this reason, firstly, kinematic modeling of mobile robot under non-holonomic constrains is introduced. Secondly, based on this modeling, a tracking controller is designed for tracking a given path based on backstepping method using Lyapunov function. The Lyapunov function is also introduced for proving the stability of the designed tracking controller. Thirdly, 2D map building is performed by RFID system, mobile robot system and ultrasonic sensors. The RFID mobile robot system is composed of DC motor, encoder, ultra sonic sensor, digital compass, RFID receiver and RFID antenna. Finally, the path tracking simulation results and map building experimental results are presented to show the effectiveness of the designed controller.

Efficient Indoor Location Estimation using Multidimensional Indexes in Wireless Networks

  • Since it is hard to use GPS for tracking mobile user in indoor environments, much research has focused on techniques using existing wireless local area network infrastructure. Signal strength received at a fixed location is not constant, so fingerprinting approach which use pattern matching is popular. But this approach has to pay additional costs to determine user location. This paper proposes a new approach to find user's location efficiently using an index scheme. After analyzing characteristics of RF signals, the paper suggests the data processing method how the signal strength values for each of the access points are recorded in a radio map. To reduce computational cost during the location determination phase, multidimensional indexes for radio map with the important information which is the order of the strongest access points are used.

  • Social media is considered a valuable platform for gathering and analyzing the collective and subconscious opinions of people in Internet and mobile environments, where they express, explicitly and implicitly, their daily preferences for brands and products. Extracting and tracking the various attitudes and concerns that people express through social media could enable us to categorize brands and decipher individuals' cognitive decision-making structure in their choice of brands. We investigate the cognitive network structure of consumers by building an inter-category map through the mining of big data. In so doing, we create an improved online recommendation model. Building on economic sociology theory, we suggest a framework for revealing collective preference by analyzing the patterns of brand names that users frequently mention in the online public sphere. We expect that our study will be useful for those conducting theoretical research on digital marketing strategies and doing practical work on branding strategies.

맵 매칭 알고리즘을 이용한 실내 위치 추정 정확도 개선에 대한 연구 (A Study on Improving Indoor Positioning Accuracy Using Map Matching Algorithm)

  • Due to the unavailability of global positioning system (GPS) indoors, various indoor pedestrian positioning methods have been designed to estimate the position of the user using received signal strength (RSS) measurements from radio beacons, such as wireless fidelity (WiFi) access points and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) beacons. In indoor environments, radio-frequency (RF) signals are unpredictable and change over space and time because of multipath associated with reflection and refraction, shadow fading caused by obstacles, and interference among different devices using the same frequencies. Therefore, the outliers in the positional information obtained from the indoor positioning method based on RSS measurements occur often. For this reason, the performance of the positioning method can be degraded by the characteristics of the RF signal. To resolve this issue, a map-matching (MM) algorithm based on maximum probability (MP) estimation is applied to the indoor positioning method in this study. The MM algorithm locates the aberrant position of the user estimated by the positioning method within the limits of the adjacent pedestrian passages. Empirical experiments show that the positioning method can achieve higher positioning accuracy by leveraging the MM algorithm.

Radio environment maps: The survey of construction methods

  • Radio environment maps (REMs) and geolocation database represent an important source of information for the operation of cognitive radio networks, replacing or complementing spectrum sensing information. This paper provides a survey of methods for constructing the radio frequency layer of radio environment map (RF-REM) using distributed measurements of the signal levels at a given frequency in space and time. The signal level measurements can be obtained from fixed or mobile devices capable of sensing radio environment and sending this information to the REM. The signal measurements are complemented with information already stored in different REM content layers. The combined information is applied for estimation of the RF-REM layer. The RF-REM construction methods are compared, and their advantages and disadvantages with respect to the spatial distribution of signal measurements and computational complexity is given. This survey also indicates possible directions of further research in indirect RF-REM construction methods. It emphasizes that accurate RF-REM construction methods should in the best case support operation with random and clustered signal measurements, their operation should not be affected by measurements outliers, and it must estimate signal levels comparably on all RF-REM locations with moderate computational effort.

CAF Map을 이용한 위성전파 혼신원의 위치추적 (Location Estimation of Satellite Radio Interferer Using CAF Map)

  • 본 논문에서는 위성 통신 네트워크에서 유해전파를 송신하는 미지의 유해 혼신원의 위치를 추정하기 위해 교차모호함수 맵을 이용하는 방법에 대해 제안한다. 유해 혼신원의 위치를 추정하기 위해 지구국에 수신된 유해전파 신호들 간의 수신 시간차와 유해 혼신원 혹은 수신 지구국들의 움직임으로 발생하게 되는 주파수 차를 구해야 하는데, 이 수신 시간차와 주파수 차를 구하기 위해 교차모호 함수가 이용된다. 교차모호 함수를 이용하여 시간 차와 주파수 차를 구하는 과정을 일정한 시간 간격으로 수행하고 이 값들 간의 상관 값을 구하여 최종적인 유해 혼신원의 위치를 추정한다. 실험 결과 $E_b/N_0$가 10~4 dB에서는 약 800 m오차가 발생하였고, $E_b/N_0$가 -20 dB에서는 약 13 km의 오차가 발생하였다.

다중 공간변수와 전파예측 모델을 통합한 USN 중계 경로망도 제작 (Mapping USN Route by Integrating Multiple Spatial Parameters into Radio Propagation Model)

  • USN의 중계경로에 대한 연구는 주로 비공간 데이터를 위주로 이루어지고 있으며 지도 중첩법에 의한 공간분석이 이루어지지 않아 신뢰성에서 한계를 노출하고 있다. 본 연구는 공간변수별로 가중치를 부여하고 전파 확산 예측모델과 연계하여 전계강도를 산출하고 이에 의거하여 중계망의 분포를 지도화하였다. 전파장애에 개입되는 다양한 공간 변수를 통합하여 제작된 컴퓨터 지도는 기존에 조사지점에만 국한된 통계 수치정보가 지닌 한계를 극복하고 시청각 효과를 이용하여 광역적인 중계망 변화 추이를 시각적으로 제시하였다. 개별 셀과 연구지역 전체에 대해 전파중계망에 대한 정량적인 근거는 다양한 자료처리능력, 신속성을 바탕으로 지금까지는 불가능했던 전파 중계망에 대한 실시간 지도화 기능을 제공하였고 노드의 장애가 발생하였을 경우 대안을 마련하기 위한 보조수단으로서 활용가치가 매우 높을 것으로 사료된다.
