선박 신호회로용 서지방호장치의 개발 (Development of a Surge Protective Device for Signal Lines on Shipboard)

  • Due to the miniaturization of electrical components and assembles on signal circuits, transient overvoltages caused by switching operation or lightning surges have become more interesting concern to the field of electrical engineering. In this paper, the development of surge protective devices(SPDs) that can protect sensitive signal device on shipboard from overvoltages are described. Two kinds of SPDs are designed and tested by using a combination surge generator which can produce the standard impulse current of 8/20${\mu}s$ 2.1kA according to the IEC 61000-4-5 standard. From the simulation and experimental results, it is confirmed that the proposed SPDs have an enough protection performance with a low insertion loss and a low clamping voltage.

  • This paper describes a novel multilevel ad/dc power converter suitable for the protection of frequent output short-circuit. The output dc power of the proposed converter can be disconnected from the load within several hundred microseconds at the instant of short-circuit fault. The rising time of the dc load voltage is as small as several hundred microseconds, and there is no overshoot of the do voltage because the dc output capacitors keep undischarged state. Analysis and simulations are carried out to investigate the operation and usefulness of the proposed scheme.

  • 오늘날 MPLS 망에서의 제어 부분(control plane)을 다양한 장치의 스위칭(switching)과 포워딩(forwarding) 기술 및 계층을 포함할 수 있도록 확장하기 위해서 IETF에서 GMPLS 망이 제안되고 있다. 그리고 망은 보호(protection)와 복구(restoration)를 통해서 망의 생존성(survivability)을 지원해야만 한다. 망은 어떤 장애에서도 서비스가 제공될 수 있어야 한다. 본 논문은 Kini에 의해서 제안된[5] MPLS망에서 망의 장애 시에 망의 생존성과 효율성을 고려해서 복구하기 위해서, 백업 패스(Backup Path)를 설정하는 방법을 GMPLS에서 적용하려고 한다. 즉, GMPLS 망에서 망에 장애가 발생했을 때 효율적으로 복구하기 위해서, RSVF-TE(resource Reservation Protocol with Traffic Engineering)를 이용해서 백업 패스를 잡는다.

  • 본 논문에서는 IEEE 802.1 Qay PBB-TE 표준 시스템을 구현하고 상용 제품과의 연동을 통해 구현된 프로토콜의 상호 운용성을 검증하였다. 상호 운용성을 검증하기 위해 표준 프로토콜의 구현과 커널 제어 기능을 함께 포함한 통합 네트워크 시스템 형태로 구현하였다. 상용시스템과 상호 운용성 시험을 통하여 PBB-TE TESI 및 ESP 회선설정 기능과 보호 절체 등 구현된 프로토콜의 검증뿐만 아니라 동작 결과를 함께 모니터링 하였다.

  • A capacitor-charging power supply using high frequency inverter technology is strongly recommended for the charging section of the pulsed power supplies. A high frequency inverter swiching makes the overall system size small. The command-charging feature can guarantee the higher reliability of switching function. The protection circuit can be easily included in the system and the good regulation of charging voltage can be acieved by the feedback system. Several modules can be stacked to supply required output power and a failed module can be easily replaced. A 50-kV, 35-kW capacitor charging power supply is developed. In this paper the detailed design and test results of a prototype unit are presented.

  • In this paper, Voltage-time characteristics of lightning impulse and switching surge breakdown in SF6 is studied on the gap and various pressure. The characteristics is categorized into three pattern depending on the configuration of the gap and gas pressure. The properties of the voltage-time characteristics in these patterns are generalized as semi-empirical formula which will be useful in the quantitation voltage evaluation of insulation coordination and the abnormal voltage protection of SF6 insulated power equipment.

  • This paper reviews the existing research activities on signaling and control procedures for IP over optical networks. We focus on the IP-centric signaling and control architecture based on the generalized multi-protocol label switching (GMPLS) protocol and analyze various scenarios and technical issues for deploying the IP over an optical network. We analyze the signaling and operations and administration and maintenance requirements for integrating an IP network and an optical network in order to cope with the high bandwidth and poor resource granularity of the optical network, including the optical cross-connect system. On the basis of network architecture and a reference configuration model, we investigate the GMPLS-based control architecture and interconnection model appropriate for controlling IP bandwidth and optical lambda resources. The signaling and control procedure based on GMPLS on optical user-network interface and network-network interface are comparatively investigated to provide the optical lightpath. We also study protection and restoration procedures to protect link failure when it applies to generalized MPLS signaling.

  • The surge arrester plays a vital role in the protection of substation against transient overvoltages resulting from lightning surges and system switching operations. The proper selection and application of the surge arrester is an integral part of the process of substation equipment insulation level selection. The paper outlines the basic consideration in modeling the lightning stroke, the surge arrester, and the system to be protected. The paper discusses the results of various cases simulated using the alternative transient computer program to evaluate the separation effects.

Islanding Detection for Distributed Generation

  • The paper discussed various techniques for islanding detection and described in detail the working principles of ROCOF and vector shift relays. A simulator was used to investigate why the stability of both types of relays maybe affected by network and load switching, short-circuit faults and in the case of a ROCOF relay the loss of bulk generation or the tripping of a transmission feeder. Finally, to enhance the reliability of Loss of Mains protection, a new islanding detection technique based on a GPS synchronized phasor measurement system was proposed.

Two kinds of TBDs are designed and tested by using a combination surge generator which can produce the standard impulse current of 8/20${\mu}$s 2.1kA according to the IEC 1000-4-5 standard. From the simulation and experimental reults, it is confirmed that the proposed TBD has an enough protection performance in low insertion loss and tight clamping voltage.
