  • This paper describes the finite element analysis(FEA) for the design of electromagnet for Control Element Drive Mechanism(CEDM) in System-integrated Modular Advanced Reactor(SMART) and compared with the lifting power characteristics of prototype electromagnet. A thermal analysis was performed for the electromagnet. A model for the thermal analysis of the electromagnet was developed and theoretical bases for the model were established. It is important that the temperature of the electromagnet windings be maintained within the allowable limit of the insulation. since the electromagnet of CEDM is always supplied with current during the reactor operation. So the thermal analysis of the winding insulation which is composed of polyimide and air were performed by finite element method. As a result, it is shown that the characteristics of prototype electromagnet have a good agreement with the results of FEA. The thermal properties obtained here will be used as input for the optimization analysis of the electromagnet.

  • In spite of the increasing construction of segmental PSC box girder bridges, the techniques associated with real-time monitoring, construction control and safety assessment during construction have been less developed compared with the construction techniques. Thus, the development of an integrated system including real-time measurement and monitoring, control and safety assessment system during construction is necessary fur more safe and precise construction of the bridges. This study presents a prototype integrated monitoring system for preventing abnormal behavior and accidents under construction stages, that consist of behavior control system for precise construction, reliability-based safety assessment system, and structural analysis. Also, a prototype software system is developed on the basis of the proposed model. It is successfully applied to the Sea-Hae Grand Bridge built by FCM. The integrated system model and software system can be utilized for the safe and precise construction of segmental PSC bridges during construction.

  • According to the development of computer technology, especially in 3D graphics and visualization, the interest for 3D GIS has been increasing. Several commercial GIS softwares are ready to provide 3D function in their traditional 2D GIS. However, most of these systems are focused on visualization of 3D objects and supports few analysis functions. Therefore in this paper, we design not only a spatial operation processor which can support spatial analysis functions as well as 3D visualization, but also implement a prototype to operate them. In order to support interoperability between the existing models, the proposed spatial operation processor supports the 3D spatial operations based on 3D geometry object model which is designed to extend 2D geometry model of OGIS consortium, and supports index based on R$^*$-Tree. The proposed spatial operation processor can be applied in 3D GIS to support 3D analysis functions.

  • The solenoid valve is used widely across various industries; however, solenoid valves for use in high-temperature environments have to be highly specified, such as those used in thermal power plants and steel mills. As such, we have developed a solenoid valve, using an already developed solenoid, to allow for more specific use. In this type of development method, use of 3D printing is very effective, allowing for a reduction in errors in design and production. This study includes a mathematical model of the solenoid valve. Then, the simulation from the mathematical model was performed using the AMESim (Advanced Modeling Environment for Simulation of Engineering Systems). We made a prototype valve using the simulation results and also measured the flow rate and dynamic performance.

  • Explosively growing service of digital multimedia data increases the need for highly scalable low-cost storage. This paper proposes the new storage architecture based on torus network which does not need network switch and erasure coding for efficient storage usage for high scalability and efficient disk utilization. The proposed model has to compensate for the disadvantage of long network latency and network processing overhead of torus network. The proposed storage model was compared to two most popular distributed file system, GlusterFS and Ceph distributed file systems through a prototype implementation. The performance of prototype system shows outstanding results than erasure coding policy of two file systems and mostly even better results than replication policy of them.

  • 유럽을 중심으로 게임을 활용하는 다양한 교육 방안이 수업에 적용되고 있음에도 불구하고 국내에서 게임기반 학습(GBL) 비율은 아직 낮은 수준에 머물러 있다. 이 연구는 역사교육 GBL의 실천적 활용을 고취하기 위한 학제연구로 사례분석과 유형분류를 통하여 설계 요구사항과 학습준거, 수업모형을 도출한 후 수업에 적용하기 위한 실행 프로토타입을 개발하였다. 핵심적인 차별화 형식요소는 수업목표에 따라 교육자가 직접 지정할 수 있는 씬 관리와 역사적 전환점에 종속되도록 게임 흐름을 통제하는 개념이다. 교육자와 학습자, 교육게임 개발운용책임자로 구성된 평가단에 의한 반복적 타당성 평가를 통하여 프로토타입을 확정하였다.

