Establishment of Pre-Harvest Residue Limits (PHRL) of Flubendiamide and Pyriofenone on Strawberry (Fragaria ananassa Duch.) (생산단계 잔류허용기준설정을 위한 Flubendiamide 및 Pyriofenone의 딸기(Fragaria ananassa Duch.) 중 경시적 잔류특성 연구)

  • In this study, the residue patterns of flubendiamide and pyriofenone registered in the strawberry were investigated to predict pre-harvest residue limit (PHRL). The samples were harvested at 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 10 days after treatment and the pesticide residues were analyzed by HPLC/UVD. The limit of quantification (LOQ) was $0.01mg\;kg^{-1}$ for flubendiamide and pyriofenone. The recovery levels of flubendiamide and pyriofenone were $90.9{\pm}2.2%$ and $81.9{\pm}0.8%$, $87.7{\pm}2.1%$ and $85.3{\pm}1.1%$ for spiked levels of 0.01 and $0.1mg\;kg^{-1}$, respectively. The values of biological half-lives for field 1 and field 2 were 8.1 and 7.2 days for flubendiamide, 7.0 and 6.9 days for pyriofenone. According to these results, we recommends the level of PHRL on strawberry for flubendiamide and pyriofenone as 1.87 and $3.76mg\;kg^{-1}$ at 10 days before harvest, respectively.

Establishment of Pre-Harvest Residue Limits and Residue Characteristics of Penthiopyrad and Pyriofenone in Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) Under Greenhouse Condition (시설 내 오이(Cucumis sativus L.) Penthiopyrad 재배 중 및 Pyriofenone의 잔류특성과 생산단계 잔류허용기준 설정)

  • BACKGROUND: Greenhouse crops are one of agricultural products consumed largely in Korea. Cucumber is a typical example as main vegetables of greenhouse crops. Thus, pesticide residue analysis is an important requirement to guarantee pesticide safety of cucumber. This work was aim to investigate the residues of penthiopyrad and pyriofenone in cucumber after harvest. METHODS AND RESULTS: Cucumber was subjected to treat with penthiopyrad and pyriofenone at a level of recommended dose 0, 1, 2, 3, 5, 7 and 10 days before harvest under greenhouse conditions. The samples were extracted with organic solvent by using a homogenizer and purified on solid phase cartridge column followed by LC-MS/MS analysis. The recovery levels of penthiopyrad and pyriofenoneranged from approximately 81 to 93% with the method limit of 0.005 mg/kg and coefficient of variation less than 10%. Penthiopyrad and pyriofenone were detected at a level less than maximum residue limit in cucumber at 10 days before. The half-lives of penthiopyrad and pyriofenone were determined to 2.4 ~ 2.6 days. CONCLUSION: Penthiopyrad and pyriofenone are suggested to use in cucumber 10 days before harvest to reach their levels less than maximum residue limit.

Development of an Analytical Method for the Determination of Pyriofenone residue in Agricultural Products using HPLC-UVD (HPLC-UVD를 이용한 농산물 중 살균제 pyriofenone 분석법 확립)

  • Pyriofenone is an aryl phenyl ketone fungicide that is newly registered in Korea in 2013 to control powdery mildew on food. The objective of this study was to develop reliable and sensitive analytical method for determination of pyriofenone residue in agricultural products for ensuring the food safety. The pyriofenone residues in all samples(Korean melon, pepper, potato, mandarin, soybean, and hulled rice) were extracted with acetonitrile, partitioned with dichloromethane, and then purified with a silica cartridge. The purified samples were analyzed by HPLC-UVD and confirmed with LC-MS. The linear range of pyriofenone was 0.05~5 mg/kg with the correlation coefficient ($r^2$) > 0.999. Average recoveries of pyriofenone ranged from 72.8% to 99.5% at the spiked level of 0.05 and 0.5 mg/kg, while the relative standard deviation was 2.3%~6.4%. In addition, the limit of detection and limit of quantification were 0.01 and 0.05 mg/kg, respectively. The results revealed that the developed and validated analytical method was suitable for pyriofenone determination in agricultural products.
