  • The purpose of this study is analysis of to investigate relation proportion problem of mathematics textbooks of 7th curriculum to proportional reasoning(relative thinking, unitizing, partitioning, ratio sense, quantitative and change, rational number) of Lamon's proposal at sixth grade students. For this study, I develop two test papers; one is for proportion problem of mathematics textbooks test paper and the other is for proportional reasoning test paper which is devided in 6 by Lamon. I test it with 2 group of sixth graders who lived in different region. After that I analysis their correlation. The result of this study is following. At proportion problem of mathematics textbooks test, the mean score is 68.7 point and the score of this test is lower than that of another regular tests. The percentage of correct answers is high if the problem can be solved by proportional expression and the expression is in constant proportion. But the percentage of correct answers is low, if it is hard to student to know that the problem can be expressed with proportional expression and the expression is not in constant proportion. At proportion reasoning test, the highest percentage of correct answers is 73.7% at ratio sense province and the lowest percentage of that is 16.2% at quantitative and change province between 6 province. The Pearson correlation analysis shows that proportion problem of mathematics textbooks test and proportion reasoning test has correlation in 5% significance level between them. It means that if a student can solve more proportion problem of mathematics textbooks then he can solve more proportional reasoning problem, and he have same ability in reverse order. In detail, the problem solving ability level difference between students are small if they met similar problem in mathematics text book, and if they didn't met similar problem before then the differences are getting bigger.

  • In this study, three knee-orthoses (dial lock type, medium size, right side) were used for a quality level test (static bending test and solidity test of the locking system) of the knee-orthosis locking system. In the static bending test, a smaller maximum load was observed in samples A and C compared to the reference standard value (KS P 8408 standard value: 1000 N, sample A: 865 N, sample C: 833 N). In addition, in the solidity test of the locking system, a smaller maximum load was observed in the all samples compared to the referenced standard value (KS P 8411 standard value: 200 N, sample A: 41 N, sample B: 97 N, sample C: 54 N). Korean industrial standards for knee-orthoses and systematic test methods are lacking. Therefore, a systematic management plan for knee-orthoses is required. The result of the current study showed that a systematic management plan for the knee-orthosis locking system is required. In particular, the development of a quantitative and objective test method is needed. The findings of the current study may be useful for monitoring the quality of the knee-orthosis locking system and may provide foundational information for the development of a quantitative and objective test method.

  • The current comparison methods with scoring systems that are used to compare visualized latent fingerprints (LF) have disadvantages. Evaluators using these methods are prone to make errors and fail to discriminate LFs correctly to notice the differences among those LFs. Therefore, a comparative and quantitative evaluation method that is capable of obtaining more objective and quantitative results is needed. Densitometric image analysis (DIA) is used in other fields as a reliable semi-quantitative comparison method. To apply DIA to LFs, the potential variables that can occur during the DIA process were tested. The visualized ridges of LFs can be compared using the concentration of dots against the background to make it possible to analyze the ridges with DIA. The variables that can be present during the DIA process include the thickness of the analysis line, the number of ridges to be taken, the number of divided zones within each of the fingerprints, and the angles of the analysis line against the ridge lines that were selected. From the analysis of the inked fingerprints and circular lines that are similar to fingerprints, the angle of the analysis lines with the ridge line was the most significant variable. The preliminary test result was applied to the comparison of LFs that were developed with the powder method and then compared with the AFIS analysis. A similar trend was found, and a more detailed and semi-quantitative comparison of the visualized LFs was possible. In the future, it is necessary to check the evaluative ability of the DIA method by analyzing the visualized LFs with other various development methods. However, DIA is currently an option that can be used as an objective comparative evaluation method during fingerprint studies with supplementary role.

  • Qualitative and quantitative PCR methods were performed to examine detection and quantitation of epsps inserted into genetically modified soybean (GMS) in processed foods, soy milk, tofu, and biji (soybean curd residue). Using PCR amplification to produce two (121 and 330 bp) epsps in GMS, detection limits of GMS in soy milk, tofu, and biji containing 0.01% GMS were measured. For quantitative detection, test samples containing 1, 3, and 5% GMS were measured by real-time PCR method. Results show real-time PCR method is applicable to detect GMS quantitatively in processed foods.

  • Half-P.C. slab system is the composite structural system which utilizes precast concrete for lower portion and cast in situ concrete for upper portion slab. When the composite slab using Half P.C. slab is deformed by flexural moment, horizontal shear happened at the interface between Half P.C. slab and topping concrete. To resist horizontal shear strength a scratch method has tried. To determine ultimate interface shear strength, shear stress, and shear coefficient, high and normal strength concrete are used for topping concrete. Major variables are compressive strength of topping concrete with or without shear reinforcement, quantitative roughness of the P.C. :surface and tie or untie of the stud with welded deformed wire fabric in the P.C. member. The Icross sectional area on joints is 3,200 $cm^2$ in all specimens. Test results showed that shear stress increased, as the depth of the quantitative roughness increased. The horizontal shear strength could be resisted with safe by the quantitative roughness without shear tie. A shear coefficient determinant equation is proposed such that K = 0.025918 + 0.0068894$\cdot$R – 0.000182354${\cdot}R^2$

  • Diagnostic display monitor QA according to AAPM TG18 is usually performed by PACS administrator, product manager and reading doctor, and for acceptance testing and periodic quality control evaluation, a combination of visual and quantitative tests can be used, as outlined in sections 5 and 6 of 'assessment of display performance for medical imaging systems'. Although many display tests can be performed visually, a more objective and quantitative evaluation of display performance requires special test tools. The required instruments vary in their complexity and cost, depending on the context of the evaluation(research, acceptance testing, or quality control) and how thorough the evaluation needs to be. Objective and reliable assessment of many display characteristics can be performed with relatively inexpensive equipment, So, we made 'AAPM TG18 guiding instrument' to ues variable purpose of the evaluation of 'geometrical distortions(quantitative"', 'veiling glare(visual)' and 'sensor calibration'. The spatial measurements for the quantitative evaluation of geometric distortions, and the measurement of the veling-glare ring response function which provides information regarding the spatial extent of the luminance spread, can be performed using the TG18 guiding instrument can be used to sensor calibration to standardize the basic rate of 0% luminance when periodic calibration.