내진설계 되지 않은 공동주택의 진동대 실험에 의한 내진성능 평가 (Shaking Table Test for Seismic Performance Evaluation of Non-Seismic Designed Wall-Type Apartment)

  • 지진은 구조물에 막대한 피해를 발생시키는 것으로 보고되고 있으나, 우리나라에 내진설계규정이 도입되기 전인 1988년 이전에 설계된 건물은 이에 대한 대책이 없다. 특히 공동주택의 경우 지진저항요소가 없는 구조물이 다수 있는 것으로 조사되었다. 이러한 구조물에 대하여 내진성능의 정도를 파악하고, 성능지수가 부족한 구조물에 대해서는 적절한 보강이 이루어져야 할 것이다. 본 연구에서는 이전의 연구에서 범용 구조해석 프로그램인 MIDAS를 이용하여 모델 구조물의 내진성능을 평가하여 얻어진 내진성능의 부족함을 기초로 5층 규모의 철근콘크리트 벽식 구조물에 상사법칙을 적용하고, 진동대 실험을 수행하여 국내외 규준에 의한 모델 구조물의 내진성능을 평가하였다. 진동대 실험의 경우 실험의 공간적 제약으로 인하여 원형 구조물에 대한 실험을 할 수 없어, 구조물의 원형크기를 상사법칙에 의하여 필요한 규모로 축소하여 제작하였다. 성능수준을 평가해 본 결과 내진설계가 수행되지 않은 구조물은 PGA 등급 0.2g의 지진에 대하여 사용한계수준의 내진성능을 나타내었으며 허용층간변위를 평가해 본 결과 0.2g의 지진등급까지만 허용한계수준의 층간변위를 나타내어 내진성능에 대한 보강이 필요할 것으로 판단되었다.

  • 초고온가스로에서 생성된 $950^{\circ}C$ 정도의 초고온 열을 이용하여 수소를 경제적이며 또한 대량으로 생산하기 위한 시스템이 원자력수소생산시스템이며, 이 시스템에서 공정열교환기는 초고온 열과 황-요오드 공정을 통해 수소를 생산하는 핵심 기기이다. 한국원자력연구원에서는 초고온가스로에 사용될 기기에 대한 성능시험을 위해 헬륨가스루프를 구축하고 공정열교환기 시제품을 제작하였다. 본 연구는 공정열교환기 시제품을 헬륨가스루프에서 시험하기 전에 미리 공정열교환기 시제품의 고온 구조건전성을 평가하기 위한 작업의 일환으로 공정열교환기 시제품에 대한 고온구조해석 모델링, 열해석 및 열팽창해석 결과들을 정리한 것이다. 해석 결과는 공정열교환기 시제품 성능시험 장치 설계에 반영할 것이다.

  • Developed in this paper a mass-spring engine to represent and manipulate deformable objects. The deformable object model is a basic technology in the ‘Tangible Space Initiative’. The mass-spring model consists of structural, shear and bending springs. Various forces like external, friction, gravity, spring, and damping forces are considered and collision with planes and spheres are treated. When a sphere collide mass-spring model, mass-spring engine calculates external force to interface mass-spring model. A prototype system is implemented in C on an MS windows machine.

  • This paper deals with an integration model of three major quality management systems. The well known global standards such as ISO 9001 quality system, Malcolm Baldrige model, and EFQM model are integrated as a prototype quality system. The proposed model is then applied to help a power generation company to select improvement tasks for enhancing quality management. Here, we discuss three quality management systems, an integration process of the three systems, the integrated model, and a real world application case.
