By observing the psychotherapy process expressed by an adolescent with obssessive compulsive disorder, the author suggests that the main problem of OCD is not merely a product of an unconscious process as traditionally thought, but a learned problem solving process as a method surviving the more realistic conflicts, and therefore the treatment should be directed to more or less conscious and realistic issues and conflicts, family therapy should be offered too.
In psychodynamic therapy, trauma related symptoms are considered as an attempt to overcome the traumatic experiences. Therefore, psychodynamic psychotherapy regards the symptom not as a patient's defect but as an adaptive reaction. In contrast to other therapies, psychodynamic theory places heavy emphasis on the understanding and resolution of the patient's symptoms. In addition, transference is a distinctive feature of this theory, which plays a significant role of reflecting the realistic evaluation on the therapist's characteristics, and in guaranteeing the therapeutic alliance. The psychodynamic therapist inducts meaning from the patient's unconscious mind. The therapist's task is to help the patient to better understand defense mechanisms guide their management of experiences and reactions, and facilitate a better understanding of their personal experiences.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the tendency and characteristics of behavior problems in preschool children. The aim was to acquire basic information that could be used in diagnosis and intervention strategies. The target of this study were 823 preschoolers, the reporting on which was conducted through the responses of 81 teachers. Analysis consisted of partitioning behavioral problems by demographic variables in order to ascertain differences by age, sex, and cut-off score of the high risk group. Overall results indicate significant differences in behavioral problems according to socio-demographic variable. The conclusions of this study offer a foundation for diagnosis, intervention, and therapy for preschoolers with problem behaviors.
People who were exposed to chronic interpersonal traumas in their early life consistently demonstrate complex psychological disturbances and many of them meet the criteria for proposed diagnosis of complex posttraumatic stress disorder (complx PTSD). The author reports a case of the successful sequential integrative treatment mainly composed of eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) in a complex PTSD patient. The patient did not respond to the previous treatment with psychotropic medications and supportive psychotherapy. Twelve sessions of EMDR and three sessions of supportive psychotherapy were done for the patient. Psychological assessments were performed before starting the treatment and a week after completing the treatment. After the treatment, the patient improved on all the psychological scales and behavioral measures. This case suggests that the sequential integrative treatment mainly composed of EMDR may be effective for complex PTSD patients.
This study is designed to assess the effect of hypnosis on the pain disorder patient. We treated a patient by using hypnosis as well as traditional oriental therapy-acupuncture, herbal medicine, Chu-Na therapy. We divide the pain into four parts and then we checked the intensities of them comparing with those of the first treatment. The pain worsened by psychic factor was decreased after treatment. Especially, after hypnosis, the intensity of the pain is highly changed. Psychotherapy in oriental medicine can be helpful to treat patients who have psychic and physical disorders.
Many kinds of methods for the psychological treatments are performed which are differentdepending on the patient's condition and the clinical character. Therefore, a great deal of good effects can be expected by the intention or knowledge of the carrer, although the patients are under the same symptom. The symptom of pain can be given different meanings considering the professional knowledge. It's the same case when the very same psychological condition can be iudged differently and the way of being treated can be variable. The physical treatment is a kind of method that cures illness or injury using all sorts of factors such as water, electricity, light, and exercises. In general, physical treatment as known to cure the physically tnjuried or the crippled. In this case, taking psychosomatic for example, I examined the idea that many kinds of physical treatments can be used in the field of psychotherapy. What's more, I suggest that the use of those methods be expanded to psychotherapy.

Virtual Reality(VR) is a new technology which makes humans communicate with computer. It allows the user to see, hear, feel and interact in a three-dimensional virtual world created graphically. In this paper, we introduced VR into psychotherapy area and developed VR system for the exposure therapy of acrophobia. Acrophobia is an abnormal fear of heights. Medications or cognitive-behavior methods have been mainly used as a treatment. Lately the virtual reality technology has been applied to that kind of anxiety disorders. A virtual environment provides patient with stimuli which arouses phobia, and exposing to that environment makes him having ability to over come the fear. In this study, the elevator stimulator that composed with a position sensor, head mount display, and audio system, is suggested. To illustrate the physiological difference between a person who has a feel of phobia and without phobia, heart rate was measured during experiment. And also measured a person's HR after the virtual reality training. In this study, we demonstrated the subjective effectiveness of virtual reality psychotherapy through the clinical experiment.
