  • The problem that we address is to determine the inventory stockage levels in a multi-echelon inventory system for repairable items in a multi-indenture system. We propose the simulation optimization approach to determine the stockage levels at each echelon, where a simulator for the underlying system is combined with an appropriate optimization tool, Genetic Algorithm (GA).

  • QFD(Quality Function Deployment) is design method which is focused to guarantee of quality and function to satisfy for customer’s need. QFD are used entire manufacturing, specially new production development and design. HOQ(House of Quality) are important tool of QFD, which is implement that complex function and communications of customer. Actually implementation of HOQ are difficult by HOQ's size. It is well known that complexity of HOQ are exponentially increasing by increasing of HOQ’s size. In this Paper, we study of HOQ Complexity reduction by Quantification Method of Type Ⅲ. That method is efficiency and minimize of loss information by reduction HOQ. We give example and prove our suggestion method is better than other methods.

  • HoQ (House of Quality) provides an effective tool not only to arrange and evaluate VoC (Voice of Customers) and VoE (Voice of Engineers), but also to link and combine VoC and VoE, thereby presenting explicit directions for quality improvement. There have been, however, few researches on the HoQ framework in the IT industry. The case study discussed here serves an illustration of the applicability and usefulness of the HoQ approach to website quality improvement. The proposed HoQ framework shows great potentials since customers needs are explicitly considered in the framework, and it helps website administrators develop better web services by providing guidelines for reengineering the website operations.

  • Data mining is a useful tool for analyzing data from different perspectives and for summarizing them into useful information. Recently, the data mining methods are applied to solving quality problems of the manufacturing processes. This paper discusses the problems of construction of a quality mining system, which is based on the various data mining methods. The quality mining system includes recipe optimization, significant difference test, finding critical processes, forecasting the yield. The contents and system of this paper are focused on the TFT-LCD manufacturing process. We also provide some illustrative field examples of the quality mining system.

  • Today, the quality of medical service has become a major concern because that sustainable development of IT technology and extending people's life expectancy. This paper, it is used as a tool for the medical information quality management that analyze tweets big data form generated by individual's daily. The result of the analyze big data offers improvement medical information based evidence based medicine. Also it has been possible for a trace observation of chronic disease and can reduce additional other complications of patients. Therefore, effective treatment of disease and prevention is possible.

  • A prerequisite for improving the quality of a product is to enhance the quality of its parts supplied from outsourced enterprises. An enterprise certified by ISO 9001 Quality Management System is expected to develop their effective quality assurance system and maintain it through continuous control and improvement, thereby ensuring the good quality of products that they produce. However, it is reported that small and medium-sized enterprises certified by ISO 9001 have difficulty establishing an effective quality assurance system. This study aims to propose a new method of improving a quality assurance system that can be more effective in small and medium-sized enterprises. This study collectively considered requirements specified in several international standards on quality system and the results of expert group brainstorming to identify evaluation areas and items for assessing a quality assurance system. Based on these evaluation areas and items, a set of checklists for diagnosing and improving a quality assurance system was developed. In order to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed method, this study applied it to ten small and medium-sized enterprises and could identify four approaches for improving their current quality assurance system. The presented improvement method, which consists of establishment of quality goals and quality innovation plan, defective products corrective activities, 4M and design change process, improvement of customer quality information management, is expected to be utilized as a useful tool for the enhancement of the quality assurance system of small and medium-sized enterprises.

Using the Maximin Criterion in Process Capability Function Approach to Multiple Response Surface Optimization (다중반응표면최적화를 위한 공정능력함수법에서 최소치최대화 기준의 활용에 관한 연구)

  • Response surface methodology (RSM) is a group of statistical modeling and optimization methods to improve the quality of design systematically in the quality engineering field. Its final goal is to identify the optimal setting of input variables optimizing a response. RSM is a kind of knowledge management tool since it studies a manufacturing or service process and extracts an important knowledge about it. In a real problem of RSM, it is a quite frequent situation that considers multiple responses simultaneously. To date, many approaches are proposed for solving (i.e., optimizing) a multi-response problem: process capability function approach, desirability function approach, loss function approach, and so on. The process capability function approach first estimates the mean and standard deviation models of each response. Then, it derives an individual process capability function for each response. The overall process capability function is obtained by aggregating the individual process capability function. The optimal setting is given by maximizing the overall process capability function. The existing process capability function methods usually use the arithmetic mean or geometric mean as an aggregation operator. However, these operators do not guarantee the Pareto optimality of their solution. Moreover, they may bring out an unacceptable result in terms of individual process capability function values. In this paper, we propose a maximin-based process capability function method which uses a maximin criterion as an aggregation operator. The proposed method is illustrated through a well-known multiresponse problem.

Applicability of Load Duration Curve to Nakdong River Wateished Management (낙동강 유역관리를 위한 부하량 유황곡선의 적용 가능성)

  • In this study a general analysis method for watersheds with the entire runoff conditions and corresponding water quality is proposed and its applicability based on the currently available information is investigated. Using the 8-day-interval data set of runoff and water quality observed by Nakdong River Environment Research Center, the flow duration curve and discharge-load relation curve for each unit watershed are established, then the load duration curve is finally constructed. This paper discusses how the load duration curve can be used in the assessment of TMDL. The entire Nakdong river watershed is also divided into prior managing areas of point sources or non-point sources in a way of general management. It is thought that LDC can be a great tool for visualizing overall probabilities of current water quality and thus for the TMDL management.

  • ${\overline{X}}$ control chart has proven to be an effective tool to improve the product quality. Shewhart charts assume that the observations are independent and normally distributed. Under the presence of positive autocorrelation and severe skewness, the control limits are not accurate because assumptions are violated- Autocorrelation in process measurements results in frequent false alarms when standard control chats are applied in process monitoring. In this paper, Threshold Bootstrap and Moving Block Bootstrap are used for constructing a confidence interval of correlated observations. Monte Carlo simulation studies are conducted to compare the performance of the bootstrap methods and that of standard method for constructing control charts under several conditions.

  • Appropriate performance evaluation is a key successful factor for continuous improvement and systematic management support in the implementation of quality management. This research deals with the development of a computer support system for performance evaluation of quality management and its application to a real world problem. It, first, investigates existing performance evaluation methods and classifies them into three styles. A number of key factors for designing computer support systems are then elicited by analyzing the characteristics of the existing methods in terms of the requirements needed for a successful evaluation tool. The computer support system is designed by incorporating the key factors in the system design process and it is implemented as a network version. Finally, a case study is performed in order to verify the proposed support system. The pros and cons of the system are also discussed.
