문제 중심 학습법 수업이 약학대학 학생의 문제 해결 능력과 의사 소통 능력에 미치는 영향 (Effect of Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on Problem-solving and Communication Skills in Pharmacy Student)

  • Background: The evolving healthcare environment necessitates changes in pharmacy education to meet these demands, with problem-based learning (PBL) being a promising approach. Methods: This study employed a single-group, repeated-measures design to evaluate the effects of PBL on the communication and problem-solving skills of fifth-year pharmacy students at S University. The course, which focused on pharmacy practice and communication, included 36 students who participated in structured pre- and post-intervention surveys, as well as self-reflection journals. The primary competencies assessed were problem-solving and communication skills. Data collection involved quantitative measures through surveys and qualitative insights from self-reflection notes. Results: Of the 36 students, 35 completed the pre-intervention surveys, and 27 completed the post-intervention assessments. Significant improvements were observed in problem-solving skills, including problem identification, information gathering, and planning. Communication skills showed overall improvement, though the differences were not statistically significant. Qualitative analysis of self-reflection notes revealed enhanced understanding of elderly patient care, increased responsibility, teamwork, and the importance of effective communication in pharmacy practice. Commonly identified themes included a heightened sense of responsibility, the importance of teamwork, and an appreciation for the multifaceted nature of pharmacy practice in elderly care. Conclusion: The PBL approach effectively enhanced students' problem-solving abilities and provided valuable experiential learning in pharmacy practice. The qualitative data indicated that students gained a deeper understanding of their roles and responsibilities, fostering greater motivation and teamwork. Further research should focus on broader applications across different institutions to validate these findings.

문제발견 중심의 과학토론수업이 초등학생들의 과학 창의적 문제해결력과 과학탐구능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Scientific Discussion Classes Focusing Problem Finding on the Primary School Students' Scientific Creative Problem Solving Ability and Science Process Skills)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding on the primary school students' scientific creative problem solving ability, science process skills and attitude toward science class. To verify this research problem, the subject of this study was fifth-grade students selected from four classes of M elementary school located in Busan city. For four months, the experimental group of 51 students was taught using the "scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding". The control group also of 53 students was taught in normal classes which used a text-book. All students were given pre and post test to verify the effects of scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding on the primary school students' scientific creative problem solving ability, science process skills and attitude toward science class. The results from this study are as the following. First, the scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding were effective in scientific creative problem solving ability among the primary school students. It is possibly because in the process where one student compare his/her own thoughts with the others' ones and discuss them. Second, the scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding were effective in science process skills among the primary school students. Third, the scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding were effective in attitude toward science class. In conclusion, the scientific discussion classes focusing problem finding had positive effects on improvement of primary school students' scientific creative problem solving ability, science process skills and also could lead to a change in students' cognition about science class to a positive way. Therefore, the scientific discussion class focusing problem finding is hopefully to be provided as an effective instructive strategy of science class in school in the future.

  • 정보교과에 대한 논의에서 중요하게 고려되는 것은 문제해결력이다. 정보교과가 갖는 범 교과적 성향과 더불어 정보교과의 지식이 내포한 전이가(轉移價)를 강조하기 위한 특성이 문제해결력이기 때문이다. 교과에서 중요하게 고려되어야 하는 것은 지식임에도 불구하고, 정보교과는 문제해결력이 지식에 앞서 있는가? 본 연구는 정보과학에 대한 지식을 근간으로 교과기반, 지식기반 교육과정으로 개정한 2014년 영국 교육과정의 내용체계를 논의하였다. 핵심지식에 대한 영국 교육과정에 근거하여, 정보교과에서 지식과 문제해결력은 어떤 관점에서 논의되어야 하는지에 대한 교육적 함의를 제공하였다.

한국의 성인역량과 노동시장에서 역량의 수익: PIAAC 자료에 근거한 국제비교 (Adults' Competence and Returns to Skills: An International Comparison using PIAAC data)

  • 이 논문은 국제성인 역량프로그램(PIAAC) 자료를 바탕으로 교육에 따른 역량의 증진, 연령과 역량사이의 관계, 노동시장에서 역량의 수익률 등 세 측면에서 한국의 특징을 중심으로 국제비교를 시도한다. 실증분석 결과 한국은 교육수준에 따른 역량 차이가 크지 않고, 연령에 따른 역량의 감소 현상이 매우 두드러지며, 수리, 언어, 문제해결 중세 언어역량에 따른 수익률이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났다. 이는 많은 나라에서 수리역량에 대한 수익률이 가장 높은 것과는 비교되는 현상이다. 또한 한국은 문제해결 역량에 따른 수익률이 비교 대상 국가 중에 가장 낮으며 교육수준과 문제해결 역량 간의 상관관계도 가장 낮은 편에 속한다. 이러한 일련의 결과는 노동시장에서 역량을 축적할 수 있는 기회와 유인이 주어지는 시스템과 문화에 대한 고민이 교육시스템에 대한 관심 이상으로 필요하다는 점을 보여준다.

