An effective drowsy driver detection system is needed, because the probability of accident is high for drowsy driving and its severity is high at the time of accident. However, the drowsy driver detection system that uses bio-signals or vision is difficult to be utilized due to high cost. Thus, this paper proposes a drowsy driver detection algorithm by using steering angle sensor, which is attached to the most of vehicles at no additional cost, and vehicle information such as brake switch, throttle position signal, and vehicle speed. The proposed algorithm is based on jerk criterion, which is one of drowsy driver's steering patterns. In this paper, threshold value of each variable is presented and the proposed algorithm is evaluated by using acquired vehicle data from hardware in the loop simulation (HILS) through CAN communication and MATLAB program.
IEEE 802.16e has adopted sleep mode to minimize energy consumption of mobile nodes with high speed mobility. If the Base Station (BS) has no data to be sent to a Mobile Subscriber Station (MSS) at the instant of ending sleep window of the MSS, the MSS increases its sleep window interval by double until the window interval reaches to the maximum sleep window interval. Thus, during the operation of sleep mode, MSS repeatedly performs switch on/off action until there exist frames to be received from BS. The switch on/off operation significantly consumes energy of MSS. To effectively deal with the energy of the MSS, this paper proposes an algorithm which decides the minimum sleep window interval that will be used in next sleep mode based on the current sleep window interval. We evaluate the performance of IEEE 802.16e sleep mode algorithm and our proposed algorithm in terms of energy consumption and blocking probability. Compared with the current sleep mode algorithm used in IEEE 802.16e, the proposed algorithm decreases the energy consumption by about 30% without increasing blocking probability.

In cognitive radio technology, secondary users can determine the absence of PU by periodic sensing operation and cooperative sensing between SUs yields a significant sensing performance improvement. However, there exists a trade off between the gains in terms of probability of detection of the primary users and the costs of false alarm probability. Therefore, the cooperation group must maintain the suitable size. And secondary users should sense not only the currently using channels and but also other candidates channel to switch in accordance with sudden appearance of the primary user. In this paper, we propose an effective group cooperative sensing algorithm in distributed network situations that is considering both of inband and outband sensing using evolutionary game theory. We derived that the strategy group of secondary users converges to an ESS(Evolutionary sable state). Using a learning algorithm, each secondary user can converge to the ESS without the exchange of information to each other.

The purposes of this study are two folds: a) to introduce conjoint choice model to research the choice behavior of theme park users, and b) to suggest the strategies to strengthen the competitiveness of theme parks. The major four theme parks in Seoul metropolitan areas were selected as study areas. A leading polling agency was employed to select 432 respondents by probability sampling and to conduct face-to-face interview. Both alternative generating and choice set generating fractional factorial design were conducted simultaneously to meet the necessary and sufficient conditions for calibration of the conjoint choice model. Dummy coding was used to represent the attribute levels, and the alternative-specific model was calibrated. The goodness-of-fit of the model was quite satisfactory($\rho$$^2$=0.47950), and most parameters values had to expected sign and magnitude. Car was preferred transport mode to shuttle bus for visiting theme parks ; however the most ideal attribute levels only were estimated significantly. Most attribute levels of shuttle bus were estimated significantly except the Dream Land, which is the least attractive park among study areas. Simulation results showed that the shuttle bus was a mode worth providing to switch the current car dominant visiting pattern of theme parks, which will be one the effective strategies to attract more patrons, especially for potential users adjacent to parks. Several ideals were suggested for future researches, in terms of utilization of more general utility function and new base alternative, and inclusion of more salient attributes such as constraints in the model.

In this paper, performance of 8-ISDN traffic for the buffer size which is requested of important parameters in switch/multiplexer of B-ISDN with multimedia traffic is analyzed. Multimedia traffic is modeled as a traffic, which is composed of poisson distribution traffic and burst traffic with exponential/geometric ON time duration(Burst duration) Performance of traffic which is modeled as a multimedia traffic is analysed and buffer size, can provide the high quality service, is presented for the cell loss probability. It is simulated using event scheduling approach method which is provided by simulation package, PC SIMSCRIPT II.5. Simulation program is composed of PREAMBLE, MAIN, INITIAL, ARRIVAL, DEPARTURE and STOP·SIM modules. Specially, in case of mixed traffic simulation, ARRIVAL module is composed of ARRIVAL I and ARRIVAL II, and cells are generated independently by each module.

