As ubiquitous devices are fast spreading, the communication problem between humans and these devices is on the rise. The use of context is important in interactive application such as handhold and ubiquitous computing. Context is not crisp data, so it is necessary to introduce the fuzzy concept. The proxity relation is represented by the degree of closeness or similarity between data objects of a scalar domain. A context manager of context-awareness system evaluates imprecise queries with the proximity relations. in this paper, a systematic proximity elicitation method are proposed. The proposed generation method is simple and systematic. It is based on the well-known fuzzy set theory and applicable to the real world applications because it has tuning parameter and weighting factor. The proposed representations of proximity relation is more efficient than the ordinary matrix representation since it reflects some properties of a proximity relation to save space. We show an experiments of quantitative calculate for the proximity relation. And we analyze the time complexity and the space occupancy of the proposed representation method.
Considerable attention has been given to processing graph data in recent years. An efficient method for computing the node proximity is one of the most challenging problems for many applications such as recommendation systems and social networks. Regarding large-scale, mutable datasets and user queries, top-k query processing has gained significant interest. This paper presents a novel method to find top-k answers in a node proximity search based on the well-known measure, Personalized PageRank (PPR). First, we introduce a distribution state transition graph (DSTG) to depict iterative steps for solving the PPR equation. Second, we propose a weight distribution model of a DSTG to capture the states of intermediate PPR scores and their distribution. Using a DSTG, we can selectively follow and compare multiple random paths with different lengths to find the most promising nodes. Moreover, we prove that the results of our method are equivalent to the PPR results. Comparative performance studies using two real datasets clearly show that our method is practical and accurate.
High spectral resolution of hyperspectral data enables analysis of complex natural phenomena that is reflected on the data nonlinearly. Although many manifold learning methods have been developed for such problems, most methods do not consider the spatial correlation between samples that is inherent and useful in remote sensing data. We propose a manifold learning method which directly combines the spatial proximity and the spectral similarity through kernel PCA framework. A gain factor caused by spatial proximity is first modelled with a heat kernel, and is added to the original similarity computed from the spectral values of a pair of samples. Parameters are tuned with intelligent grid search (IGS) method for the derived manifold coordinates to achieve optimal classification accuracies. Of particular interest is its performance with small training size, because labelled samples are usually scarce due to its high acquisition cost. The proposed spatial kernel PCA (KPCA) is compared with PCA in terms of classification accuracy with the nearest-neighbourhood classification method.

A modern artillery use a FMCW Proximity Fuze for effectively target destruction. FMCW Proximity Fuze can be deceived by Jamming Technique because it uses RF for distance estimation. FMCW Proximity Fuze algorithm is similar to FMCW radar's, but normal Jamming Tech. like Noise and Mulitone is useless. Most Shots with FMCW Proximity Fuze have a additional mechanical fuze against RF Jamming. Shots explode by mechanical fuze when Proximity Fuse is Jammed. However, distance Deception is available because shots can not distinguish between deception jamming signal and ground reflected signal. For making Distance Deception Jamming, FMCW signal tracking is demanded. In this paper, we propose a FMCW tracking method and develop the Jammer to show Jamming signal.
In this paper, we propose a method for precision improvement based on core clusters and term proximity. The method is composed by three steps. The initial retrieval documents are clustered based on query term combination, which occurred in the document. Core clusters are selected by using proximity between query terms. Then, the documents in core clusters are reranked based on context information of query. On TREC AP test collection, experimental results in precision at the top documents(P@100) show that the proposed method improved 11.2% over the language model.
The relationship between geographical proximity and academics' formal and informal knowledge-transfer activities in the network is analyzed with a mixed research method. With social network analysis as a basis, we have explored the networks between academics and firms in the 16 regions of South Korea. The result shows Seoul and Gyunggi are identified as central nodes, meaning that the academics in other regions tend to collaborate with firms in these regions. An econometric analysis is performed to confirm the localization of knowledge-transfer activities. The intensity of formal channels measured by the number of academic papers is negatively, but significantly associated with the geographical proximity. However, we have not found any significant relationship between the formality of the channels and geographical proximity. Possibly, the regional innovation systems in South Korea are neither big enough nor strong enough to show a localization effect.

Generally, real system that is the object of decision-making is very variable and sometimes it lies situations with uncertainty. To solve these problem, it has used statistical methods as significance level, certainty factor, sensitivity analysis and so on. In this paper, we propose a method for fuzzy decision-making based on MFAC(Multiple Fuzzy Alpha Cut) to improve the definiteness of classification results with similarity evaluation. In the proposed method, MFAC is used for extracting multiple a ${\alpha}$-level with proximity degree at proximity relation between relative Hamming distance and max-min method and for minimizing the number of data which are associated with the partition intervals extracted by MFAC. To determine final alternative of decision-making, we compute the weighted value between extracted data by MFAC From the experimental results, we can see the fact that the proposed method is simpler and more definite than classification performance of the conventional methods and determines an alternative efficiently for decision-maker by testing significance of sample data through statistical method.
Near-wall effect on wakes behind particles is one of the important factors in precise tracking of particles in turbulent flows. However, most aerodynamic force models for particles did not fully consider the wall effect. In the present study, we focused on changes of hydrodynamic forces acting on a particle depending on wall proximity. To this end, we developed an immersed boundary method with multi-direct forcing incorporated to a fully implicit decoupling procedure for incompressible flows. We validate the present immersed boundary method through two-dimensional simulations of flow over a circular cylinder. Comprehensive parametric studies on the effect of the wall proximity on the drag and lift forces acting on an immersed circular cylinder in a channel flow are performed in order to investigate general flow patterns behind the circular cylinder for a wide range of Reynolds number (0.01 ${\leq}$ Re ${\leq}$ 200). As the cylinder is closer to the wall, the drag coefficient decreases while the lift coefficient increases with a local maximum. Maximum drag and lift coefficients for different wall proximities decrease with increment of Reynolds number. Normalized drag and lift coefficients by their maximum values show universal correlations between the coefficients and wall proximity in a low Reynolds number regime (Re ${\leq}$ 1).

As the minimum feature size of a semiconductor chip gets smaller, the inevitable distortion of patterned image by optical lithography becomes the limiting factor in the mass production of VLSI. The optical proximity correction (OPC), which corrects pattern distortion that originates from the resolution limit of optical lithography, is becoming indispensable technology. In this paper, we describe a program that corrects optical proximity effect and thus finds the optimum mask pattern with a Monte-Carlo method. The program was applied to real memory cell patterns to produce mask patterns that generate image patterns closer to object images than original mask patterns, and increase of process margin is expected, as well.

Proximity magnetic sensor is able to detect the object target accurately in close range and it has been widely used in the underwater guided weapon system because there is no countermeasures from the target. In order to increase the damage of target by shock wave due to explosion of the underwater guided weapon system, the maximum detection range of the proximity magnetic sensor needs to be increased. In this paper, we describe the techniques of the optimum transmitting and receiving coils design using the Finite Element Method for the output power enhancement of the transmitter and the sensitivity improvement of the receiver. Finally, the proposed design techniques of the transmitter and the receiver were verified using a experimental setup and a prototype.
