작업환경 및 근무조건 특성과 제조업 근로자의 스트레스 증상 간의 관련성 (Work Environments and Work Conditions Associated with Stress Symptoms Among Korean Manufacturing Factory Workers)

  • Stress is a primary health promotion issue in worksite research because psychological distress is closely related not only to workers  health status but also to their job performance. This study identified the work environment and work condition factors affecting workers  stress symptoms among the Korean manufacturing factory workers. A total of 7,818 factory workers employed in 1,562 manufacturing companies participated in the Korean nation-wide occupational health survey conducted by the Korean Occupational Safety and Health Agency in 2003. Participants were selected by the stratified proportional sampling process by standardized industry classification, company size, and locations. Trained interviewers visited the target companies and interviewed the factory workers randomly selected in each company. Work environments included physical work environments (temperature, noise, hazardous organic compounds, and so on) and psychological work environments (job demands, job control, and social support at work), and work conditions included daily working hour, rest time, and so on. Men were 71.5% and the mean age was 34.0 years old. The average working period in the present company was 6.9 years. The average stress score was 26.2 under the perfect score, 50, which means the moderate level of stress. Perceived stress had significant correlations with young age, poor physical work environment, high fatigue, bad perceived health status, and high job demands in Pearson's simple correlation analysis. Perceived health status and perceived fatigue explained 21% variance of stress symptoms and the work environment factor explained 4.8% of that; however, work condition did not have the sufficient effect. In particular, psychosocial work environment variables (job demand, job control, and social support at work) had a clear effect on stress symptoms rather than the physical work environments. Poor perceived health status, severe perceived fatigue, poor physical work environment, high job demands, low social support, heavy alcohol consumption and little exercise were significantly related to high stress symptoms in the Korean manufacturing workers.

  • 随着消费者对环境的关注不断增加, 许多公司都积极从事环境营销来实现其目标. 不过, 有关环境的消费者的高度关注并不总是反映在他们的购买行为. 这表明需要有一个绿色消费的范围内个人的信仰体系的发展有深入的了解. 考虑到心理学的方法, 大量的研究机构已测试的基本因素和生态意识的消费者行为, 这些因素的相互关系. 然而, 以往的研究大多数集中于西方国家. 本研究使用韩国消费者为研究样本, 试图了解韩国绿色消费的基础, 发现跨文化在指导消费者的环保态度和行为的重要的普遍价值. 为此, 我们联系了Schwartz在1992年提出的10个普遍价值和价值-态度-行为层次模式的环境行为. 参照价值-态度-行为的框架, 我们提出的概念模型可以解释韩国消费者的环保态度中表现出了什么动机, 以及后来此态度如何影响他们的绿色选择. 其中, 可利用相关的环保价值的关系模式, 我们首先假设激励价值类型和环境态度之间存在特定的关系. 在假设2中, 环境态度被假定用来预测环境行为. 这个假设的基础是对环境有利的态度可能会产生许多不同的行为, 我们认为消费者对环境的有利的态度和各种环保行为是相关的. 因为有环保态度的人们会对环保行动方面的知识更感兴趣. 与假设2一致, 我们推测在不同的环保行为之间存在正相关关系. 564名大学生参加了这项研究. 样本包括308名男性, 254名女性, 2名参与者没有注明性别. 参加者的平均年龄为22.5(标准差=2.11)岁, 年龄范围从19岁到39岁. 至于专业, 我们作出了特别努力使得参与者来自于大学的不同学科. 所收集的数据是通过自我完成问卷调查. 问卷评估参与者的价值优先, 环境态度和行为. 我们进行了路径分来测试所提出的模型. 观测的模型的整体适配度为x2=72.01(p=0.00), GFI的=0.983, CFI=0.982, NFI=0.970, RMR=0.070, 和REMSEA=0.050. 大部分适配值表明了数据与模型拟合良好. 因此, 环境态度价值, 环境的非购买行为和环境的购买行为的层级关系得到了确认. 所有的预测路径被路径系数评估, 几个主要影响假设被确认. 在10个价值类型之外, 普遍性和力量是显著的但是与环境态度的关系是相反的. 与其他研究一致, 我们的结果证实了环境态度是引导各种关注环境的行为的一个重要因素. 最后我们发现环境非采购和购买行为之间有显著关系. 路径分析支持普遍性价值为韩国消费者的绿色意识提供了动机而且他们通过对环境的有利态度间接的支持了环保行为. 我们发现拥有高环境态度的参与者积极的投入到各种关注环境的消费者行为中. 在本研究中, 考虑到价值导致环保主义和进一步证实先前的结果我们提供了测试跨文化差异的机会. 此外, 我们已测试了关于三个不同类型的环境行为的态度与行为的关系. 环境的态度和行为之间的路径的不同优势, 研究人员建议, 应考虑行为的特异性, 努力改善低的态度-行为的相关性. 最后, 本文阐明了随着对环境不断增长的关注, 人们生活中的绿色行为也不断的增加.

