공간적 전파전파 특성을 고려한 MIMO 안테나에 적용한 OFDM 전송 채널의 에르고딕 용량 분석 (Ergodic Capacity Analysis of OFDM Transmission Channel Applied to the MIMO Antennas Considering Spatial Propagation Property)

  • 본 논문에서는 공간적 전파전파 특성을 고려한 MIMO 안테나에 적용한 OFDM 전송 채널 모형을 사용하여, 채널의 에르고딕 용량을 계산하고 그 특성에 대해 논의한다. 특히 3GPP TR 25.966 V6.1.0에 정의되어 있는 case I의 LOS off 채널의 에르고딕 용량을 구하고, 클러스터 각 퍼짐과 도착 각도(Angle Of Arrival: AOA)의 차이에 따른 채널 용량 변화를 고찰한다. 연구 결과 클러스터 각 퍼짐의 증가에 따라 채널 용량이 증가하며, 35도 이상에서는 큰 증가가 없는 것을 볼 수 있었다.

Prediction of Electromagnetic Wave Propagation in Space Environments Based on Geometrical Optics

  • We predict the electromagnetic wave propagation in space environments using geometrical optics. The effective indices of the troposphere, stratosphere, and ionosphere are computed, and the reflection, refraction, and attenuation of electromagnetic waves in space environments are calculated based on the ray tracing technique and geometrical optics. The influence of the refractive index and loss of atmosphere and the incident angle of the antenna on electromagnetic wave propagation is discussed.

  • Most cracks in the structure occur under mixed mode loadings and those propagation depend on the stress ratio very much. So, it is necessary to study the fatigue behavior under mixed mode loading as stress ratio changes. In this paper, fatigue crack propagation behavior was investigated respectively at stress ratio 0.1, 0.3, 0.5, 0.7 and we change loading application angle to $0^{\circ},\;30^{\circ},\;60^{\circ}$ to apply various loading. mode. The mode I and II stress intensity factors of CTS specimen used in this study were calculated by displacement extrapolation method using FEM(ABAQUS). Using both the study through the experiment and the theoretical study through FEM analysis, we studied the relation between crack propagation rate and stress intensity factor range at each loading mode due to the variation of stress ratio. Also, when the crack propagated under given stress condition and given loading mode condition, we studied what the dominant factors of the crack propagation rate were at each case.

  • The factor affecting on the fatigue strength of spot welded specimen have been studied. To analyze and predict crack initiation position and propagation directions on the spot welded area are very important for strength design of the automobile body structure. In fact, there are a various of loads in running automobile but, it is impossible to replay like an actual conditions in the laboratory. So, in this study tensile-shear type and in-plane bending type specimens were used in fatigue test and includes an analysis of fatigue crack initiation position and propagation directions about earth specimens. The results obtained in the present study are summarized as follows: 1. In tensile-shear type fatigue test, the region of fatigue crack initiation position was affected by out-of-plane bending deformation due to bending angle. 2 In in-plane bending type fatigue test, the behavior of fatigue crack initiation position and propagation derections due to angle between upper plate and lower plate was dominated by magnitude of in-plane bending moment.

Hydraulic fracturing experiments of highly deviated well with oriented perforation technique

  • In order to investigate the effect of different perforation angles (the angle between the perforation direction and the maximum horizontal principal stress) on the fracture initiation and propagation during hydraulic fracturing of highly deviated well in oil & gas saturated formation, laboratory experiments of the hydraulic fracturing had been carried out on the basis of non-dimensional similar criteria by using 400^3 $mm^3$ cement cubes. A plane fracture can be produced when the perforations are placed in the direction of the maximum horizontal principal stress. When the perforation angle is $45^{\circ}$, the fractures firstly initiate from the perforations at the upper side of the wellbore, and then turn to the maximum horizontal principal stress direction. When the well deviation angle and perforation angle are both between $45^{\circ}$ and $90^{\circ}$, the fractures hardly initiate from the perforations at the lower side of the wellbore. Well azimuth (the angle between the wellbore axis and the maximum horizontal principal stress) has a little influence on the fracture geometries; however it mainly increases the fracture roughness, fracture continuity and the number of secondary fractures, and also increases the fracture initiation and propagation pressure. Oriented perforating technology should be applied in highly deviated well to obtain a single plane fracture. If the well deviation angle is smaller, the fractures may link up.

