In this study, the comparison of the contractile states change at prime mover muscle with that at synergist muscle was executed, while the muscle contracted continuously with isometric contraction. The contractile states of muscle becomes to change when the voluntary contraction of skeletal muscle is progressed continuously. Such the contractile states change is divided into three states in consideration for not only physiological change but also the psychological change by CNS(central nervous system) as "stable state", "fatigue state" and "pain state". As a result of this study, the prime mover muscle is reached "pain state" but the synergist muscle is not reached. Namely the synergist muscle is delayed state than the prime mover muscle. This result judged that although the prime mover muscle have reached a limit when contraction is continued, owing to effect of delayed state of the synergist muscle, the prime mover muscle is endured some more contraction.

Background: Sleep disturbance and depression are becoming more recognized as important symptoms among individuals with chronic low back pain. This study evaluated the effect of stabilization exercise on pain-related disability, sleep disturbance and the psychological status of patients with non-specific chronic low back pain (NSCLBP). Methods: A total of 26 patients (M/F = 17/9) with NSCLBP with a mean age of $50.0{\pm}15.5$ took part in this study. Participants were recruited from selected hospitals in Lagos state. Ethical approval was sought and obtained from the health research and ethics committee of Lagos University Teaching Hospital Idi-araba, Lagos, Nigeria. Participants performed stabilization exercise for eight weeks consecutively and were assessed for pain-related disability, anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbance using the pain-disability index, hospital anxiety and depression scale, and the insomnia severity index at baseline, the 4th week, and the 8th week, postintervention. Results: The participants studied recorded significant reduction in pain-related disability (P = 0.001). There was also improvement in the sleep quality (P = 0.001), depression level (P = 0.001), and anxiety level (P = 0.001), post intervention. Conclusions: This study revealed that stabilization exercise is very useful in the management of sleep disturbance, pain-related disability, depression, and anxiety in NSCLBP patients.

Objectives : This study aimed to examine the relationship between behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia(BPSD) and patient and caregiver QOL in Alzheimer's disease(AD). Methods : Fifty-one AD patients and their caregivers participated. Measures about patients were Neuropsychiatric Inventory(NPI), Korean version of QOL-Alzheimer's Disease(KQOL-AD), Activities of Daily Living(ADL), Clinical Dementia Rating(CDR), and Korean version-Mini Mental State Examination(K-MMSE). Caregiver QOL was assessed with KQOL-AD and General Health Questionnaire/Quality of Life-12(GHQ/QOL-12). Results : Patient QOL-AD on patient ratings was negatively correlated with appetite/eating change and NPI scores. Patient QOL-AD on caregiver ratings was negatively correlated with hallucinations, depression/dysphoria, and NPI scores. Caregiver QOL assessed by the GHQ/QOL-12 was negatively correlated with agitation/aggression, depression/dysphoria, and NPI scores and was negatively correlated with distress related to agitation/aggression, depression/dysphoria, and NPI scores. Conclusion : BPSD of AD patients was associated with low QOL of both patients and caregivers. Thus, interventions of BPSD were needed to improve both patient and caregiver QOL.

In this paper, we propose a portable art therapy content. The proposed content makes counseling clients get a psychical cure at least cost regardless of time and place Counseling clients express their psychological state as pictures through the proposed content. And Counselors analyze and interpret the figures based on the database which is built into the server system. Due to the development of advanced technologies, various adjustment disorders and addictions have increased in the rapidly changing modern society. This causes the increase of counseling clients who want a psychical cure. And also counseling time, counseling place and counseling cost are emerging as a social issues. Psychotherapy specialists use the proposed content at the stage of the psychoanalysis which needs a lot of time and effort. The proposed content exploits the sever system to make the right decisions quickly and accurately. Counseling clients who are the medical underprivileged get visit consultation and online consultation can detect a psychological high-risk in an early stage and prevent this psychological high-risk. Preventive treatment service using the proposed content will make the social and medical cost savings.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of aromatherapy on pain level, blood pressure, pulse rate, sleep, anxiety and depression of patients with pain. This study used a non equivalent quasi-experimental design. Aromatherapy was the inhalation of blending oils with lavender, eucalyptus, peppermint for 3 weeks. As the estimation for the physiological aspect, the visual analogy scale (VAS) for the pain level, blood pressure and pulse rate were measured. Also, as the estimation for the psychological aspect, Sleep of Snyder-Halpern & Verra, anxiety of Spielbeger and depression of Beck were used. The data were analyzed by SAS program using $x^2$ test, Fisher's exact test, Cronbach ${\alpha}$ and t-test. The results of this study were as follows. Pain level(p=0.001), state anxiety(p=0.018), trait anxiety(p=0.002), and depression(p<0.001) improved significantly in the experimental group. Also, there was significant difference between the experimental group and the control group on the depression(p=0.012). Aromatherapy was effective in physiological and psychological therapy. Also it can be applied in combination with existing Oriental medical therapy.

Circadian rhythms in subjective alertness, mood, and performance can be classified as psychological rhythm, compared with physiological rhythm such as body temperature and hormonal change. While in normal condition entrained by 24hr zeitgeber, subjective alertness would reach its maximum value around midday, subjective alertness would parallel body temperature rhythm with its peak at evening in non-entrained, free-running state. With desynchronization technique, subjective alertness rhythm is thought to be controlled by both temperature and sleep-wake rhythm oscillator. Circadian performance rhythms depend on the kind of task tested. It shows parallelism with body temperature rhythm when subjects are tested with simple, repetitive task. But when tested with tasks requiring complex verbal reasoning or immediate memory, subjects would perform them best at early morning, with performance decreasing as time of day advances. The desynchronization technique shows that circadian performance rhythm of simple, repetitive task is dependent on temperature oscillator but circadian performance rhythm of complex verbal reasoning is influenced by both temperature and sleep-wake rhythm oscillator or another independent oscillator. It would be worthwhile to compare psychological rhythm with hormonal change such as cortisol and melatonin. And more simple and time-saving method than desynchronization technique may facilitate the study of the mechanism underlying psychological rhythm.

Purpose : The purpose of this study is to investigate the current status of operation and ward environment of psychiatry in regional public hospitals. Methods: The method of this study utilized legal system and statistical data analysis, and drawing analysis of psychiatric ward. Results: In addition to treatment, psychiatric wards require additional space for special purposes such as psychological stability, social rehabilitation, and psychotherapy and so on. The room should improve the quality of the environment, taking into account the patient's psychological state, privacy, safety, amenity and hygiene. In addition, various types of room are needed to ensure sufficient area per bed. Implications: Psychiatric wards should be provided with a preference for psychological consideration of patients. The result of this study would be useful as a reference to plan psychiatric wards.
