스크린 인쇄법의 공정 조건이 전극 패턴 균일성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Process Conditions on Electrode Patterning by Screen Printing Method)

  • In this study, image analysis and surface roughness measurements using an optical microscope are presented as a method to quantitatively evaluate the results of screen printing. Using this method, the squeegee speed, which is the printing process condition, and the printability of the electrode according to the screen mesh were evaluated. Increasing the squeegee speed in the printing process acts as a process element that increases the line width precision of the printed electrode and lowers the surface roughness of the printed surface. Furthermore, the edge roughness, which indicates the clarity of printing, was not significantly affected by the speed of the squeegee during printing. The print thickness increases in proportion to the squeegee speed, but is largely dependent on the screen thickness.

  • The potentialities of 3D printing technology are discussed from technical and research-oriented perspectives for industrial manufacturing of a variety of food products. Currently, 3D printing technology has advanced to enable us to process or cook innovative foods. However, food-based materials for 3D printing are still limited in terms of eating qualities, nutritional values and functionality as well as industrial production. Therefore, this uprising issue on alternative food processing techniques especially focused on the exploration of new food materials combined with these 3D printing technologies needs to be re-spotlighted, and then solved to pave the way to this innovative and sensational area of investigation with more accessibility. In this review, previous research work and industrial applications conducted by frontier research groups in this field are covered, then to open discussion for future research on the 3D printing of food.

  • In the development of advanced ceramic tools, material improvements and design freedom are critical in improving tool performance. However, in the die press molding method, many factors limit tool design and make it difficult to develop innovative advanced tools. Ceramic 3D printing facilitates the production of prototype samples for advanced tool development and the creation of complex tooling products. Furthermore, it is possible to respond to mass production requirements by reflecting the needs of the tool industry, which can be characterized by small quantities of various products. However, many problems remain in ensuring the reliability of ceramic tools for industrial use. In this study, alumina inserts, a representative ceramic tool, was manufactured using the digital light process (DLP), a 3D printing method. Alumina inserts prepared by 3D printing are pressurelessly sintered under the same conditions as coupon-type specimens prepared by press molding. After sintering, a hot isostatic pressing (HIP) treatment is performed to investigate the effects of relative density and microstructure changes on hardness and fracture toughness. Alumina inserts prepared by 3D printing show lower relative densities than coupon specimens prepared by powder molding but indicate similar hardness and higher fracture toughness values.

  • We have successfully demonstrated the inkjet printing method to create $Al_2O_3$ films withouWe have successfully demonstrated the inkjet printing method to create $Al_2O_3$ films without a high temperature sintering process. In order to remove the coffee ring effect in the ink drop, we have introduced a co-solvent system in order to create Marangoni flow in the ink drop, which leads to the dense packing of ceramic powders on the substrate during inkjet process. The packing density of the Inkjet-printed $Al_2O_3$ films is around 60% (max. 70%) which is very high compared to the value obtained from the same material films by other conventional methods such as film casting, dip coating process, etc. The voids inside the films (which are around 40% of the entire film volume) are filled with the polymer resin (Cyanate ester) by the infiltration process. This resin infiltration is also implemented by the inkjet printing process right after the Ah03 film ink-jetting process. The microstructures of the printed $Al_2O_3$ films are investigated by Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) to understand the degree of packing density in the printed films. The inkjet-printed $Al_2O_3$ films have been characterized to investigate its thickness and roughness. Quality factor of the printed $Al_2O_3$ film is also measured to be over 300 at 1MHz.

  • This study has successfully demonstrated the direct fabrication of polymer resistors using ink-jet printing technology as an alternative patterning to traditional photolithography. The polymer resistors were fabricated just by two layer processes using a ink-jet printer (DMP-2800, Fujifilm Dimatix). First, resistive materials was patterned by a ink-jet printing with the desired width and length. Next, resistor fabrication was completed by printing metal contact pads on the both sides of the polymer resistor. We used poly (3,4-ethylene dioxythiophene) poly(styrenesulfonate)(PEDOT:PSS) for the resistor material and a nano-sized silver colloid for the metal contact pads. We characterized the electrical properties of PEDOT:PSS by measuring sheet resistance and specific resistance on a glass substrate. From analysis of the measured resistances, the electrical resistances of the polymer resistors linearly increased as a function of printed width and length of resistors. The accuracy of the fabricated polymer resistor showed about $0.6{\sim}2.5%$ error for the same dimensions.

