The growing application and the numerous qualities of induction motors (1M) in industrial processes that require high security and reliability levels has led to the development of multiple methods for early fault detection. However, various faults can occur, such as stator short-circuits and rotor failures. Traditionally the diagnosis machine is done through a sinusoidal power supply, in the present paper we study experimentally the effects of the rotor failures, such as broken rotor bars in function of the ac supplying, the load and show the impact of the converter from diagnosis of the machine. The technique diagnosis used is based on the spectral analysis of stator currents or stator voltages respectively according to the types of induction motor ac supplying. So, four different ac supplying are considered: ${\odot}$ the IM is directly by the balanced three-phase network voltage source, ${\odot}$ the IM is fed by a sinusoidal current source given the controlled by hysteresis, ${\odot}$ the IM is fed (in open loop) by a scalar control imposing through ratio V/f=constant, ${\odot}$ the IM is controlled through a vector control using space vector pulse width modulation (SVPWM) technique inverter with an outer speed loop.

Diode rectifier which can't be controlled output voltage and phase control converter as AC/DC converter have low power factor and harmonics of lower order in the line current. In this paper, three phase PWM(Pulse Width Modulation) AC/DC boost converter is studied to solve these problems. The characteristics of a proposed converter are to control the phase of current without current sensor as a very simple control algorithm using circuit parameters only and to apply sinusoidal PWM method with fixed switching frequency due to a difficult design of input filter and switching device. We simulate for the proposed algorithm that high power factor is achieved and DC link voltage has fast dynamic response without ripple in rectifying and regenerating operation. As a result of experiment with circuit parameter(inductor, capacitor) decided in simulation, the proposed converter had high power factor and reduction of low order harmonics as against diode rectifier.
In this paper a new generalized space vector pulse width modulation scheme is proposed based on the principle of reverse mapping to drive the switches of multilevel inverters. This projected scheme is developed based on the middle vector of the subhexagon which holds the tip of the reference vector, which plays a major role in mapping the reference vector. A new approach is offered to produce middle vector of the subhexagon which holds tip of the reference vector in the multilevel space vector plane. By using middle vector of the subhexagon, reference vector is linked towards the inner two level sub-hexagon. Then switching vectors, switching sequence and dwell times corresponding to a particular sector of a two-level inverter are determined. After that, by using the two level stage findings, the switching vectors related to exact position of the reference vector are directly generated based on principle of the reverse mapping approach and do not need to be found at n level stage. In the reverse mapping principle, the middle vector of subhexagon is added to the formerly found two level switching vectors. The proposed generalized algorithm is efficient and it can be applied to an inverter of any level. In this paper, the proposed scheme is explained for a five-level inverter and the performance is analyzed for five level and three level inverters through MATLAB. The simulation results are validated by implementing the propose scheme on a V/f controlled three-level inverter fed induction motor using dSPACE control desk.
The detection of position and speed in BLDC motors without using position sensors has meant many efforts for the last decades. The aim of this paper is to develop a sensorless technique for detecting the position and speed of BLDC motors, and to overcome the drawbacks of position sensor-based methods by improving the performance of traditional approaches oriented to motor phase voltage sensing. The position and speed information is obtained by computing the derivative of the terminal phase voltages regarding to a virtual neutral point. For starting-up the motor and implementing the algorithms of the detection technique, a FPGA board with a real-time processor is used. Also, a versatile hardware has been developed for driving BLDC motors through pulse width modulation (PWM) signals. Delta and wye winding motors have been considered for evaluating the performance of the designed hardware and software, and tests with and without load are performed. Experimental results for validating the detection technique were attained in the range 5-1500 rpm and 5-150 rpm under no-load and full-load conditions, respectively. Specifically, speed and position square errors lower than 3 rpm and between 10º-30º were obtained without load. In addition, the speed and position errors after full-load tests were around 1 rpm and between 10º-15º, respectively. These results provide the evidence that the developed technique allows to detect the position and speed of BLDC motors with low accuracy errors at starting-up and over a wide speed range, and reduce the influence of noise in position sensing, which suggest that it can be satisfactorily used as a reliable alternative to position sensors in precision applications.