퍼즐 기반 알고리즘 학습이 학습자의 문제 해결력에 미치는 영향 (The impact of puzzle based algorithm learning on problem solving skill of learners)

  • 문제해결력은 21세기 학습자라면 누구나 갖추어야 할 핵심 역량이다. 특히 컴퓨팅 시스템이 실생활과 다양한 학문 분야의 문제 해결에 효율성을 보장하기 시작하면서 컴퓨터 과학의 개념과 원리를 바탕으로 문제 해결 과정을 설계하는 알고리즘 학습에 대한 관심이 증가하고 있다. 문제해결력 향상을 위해서는 알고리즘 설계 기법을 이해해야 하는 것 뿐 아니라 직면한 문제 해결에 적합한 알고리즘 설계 기법을 찾아 적용할 수 있어야 한다. 이러한 점에서 퍼즐은 문제해결력 향상에 매우 적합한 학습 도구라 할 수 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 퍼즐 기반 알고리즘 학습을 설계하고 적용함으로써 학습자의 문제해결력 향상에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 퍼즐 기반 알고리즘 학습은 학습자의 문제해결력 향상에 긍정적인 영향을 미친 것을 확인하였다. 이러한 결과는 퍼즐 기반 알고리즘 학습이 학습자로 하여금 알고리즘 설계 기법 이해 뿐 아니라 퍼즐 해결에 적합한 알고리즘 설계 기법을 적용하는 경험을 제공함으로써 학습자의 문제해결력을 향상시킨 것으로 해석할 수 있다.

A Study on the Development and Evaluation of a Collaborative Problem-Solving Learning Model for Nursing Students

  • This study developed and evaluated a learning model to improve collaborative problem-solving skills for nursing students taking physiology courses. This one-group pretest-posttest design used the jigsaw cooperative learning method on 30 nursing students from one local university. We analyzed the effect of a cooperative problem- solving learning model using SPSS 21.0 to compare changes in the students' collaborative self-efficacy, problem-solving abilities, and team-member exchange. As a result, the participants showed significant increases in collaborative self-efficacy, problem-solving ability, and team-member exchange after experiencing cooperative problem- solving learning model. Therefore, we will help nursing students improve their communication skills by enhancing their collaborative self-efficacy and help them solve problems effectively in conflict situations.

간호대학 신입생들의 문제해결력에 미치는 영향 요인 (Factors Influencing Problem Solving Abilities of Freshmen Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate factors which influence freshmen nursing students' problem solving abilities. Method: The data were collected from 119 students by means of self-reported questionnaires measuring problem solving abilities, critical thinking disposition, and self-directed learning, on March 7th and 11th, 2010. Result: For problem solving ability categories, the level of problem discovery was the highest followed by solution plan, problem definition, solution evaluation and solution implementation. The influencing factors on problem solving abilities of nursing students were critical thinking disposition, self-directed learning and gender. Conclusion: Using the results of this study as a foundation, nursing education curriculum should be comprised of critical thinking skills and self-directed skills for the improvement of nursing students' problem solving abilities. It is also recommended that further studies be conducted in order to investigate comprehensive curriculum designs that allow for maximum accumulation of these proficiencies.

초등학교 아동의 과학 창의적 문제 해결과 인지 전략과의 관계 (The Relationship between Creative Problem Solving in Science and Cognitive Strategies in Elementary School Students)

  • This study investigated the relationship between elementary school students' creative problem solving skills in terms of science and cognitive strategies. Creative problem solving in science was measured by 4 variables; appropriateness, scientific ability, concreteness, and originality. Cognitive strategies were measured by 6 variables; surface(rehearsal), deep(elaboration and organization), and metacognitive strategies(planning, monitoring, and regulating). The KEDI Creative Problems Solving Test in Science(Cho et al., 1997) and the Motivated Strategies for Learning Questionnaire(Pintrich & DeGroot, 1990) were administered to 72 subjects. Data were analyzed by means of Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis. Our findings indicated a positive correlation between creative problem solving in science and cognitive strategies. The surface cognitive strategy (rehearsal) positively predicted the total score, the scientific ability's score, the concrete score, and the original score of creative problem solving in science. The deep cognitive strategy(organization) positively predicted the appropriate score and the metacognitive strategy(planning) positively predicted the original score of scientific creative problem solving skills.

  • 본 연구는 교사의 창의적 교수행동 및 역할수행과 교사-학생 간 상호작용이 중학생의 문제해결능력을 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 연구결과, 교사의 창의적 교수행동과 역할수행은 중학생의 문제해결능력에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 교사-학생 간 상호작용에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었다. 또한 교사-학생 간 상호작용은 중학생의 문제해결능력에 유의한 영향을 미치는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 교사의 창의적 교수행동과 역할수행은 중학생의 문제해결능력 사이에서 유의한 매개효과가 있음을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 연구결과는 교사의 창의적 교수행동 및 역할수행과 교사-학생 간 상호작용을 향상시킬 수 있는 교육 및 연수 프로그램이 필요함을 시사하며, 중학생의 문제해결능력에 도움을 줄 수 있는 학교교육의 이론적 실천적 함의로서 학교교육 발전에 많은 시사점을 제공한다.

가정과 교육에서의 창의성 교수를 위한 이론적 고찰 (The Theoretical Inquiry for Teaching Creativity in Home Economics Education)

  • Creativity is a trait necessarily demanded in highly industrial and information oriented society. Accordingly, we should develop creativity through school education. The purpose of this study is to inquire a conceptual model and teaching method for developing creative problem solving skills in home economics education which can work at a platform for the curriculum developer. Although many definitions of creativity consider cognitive aspect more, personal or affective aspect is heavily involved with creativity. Therefore, creativity is a dynamic system which cooperates many contrasting and dialectic components in personal and cognitive aspects. The function of creativity is dependent on diverse environmental system. Environments influence on the extent of the development of creativity. Thus, the person-situation interaction model devised by Woodman and Schoenfeldt, integration of cognitive, affective, and situational aspects, is suggested as a conceptual model for teaching creativity in home economics education. The practical reasoning teaching model is suggested as a teaching method for developing creative problem solving skills in home economics education. The components of creative problem solving which involved with practical reasoning process are general knowledge and skills, specific knowledge and skills, divergent thinking skills, motivation and motives, and critical thinking skills.
