Recently, our society is increasingly aware of the strengthening of 'publicness'. In particular, it is urgent to improve safety in that public spaces are used by an unspecified number of people. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to derive an indicators for evaluating crime safety in outdoor public spaces and to present the relative weights of each evaluation indicator. For this purpose, this study investigated the relative importance of crime safety evaluation indicators for outdoor public spaces to experts and conducted AHP analysis based on this. The result of this study is as follows. First, it was confirmed that similar tendency was observed among experts group (researcher, public officials, planner) related to outdoor public space. Therefore, the results of this study will be a certain reference point in the future social consensus on the issue. Second, the experts related to physical environment evaluation showed that the priority of environmental planning related to 'Natural surveillance' is highly evaluated in order to increase crime safety of outdoor public space. Next, it was recognized that 'Mechanical surveillance' and 'Legibility reinforcement' were needed.

This thesis aims to show the design logics and the meta-design of a public restroom "Between You and Me." This work reinterprets a public restroom regarded as the typical public space by means of spatial agency's influences, on the assumption thor spatial agency controls the properties of public space. This thesis examines our representational system against the public space, and our specific experience in it with the conceptual model of meta-design. Meta-design is a design beyond the design usually we think of. Experiential meta-design, "Between You and Me" presented as the object of this thesis, is a constructive design project which converts our negative perception of the restroom to a new one, "interface." This project, composed of the surrealistic spatial arrangement, urges us to reconsider our fixed thoughts of the restroom and try a creative experience in it. Finally this thesis shows how the space's way of existence fixes our acts and thoughts, and what enables the repetitive acts and thoughts often emerged In our relations with the public space through a meta-design.c space through a meta-design.

The purpose of this study is, According to society changing fast, human life is changing in the direction of complexity and variety, the middle class and multiple structure have been generated in relation between architecture and function. Accordingly, considering the analyzed elements of the main floor space planning and relation of the factors in space planning of Seoul s public libraries. The Public Library is variety of function is abstracted to the plan for Space Composition Form from future public library, analysis of “This point of user, how to composition is the space of different function” and “How to is the connection between the educational function and the other function, complexity of space.” With above distinctive themes and the research, the typology of public library in seoul city, At the first, the research shows that the public library is 8 type, and high in typology of “TYPE 7 (A3-B2-Cl)”. Secondary, There appears public library, such as in the satisfaction of the One-Function-User is high in “TYPE 3 (A1-B2-C3)”, in the satisfaction over the Two-Function-User is high in “TYPE 6 (A3-B1-C1)”

The purpose of this study was to analyze the planning guideline of individual space size for public library. The 26 cases were selected from the data of outstanding libraries built after the year 2000. The paper focused on the comparison between the data from analysis and the guideline from manual book of public library. The result of this study was as followed ; The first, reference reading rooms were open-plan rather than segmented. The second, the percentages of reference reading spaces from the data were lower than the guidelines. It proved the fact that the role of public library expanded to cultural community space. The third, children's space retained sufficient numbers of book collections. It represented that people realized the importance of children's library in terms of cultural education. The fourth, the percentage of space size of cultural area showed high amount of numbers. It proved the fact that the public library as community center was required various cultural programs. The fifth, the percentages of preservation library were lower than the guideline in case of the big libraries, while the small libraries were higher. The book collections of detached annex libraries should be linked with the central libraries.

공공민간협력(Public-Private Partnerships)은 공공부문과 민간부문의 협력적 관계를 통해 공동의 목표를 달성하는 운영방식이다. 최근 우주분야에서 공공민간협력이 중요해짐에도 불구하고 민간부문과 공공부문 간 협력적 네트워크를 활성화 시키는 정책수단에 관한 연구는 부족했다. 이 연구는 선진국에서 사용 중인 16가지 정책수단을 4가지(구매계약, 재정지원, 연구개발지원, 자원지원)로 유형화하였다. 그리고 미국, 유럽, 일본 등 5가지 공공민간협력 운영사례 연구를 통해 우주산업 경쟁력 강화에 도움이 되는 정책적 시사점을 발굴하였다.