호주 학생들의 수학 기피성향 분석 연구 -우리나라 중학교 학생과의 비교- (An Analysis and Study for the Math Disliking Tendency of the Australian Students -Compare to the Students of Middle School of Korea-)

  • The purpose of this study is to make more reliable researches on the tendency of shirking from the mathematics by including those of the students in the other country, and there are a series of researches such as 'math-camp to raise the mathematical tendency of the students who make little progress in the study', 'establishment of factors causing the shirking tendency from the mathematics and development of the analyzing instruments for it' and 'study on the preference to each category of the school mathematics.' For this purpose, I used a test developed by the shirking tendency research team. I compared the average score and standard deviation between the Korean and the Australian students. As for the average score, that of the Australian elementary school students is about one point higher than the Korean students, and there was no remarkable difference in the deviation. Comparing the math-shirking tendency of the two groups, they show higher shirking tendency in the aspects of emotional and mathematical recognition that belong to the psychological and environmental sphere. And, as for an extent of association in difficulties according to each school grades, its degree of the Australian students is comparatively lower than that of the Korean students, therefore, the shirking tendency of the Australian students is intermediate level whereas that of the Korean students is the lowest. They show us a peculiar result in teacher factor. It is noteworthy in that the Korean students show a positive reaction in that factor, however, the Australian students show a comparatively weak reaction. It might be caused by a cultural difference. I also have compared the accumulated percentage according to each shirking tendency factors. It will not only be very efficient for teachers to establish a teaching plan but also a good data to understand the shirking tendency of each student. This will be a very good data for the planners of teaching policy to remedy the causes of shirking tendency. And, it will also be used effectively to write a new textbook. It has been uncommon that a psychological test is used in the research for the improvement of teaching and learning mathematics. In this aspect, I am sure that this study including the preceding research will be a good in studying the shirking tendency factors by using a psychological test. I believe that this research will be a help to grasp the outline of the shirking tendency and I will have to try continuously to make it be a reasonable and reliable study.

  • 암의 원인, 과정 및 예후와 심리적 특성 또는 행동변인들(behavioral variables) 사이에 연관성이 있는지, 있다면 어떻게 영향을 미치는지 아직 결정적인 증거는 제시되지 않고 있다. 이에 대해서는 동질(homogeneous)집단을 대상으로 치밀하게 고안된 전향적 (well-designed, prospective) 연구계획을 통하여 장기간의 추적조사가 필요할 것으로 생각된다. 또한 암환자에서 나타나는 정신과적 문제에 신속하게 대처하기 위하여 종양전문의와 정신과 의사간의 긴밀한 자문체계가 수립되어야 할 것이다. 정신종양학 분야에서 정신과 의사의 역할과 연구의 촛점은 다음과 같이 될 수 있다. 1. 암 예방: 원인적 측면에서 암의 발생과 연관되는 것으로 알려진 정신사회적, 요인들을 감소 또는 제거시키는 역할(예를 들면 스트레스, 흡연, 주정중독 등). 2. 암 치료: 1) 암의 각종 치료에서 환자의 순응(compliance)을 강화시켜 주는 역할. 2) 암환자에서 병발한 정신장애의 치료. 3) 암환자의 동통이나 오심 등의 치료. 4) 암환자의 삶의 질(quality of life)에 대한 지각을 향상시키도록 도와주는 역할. 3. 암 연구: 1) 암의 발생 또는 암환자의 생존에 영향을 미치는 정신사회적 요인들의 조사. 2) 심리반응 또는 정신사회적 요인들과 면역반응사이의 연관성 조사. 3) 암환자에서의 정신치료와 인지-행동치료의 효과규명. 4) 화학요법제 또는 방사선치료가 정신병리와 인지기능에 미치는 영향 조사 등.

