  • This paper proposes a pipelined adaptive filter based on affine projection algorithm with order 2. This filter gives a better convergence performance than that of LMS or NLMS pipeline algorithm and has same latency with the pipeline algorithm based on equivalent transformation. Compared to the critical path of the pipeline NLMS implementation, only 2 additions are increased in that of the proposed implementation.

  • This paper proposed transformation coefficients suitable to South Korea for the establishment of coordinate transformation system between Bessel and WGS84 ellipsoids. For this, the coordinates transformation algorithms concerned with parameter methods was developed, and global test network which has 15 astronomical points in South Korea were designed. Based on signals received from GPS, computed the geoid undulation by GPS/Leveling, and derived parameters(3-, 4-, 6-, and 7-parameter) for transformation between each ellipsoid, applied global networks to study the characteristics of transformation according to parameters. Through the successful application of 7-parameters derived in this study and 7-parameters proposed by DMA for map projection, transformation coefficients suitable to South Korea was proposed.

  • The detection of foreground objects in a projection display using color information can be hard due to changing lighting conditions and complex backgrounds. Accordingly, the current paper proposes a foreground object detection method using color information that is obtained from the input image to the Projector and an image captured by a camera above the projection display. After pixel correspondences between the two images are found by calibrating the geometry distortion and color distortion, the natural color variations are estimated for the projection display. Then, any pixel that has another variation not resulting from natural geometry or color distortion is considered a part of foreground objects, because a foreground object in a projection display changes the values of pixels. As shown by experimental results, the proposed foreground detection method is applicable to an interactive projection display system such as the DigitalDesk

  • For audio indexing and targeted search of specific audio or corresponding visual contents, the MPEG-7 standard has adopted a sound classification framework, in which dimension-reduced Audio Spectrum Projection (ASP) features are used to train continuous hidden Markov models (HMMs) for classification of various sounds. The MPEG-7 employs Principal Component Analysis (PCA) or Independent Component Analysis (ICA) for the dimensional reduction. Other well-established techniques include Non-negative Matrix Factorization (NMF), Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) and Discrete Cosine Transformation (DCT). In this paper we compare the performance of different dimensional reduction methods with Gaussian mixture models (GMMs) and HMMs in the classifying video sound clips.

  • In this study, we utilized various type of GPS observation measurements to get a camera projection center of the aerial triangulation and consequently to determine which type is acceptable. For the accuracy and the error analysis, comparison between a projection center from the conventional model adjustment and the result determined by the kinematic DGPS positioning which is fitted to the conventional model adjustment using 3D conformal transformation method has been made. The camera projection center is located within a $\pm{2m}$ for C/A code range measurements, $\pm{14cm}$ for L1 phase measurements and $\pm{10cm}$ for L1/L2 phase measurements with $1\sigma$. In this way, the accuracy of the camera projection center by the bundle block adjustment can be predicted.

  • As data sharing increases explosively, such information encoded in QR code is completely public as private messages are not securely protected. This paper proposes a new 'PROMISE' framework for hiding information based on the QR code projection matrix by using image segmentation without modifying the essential QR code characteristics. Projection matrix mapping, matrix scrambling, fusion image segmentation and steganography with SEL(secret embedding logic) are part of the PROMISE framework. The QR code could be mapped to determine the segmentation site of the fusion image as a binary information matrix. To further protect the site information, matrix scrambling could be adopted after the mapping phase. Image segmentation is then performed on the fusion image and the SEL module is applied to embed the secret message into the fusion image. Matrix transformation and SEL parameters should be uploaded to the server as the secret key for authorized users to decode the private message. And it was possible to further obtain the private message hidden by the framework we proposed. Experimental findings show that when compared to some traditional information hiding methods, better anti-detection performance, greater secret key space and lower complexity could be obtained in our work.

  • TM projection is widely used for surveying and mapping. However, the complicated computations and process are required and, moreover. the different results of computation may occur according to different formulae and coefficients. In this study, the transformation formulae are classified into 4 categories and the computations are executed according to the categories. The computations are also made to different value of the circular constant, $\pi$. The result of test shows that the enough number of items in formular have to be used for precise computation and the circular constant has to calculate down the 13 places of decimals in order to obtain the precision of 1mm on the ground scale.

  • The evaluation of pressure fields acting on slender structures under wind loads is currently performed in experimental aerodynamic tests. For wind-sensitive structures, in fact, the knowledge of global and local wind actions is crucial for design purpose. This paper considers a particular slender structure under wind excitation, representative of most common high-rise buildings, whose experimental wind field on in-scale model was measured in the CRIACIV boundary-layer wind tunnel (University of Florence) for several angles of attack of the wind. It is shown that an efficient reduced model to represent structural response can be obtained by coupling the classical structural modal projection with the so called blowing modes projection, obtained by decomposing the covariance or power spectral density (PSD) wind tensors. In particular, the elaboration of experimental data shows that the first few blowing modes can effectively represent the wind-field when eigenvectors of the PSD tensor are used, while a significantly larger number of blowing modes is required when the covariance wind tensor is used to decompose the wind field.

  • Depaysement, suggested by the well-known surrealist Rene Magritte, has been used for and applied to many media. Application of depaysement through various media such as TV, commercial, and advertisement, attempted to provide interest by deviation from fixed ideas and visual shock, placing common objects in new and strange environment. The study applied screen projection mapping using a transparent screen and objet for different purposes to projection mapping media, applying depaysement to the artwork 'Illusion' in order to suggest visual pleasure, possibility as a new media, and projection mapping using transparent screen and objet. The work cases were suggested by applying expressive methods and effects according to three classifications - modulation of space, combination of conflicting images, and transformation and change of objects - in depaysement, and analyzed by types based on classification of the layout, typography, image, color, and time. Through 'Illusion,' new objet and characteristics of the media are applied and expanded by using projection mapping and depaysement.
