A Study on International Marketing Strategies for Korean Traditional Food (한국전통식품의 국제마케팅 전략에 관한 연구 - 미국시장을 대상으로 -)

  • This paper aims to develop international marketing strategies for Korean traditional food and gives some implications to firms that are ready to invest in developed countries with Korean traditional food and to the government that needs to make a policy to support the food industry in international marketing. For this, we researched data and studied domestic and international cases. Also, we extracted two common factors(namely product factor and image factor) through fourteen variables by factor analysis and tested whether both factors significantly influence on the success of international marketing(favorable impression). As a results, we found several key success factors(KSF), including both factors mentioned above and developed international marketing strategies for Korean traditional food reflecting these key success factors.

  • The purpose of the study is to test differences in consumers' satisfactions on products' competitiveness by domestic distribution channels of foreign clothing brands. Domestic distribution channels of foreign clothing brand consist of 5 channels as multi channel strategy. And product's competitiveness consists of prices, qualities, brand image and services. The results from the research show that there are differences in satisfaction by distribution channels. And they imply that distribution channel strategy is used with 5 channels in Korea, which are emphasized with different products' competitiveness. The contribution of the study is to analyze differences in consumer's satisfaction by 5 channels with data from consumer's perspectives, not firms' viewpoints.

  • We present efficient algorithms for transforming between binary images and quadtrees on the LABOR. For a binary image of size n ${\times}$ n, both algorithms run in $\theta$(1) time using n2 processors. These algorithms are optimal in the sense that the product of time and number of processors is asymptotically the same as the optimal sequential time which is $\theta$(n2).

  • Simultaneous measurements of velocity and OH distribution were made using particle image velocimetry(PIV) and planar laser-induced fluorescence(PLIF) of OH radical in turbulent hydrogen nonpremixed flames with coaxial air. The OH radical was used as an approximate indicator of chemical reaction zone. The OH layer was correlated well with the stoichiometric velocity, $U_s$, instantaneously and on average. In addition, high strain-rate regions almost coincide with the OH distribution. The residence time in flame surface, calculated from the root-mean-square value of the radial velocity, is proportional to $(x/d_F)^{0.7}$. It is found that the mean value of principal strain rate on the OH layer can be scaled with $(x/d_F)^{-0.7}$ and therefore, the product of the residence time and the mean strain rate remains constant over all axial positions.

  • A prototype of a linear real-time ultrasound B-scanner has been developed which has an axial resolution of 1-2mm and lateral resolution of 2-3mm. In the actual hardware and software implementations of the B-scanner, the following features were emphasized; (1) a dynamic focusing to improve resolution; (2) signal processing to obtain low noise image; (3) various functions for the user's convenience' (4) simplification of the system by an extensive use of recently developed LSI's; (5) development of a prototype at the level of a commercial product. This paper reports the experimental results of the overall system and the design approach of the analog part. The work on the digital part of the B-scanner is reported in part (II) seperately.

  • It is bringing out the importance of automated LCD testing equipment that satisfy a definite quality, confidence and testing speed, as LCD enterprises are recently expanding the production and facility investment in proportion to the sudden increase of LCD demand. So far, LCD inspection is however conducted by manual, or the confidence of existing testing equipment falls short of LCD enterprises's standard. It is therefore important to develop the testing equipment that determines the quality of product for production of an excellent LCD.

  • Driving sound is an effective element to promote the product identity of a vehicle by providing customers with attractive sound which reflects the concept of a vehicle. Recently, major automakers are focusing on the target sound setting so that the sound can represent the brand image as well as the unique concept of a vehicle. In this study, a new method of target setting for the driving sound will be introduced based on using formant filter and musical harmonics characteristics. In addition, a target sound suggested from this method will be realized and verified by using active noise control in vehicle.

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the usage of internet advertisement, to define the convenient dimensions of information navigation medium, and to examine the difference of convenient information navigation among advertisement types and information design methods. Thirty-four subjects were selected for the survey study and descriptive anlysis, factor analysis and ANOVA were used for the data analysis. The results of this study were: 1. the most perceived channel about the web site information was the search engine, the most preferred type of information design was the mixed type with text and image, and the most preferred medium for fashion information is the magazine. 2. the convenient dimensions of information navigation medium were information understanding, design composition, easy navigation, timely navigation, and convenient navigation. 3. the information design method is the significant factor influencing on the convenient information navigation.

  • The purpose of this study is to present HACCP management method for improving customer satisfaction in bakery industry. As a study method, literature review on HACCP and customer satisfaction and developing questionnaires through model design were done. Then, a survey was done to 209 customers who had experiences of visiting small size bakeries in Seoul or the national capital region. It was then statistically analyzed and examined. In conclusion, even though the respondents showed positive expectation that the certification of HACCP will have an effect on the factors of customer satisfaction like brand image, quality of product and service, facility and physical environment and so on, but as we proved in the course of study model's hypothesis confirmation, actually, current promoting efforts and strategies of the government or related institutions to spread recognition of HACCP don't have an meaningful effect on the factors of customer satisfaction.

  • The particle size distribution and shape are among the important parameters for characterisation of quality of metal powders. Specific material properties such as ability to flow, reactivity as well as compressibility and its hardening potentials hence the most important characteristics of sintered metals - are determined by the size distribution and shape. The correct particle size distribution and particle shape information are the key to best product quality in atomisation processes of aluminium, milling of pure metals and other processes. This paper presents state-of-the-art technology for characterization of particle size distribution and shape.