행복나눔검도교실에 참여하는 청소년의 성취목표성향이 자아탄력성과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Happiness Sharing Kumdo Class Participating Adolescents' Achievement Goal Orientation on Ego-Resiliency and Quality of Life)

  • 이 연구는 '행복나눔검도교실'에 참여하는 청소년의 성취목표성향이 자아탄력성과 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 규명하여 '행복나눔검도교실'을 통해 취약청소년의 올바른 성장을 위한 지도방안을 제공하고자 하며, 이를 통해 검도가 스포츠 지원프로그램으로서 활성화되는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이 연구의 목적을 달성하기 위해 서울, 경기와 인천지역에서 '행복나눔검도교실'에 참여하는 청소년 236명을 대상으로 선정하여 설문조사를 실시하였으며, 수집된 자료를 토대로 빈도분석, 탐색적 요인분석, 신뢰도 분석, 상관관계분석, 다중회귀분석을 실시하여 다음과 같은 결과를 도출하였다. 첫째, '행복나눔검도교실'에 참여하는 청소년의 성취목표성향이 자아탄력성에 미치는 영향을 검증한 결과 과제지향성은 다양성, 미래지향성, 감정조절에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 자아지향성은 다양성과 감정조절에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, '행복나눔검도교실'에 참여하는 청소년의 성취목표성향이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 검증한 결과 과제지향성은 신체적, 심리적, 사회적, 환경적, 교육적 삶의 질에 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 자아지향성은 신체적, 환경적 삶의 질에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, '행복나눔검도교실'에 참여하는 청소년의 자아탄력성이 삶의 질에 미치는 영향을 검증한 결과 다양성은 삶의 질의 모든 요인에 유의한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났지만 미래지향성은 심리적, 환경적 삶의 질에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 감정조절은 신체적, 심리적, 사회적, 교육적 삶의 질에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다.

Social Isolation Selectively Increases Anxiety in Mice without Affecting Depression-like Behavior

  • It is hypothesized that a number of environmental factors affect animals' behavior. Without controlling these variables, it is very hard for researchers to get not only reliable, but replicable data from various behavioral experiments testing animals' cognitive as well as emotional functions. For example, laboratory mice which had restricted environment showed different synaptic potentiation properties with wild mice (Zhao MG et al., 2009). While performing behavioral experiments, however, it is sometimes inevitable that the researcher changes the animals' environments, as by switching the cages in which experimental animals are housed and separating animals raised together into small experimental groups. In this study, we investigated the effect of environmental changes on mice's emotional behaviors by socially isolating them or reducing the size of their cage. We found that social isolation selectively increases the animals' levels of anxiety, while leaving depression-like behaviors unchanged. On the other hand, alteration of the housing dimensions affected neither their anxiety levels nor their depression-like behaviors. These results suggest that environmental variables may have a prominent impact on experimental animals' emotional behaviors and possibly their psychological states, leading to bias in the behavioral data produced from experiments.

자존감 수준이 인터넷 중독에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구 (A study on the Internet Addiction Affected by the Level of Self-Esteem)

  • 본 연구는 자존감 수준이 인터넷 중독에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 기존 다양한 연구에서 인터넷 중독을 치료하거나 예방하기 위한 방법은 소개하였지만 인터넷 중독의 원인적 요소에 대한 연구는 부족한 실정이다. 인터넷 중독은 다양한 원인 요소에 의해 심화되지만 가장 큰 원인 요소가 자존감 수준일 것이라는 가설을 설정하고 설문을 통하여 가설을 검증하는 방법으로 진행하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 사회 환경적 요인이나 가정 환경적 요인보다 심리적 요인인 자존감 수준이 인터넷 중독을 자져오는 주요 변인으로 나타났다. 즉, 자존감 수준이 낮을수록 인터넷 중독이 심화되는 것으로 조사되었다. 본 연구의 결과물은 향후 인터넷 중독 치료를 위한 다양한 프로그램에 자존감 수준을 높이기 위한 참고자료로 활용될 수 있을 것이다.

Effect of Burnout on Post-traumatic Stress Disorder Symptoms Among Firefighters in Korea: Data From the Firefighter Research on Enhancement of Safety & Health (FRESH)

  • Objectives: It is well-known that post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) among firefighters contributes to their job-related stress. However, the relationship between burnout and PTSD in firefighters has rarely been studied. This study therefore explored the association between burnout and its related factors, such as trauma and violence, and PTSD symptoms among firefighters in Korea. Methods: A total of 535 firefighters participated in the Firefighter Research on Enhancement of Safety & Health study at 3 university hospitals from 2016 to 2017. The 535 participants received a baseline health examination, including questionnaires assessing their mental health. A Web-based survey was also conducted to collect data on job-related stress, history of exposure to violence, burnout, and trauma experience. The associations among burnout, its related factors, and PTSD symptoms were investigated using structural equation modeling. Results: Job demands (${\beta}=0.411$, p<0.001) and effort-reward balance (${\beta}=-0.290$, p<0.001) were significantly related to burnout. Burnout (${\beta}=0.237$, p<0.001) and violence (${\beta}=0.123$, p=0.014) were significantly related to PTSD risk. Trauma (${\beta}=0.131$, p=0.001) was significantly related to burnout; however, trauma was not directly associated with PTSD scores (${\beta}=0.085$, p=0.081). Conclusions: Our results show that burnout and psychological, sexual, and physical violence at the hands of clients directly affected participants' PTSD symptoms. Burnout mediated the relationship between trauma experience and PTSD.

