  • In this paper, we have studied a sheet resistance property of N- and P-type thin films deposited on ITO glass by use of RF magnetron sputtering. The N-type samples which has the deposition condition of 150W RF power, shows the highest current value, and the samples deposited for 15 minutes shows a better Ohmic contact property. As the substrate temperature, RF power and deposition time are increased, the sheet resistance of the samples is increased, and the low sheet resistance sample shows a better I-V property. The P-type samples shows the highest current value by 150W RF power condition as similar as N-type samples. and the samples deposited for 20 minutes shows a better ohmic contact property. The sheet resistance of the both types samples is increased as increasing RF power and deposition time.

  • P & I Clubs are mutual and non-profit making insurers which offer shipowners cover for the contractual and third-party liabilities. Whereas most shipowners obtain P & I insurance to cover for their legal liabilities, they also obtain hull insurance to cover against damages to the hull of their vessels from commercial hull insurers. P & I insurance was distinguished from hull insurance in respect that it offered non-limited cover to shipowner member, but there was a serious debate between P & I Clubs in respect of the non-limited cover. A compromise by International Group of P & I Clubs eventually emerged under which, with effect from 20 February 1997, a financial cap was placed on the obligation of each shipowner to pay catasrophe calls to his club(20% of each ship's property limitation fund under 1976 Limitation Convention). Nevertheless many shipowners felt that this new cap on their potential catastrophe call had been set still too high, while others resisted any reduction in the figure established by the compromise. In the Meantime, the European Commission issued a Statement of Objections in June 1997, in which it indicated its objections with a compulsory single limit common th all the Group clubs as high as the 1997 compromise. Eventually the board of all the Group clubs decided that the figure of 20% of the Limitation Convention per ship property funds should be dropped down to 2.5% from 20 February 1999.

  • The polymerization of title compound (MCEC, I) with phenols led to give corresponding resole type polymer. Phenol and p-methoxyphenol polymer had a relative higher molecular weight and a property of elastomer, but p-chloro-and p-nitrophenol polymer had a lower ones. Also, phenol and p-meth-oxyphenol gave to crosslinking polymer by elongation of reaction period and rising of temperature.

  • This study was focused on the improvement of the measurement technique of P-wave velocity for the assesment of the anisotropy of the engineering property of rock. Samples used were collected from a working quarry within the Carnmenellis granite area on which series of engineering geological data have been accumulated. This study mainly concerned the development of measurement technique at the curved surface of rock, the use of natural honey-based coupling agent and the drying method for rock specimen over $P_2O_5$. According to the results, the range of the P-wave velocity anisotropy in two dimensional plane, fell between 0 and 4.68 (%). The direction where maximum velocity occurred was parallel to the orientation of the maximum in-situ stress. The result showed that P - wave velocity is a useful measure to asses the anisotropy of the engineering property of rock and it is suggested that the improvements adopted here can be applied to the experimental work on the rocks in Korea.

  • This paper presents experimental results to investigate the affects of acidic solution under loading condition on rock properties. In the experiment, the variations of various rock properties including effective porosity, thermal conductivity, and etc were investigated with different pHs of solution and magnitudes of loading. The results show that the rock property change was increased with low pH under loading. It was predicted that chemical reaction rate would be increased in low pH. Below the crack initiation stress of the rock specimen, the variation of rock property change was reduced with increased loading. It could be explained with the reduced chemical reaction area by the compressional loading if there is no crack generation.

  • Materials property data are necessary to secure the reliability of failure prevention techniques such as inspection and remaining life assessment of civil infrastructure and industrial facilities. However, there is no properly collected data in Korea, and those foreign data are hard to use because of the scattering of the sources, the difference of standards, etc. In this paper, materials property database system which has been constructed at Korea Research Institute of Standards and Science is introduced. Constructed database contains 145,000 numeric data of materials property for 600 kinds of metals and can be retrieved on the internet. The database system provides graphical user interface-based information searching functions necessary for the life evaluation and safety analysis.

  • Let f be a diffeomorphism of a compact $C^{\infty}$ manifold, and let p be a hyperbolic periodic point of f. In this paper we introduce the notion of $C^1$-stable inverse shadowing for a closed f-invariant set, and prove that (i) the chain recurrent set $\cal{R}(f)$ of f has $C^1$-stable inverse shadowing property if and only if f satisfies both Axiom A and no-cycle condition, (ii) $C^1$-generically, the chain component $C_f(p)$ of f associated to p is hyperbolic if and only if $C_f(p)$ has the $C^1$-stable inverse shadowing property.

  • In the setting of semidenite linear complementarity problems on $S^n$, we focus on the Stein Transformation $S_A(X)\;:=X-AXA^T$, and show that $S_A$ is (strictly) monotone if and only if ${\nu}_r(UAU^T{\circ}\;UAU^T)$(<)${\leq}1$, for all orthogonal matrices U where ${\circ}$ is the Hadamard product and ${\nu}_r$ is the real numerical radius. In particular, we show that if ${\rho}(A)$ < 1 and ${\nu}_r(UAU^T{\circ}\;UAU^T){\leq}1$, then SDLCP($S_A$, Q) has a unique solution for all $Q{\in}S^n$. In an attempt to characterize the GUS-property of a nonmonotone $S_A$, we give an instance of a nonnormal $2{\times}2$ matrix A such that SDLCP($S_A$, Q) has a unique solution for Q either a diagonal or a symmetric positive or negative semidenite matrix. We show that this particular $S_A$ has the $P^{\prime}_2$-property.

  • In this study, we investigated methods for p-type ZnO deposition as well as stability enhancement of its properties. The film was prepared by co-depositing AlAs and ZnO in a RF magnetron sputtering system. Property variation was monitored with photoluminescence and Hall measurements by stressing the films at $250^{\circ}C$ for various duration upto 144 hours. Results indicated that co-deposition is a useful method for p-type ZnO preparation. In particular, pre-treatment in 30% $H_2O_2$ for 1min was observed to be effective in reducing the property variation taking place during the subsequent high temperature processes.

  • Minimal s-Urysohn and minimal s-regular spaces are studied. An s-Urysohn (respectively, s-regular) space (X, $\mathfrak{T}$) is said to be minimal s-Urysohn (respectively, minimal s-regular) if for no topology $\mathfrak{T}^{\prime}$ on X which is strictly weaker than $\mathfrak{T}$, (X, $\mathfrak{T}^{\prime}$) is s-Urysohn (respectively s-regular). Several characterizations and other related properties of these classes of spaces have been obtained. The present paper is a study of minimal P-spaces where P refers to the property of being an s-Urysohn space or an s-regular space. A P-space (X, $\mathfrak{T}$) is said to be minimal P if for no topology $\mathfrak{T}^{\prime}$ on X such that $\mathfrak{T}^{\prime}$ is strictly weaker than $\mathfrak{T}$, (X, $\mathfrak{T}^{\prime}$) has the property P. A space X is said to be s-Urysohn [2] if for any two distinct points x and y of X there exist semi-open set U and V containing x and y respectively such that $clU{\bigcap}clV={\phi}$, where clU denotes the closure of U. A space X is said to be s-regular [6] if for any point x and a closed set F not containing x there exist disjoint semi-open sets U and V such that $x{\in}U$ and $F{\subseteq}V$. Throughout the paper the spaces are assumed to be Hausdorff.
