A study on the Contemporary Art Inspiration in Contemporary Fashion Design (현대패션에 나타난 Contemporary Art Inspiration 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to suggest more specific method to express art connected to the factor of fashion design by classifying fashion case combined with contemporary art, which is expressed through visual factor of fashion, analyzing exchange phenomenon, trend and change aspect of art and fashion and researching its expression type under the background of art preference phenomenon of contemporary art. From the result of measuring the frequency of contemporary art type, it was found that various types and artists' works were applied to fashion industry. Therefore, the scope of contemporary art, which is used for fashion, is being enlarged and new type is appearing every year continuously. Especially, its frequency was highest in 2008 S/S. In addition, it was found that it was more frequent in S/S season rather than in F/W season. From the result of analyzing expression method of contemporary art inspiration shown in fashion by classifying it into structure aspect, print aspect and 3D decoration aspect, in most cases, the contemporary art was used as a print or pattern for dress or accessory. The print aspect could be divided into geometric abstraction pattern, expressional abstract pattern, trompe-l'oeil pattern, graffiti pattern, picture image pattern and cartoon pattern in detail.

  • WPS(Wifi Positioning System) is a location determination technique that utilizes AP information scattered all over the real world. In general, the finger print technique is used for location calculations in WPS. However the finger print technique is a location determination technique that utilizes average values and has problems in the accuracy of the location determination. It also shows low performance of the system due to arithmetic operations. In this paper, the MSS(Max Signal Strength) method is proposed to resolve the existing problems in the finger print technique. The proposed method can reduce the operation time and improve the accuracy of the system under the same conditions. Test environments of the system is presented and the performance of the system is analyzed to verify the methods.

The Effects of Ink Emulsion on Printed Mottle (잉크 유화가 인쇄 모틀에 미치는 영향)

  • Lithography like off-set printing is processed using the repellent properties between water and oil, so all inks for off-printing must work with dampening solution(water). The dampening water may cause the emulsification of ink by the printing pressure in the printing nip. This study aimed to investigate the effect of emulsified inks on print mottle. The cyan ink was emulsified artificially with the different IPA(isopropyl alcohol) content in this study. We evaluated the print mottle by densitometer and image analysis method. The print mottle phenomenon was directly affected by IPA content. The emulsification of inks also had an influence on flow properties of inks and it increased ink transfer rate. It, however, caused low ink density. Moreover the emulsified inks were spreaded to around dots and cause the thinning density on the non-printing area like print mottle. The trial printing showed that the emulsified inks also cause scumming on the printing result with little mistake of adjusting dampening solution and mostly decreasing dot reproduction. We could, therefore, find out the obvious effect of emulsified inks on print mottle.

  • Printed mottle of coated paper is one of the most common phenomenon and the most difficult problem in offset printing. Offset printing is processed mainly processed by the attractive properties between water and oil, so all inks for off-printing must work with dampening solution(water). It may cause the emulsion on the printing nip from the printing pressure. This study aimed to investigate the effect of emulsified inks on print mottle from emulsified cyan ink by force with each different IP A contents.   • When it comes to current growth trend for the printing process in Asia printing market, offset printing, gravure printing and screen printing are reduced respectively -4%, -19%, -55%. In judging from the fact, the change in the printing production system from mass production on small amount to small production on mass amount is the biggest issue. For this reason, digital printing shows the significant growth. According to the increase of the growth 78% for electro photography way and 67% for ink-jet, it's not enough to catch up with digital printing which is increasing as time goes by to equip with hardware like as digital press. There's been necessary to install the BOD(Book on Demand) system which is the advanced and regular publication edit solution based on web-to-print model in the prepress, and it has made the BOD system be considered in relation to maximization of efficiency and production. Therefore, this research tries to step forward from the POD concept, which is refired to "Print along with the ordered quantities, the ordered appropriate time and the demanded place", so that it could expand the range of the printing/publishing environment using the BOD system, the order-made publication based on automatically operating template. And it tried to make the relation to digital web press on ink-jet method which is adequate to "mass production on small amount" with such advanced concept. This research also aims to use actively BOD solution model to promote the productivity of labor, and then to produce the printings across all related industries, which means to manufacture maximally the products on the shortest time at minimum place through PC equipments.

Factors Affecting the Absorption and Diffusion of Disperse Dye in Print Paste for Polyester Film (폴리에스테르 필름에 대한 날염호 중의 분산염료의 염착 및 확산에 영향을 미치는 인자)

  • The factors which affect the absorption and diffusion of disperse dye in print paste for polyester film were investigated using film roll method. When Emvatex print paste of different disperse dye concentrations were fixed by high temperature steaming(HTS) for 2 hr at $190^{\circ}C$, the dye uptake and diffusion distance of 50g/kg dye concentration for PET film were very low, but those of 100$\sim$300g/kg were increased with increasing dye concentration. It was found that sodium alginate(5%) was more effective for the absorption and diffusion of disperse dye to PET film than CMC(3%) and Emvatex(18%), and Emvatex showed comparatively low absorption in three thickeners used. The dye uptake and diffusion distance of disperse dye in sodium alginate paste for PET film were increased with increasing paste thickness to $160\sim180{\mu}m$, but were decreased at $200\sim220{\mu}m$ in both fixations of baking and HTS for 2 hr at $190^{\circ}C$, and were far more largely increased by fixation of HTS than baking because steam was very important for fixation. Also it was confirmed that dye uptake was slightly increased as steam supply pressure was raised from 1 $kg/cm^2$ to 2 $kg/cm^2$, andthe dye uptake and diffusion distance of disperse dye were outstandingly increased with raising fixing temperature from $170^{\circ}C$ to $190^{\circ}C$ and fixing time from 0.5 hr to 3 hr in the fixation of HTS.