단축압축 하에서 대리석의 균열전파 및 결합 (Crack Propagation and Coalescence in Yeosan Marble under Uniaxial Compression)

  • 암석은 지질학적 생성과정으로 인해 많은 역학적 결함을 포함하고 있으며 이러한 결함 사이에는 암석 브릿지가 존재하게 된다. 이러한 암석 브릿지에서의 균열의 전파 및 결합(coalescence)과정은 사면, 기초, 터널 등의 안정성에 영향을 미치게 된다. 본 연구에서는 단축압축 하에서 균열의 형상변화에 따른 암석 브릿지에서의 균열의 개시, 전파 및 결합거동 변화에 대해 알아보았다. 여산 대리석을 재료로 120$\times$60$\times$25 mm크기의 시료에 균열각도 $\alpha$, 브릿지각도 $\beta$, 균열길이 2c, 브릿지길이 2b를 변화시키면서 2개의 인공균열을 제작하였다. 하중을 가하면서 날개형 균열개시응력, 날개형 균열 전파각도, 균열결합 응력을 측정하였으며 균열결합 유형을 정리하였다. 또한, 정규화된 최대강도(normalized peak strength)를 구하여 Ashby & Hallam 모형 (1986)의 이론해와 비교, 분석 하였다.

대기 효과를 고려한 전파 전달의 수학적 모델링 및 응용 (Mathematical Modeling of Wave Propagation Considering the Atmospheric Effects and Its Application)

  • 본 논문에서는 전파 전달 특성을 결정하는 굴절 계수(refractive index)가 고도에 따른 함수라는 사실을 이용하여, 대기권에서의 전파 전달을 수학적으로 표현하는 방법을 제안하였다. 제안한 방법은 전파가 다른 굴절 계수를 가지는 매질로 입사될 때 입사각과 굴절각의 관계를 나타내는 스넬의 법칙(Snell's law)으로부터 유도할 수 있다. 모의실험에서는 굴절 계수의 제곱을 고도에 대한 일차 다항식으로 모델링함으로써 전파 전달을 도식화 하고, 여러 개의 레이다를 이용하여 각각의 레이다에서 측정한 발사각도 정보를 통해 전파 전달 특성을 나타내는 변수들, 즉, 모델링한 다항식의 계수들을 추정할 수 있음을 보인다.

다단계 피로하중 실험을 통한 균열 발생 및 전파단계에서 파괴모드 II 영향 분석 (Effects of Failure Mode II on Crack Initiation and Crack propagation Steps Using Multilevel Fatigue Loading Test)

  • 본 연구는 균열 발생 및 전파단계에서 하중모드 II의 영향을 평가하기 위해 피로균열 하한계 영역의 혼합모드 I+II 하중을 통해 실험적으로 평가하였다. 균열 발생단계(Stage I)에서는 혼합모드상태에서 하중작용 각도(${\theta}$)가 증가할수록 모드 II 영향으로 인하여 낮은 하중에서 균열이 발생하고, 균열 전파단계 (Stage II)에서는 균열전파 속도는 감소하였다. 다단계 하중작용 각도변화에 따른 하중모드 II영향은 균열전파단계 실험을 통해 평가하였다. 혼합모드 I+II 하중 작용 시 작용각도 ($0^{\circ}{\rightarrow}{\theta}{\rightarrow}60^{\circ}$) 증가에 따라 피로균열전파속도는 감소하였으며 늦게 발생한 균열에서도 마찬가지로 감소하였다. 작용각도가 ${\theta}{\geq}75^{\circ}$ 범위에서는 하중작용각도 증가에 따라 피로균열전파속도가 증가하고 피로수명이 감소하는 것을 확인하였다.

  • The applications of fracture mechanics have traditionally concentrated on cracks loaded by tensile stresses, and growing under an opening or mode I mechanism. However, many cases of failures occur from growth of cracks subjected to mixed mode loading. Several criteria have been proposed regarding the crack growth direction under mixed mode loadings. This paper is aimed at investigation of fatigue crack growth behaviour under mixed mode(I+II) with variation of angle and pre-crack length in two dimensional branched type precrack. Especially the direction of fatigue crack propagation was predicted and effective stress intensity factor was calculated by finite element analysis(FEA. In this paper, the maximum tangential stress(MTS) criterion was used to predict crack growth direction. Not only experiment but also finite element analysis was carried out and the theoretical predictions were compared with experimental results.

  • This paper describes the phenomena of the refraction and reflection when the ultrasonic signals generated by PD(Partial Discharge) in a transformer propagate through the boundary between insulating oil and the tank of the transformer. In this paper, considering the characteristic of the ultrasonic signal and the velocity of the propagation in medium, propagation time from PD source to sensor for incidence angle was calculated. As a result, it was found that the shortest time at specific angle exists. Taking into account the velocity of the propagation in medium, the shortest time with a computer was simulated. It was shown that the simulation was same as experimental result at a real PD source in the transformer.