Zero Voltage Transition Pulse Width Modulation (ZVT-PWM) converter with active snubber circuit was proposed on this paper. The converter that has been proposed snubber circuit can be operated at the condition of light load range, and this converter is turned on and off near by Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) or Zero Current Switching (ZCS). If the stress of voltage and current are not occurred at the main switch and main diode, we subjected the allowed level of voltage and current on the auxiliary switch and auxiliary diodes. By proposed 750[W], 80[KHz] PWM boost converter to apply soft switching on the power of total output, the loss of main switch to compare with hard switching was reduced about 27[%], and the loss of total circuit was reduced about 36[%]. The total efficiency was increased about 6[%] to compare with general converter.

The pulse width modulation(PWM) method has been generally used as conventional method controlling luminance of LED(light emitting diode). PWM method as analog method with a relation that duty ratio of LED be proportional to luminance has weak point that it is not compatible with digital method of communication etc. In this paper, a experiment is conducted which the luminance of RGB LED be controlled by digital method. For this, the LED digital control system is developed which consist of LED driving circuits and digital logic circuits. By controlling the number of pluses on RGB LED versus digital input, various lighting colors is implemented and digital codes are optimized in order that measured x, y chromaticity coordinates of lighting colors are comprised in the CIE chromaticity coordinates area of targeted lighting colors. The result of this study can be utilized usefully in research on implementing full color by using remote control of LED lamp with digital communication.

This paper presents current unbalance improved half-bridge LLC resonant converter using the two transformers with different leakage inductances. The proposed converter resonates with the leakage inductance and magnetizing inductance of the transformer and the resonant capacitance. The converter operates in a wide load range and satisfies the zero voltage switching even under the light load. The series-parallel connected two transformers act as the transformers or the resonant inductances according to the operational modes, and the separate output filter inductance in the transformer secondary is not needed using the leakage inductance. The current unbalance of the secondary diode rectifier is improved using the different leakage inductances of the two transformers and the asymmetrical pulse-width modulation (PWM). In this paper, the operational principle of the converter is explained by the modes, and the design example for the prototype is also shown. To validate the performance of the converter, the prototype is implemented as the designed circuit parameters and the good performance of the proposed converter is shown through the experimental results

A novel Zero Current Switching(ZCS) Pulse Width Modulation(PWM) boost converter with dual mode for reducing two rectifiers reverse recovery related losses is proposed. The switches of the proposed converter are operating to work alternatively turn-on and turn-off with soft switching condition In the every cycle and the proposed converter reduces the reverse recovery current, which is related switching losses and EMI problems, of the free-wheeling diode$(D_1, D_2)$ by adding the resonant inductor Lr, in series with the switch $S_1$. The switching components$(S_1, S_2, D, D_1)$ in the proposed boost converter are subjected to minimum voltage and current stresses same as those in their PWM counterparts because there are no additional active switches and resonant elements compared with the conventional ZVT PWM $converters^{[2]}$. The operation of the proposed converter, in this paper, is analyzed and to verify the feasibility of the characteristics is built and tested.

DC/DC switching power converters are commonly used to generate a regulated DC output voltage with high efficiency. The DC/DC converter is composed of a MOSFET (metal-oxide semiconductor field effect transistor), a PWM-IC (pulse width modulation-integrated circuit) controller, inductor, capacitor, etc. It is shown that the variation of threshold voltage and the breakdown voltage in the electrical characteristics of MOSFET occurs by radiation effects in TID (Total Ionizing Dose) testing at the low energy ${\gamma}$ rays using $^{60}Co$, and 5 heavy ions make the gate of MOSFET broken in SEGR (Single Event Gate Rupture) testing. TID testing on MOSFET is accomplished up to the total dose of 40 krad, and the cross section($cm^2$) versus LET(MeV/mg/$cm^2$) in the MOSFET operation is studied at SEGR testing after implementation of the controller board.

A new error amplifier is presented for fast transient response of DC-DC converters. The amplifier has low quiescent current to achieve high power conversion efficiency, but it can supply sufficient current during large signal operation. Two comparators detect large-signal variations, and turn on extra current supplier if necessary. The amount of extra current is well controlled, so that the system stability can be guaranteed in various operating conditions. The simulation results show that the new error amplifier achieves significant improvement in transient response than the conventional one.
