  • In the information communication technology, it is world-widely apparent that trend movement from internet web to smartphone app by users demand and developers environment. So it needs kinds of appropriate technological responses from geo-spatial domain regarding this trend. However, most cases in the smartphone app are the map service and location recognition service, and uses of geo-spatial contents are somewhat on the limited level or on the prototype developing stage. In this study, app for extraction of corner point features using geo-spatial imagery and their linkage to database system are developed. Corner extraction is based on Harris algorithm, and all processing modules in database server, application server, and client interface composing app are designed and implemented based on open source. Extracted corner points are applied LOD(Level of Details) process to optimize on display panel. Additional useful function is provided that geo-spatial imagery can be superimposed with the digital map in the same area. It is expected that this app can be utilized to automatic establishment of POI (Point of Interests) or point-based land change detection purposes.

  • The modern period was the time that the most radical and extensive social and mental changes were occurring throughout the history, and modernism was prevailing as a general cognition system of people. Modernism, which carries principles of progress, belief in application of scientific technology, worship of reason, ideal of liberty as a col-e value of civilization, was plated as a leading ideology in the realm of society, culture and art In the early 20th century. In this study, the formative characteristics of modernism seen in architecture and fashion are analogized and analyzed in four ways ell the basis of the theory of p. Greenhalgh. First, 'Standardization for mass-production', which is analogized which P. Greenhalgh's 'Decompart-mentalisation', 'Social Morality', and' Technology'. Standardization for mass-production in architecture focuses on the development of a design prototype in order to mass produce; the development of ready-made clothes is actively done ill the fashion area for the same purpose as well. Second, 'Rational functionality' coming from P. Greenhalgh's 'The total work of art' and 'Function'. While rational functionality in architecture puts an emphasis on the rational operation of all the functions in regard to the relation between each part and the whole, rational functionality in fashion call be mainly seen in a dramatic increase in physical activity which could be hardly found before the modernism period. Namely, all the fashion design elements are developed for a certain rational and functional design on each part as well as on the whole in order to greatly increase physical activity. Third, 'the pursuit for genuineness of objects and universality of beauty' is on the analogy of P Greenhalgh's 'Truth', 'Anti-historicism', 'Abstraction', 'Internationalism/Universality'. This idea is adopted in architecture in the form of design of geometrical abstraction. In the same way, design using geometrical abstraction comes to have a significant meaning in fashion of the modernism period. So to speak, modernism architecture and fashion can be reborn to become an inter·national style by giving up the decorative and regional design prevailing before modernism and by expressing universal aesthetics in the form of simplicity and abstraction instead. Fourth, 'Expression of progress through a change in a viewpoint' stems from P. Greenhalgh's 'Progress', 'Transformation of Consciousness', 'Theology'. In architecture, this concept appears by using new construction materials and methods and by representing new aesthetical idea. As a result, it makes it possible for people to make progress for better lives. Like in architecture, new attempts for material application and processing are made in fashion. This gives rise to a general change in a viewpoint related to fashion, so that a flew fashion design which there has never been before can come out.

  • This paper describes the study of the design procedure for the step-by-step setup parameters and of the magnetizing method for performance and size reduction in the development of a haptic vibrator. The study of magnetization was accomplished by comparing the electromagnetic force in accordance with the horizontal and the vertical magnetization. The theoretical results indicated that the horizontal magnetization resulted in a better performance. The systematic design of a step-by-step procedure for establishing the design parameters was verified by testing the characteristics of the fabricated prototype product. The vibration response function analysis and electric field analysis were processed by decoupling of the analytical method, and these were determined to be in good agreement with the test results. The design parameters to contributing to the product reliability included the spring height, the welding position, and the coil position. The sensitivity of the electromagnetic field and the performance change were analyzed based on the design parameters. As a result, we proposed a design method to implement a reliability-based, high performance haptic vibrator.

  • In the past, objective usability was one of the most important aspects when user used system. But nowadays user's subjective experiences are getting more critical element than objective usability in HCI(human-computer interaction). Most people own their mobile phone and use it frequently these days. It is especially important to make user's subjective experiences more positive when using devices like mobile phones people frequently carry and interact with. This study investigates whether the interfaces which express the emotion give more positive experiences to users. Researchers created mobile phone prototypes to compare the effect of mechanical melody feedback(the major auditory feedbacks on mobile phones) and emotional voice feedback(recorded human voice). Participants experienced four kinds of mobile phone prototypes(no feedback, mechanical melody feedback, emotional voice feedback and dual feedback) and evaluated their experienced usability, hedonic quality and preference. The result suggests that person's perceptional fun and hedonic quality were getting increased in the phone which gave the emotional voice feedback than the mechanical melody feedback. Nevertheless, the preference was evaluated lower in the emotional voice feedback condition than the others.

  • This study was undertaken to address the difficulties and inconveniences of an electric wheelchair. We focused on improving usability of initially completed products by augmenting the prototypes designed in the previous study. For evaluation of usability, 10 elderly women aged over 65 years, capable of movements and physical activities in daily life, were enrolled as subjects. The experimental method included a subjective satisfaction questionnaire evaluation of the elderly women using the target product, and the observation evaluation was achieved using video recording data, etc. Usability evaluation revealed that the elevating sector requires improvement of intuition through separation of the elevating control panel and the driving control panel. Improvements in the driving sector include corrections of the front wheel mechanism or driving control algorithm, UI, and sudden stop system. Transferring section assessment revealed a necessity to secure structures and add structures that support power. We believe that based on the inconveniences and improvements presented in the usability evaluation, appending the existing prototype with complementary products will improve the quality of life of elderly women with limited mobility.