Housing consumers prefer high-rise mixed-use apartments because of one-stop living style, and high quality of life. This study investigated the residents community with the residents who lived in the apartments and the future residents who will live in the apartments to investigate the usage of the public spaces and the influence of the space to form housing culture of residents family community. All data were taken from the response of two hundred forty three questionnaire to be gathered during 20th of June through 24th of August in 2003. Data were analyzed with percentages, means, t-test, and variance analysis using SPSS/PC+. Residents in four high-rise mixed-use apartments feels that the public space in the apartments were mainly provided by their convenience of the construction companies not for the residents. Physical conditions of public space in high-rise mixed-use apartments should be environmentally friendly housing space in which nature and human can be coexisted. It also should be high-tech system housing with which SOHO can be operated. And different custom-made spaces which the residents' needs can be satisfying should be provided. The public space should be recommended to be multi-purposed room because the space will be differentiated with the circumstances of the area, the residents' age differences, and the variety of the family's life style. Moreover, the various programs should be supplied to run the public space efficiently.

This study examines for the making a deduction of architectural characteristics of high-rise business hotel's lower public space through analyzing the lobby space composition through Beijjng's 21 cases constructed from 1978 until 2008 in China. In the methods of analyzing process, We study the literatures, research reports and architectural drawings including the site survey. We hope to establish the principle in public space composition of Beijing's business hotels through analyzing the plan of these hotels. Finally, We find out the principles after researching as follows. Firstly, duration of business hotel construction was concentrated with the center of Beijing City especially central 5 Gu which will roll. To 1990's after that the high-rise hotel construction increased in order for the demand of the resort and the convention hotel to come to be many. The modem style was increased in hotel design of building's style. Secondly, the result which analyzes an 21 case study shows concourse style of public space composition is representative in lobby space of general 5 star business hotel in Beijing. And there are many upper composition style in sectional plan, modern style in lobby interior design. The third, the medium and small sized hotel have the plane which apply the public space efficiently.

Nowadays the parks in Shanghai tend to develop towards two directions. Small and medimn parks are being gradually transformed from closed management to open management, while large ones emphasize their nature of theme and nature of functions. Simultaneously, the number of large and open public green spaces has been significantly increased. Although the public green space does not adopt the management pattern for parks, there is almost no difference between public green space and ordinary parks so far as the functions and scales are concerned. Due to the fact that there is no obvious boundary between a public park and a public green space, this paper raises a suggestion to coordinate continuously their management and functions so that the distribution of and the connection between the urban green spaces can be more rational and more definite and a sound green network can be formed. Starting from the viewpoint of emphasizing accessibility to green spaces and enhancing the angle of linking green spaces, we aim at transforming a park system to a multifunctional green system, extending the effects and service radius of large green spaces, and strengthening the internal connections with the surrounding areas so that a high-quality green space can be formed with the connection of the green space network.

본 연구는 국내 공공도서관 청소년자료실 공간에 대한 평가요소를 조사하고 이를 바탕으로 공공도서관 청소년자료실 공간 현황 및 시사점을 도출하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 미국 청소년도서관서비스협회의 청소년 공간 가이드라인과 선행연구를 바탕으로 6가지 공간 평가항목 - 편의성, 접근성, 안전성, 다양성, 쾌적성, 영감성 - 을 도출하였다. 이를 바탕으로 서울시 5개 공공도서관의 청소년자료실을 대상으로 사례조사를 실시하였다. 연구결과, 공공도서관의 청소년을 위한 공간을 구성함에 있어 안내 및 편의시설, 정보자원에 대한 접근, 이용자 지침 정비, 다양한 공간 활용 및 운영, 쾌적한 도서관 이용환경 제공, 청소년에게 학습동기 부여 및 요구되는 모든 자원의 지원이 가능한 공간이 요구됨을 파악하였다.

In this era of information, the public library takes a important role in the local community. In several years, public libraries have been proliferated in our society. However, there have not been specific planning standards of space size for construction of public library. The situation has lead the local governments to the need of consulting for the construction and management of library in search of appropriate guideline. The research paper focuses on the result of consulting support project for construction and management of public library. It examines total 11 libraries which were consulted from 2009 to 2011. It examines the configurational differences between the first scheme from the local government and the final scheme after the consulting, and the percentages of gross areas of each parts of library, reference and reading area, office area, education and cultural area, and public common use area. The analysis concludes that reference and reading area increased by 6.4% from 34.1% to 40.5%, and public common use area reduced by 6.1% from 30.2% to 24.1%, which represents a certain tendency of the configuration ratio of the each parts. Thus, the paper could be a starting point of establishing planning standard of space size for public library.