  • Objective: To correlate CT parameters on detector-based dual-energy CT enterography (DECTE) with Crohn's disease activity index (CDAI) and externally validate quantitative CT parameters. Materials and Methods: Thirty-nine patients with CD were retrospectively enrolled. Two radiologists reviewed DECTE images by consensus for qualitative and quantitative CT features. CT attenuation and iodine concentration for the diseased bowel were also measured. Univariate statistical tests were used to evaluate whether there was a significant difference in CTE features between remission and active groups, on the basis of the CDAI score. Pearson's correlation test and multiple linear regression analyses were used to assess the correlation between quantitative CT parameters and CDAI. For external validation, an additional 33 consecutive patients were recruited. The correlation and concordance rate were calculated between real and estimated CDAI. Results: There were significant differences between remission and active groups in the bowel enhancement pattern, subjective degree of enhancement, mesenteric fat infiltration, comb sign, and obstruction (p < 0.05). Significant correlations were found between CDAI and quantitative CT parameters, including number of lesions (correlation coefficient, r = 0.573), bowel wall thickness (r = 0.477), iodine concentration (r = 0.744), and relative degree of enhancement (r = 0.541; p < 0.05). Iodine concentration remained the sole independent variable associated with CDAI in multivariate analysis (p = 0.001). The linear regression equation for CDAI (y) and iodine concentration (x) was y = 53.549x + 55.111. For validation patients, a significant correlation (r = 0.925; p < 0.001) and high concordance rate (87.9%, 29/33) were observed between real and estimated CDAIs. Conclusion: Iodine concentration, measured on detector-based DECTE, represents a convenient and reproducible biomarker to monitor disease activity in CD.

  • Thyroid uptake measurements can be subject to measurement errors due to the scoping and positioning of the thyroid gland. To compensate for these limitations, the clinical utility of the thyroid simultaneous counting method as an alternative to thyroid uptake measurement was analyzed and evaluated experimentally through quantitative analysis of images acquired after thyroid scanning. Experimental data were obtained using a Gamma camera (GE infinia), a thyroid uptake system (KOROID 1), and a thyroid neck phantom. Based on the thyroid uptake rate of 1-5% according to the protocol of thyroid scan test (99mTcO4 - , 370 MBq) in normal results, 99mTcO4 - was set in the range of 3.7-18.5 MBq (Matrix: 256×256, Scan time: 1 min, collimator: pin hole, phantom-collimator distances: 7 cm). The acquired images were corrected for the attenuation of isotopes due to the set-up time and half-life by applying the Auto Region of interest (ROI) drawing system, and the significance of the experimental results was evaluated by Multiple linear regression analysis (SPSS, ver. 22, IBM). The thyroid uptake rate showed a significant correlation between the dose and the measured counts when using the thyroid uptake system equipment. Meanwhile, the quantitative analysis counts of phantom images using Gamma camera also showed a significant correlation. Thus confirmed that the correlation between these two experiments was statistically significant (P<0.05). The simultaneous counting protocol, which indirectly measures thyroid uptake from thyroid scans, is likely to be clinically relevant if complemented by additional studies with different variables in patients with thyroid disease.

  • Objectives : Although the thermo-sensitivity test in Well points in 12 Meridians(井穴知熱感度測定法) has been used for several decades, it is still performed by a manual way, and lack in objectivity consequently. To make it more objective, accurate and convenient test, we have developed a novel system to test thermo-sensitivity in Well points. Methods : To enhance the blindness of the test, we made a shielded system which give heat to some fingers of subjects in random way. To perform the test in quantitative manner, we developed a fully automated, computer-controlled system composed of heating bulbs and response button array. Results : The developed system showed linearity in heating the finger phantom. It also gave acceptable but interesting features in pilot tests with several young adult subjects. Conclusions : By the developed system, we could improve objectivity and convenience of the thermo-sensitivity test in Well points.

  • The study on mechanical behavior of the structure at the site includes experimental method and numerical analysis method. Experimental method is categorized into true-scale test and laboratory model test. A laboratory model test is to monitor the failure mechanism with a model simulated similar with a real ground so as to identify the quantitative result, while a true-scale model test is the approach which enables to identify the potential problems that may occur with a simulated construction situation similar with a real site circumstance. Thus this study was intended to carry out the experimental test of non open-cut excavation by pipe roof method which is mostly common in domestic sites. as well as was aimed at identifying the ground behavior occurred during pipe penetration using laboratory model test. Appropriate reduced-scale model was selected, taking into account of domestic geological characteristics and operation characteristics of traditional and high-speed rail trains and the qualitative evaluation of displacement was carried out based on a certain ground loss volume depending on excavation after categorizing trackbed settlement pattern by depth of top soil.
