  • In this paper, the development of a system to translate definition of English technical terms of IEV into Korean and implementation of a web system of prototype Korean Electropedia are introduced. The work was consisted of 3 parts. The 1st work was building databases for the translation of English definitions of IEV into Korean. The 2nd work was that Korean TC 1 members translated English terms' definitions into Korean and modified Korean definitions by significance levels, using developed computer programs and the work database. The last work was to make a document for the report of project and to implement a web system of prototype Korean Electropedia. As a result, 20,996 English definitions of electronical terms were translated into Korean and a prototype web system for Korean Electropedia was implemented. In the future, it is needed to open regular Korean Electropedia and link to IEC's Electropedia.

  • As of July 1999, i,185 lomocotives(excluding metropolitan area electric locomotives) are in Korean National Railroad(KNR). With this limited number of resources assigning locomotives to each trains of timetable is very important in the entire railway management point of view because schedule can be regarded as goods in transportation industry. On a simple rail network, it is rather easier to assign proper locomotives to trains with the experience of operating experts and get optimal assignment solution. However, as the network is getting bigger and complicated, the number of trains and corresponding locomotives will be dramatically increased to rover all the demands required to service all of the trains in timetable. There will be also numerous operational constraints to be considered. Assigning proper locomotives to trains and building optimal cyclic rotations of locomotive routings will result in increasing efficiency of schedule and giving a guarantee of more profit. The purpose of this study is two fold: (1) we consider a planning-level locomotive scheduling problem with the objective of minimizing the wasting cost under various practical constraints and (2) development of implementation prototype program of its assigning result. Not like other countries, i.e. Canada, Sweden, Korean railroad operates on n daily schedule basis. The objective is to find optimal assignment of locomotives of different types to each trains, which minimize the wasting cost. This problem is defined on a planning stage and therefore, does not consider operational constraints such as maintenance and emergency cases. Due to the large scale of the problem size and complexity, we approach with heuristic methods and column generation to find optimal solution. The locomotive scheduling prototype consists of several modules including database, optimization engine and diagram generator. The optimization engine solves MIP model and provides an optimal locomotive schedule using specified optimization algorithms. A cyclic locomotive route diagram can be generated using this optimal schedule through the diagram generator.

  • This paper describes an implementation of a security SoC (System-on-Chip) prototype that interfaces a microprocessor with a block cipher crypto-core. The Cortex-M0 was used as a microprocessor, and a crypto-core implemented by integrating ARIA and AES into a single hardware was used as an intellectual property (IP). The integrated ARIA-AES crypto-core supports five modes of operation including ECB, CBC, CFB, CTR and OFB, and two master key sizes of 128-bit and 256-bit. The integrated ARIA-AES crypto-core was interfaced to work with the AHB-light bus protocol of Cortex-M0, and the crypto-core IP was expected to operate at clock frequencies up to 50 MHz. The security SoC prototype was verified by BFM simulation, and then hardware-software co-verification was carried out with FPGA implementation.

  • Executive information system (EIS) is a computer-based information system that supports decision makings ana management activities for senior executives. Data warehouse is a database that receives data copies from legacy systems and external data sources. Data warehouse is typically optimized for decision supports and can be an attractive solution for EIS implementation. This paper proposes an architecture for implementing EIS by the use of data warehouse. The architecture consists of ten implementation layers. Interrelationships among these layers are investigated for an effective EIS implementation. An EIS prototype for a real-fife enterprise is implemented to demonstrate the usefulness of the proposed architecture.

  • In this paper, implementation of digital control for critical conduction mode power factor correction (PFC) rectifier is presented. Critical conduction mode is widely used in medium and low power conversion application due to its minimized MOSFET turn-on loss and diode reverse-recovery problem. However, it needs additional zero current detection circuit and maximum frequency limit to properly turn the MOSFET on and avoid the excessive switching loss in light load operation. This paper explains the digital IC implementation and verifies its operation with 200-W prototype PFC rectifier.

  • This paper presents design and implementation of the LDC(1.8 kW DC-DC Converter for Electric Vehicles). For Implementation of the LDC, the adapted topology is ZVS(Zero Voltage Switching) PSFB(Phase Shift Full Bridge) with Digital Control is adopted. Also, for the purpose of stable operation of the LDC in vehicle with variable electrical load condition, Continuous Voltage and Current Limit Control scheme based on PI controller are developed. According to real-car test mode, the prototype of proposed the LDC is verified with performance and stability. Thus, optimizing design and implement of the LDC are discussed, and experimental results are presented.

  • As the lifecycle of a product becomes shorter, the communication between a contractor and a supplier in product information has got more importance. The CITIS(Contractor Integrated Technical Information Service) is required to provide authorized users with access to both data and applications they need to complete a task for contract. With the growth of WWW, there has been much study for the use of WWW for the implementation of CALS. The WWW has been proved as an efficient tool for CALS implementation due to its of publicity, openness, and free accessibility. In this study, we suggest using WWW tools, here, an intranet tool, as a basis for the implementation of CITIS

  • In electronic commerce, a registry is an integrated software system that supports access to registry metadata in order to locate and retrieve registered objects it can be discovered and used by a client or customer. In general, a registry consists of information model and its service. A registry implementation supports a registry services interface that can be used by abstract agents to assist a human or some other software process to register new objects, provide appropriate metadata for those objects, browse or query registry content, filter out irrelevant references, and retrieve the content of selected items. We show a layered registry architecture that is flexible enough to support the required specialization of many different kinds of registry specification of other sponsoring groups. This architecture could easily adopt different registry specification. This paper suggests a prototype implementation model which supports ebXML Registry standard based on this layered architecture.
