This study is intended to evaluate the dependency of TRU recycling characteristics on the neutron spectrum shift in a Pb-Bi cooled core. Considering two Pb-Bi cooled cores with the soft and the hard spectrum, respectively, various characteristics of the recycled core are carefully examined and compared with each other. Assuming very simplified fuel cycle management with the homogeneous and single region fuel loading, the burnup calculations are performed until the recycled core reached to the (quasi-) equilibrium state. The mechanism of TRU recycling toward the equilibrium is analyzed in terms of burnup reactivity and the isotopic compositions of TRU fuel. In the comparative analyses, the difference in the recycling behavior between the two cores is clarified. In addition, the basic safety characteristics of the recycled core are also discussed in terms of the Doppler coefficient, the coolant loss reactivity coefficient, and the effective delayed neutron fraction.
We obtain new fixed point theorems on maps defined on "locally G-convex" subsets of a generalized convex spaces. Our first theorem is a Schauder-Tychonoff type generalization of the Brouwer fixed point theorem for a G-convex space, and the second main result is a fixed point theorem for the Kakutani maps. Our results extend many known generalizations of the Brouwer theorem, and are based on the Knaster-Kuratowski-Mazurkiewicz theorem. From these results, we deduce new results on collectively fixed points, intersection theorems for sets with convex sections and quasi-equilibrium theorems.
New fixed Point results for the (equation omitted) selfmaps ale given. The analysis relies on a factorization idea. The notion of an essential map is also introduced for a wide class of maps. Finally, from a new fixed point theorem of ours, we deduce some equilibrium theorems.
Supercritical fluid technology has been an alternative for purification and separation of biological compounds in cosmetic, food, and pharmaceutical products. Solubility information of biological compounds in supercritical fluids is essential for choosing a supercritical fluid processes. The equilibrium solubility of hinokitiol was measured in supercritical carbon dioxide with a static method in the pressure range from 8 to 40 MPa and at temperatures equal to 313.2, 323.2 and 333.2 K. The experimental data were correlated well by Peng.Robinson equation of state and quasi-chemical nonrandom lattice fluid model.

This paper is concerned with the dynamics of hyperelastic solids and structures. We seek for a smart control actuation that produces a desired (prescribed) displacement field in the presence of transient imposed forces. In the literature, this problem is denoted as displacement tracking, or also as shape morphing problem. One talks about shape control, when the displacements to be tracked do vanish. In the present paper, it is assumed that the control actuation is provided by imposed eigenstrains, e.g., by the electric field in piezoelectric actuators, or by thermal actuators, or via analogous physical effects, such as magneto-striction or pre-stress. Structures with a controlled eigenstrain-type actuation belong to the class of smart structures. The action of the eigenstrains can be conveniently characterized by actuation stresses. Our theoretical derivations are performed in the framework of the theory of small incremental dynamic deformations superimposed upon a statically pre-deformed configuration of a hyperelastic solid or structure. We particularly ask for a distribution of incremental actuation stresses, such that the incremental displacements follow exactly a prescribed trajectory field, despite the imposed incremental forces are present. An exact solution of this problem is presented under the assumption that the actuation stresses can be tailored freely and applied everywhere within the body. Extending a Neumann-type solution strategy, it is shown that the actuation stresses due to the distributed control eigenstrains must satisfy certain quasi-static equilibrium conditions, where auxiliary body-forces and auxiliary surface tractions are to be taken into account. The latter auxiliary loading can be directly computed from the imposed forces and from the desired displacement field to be tracked. Hence, despite the problem is a dynamic one, a straightforward computation of proper actuator distributions can be obtained in the framework of quasi-static equilibrium conditions. Necessary conditions for the functioning of this concept are presented. Particularly, it must be required that the intermediate configuration is infinitesimally superstable. Previous results of our group for the case of shape control and displacement tracking in linear elastic structures are included as special cases. The high potential of the solution is demonstrated via Finite Element computations for an irregularly shaped four-corner plate in a state of plain strain.
In this work, two dimensional (2D) and quasi three-dimensional (quasi-3D) HSDTs are proposed for bending and free vibration investigation of functionally graded (FG) plates using hyperbolic shape function. Unlike the existing HSDT, the proposed theories have a novel displacement field which include undetermined integral terms and contains fewer unknowns. The material properties of the plate is inhomogeneous and are considered to vary continuously in the thickness direction by three different distributions; power-law, exponential and Mori-Tanaka model, in terms of the volume fractions of the constituents. The governing equations which consider the effects of both transverse shear and thickness stretching are determined through the Hamilton's principle. The closed form solutions are deduced by employing Navier method and then fundamental frequencies are obtained by solving the results of eigenvalue problems. In-plane stress components have been determined by the constitutive equations of composite plates. The transverse stress components have been determined by integrating the 3D stress equilibrium equations in the thickness direction of the FG plate. The accuracy of the present formulation is demonstrated by comparisons with the different 2D, 3D and quasi-3D solutions available in the literature.

A simplified method for determining the mode components of the strain energy release rate of free-edge delaminations in laminated composite is proposed. The interlaminar stresses are evaluated as an interface moment and interface shear forces that are obtained from the equilibrium equations at the interface between the adjacent layers. Deformation of an edge-delaminated laminate is calculated by using a generalized quasi-three dimensional classical laminated plate theory developed by the authors. The analysis provides closed-form expression for the three components of the strain energy release rate. Comparison of results with a finite element solution using the virtual crack closure technique shows good agreement. In the present study, laminated composite with stacking sequences of [30/-30/90]$_{s}$ were examined. The simple nature of the method makes it suitable for primary design analysis for the delaminations of laminated composite.e.

In a cryogenic propellant tank the pressurant is contracted due to heat loss and the propellant itself evaporates. On a restartable propulsion system such phenomena are more intensive because the propellant contacts with the pressurant on the larger surface during the coast flight. Such heat and mass transfer phenomena should be considered for estimating the amount of pressurant. On the hypothesis that the heat and mass transfer quasi-equilibrium is achieved during the coast flight, the calculation process of the equilibrium pressure is presented. On the process the amount of loaded helium on the Falcon-1 second stage is calculated.

It is necessary to resolve the absolute velocity as well as Mach number to reflect the high temperature effect in high speed flow. So this region is classified as high enthalpy flows distinguished from high speed flows. Many facilities, such as arc-jet, shock tunnel, etc. has been used to obtain the high enthalpy flows at the ground level. However, it is difficult to define the exact test condition in this type of facilities, because some chemical reactions and energy transfer take place during the experiments. In the present study, a quasi 1D code considering the thermochemical non-equilibrium effect is developed to effectively estimate the test condition of a shock tunnel. Results show that the code gives reasonable solution compared with the results from the known experiments and 2D axisymmetric simulations.