Mobility models are invaluable for determining the performance of routing protocols in opportunistic networks. The movement of nodes has a significant influence on the topological structure and data transmission in networks. In this paper, we propose a new mobility model called the campus-based community mobility model (CBCNM) that closely reflects the daily life pattern of students on a real campus. Consequent on a discovery that the pause time of nodes in their community follows a power law distribution, instead of a classical exponential distribution, we abstract the semi-Markov model from the movement of the campus nodes and analyze its rationality. Then, using the semi-Markov algorithm to switch the movement of the nodes between communities, we infer the steady-state probability of node distribution at random time points. We verified the proposed CBCNM via numerical simulations and compared all the parameters with real data in several aspects, including the nodes' contact and inter-contact times. The results obtained indicate that the CBCNM is highly adaptive to an actual campus scenario. Further, the model is shown to have better data transmission network performance than conventional models under various routing strategies.
In this study, it was evaluated the fire risk of an electric heater as representative seasonal appliances. Two type of electric heaters were used in experiments. When electric heaters were operated, temperature variation was measured around the heater. Internal structure was understood by Nondestructive inspection. It was evaluated the tire risk of electric heaters, when flammable materials were positioned ear a heater. It was also estimated the probability of a tire in case of malfunction of a safety tip-over witch. When a heater was operated in a normal condition, temperature was maintained under $80^{\circ}C$ around the heater. The possibility of a fire is very high, when a heater is covered with flammable materials or malfunction of safety parts (safety tip-over switch, anti-overheating devices).

In this paper, a new algorithm is proposed which distributes multicast cells in a copy network. The dual copy network is composed of running adder network, distributor, dummy address encoder, and broadcasting network. It is operated lower input address and higher one simultaneously by the distribution algorithm. As a result, for each input has a better equal opportunity of processing, cell delay and hardware complexity are reduced in copy network. Also, for it adopts the broadcasting network from an expansion Banyan network with binary tree and Banyan network, overflow probability is reduced to a half in that network. As a result of computer simulation, the copy network processed by the distribution algorithm is remarkably improved in cell delay of input buffer according to all input loads.
The base station (BS) in the CDMA Mobile System (CMS) connects calls through the radio interface and is designed to provide mobile subscribers with high quality service in spite of mobile subscribers motions. The BS consists of multiple base station transceiver subsystems (BTSs), a base station controller (BSC) and a base station manager (BSM). This paper is concerned with the BSC and the BSM. The BSC is located between the BTSs and the mobile switching center (MSC) connected with the public network, and to mobile subscribers via the BTSs. The BSM provides operator-interfaces per the BS and takes responsibility of operation and maintenance (OAM) of the BS. Design of the BSC is based on two module types: functional module and unit module. The functional module is used to support new services easily and the unit module to increase the system capacity economically. Both modular types are easily achieved by inserting the corresponding modules to the system. Particularly, in order to efficiently support the soft handover which is one of CDMA superior advantages, the BSC adopts a large high-speed Packet switch connecting up to 512 BTSs, and thus mobile subscribers can be provided with soft handover in high probability. The BSM is based on a commercial workstation to support OAM functions efficiently and guarantee high reliability of the functions. The BSM uses graphical user interface (GUI) for efficient OAM functions of the BS.
According to the industrial development welding technology is necessitated to develop in the direction of full automation, high efficiency, energy saving, and full safety. In this study, thus, a simple holder ampere controller for welding systems is developed and applied to arc welders and its capability is examined and tested. The results are as follows: 1. It has a simple structure, since the primary AC power for the welder can be directly control led using a triac. 2. It can control the electric power strength in several steps as well as on and off easily, since a small-sized variable resistance is installed in the small controller on the welding holder. 3. In real field applications a welding system with this controller increases the working efficiency greatly compare to the conventional arc welders without the system, because the controller can control the ampere onsite far from the main power supply. 4. It can reduce the probability of the electrical mishap due to electrical leakage, since the electricity is disconnected as soon as the switch is off or welding person's hand is taken off from the welder after the work or for rest. 5. It can control the welding depth in the beginning and do the crater treatment well in the ending of welding, since it always supplies the relevent amount of electrical current. Therefore, it can improve the mechanical properties of the welding zone.