  • Constructed wetlands are well known as highly efficient system to treat wastewater from different sources. Among the constructed wetlands, upflow types of constructed wetlands have become a common selection of wastewater during the last decade. We conducted a pilot scale study at peen house on treating potential of nutrients by upflow vegetated filter(UVF) pilot wetland which was combined with hydrodynamic separator and used the cattail plant(Typha angustifolia), and operated with artificial nutrients influent. This study evaluate the performances of upflow vegetated fille, in removal of nutrients. The objectives of this study were two-fold: (i) to evaluate the nutrients removal performance of pilot-scale upflow vegetated filter, filled with a mixture of perlite and soil media and planted with cattails and (ii) to design of scale-up upflow vegetated filter using Froude number. Results indicated that, under the condition of the ranges of hydraulic surface load rate were $22.7{\pm}9.6\;m^3/m^2/day$, the average removal of $COD_{Mn}$, and TN, TP were 57.5%, 40.0% and 41.5%, respectively. Computational fluid dynamics, FLUENT 6.0 program was used to predict the distribution of velocity in UVF and hydrodynamic separator. Full scale UVF was designed using the Froude number scale-up method that was assumed geomertic similarity between model and prototype. Result shows that the UVF with 3 m diameter has capacity of design sewage flowrate 75 $m^3/day$.

  • Generally, the development of the database application includes the requirement analysis phase of creating ERD (Entity Relationship Diagram) and process models, coding, and testing. From the above phases, the analysis phase is not most formalized. It is usually hard task because (1) customers don't know the details of the desired system; (2) developers can't with ease understand the business logic of the customers; (3) the outcomes of the analysis, which are ERD and process models, are not easy to understand to the customers. This paper propose that the executional forms, which are better to understand the systems, should be presented to the customers instead of the ERD. These forms should accept the data input so that customers can review the various aspects of the outcome models. The developers should be able to instantly implement the business logic and also should be able to visually demonstrate the logic in order to get the details of it. For this goal, the customer supplied business logic should be able to be implemented by the references between forms, actions, constraints from the perspective of the data flow. The customers try to execute the forms implementing the business logic and review their supplied logic find new necessary business logic of their own. Iterating these processes for the requirement analysis would result in the success of the analysis which is sufficiently detailed without conflicts.

  • The Alaska pollack longline operations, which consist of baiting, shooting, hauling and arrangement of hooks, are dependant on manual labour up to the present. The automation against this traditional way is necessary to eliminate the manual operations and to reduce crew. We have developed a prototype longline system suitable for Alaska pollack longline gear, which is composed of an automatic baiting machine, an automatic line hauler, a hook cleaner and storage rails. The automatic bailing machine driven by hydraulic power is precise baiting method controlled sequentially, and the automatic line hauler is to haul up the mainline by means of hydraulic power and at the same time to split every hook and to carry it onto storage rail automatically. A series functioning tests on shooting and hauling apparatus were carried out in the laboratory and at sea. The results obtained are as follows ; 1. As for the baiting machine, the exciting time of solenoid which operates a directional valve, bait feeding and cutting time, is shortened according to the increase of pressure, and also, after cutting the bait, the over-rotated angle of the blade increased in accordance with the increase of pressure. 2. The baiting efficiency is about $90\%$ when using sand lance (Hypoptychus dybowskii), and the most proper pressure of the hydraulic circuit in feeding and cutting the bait is between $13\;kgf/cm^2\;and\;20\;kgf/cm^2$. 3. The hook splitting rate of the automatic line hauler is about $95.5\%$ regardless of hauling speed and materials of snood. 4. The case of unseparating hook is appeared when the snood gets entangled or the hook is sticked in the mainline.

  • This paper describes the localization development of an axial fan for KM-SAM multi-function radar. The multi-function radar, which is constantly affected by the external environment, is a key instrument for detecting and tracking low and medium altitude threat targets. Operating this equipment smoothly requires a fan for controlling the internal temperature and humidity. Presently, all such fans are imported. To solve these problems, localization development research was proposed. The development of localization includes analysis of requirements through review of related technical reports such as original equipment and system equipment specification, prototype design, and verification of design requirement through performance test and environmental test. The study results are described. The blower consisted of an axial fan with guide vanes and the motor was designed to generate a maximum airflow of 970 CFM and a wind pressure of 4.8 IWG. Six prototypes were manufactured for performance evaluation. In addition, for reliable data acquisition, AC power supply, fan performance tester and data acquisition equipment were designed and tested. All prototypes were verified as having design requirements equal to or better than those of imports.

  • The Access Grid (AG) provides collaboration environments over the IP multicast networks by enabling efficient exchange of multimedia contents among remote users; however, since lots of current networks are still multicast-disabled, it is not easy to deploy this multicast-based multi-party AG. For this problem, the AG provides multicast bridges as a solution by putting a relay server into the multicast networks. Multicast-disabled clients make UDP connections with this relay server and receive forwarded multicast traffics in unicast UDP packets. This solution is facing several limitations since it requires duplicate forwarding of the same packet for each unicast peer. Thus, in this paper, we propose an alternate solution for the multicast connectivity problem of the AG based on the UMTP (UDP multicast tunneling protocol). By taking advantage of flexibilities of UMTP, the proposed solution is designed to improve the efficiency of network and system utilization, to allow reuse of multicast-based AG applications without modification, and to partially address the NAT/firewall traversal issues. To verify the feasibility of proposed solution, we have implemented a prototype AG connectivity tool based on the UMTP, named as the AG Connector.