Graft Polymer를 이용한 수계 세라믹 잉크의 합성 및 프린팅 특성평가 (Synthesis and Printability of Aqueous Ceramic Ink with Graft Polymer)

  • Ink-jet printing is a manufacturing process technology that directly prints a digitalized design pattern onto a substrate using a fine ink jetting system. In this study, environmentally friendly yellow aqueous ceramic ink is synthesized by mixture of distilled water, yellow ceramic pigment and additives for ink-jet printing. The graft polymer, which combines electrostatic repulsion and steric hindrance mechanism, is used as a surfactant for dispersion stability of aqueous ceramic ink. Synthesized ceramic ink with graft polymer surfactant shows better dispersion stability than did ceramic ink with PAA surfactant; synthesized ink also shows desirable ink-jet printability with the formation of a single ink droplet during printability test. Finally, ceramic ink printed on glass substrate and ceramic ink with graft polymer surfactant shows a high contact angle without surface treatment on glass substrate. Consequently, it is confirmed that the ceramic ink with graft polymer surfactant can achieve high printing resolution without additional surface treatment process.

블랭킷 실린더의 인압제어 기술개발 (Development of Technology for Printing Pressure Control of Blanket Cylinder)

  • In offset or intaglio printing machine, it's operated with combination of blanket cylinder and impression cylinder. The blanket cylinder has some number of grooves to attach the blanket on surface. In case of operating the printing machine, it has generate mechanical impact noise when the two cylinders encounter with the grooves. So, in this study, we developed a printing pressure control algorithm with hydraulic servo control system. We also proposed simulation model of experimental device to analysis the throw on force response of hydraulic servo actuator. Finally, we have reduced the mechanical impact noise and improved printing quality with a groove detecting signal and PI control of hydraulic servo actuator.

  • For developing digital printing textiles, special pretreatment processes are necessary. These processes include developing formulation of coating agent and coating processes. The pretreatment were investigated with the variation concentration of anti-migration agent, fixation chemical etc.. The printing qualities according to pretreatment conditions were studied with color yield, printed capital letter sharpness and washing fastness. It was observed that the concentration of anti-migration agent, fixation agent(alkali) was closely related to printing qualities. For developing industrial technology of cellulosic digital printing textiles, optimum viscosity of pretreatment coating formulation is very important factor.

3D프린팅 조형설치물 경향분석에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Analysis of the Trend of installations Using 3D Printing Technique)

  • 본 논문은 발전하는 3D프린팅 기술의 추세에 맞추어 크기와 디자인의 한계를 벗어난 대형 조형 설치물 제작으로 3D프린팅을 이용한 사례를 분석함으로써 새로이 나타나는 경향을 도출하는 것에 목적을 두고 있다. 본 논문은 3D프린팅으로 제작한 조형설치물의 유형을 분류하고 2가지 경향으로 분석하였다. 첫째, 디자인 측면의 경향, 둘째, 출력방식 측면의 경향이다. 본 연구를 통해 도출된 3D프린팅 조형설치물이 나아가고 있는 경향은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 알고리즘을 통한 디자인 구현이 이루어지면서 복잡한 표현이 두드러지는 비정형 디자인으로 변혁이 나타나고 있다. 둘째, 로봇 공학과 3D프린팅의 적층 제조기술이 융합되어 기존의 패러다임을 전환하고 있다. 따라서 알고리즘 디자인 구현 방식과 Freeform 3D프린팅 기술의 상호작용으로 3D프린팅 조형설치물의 제작과 활용이 더욱 빠른 속도로 진행됨을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구는 전 세계 3D프린팅 조형설치물을 대상으로 연구를 진행하였으며, 앞으로 발전할 국내 3D프린팅 기술과 함께 3D프린팅 조형설치물 제작 연구의 기초적인 역할을 하였다. 추후 재료 및 결합 방식 등 다양한 측면에서 분석한 후속 연구가 필요함을 밝힌다.
