  • The selection of suppliers and the determination of order quantities to be placed with those suppliers are important decisions in a supply chain. In this research, a non-linear mixed integer programming model is presented to select suppliers and determine the order quantities. The model considers the purchasing cost which takes into account quantity discount, the cost of transportation, the fixed cost for establishing suppliers, the cost for holding inventory, and the cost of receiving poor quality parts. The capacity constraints for suppliers, quality and lead-time requirements for the parts are also taken into account in the model. Since the purchasing cost, which is a decreasing step function of order quantities, introduces discontinuities to the non-linear objective function, it is not easy to employ traditional optimization methods. Thus, a heuristic algorithm, called particle swarm optimization (PSO), is used to find the (near) optimal solution. However, PSO usually generates initial solutions randomly. To improve the PSO solution quality, a heuristic procedure is proposed to find an initial solution based on the average unit cost including transportation, purchasing, inventory, and poor quality part cost. The results show that PSO with the proposed initial solution heuristic provides better solutions than those with PSO algorithm only.

  • In this study, consumers who have experience of visiting Jeongsun Arirang Market has been selected as samples to understand the characteristics of agricultural products purchase. For this, double hurdle model was used in order to resolve sample selection problem and obtain consistent estimator. The key points are the following. First, as the age increases(up to 59.8 years), chances of purchasing the products at traditional market increase as income increases. Second, when the residence area is outside of Gangwon-province, the purchase amount of the products increased compared to those from visitors within the Gangwon province. Also, visitors who use public transportations purchase less products compared to those who use their own car. Third, probability of agricultural products increase as the visitors consider positive effect the product purchase leads to the local farmers. Fourth, if the visitors consider the quality of the agricultural products, probability of purchasing agricultural product at the site increases. However, if the visitors consider the freshness of the agricultural products, the purchase amount rather drops. Fifth, the probability of purchase increases as visitors consider the brand of traditional market.

  • Fast fashion brand marketers should develop marketing strategies that effectively satisfy the values consumers seek when purchasing fast fashion brands. This study aimed to identify the consumption value factors of fast fashion brands and to reveal the value factors that influence attitudes toward purchasing fast fashion brands. Data were gathered by surveying university students in the Seoul metropolitan area using convenience sampling. Three hundred and five questionnaires were used in the statistical analysis, which consisted of exploratory factor analysis using SPSS and confirmatory factor analysis and path analysis using AMOS. The factor analysis revealed the following six value factors: Emotional value, social value, price/value for money, durability value, eco-value, and consistency value. The fit statistic for the six-factor model was quite acceptable. Two of the six value factors, emotional value and price/value for money, positively influenced attitudes toward purchasing fast fashion brands. The overall fits of the revealed model suggested that the model fit the data well. The results suggested that fast fashion marketers need to understand the value factors that motivate consumers to purchase fast fashion brands. In addition, marketers should focus their efforts on satisfying emotional value and price/value for money in order to establish their brands in the increasingly competitive fast fashion industry.

  • In the post-COVID-19, the food industry is rapidly reshaping its market structure toward online distribution. Rapid delivery system driven by large distribution platforms has ushered in an era of online distribution of fresh seafood that was previously limited. This study surveyed 1,000 consumers nationwide to determine their online seafood purchasing behaviors. The research methodology used factor analysis of consumer lifestyle and Heckman's ordered probit sample-selection model. The main results of the analysis are as follows. First, quality, freshness, selling price, product reviews from other buyers, and convenience are particularly important considerations when consumers purchase seafood from online shopping. Second, online retailers and the government must prepare measures to expand seafood consumption by considering household characteristics and consumer lifestyles. Third, it was analyzed that consumers trust the quality and safety of seafood distributed online platforms. It is not possible to provide purchase incentives to consumers who consider value consumption important, so improvement measures are needed. The results of this study are expected to provide implications on consumer preferences to online platforms, seafood companies, and producers, and can be used to establish future marketing strategies.

