  • Print-through is one of the most important attributes of print quality and has long been a subject to study. However, some aspects of print through are still in need to be enlighten. In this paper, different kinds of evaluating methods for print through are compared using densitometry, brightness, and image analysis. Printing conditions including ink feed, drying condition, and emulsification rate are systematically changed to effect print-through both on uncoated and coated commercial papers. Also several inks from different makers are introduced and compared in terms of print-through propensity. From the results, densitometry is not a good indicator for print through on the papers in this study. Ink feed has a strong effect on print through, especially for uncoated paper and should be considered in a point of optimum ink feed level in real world. Contribution of faster ink(oil) absorption seems to be more competitive than that of ink(oil) evaporation resulting in severer print-through for hot drying process. It is shown that ink-water emulsification rate increases print through at mild level but easy to decrease it with lower density due to the increase of water contents in emulsion. It is believed that the effect of absorption overwhelms that of density drop at mild emulsification level. This study does not include the effect of ink attributes in detail but shows that distinctive differences in print through may be resulted from various ink-makers and is finalized with some suggestions.

  • Recycled pulp therefore play a very important role in the paper industry today as a substitute for virgin pulp. In many countries of the world, the paper industry could not exist as it does without recycled pulp. Because, this is mainly due to economic reasons. Particularly in our country, the additional reason is the scarcity of native pulpwood resources. Therefore, the use of recycled pulp is very important. This study was aimed to apply recycled pulp to textbook paper. So we made a paper containing 30% recycled pulp and investigated about print quality, such as color reproduction, trapping, contrast, dot gain, gloss and print through. The results showed that is similar to existing textbook papers.

  • Properties of newly developed paper from Red Algae Pulp (RAP) were examined. The paper samples were prepared by mixing RAP fiber with wood fibers, HwBKP and SwBKP, to form a paper with $60g/m^2$ in weight. It was prepared in three to four different levels of refining degree and pressure so that it can reveal different bulk level in order to clearly compare the opacity at equivalent bulk for each furnish compositions. Printability of RAP fiber revealed superior effect on print through repression and initial ink absorption. Those properties are expected to improve further if printability improvement effect due to smoothness improvement is added.

  • DNA microarray experiments allow us to study expression of thousands of genes simultaneously, Normalization is a process for removing noises occurred during the microarray experiment, Print-tip is regarded as one main sources of noises, In this paper, we review normalization methods most commonly used in the microarray experiments, Especially, we investigate the effects of print-tips through simulated data sets.

  • In this paper, we found the solution using data based machine learning regression method to check the pore shape, to solve the problem of the experiment quantity occurring when producing scaffold with the 3d printer. Through experiments, we learned secured each print condition and pore shape. We have produced the scaffold from scaffold pore shape defect prediction model using multiple linear regression method. We predicted scaffold pore shapes of unsecured print condition using the manufactured scaffold pore shape defect prediction model. We randomly selected 20 print conditions from various predicted print conditions. We print scaffold five times under same print condition. We measured the pore shape of scaffold. We compared printed average pore shape with predicted pore shape. We have confirmed the prediction model precision is 99 %.

  • This paper was analyzed the characteristics of piezoelectric inkjet print head using finite element method(FEM). It showed the bending node driving of piezoelectric and relation theory principle consider piezoelectric material characteristics and ink characteristics. From such result we were had the piezoelectric head design and manufacture. It got a this head characteristics through experiment, we confirmed that proper voltage control is possible to through ink drop control experiment of piezoelectric print head. This paper was obtained the suitable ink jetting characteristics that manufacture the control circuit and piezoelectric inkjet print head. This practice product was applied to improvement of PCB electric circuit pattern by etching resist ink that PCB manufactured to complex process over traditional 6 stages can be simpled to 1 stage by inkjet printing technology.

  • Animal authentication, where an animal is identified as the preregistered specific one or not, is exploited various fields such as animal hospital, animal shop, animal shelter, and animal insurance. Nose-print is widely exploited to identify animal as fingerprint is exploited to identify human. This paper introduces an animal administration system, where it performs animal registration and authentication through nose-print recognition and it connects various clients through blockchain network.

  • As the public Japanese art, print can be said to have started from Ukiyo-e print of Edo period(江戶時代, 1603~1867). Ukiyo-e(浮世繪) print, which 3 persons jointly produce, henceforth has gradually declined since the meiji period(明治時代, 1868~1912) due to the development of new print technique and introduction of western art. Since then, during the daiso period(大正時代 1912~1926), creative print movement grew up. Creative print is, differently from Ukiyo-e print, to be produced by one person, from the original picture to print, focusing on creating the artist's own work by being the main agent of the work. During before and after 1900s, print was evaluated low in Japan, compared to western painting, sculpture, etc. Nevertheless, the facts that several Japanese print artists received awards from international exhibits since 1950s became a big topic internationally, which became an opportunity to hold Tokyo International Print Biennale in 1957 in Japan, the first international art festival. From then on, print was recognized as an art genre while new recognition on it was gradually accepted also in Japan. In 1970, a controversy on it arose, while the characteristic of print as a medium of modern art became strong, accordingly, a controversy on it arose. However, in 1980, it firmly established itself as an art genre by overcoming the crisis through various efforts in the dimension of print artists and university education. Since then, print artists who produce new works with completeness by applying traditional technique and modern expression mode emerged, and until now Japanese modern print art is highly recognized by the world through the continuous overseas activities, research on print art, and cultivation of young print artists. This research looked back on the historical process when Japanese modern print art was created, which represents Asia, and investigated the cause that it could have win an international fame.

  • Although printing technology has recently been widely used in IT fields including displays and fuel cells, residual and thermal stress are generated by a manufacturing process of stacking the layers of the print head and result in the substrate deformation and nozzle plate crack, which may cause ink leaks or not be ejected onto a desired region. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new design of thermal inkjet print head with a robust and reliable structure. Diverse types of inkjet print head such as a rib, pillar, support wall and individual feed hole are designed to reduce the deformation of the substrate and nozzle plate, and their feasibility is numerically investigated through FEA analysis. The numerical results show that the maximum stress and deformation of proposed print head dramatically drops to at least 40~50%, and it is confirmed that there is no nozzle plate cracks and ink leakage through the fabrication of pillar and support wall typed print head. Therefore, it is expected that the proposed head shape can be applied not only to ink ejection in the normal direction, but also to large-area printing technology.
