Actin Engine in Immunological Synapse

  • T cell activation and function require physical contact with antigen presenting cells at a specialized junctional structure known as the immunological synapse. Once formed, the immunological synapse leads to sustained T cell receptor-mediated signalling and stabilized adhesion. High resolution microscopy indeed had a great impact in understanding the function and dynamic structure of immunological synapse. Trends of recent research are now moving towards understanding the mechanical part of immune system, expanding our knowledge in mechanosensitivity, force generation, and biophysics of cell-cell interaction. Actin cytoskeleton plays inevitable role in adaptive immune system, allowing it to bear dynamic and precise characteristics at the same time. The regulation of mechanical engine seems very complicated and overlapping, but it enables cells to be very sensitive to external signals such as surface rigidity. In this review, we focus on actin regulators and how immune cells regulate dynamic actin rearrangement process to drive the formation of immunological synapse.

Electrical and Optical Properties of p-type ZnO:P Fabricated by Ampoule-tube Vapor-state Diffusion

  • ZnO has intensively attracted interest for the next generation of short wavelength LEDs and semiconductor lasers. However, for the development and application of the devices based on this material, the fabrication of p-type ZnO thin films is pivotal. Generally, the process of preparation of ZnO is unavoidably accompanied by the natural donor ions such as interstitial Zn ions and oxygen vacancy ions that show n-type electrical property and make fabrication of p-type ZnO to be a hard problem. On this study, to realize stable high-quality p-type ZnO thin films, the undoped ZnO thin films were diffused with P in vapor state. The ZnO:P thin films showed high-quality p-type properties electrically and optically.

Pattern Discovery by Genetic Algorithm in Syntactic Pattern Based Chart Analysis for Stock Market

  • This paper present s a pattern generation scheme from financial charts. The patterns constitute knowledge which consists of patterns as the conditional part and the impact of the pattern as the conclusion part. The patterns in charts are represented in a syntactic approach. If the pattern elements and the impact of patterns are defined, the patterns are synthesized from simple to the more highly credible by evaluating each intermediate pattern from the instances. The overall process is divided into primitive discovery by Genetic Algorithms and pattern synthesis from the discovered primitives by the Syntactic Pattern-based Inductive Learning (SYNPLE) algorithm which we have developed. We have applied the scheme to a chart : the trend lines of stock price in daily base. The scheme can generate very credible patterns from training data sets.

자동화된 추론을 이용한 퍼지 조건연산자의 비교 분석 (Comparison of Fuzzy Implication Operators using Automated Reasoning)

  • 퍼지 정보 검색 기법을 이용한 가중치 선정 전락은,주어진 입력 문제로 부터 가중치의 패턴과 가중치를 자동적으로 선정함으로써, 추론 시간과 공간을 줄인다. 퍼지 가중치 선정 전략은 퍼지 삼각 관계곱 및 퍼지 신속관계 알고리즘을 사용하기 때문에 선택하는 퍼지 조건연산자와 $-cut에 따라서 결론을 추출하는 시간과 추론 단계의 수가 틀린다. 본 논문에서는, 퍼지 정보 검색을 이용한 추론 전략의 조절 방법에 대하여 개괄적으로 보이고, 잘 알려진 블럭 문제에 적용하여 주어진 영역에서 가장 적합한 퍼지 조건연산자와 $-cut을 선정한다.

  • 우리의 일상 생활의 일부가 되어버린 웹은 시맨틱 웹으로 한 번의 탈바꿈을 준비하고 있다. 웹상의 정보를 수집하고 처리하는데 더 이상의 인간의 전적인 개입을 요구하지 않겠다는 것이다. 시맨틱 웹을 통해서는 각종 자동화된 에이전트를 이용하여 효율적인 정보검색, 새로운 지식의 생성, 최적의 서비스 제공 등이 가능하게 된다. 본 논문에서는 최근 연구가 활발히 진행되고 있는 시맨틱 웹과 그 응용분야에 대하여 알아본다.

The diagnosis of Plasma Through RGB Data Using Rough Set Theory

  • In semiconductor manufacturing field, all equipments have various sensors to diagnosis the situations of processes. For increasing the accuracy of diagnosis, hundreds of sensors are emplyed. As sensors provide millions of data, the process diagnosis from them are unrealistic. Besides, in some cases, the results from some data which have same conditions are different. We want to find some information, such as data and knowledge, from the data. Nowadays, fault detection and classification (FDC) has been concerned to increasing the yield. Certain faults and no-faults can be classified by various FDC tools. The uncertainty in semiconductor manufacturing, no-faulty in faulty and faulty in no-faulty, has been caused the productivity to decreased. From the uncertainty, the rough set theory is a viable approach for extraction of meaningful knowledge and making predictions. Reduction of data sets, finding hidden data patterns, and generation of decision rules contrasts other approaches such as regression analysis and neural networks. In this research, a RGB sensor was used for diagnosis plasma instead of optical emission spectroscopy (OES). RGB data has just three variables (red, green and blue), while OES data has thousands of variables. RGB data, however, is difficult to analyze by human's eyes. Same outputs in a variable show different outcomes. In other words, RGB data includes the uncertainty. In this research, by rough set theory, decision rules were generated. In decision rules, we could find the hidden data patterns from the uncertainty. RGB sensor can diagnosis the change of plasma condition as over 90% accuracy by the rough set theory. Although we only present a preliminary research result, in this paper, we will continuously develop uncertainty problem solving data mining algorithm for the application of semiconductor process diagnosis.