  • The purposes of this study were to explain consumer attitude, behavioral intention and behavior(expenses) in the purchase of Han-gwa and to explore the influencing factors on them. To achieve these purposes, the Heckman two-step model was utilized to utilize the recursive system of attitude, behavioral intention and behavior. The results of this study were as follows: 1) Seventy-six percent of consumers presented their favorable altitudes to purchase Han-gwa, while $47\%$ of consumers had behavioral intention for purchasing Han-gwa. In addition, purchasing expense of Han-gwa per year as a proxy variable of behavior was less than 100,000 won for most consumers. 2) First, consumer attitude was found to be significantly influenced by the type of family and food safety. Second, the behavioral intention for purchasing Han-gwa was found to be significantly influenced by consumer attitude, age, income, education and price. Finally, consumer behavior(expenses) of purchasing Han-gwa was found to be significantly influenced by the behavioral intention, income and purchasing place.

  • The main aim of study is to identify the factors that affect the purchasing intention of young adults. The reference group is an important factor in determining the underlying causes of young adults' purchasing intentions. However, the literature states that young adults prefer to buy brands they trust in order to eliminate the risks that may arise when buying products they may not know. Moving from this perspective, the study proposes a conceptual model that including structural relationships between brand trust, reference group, and purchasing intention. The study aims to contribute to the literature by discussing the moderator role of brand trust in this structure. A series of hypotheses are tested via a survey completed by 749 young people between the ages of 20 and 30 living in Istanbul, Turkey. The data were analyzed with IBM SPSS-23 and AMOS-18 program. In addition to descriptive, reliability, and factor (exploratory and confirmatory) analysis, hierarchical regression analysis was performed to test the research hypotheses. The results show that the reference group positively influences the purchasing intention, and brand trust plays a moderating role in this relationship. The findings are discussed and some practical suggestions are made for mobile phone manufacturers.

  • The Online business model for purchasing agent service is getting more popular. However, consumers perceive more risk when buying products from foreign online purchasing agents (FOPA) than from common online sellers (COS). This study focuses on finding out how consumers manage risk when they perceive risk and what different risk-reliever strategies they use when buying from high-risk FOPA and low-risk COS. This study has proved the following two. First, when consumers perceive risk at online purchasing, they tend to select risk-reliever strategies, such as the use of communication media, online assurance mark, seller's record, and secure payment to mitigate risk. With the application of those risk-reliever strategies, they built trust with the seller. Second, risk-perception of FOPA influences usage of communication media and check of online assurance mark more strongly than that of COS. On the contrary, risk-perception of COS influences the check of seller record more strongly than that of FOPA. This study helps to explain why FOPA is proliferating, despite its inherent high risk due to the fact that buyers and sellers are separated in time and space and that buyers and sellers have different social and cultural backgrounds. This study also helps managers of E-commerce to relieve consumer's risk-perception and to build trust.

  • This study aims to investigate the effects of e-purchasing on increasing transparency, expanding market access, and the efficiency of the government procurement process. This study also investigates how transparency of the procurement process, improved market access and the efficiency of the procurement process in e-purchasing will decrease the level of fraudulent government procurement in Indonesia. The questionnaires were distributed to the Procurement Service Units (ULP) of Local Governments through email. There are currently 542 ULPs in Indonesia based on the data of the Government Procurement Policy Institute (LKPP). However, only 520 ULPs had their email addresses traced, 120 ULP returned the questionnaires and the response rate is lower than it was expected. The data research was analyzed by a structural equation model (SEM) by using WarpPLS 7.0. The results reveal that the e-purchasing effect on the transparency, the expansion of market access, and the efficiency of the government procurement process. The other findings show the negative effect between efficiency in government procurement and fraud in government procurement. The findings of this study suggest that efficiency in the process of government procurement will minimize fraud in government procurement. However, transparency in government procurement and the expansion of market access was not sufficient to minimize fraud in government procurement.