가정교과의 녹색식생활 교육과 중학생의 자아존중감 및 행복감과의 관계 연구 (A Study of the Relationship of Green Dietary Education, Self-esteem and Happiness of Middle School Home Economics Students)

  • 인성과 환경을 강조한 녹색식생활 교육이 중학교에서 실시되고 있다. 본 연구에서는 중학생의 자아존중감과 행복감이 녹색식생활 실천에 미치는 영향과 현재 중학교에서 실시되고 있는 녹색식생활 단원 교육 효과를 살펴보고, 효과적인 녹색식생활 교육 프로그램 개발을 위하여 실시되었다. 대구시 소재 중학교 2학년 242명을 대상으로 2014년 3월과 6월에 각각 실시되었다. 녹색식생활 실천과 효능감은 성별과 학년, 가정의 경제적 수준, 한 달 용돈에 따라 유의적인 차이가 있었다(p<0.5). 자아존중감의 가족관계, 또래관계, 자기역량 요인(p<0.05)과 행복감의 긍정적, 부정적 요인이 녹색식생활 실천에 유의적인 영향을 미쳤고(p<0.001), 녹색식생활 실천 효능감은 자아존중감의 가족관계, 또래관계, 자기역량 요인(p<0.05), 행복감의 긍정적, 부정적 정서, 부정적 인관관계에 유의적인 영향을 받았다(p<0.001). 녹색식생활 교육 후 녹색식생활에 대한 흥미와 실천도는 유의적으로 증가하였지만(p<0.05) 청소년의 자아존중감 요인들(가족관계, 불만족, 또래관계, 자기역량)과 행복감 요인들(긍정적, 부정적 정서, 부정적 인간관계)에는 유의적인 변화가 나타나지 않았다. 따라서 중학생의 녹색식생활 교육이 성별, 학교성적, 경제적 수준, 한 달 용돈 등을 고려하는 동시에 자아존중감과 행복감을 높일 수 있는 전략을 세워 실시된다면 인성과 녹색식생활 교육의 효과를 더욱 높일 수 있을 것이다.

학령기 경직성 뇌성마비 아동 부모의 삶의 질과 아동의 삶의 질 및 기능과 일상생활활동 수행 수준의 관련성 (Relationship Among Parents' Quality of Life, Functional Level, Performance in the Activities of Daily Living, and the Quality of Life in School-aged Children With Spastic Cerebral Palsy)

  • Background: In cerebral palsy (CP), parents' quality of life and rearing attitude are considered possible factors that influence patients' quality of life, function level, and performance in daily activities. Despite these facts, little attention has been given to demonstrate a relation between these factors. Objects: This study aimed to demonstrate the relationship between parents' quality of life, functional level, and performance in daily activities, the quality of life of school-aged children with spastic CP. Methods: This study included 24 parents of school-aged children with spastic CP. The KIDSCREEN-52 and World Health Organization quality of life (WHOQOL)-BREF questionnaires (including physical, psychological, social, and environmental domains) were used as research tools to assess the quality-of-life profiles of the children with spastic CP and those of their parents, respectively. In addition, the function levels and performance in daily activities of the children with CP were assessed by using the gross motor function measure (GMFM) and modified Barthel index (MBI). Correlation and multiple regression analyses were performed to clarify the determinants of the quality of life of the children with CP. Results: The KIDSCREEN-52 score correlated with the total score (r=.735, p<.01) and all domains of the WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire (physical: r=.542, p<.01; psychological: r=.690, p<.01; social: r=.568, p<.01; and environmental: r=.783, p<.01). In addition, significant correlation was found between the KIDSCREEN-52 and MBI scores (r=.411, p<.05), and between the MBI and GMFM scores (r=.427, p<.05). After controlling for age, gender, paralytic type, GMFM, and MBI, the WHOQOL-BREF score ($R^2=.621$), particularly in the environmental domain ($R^2=.699$), remained independently related to the quality of life of the children. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the quality of life of school-aged children with spastic CP can be influenced by the quality of life of their parents. This study provides useful information for future studies to investigate the quality of life of children with CP.