통찰(Insight)의 개념 분석 (Concept Analysis of Insight)

  • Purpose: This study is aimed to analyze and clarify the ambiguous concept of insight. Method: This study used the process of Walker & Avant's concept analysis. Results: Insight can be defined in terms of its attributes as follows: Insight 1) comes as a release to the tension of inquiry, (2) is the outcome of the process to discover the overall structure of the problem situation and psychologically restructurize it, (3) comes suddenly and unexpectedly, (4) is to clearly perceive the solution of the abstract problem, and (5) promotes obtaining another new insight. The antecedents of insight include inquiry that can not be resolved easily and also a state where basic knowledge related to the inquiry can be utilized. The consequence of the insight is (1) a new judgement is made, (2) the problem is solved, (3) previous insight is retained and transferred, and it also facilitates the generation of fresh insight, and (4) it passes into the habitual texture of one's mind. Conclusion: Nurse educators need to facilitate nursing students and nurses to accumulate systematically, various information that can become the basis of insight and provide them with an opportunity to experience a variety of problems. In addition, it is important to provide questions to learners as an education strategy to allow them to gain insight into problem solving. From now on, insight needs to be studied in conjunction with critical thinking and questioning in order to enhance nurses' ability to resolve problems.

멀티 에이전트 기반 엔지니어링 프레임워크를 이용한 용접대차틀 피로내구해석의 자동화 (Automation of Fatigue Durability Analysis for Welded Bogie Frame Using a Multi-Agent Based Engineering Framework)

  • A multi-agent and web based engineering framework concerning the automation of fatigue durability analysis for welded bogie frame of railway vehicles is presented. Mostly, this kind of design or analysis includes complex workflow, huge amounts of information processing, and problem solving. Macro programs of I-DEAS, APDL of ANSYS, and in-house fatigue code are utilized for parametric geometry representation, automatic mesh generation, static stress analysis, fatigue durability analysis, post-processing, and data sorting. The engineering framework is implemented on the JADE. Since every task requires a fairly complex process and specialized knowledge, the multi-agent based framework is very useful to keep the independency among several disciplines or tasks and to use distributed hardware and software resources. All engineering programs are integrated by XML wrapper. Related database of the engineering framework and web based user interfaces are also developed. A parametric study is carried out to take into account the effect of geometrical change of transom support bracket on its cumulative fatigue damage. The developed engineering framework reduced remarkably the time and costs required in designing and solving engineering problems.

  • 다양한 공정 분야-발전 플랜트, 수처리 플랜트, 소각로 플랜트, 화학 플랜트, 시멘트 플랜트-에서 적용되는 제어 프로그램은 많은 종류가 있다. 이러한 제어 프로그램을 작성하기 위해서는 기존의 텍스트 기반의 제어 언어로는 현장의 엔지니어가 프로그램을 작성, 수정, 테스트 및 디버깅하는데 있어 어려움이 많다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 이러한 텍스트 기반의 단점을 해결하고, 다양한 플랜트에 적용이 가능하며 제어에 대한 일반적인 지식이 있는 엔지니어라면 누구나 쉽게 사용할 수 있는 제어 프로그램의 블록화 도형으로 표현할 수 있는 도구를 구현하였다. 구현된 기능 블록 작성기를 이용하면 제어의 흐름에 대한 시각적 표현과 제어의 중간 출력값 등을 볼 수 있어 보다 정밀한 공정 제어를 효율적으로 수행할 수 있다.

챌린지에 나타난 Z세대의 협업 정보 활동 - 국내 대학생을 중심으로 - (Analysis of Z Generation's Collaborative Information Activities through Challenges: Focusing on Korean College Students)

  • 본 연구는 대학생 설문을 통해 Z세대가 일상적으로 협업을 하면서 어떻게 정보와 상호작용하는지 그 과정과 양상을 설명하였다. 본 연구는 특별히 급진적 변화 이론(Radical Change Theory)을 적용하여 대학생은 챌린지를 어떤 플랫폼으로 진행하며 어떤 정보행동을 보이는지, 또한 어떤 변화하는 관점을 적용하는지 알아보았다. 대학생들은 인스타그램과 네이버 블로그 등의 플랫폼을 주로 활용하여 챌린지에 참여하였다. 이론의 정보탐색 유형 가운데 첫 번째 유형인 정보탐색의 변화 측면에서는, 정보를 탐색하는 방식이 10여 년 전 디지털 시대가 도래할 때와는 사뭇 다르게 폭넓고 다양한 정보 행동이 관찰되었다. 정보원은 디지털화된 정보원뿐만 아니라 전통적인 정보원인 단행본이나 인적 정보원도 활발하게 활용하였다. 복합 매체의 정보 종류를 가장 많이 활용하였으며, 챌린지를 위해서는 자발적으로 협업을 진행하였다. 정보 행동의 유형2인 변화하는 관점 측면에서 정보획득과 지식확보를 위한 주요 동기가 챌린지를 참여하게 하였으며, 상호영향의식, 사회적 참여의식과 정서적 연계 등의 공동체 의식을 느끼는 것으로 나타났다.