  • Despite efforts to apply 3D print (3DP) technology in the field of fashion and endless discussions about the possibility of future development, in reality, it is difficult to utilize 3DP technology in fashion for reasons related to material, technology, and cost constraints. The purpose of this study was to supplement the limitations of 3DP technology in order to promote its utilization in fashion and simultaneously find a solution to achieve aesthetic satisfaction in the design method. Specifically, through the development of fashion products with a 3DP polymer-fabric structure to which the parametric design methodology has been applied, this study explored the possibility of practical application and proposes a new 3DP fashion design method. The 3DP polymer-fabric developed as a result of the research was stably adhered to the fabric. Additionally, the study confirmed the possibility of making 3DP clothes that are amenable to the wearer's activities, as it was verified that cutting and sewing tailored to the human body's curvature and structure can be performed. The design process using the 3DP polymer-fabric presented in this study is meaningful in that it suggests a solution to complement the limitations of modern technology in connection with designers' creativity. Moreover, the design process presented in this study is expected to contribute to the commercialization and generalization of 3DP by providing practical help to allow fashion experts to utilize 3DP technology.

  • This is the study which appear the relation between the situation of Anchor point and the qualities of lithographic prints using the uncoated paper. Anchor point were measured by microscopic photography and Kubelka-munk`s method. The situation of Anchor point increased with print density and print though, but it decreased with evenness and rub off. In case of commercial uncoated paper, the situation of Anchor point was optimized when it was 25~35% apporoximately. In preparation of samples for microscopic photography, the samples were used by the resin testing methods. This method used that the resin fixes the printed papers of sample very hard, in preparation of samples for microscopica potography a good result could be gained by this method.

  • To study the effects of fabrication methods on the performance and durability of polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells (PEMFCs), membrane-electrode assemblies (MEAs) were fabricated using a Dr blade method, a spray method, screen print method and screen print + spray method. The performance of single cells assembled with the prepared MEAs were initially measured and compared. Electrode accelerated stress testing (AST) involving a potentiostatic step-wave with 10 s at 0.6 V followed by 30 s at 0.9 V was applied to test durability of MEAs. Before and after 6,000cycles of the AST, I-V curves, impedance spectra, cyclic voltammograms, linear sweep voltammetry (LSV) and transmission electron microscope (TEM) were measured. Under the operating conditions, the Dr Blde MEA exhibited the highest initial performance. After electrode accelerated stress testing, screen print + spray MEA showed lowest degradation rate.

  • For as to world, the concern about the environment problem is enhanced than any other time in the past because of being 21 century. And the environment problem is highlighted as the world-wide issue. The time of the environment problem intimidates the alive of the mankind and presence of an earth over the time. It becomes the essentiality not being selection in the personal living or the economical viewpoint now to prepare for the climatic modification. As to the company management, the green growth period which it excludes the environment management considering an environment, cannot carry on the company the continued management comes. That is, in the change center of the management paradigm, there is the environment management. Nearly, the greenhouse gas which the publication industry is the environmental toxic material like all industries is generated. The greenhouse gas is ejected in the process of running the manufacturing process and print shop of the various kinds material used as the raw material of the book. Particularly, the tree felling for getting the material of the paper is known to reach the direct influence on the global warming. This study does according to an object it considers and organizes the environment parameter based on this kind of fact as to the publication industry. And it is determined as the reference which is used as the basic materials preparing the case that carbon exhaust right transaction(CAP and TRADE) drawing are enforced in all industries and is sustainable the management of the publication industry and reduces the environmental risk among the company many risk management elements and plans and enforces the publication related policy that there is a value. In the printing publication industry, this study tried to inquire into elements discharging the environmental pollutant or the greenhouse gas. Additionally, in the printed publication production process, it tried to inquire into the effort for an environment-friendly and necessity at the printing paper and the printers ink, regarded as the element discharging the greenhouse gas all kinds of the printing materials, operation of the print shop and all kinds of the machines and recycle process, and etc. These considerations make these industrial field employees aware of the significance about a conservation and environmental protection. They try to give a help in the subsequent study producing quantitatively each environmental parameter emission of green house gas. This makes the calculation of the relative $CO_2$ output reproached ultimately possible. Meanwhile, in a sense, many research protects and improving an environment in connection with the contents of research at the printing publication industrial field is in progress. There will be the voluntary human face that it has to protect an environment but this can not do by the outside factor according to all kinds of environment related law and regulation. Anyway, because of acting on company management as the factor of oppression, the increase of this environment-related correspondence cost could know that the research that the environment loading relates with a procurement and development, environment management system introduction, quality control standard, including, normalizing including a material, and etc. through the part of the effort to reduce the cost low was actively in progress. As to the green growth era, as follows, this paper prescribed the subject and alternative of the print publication industry. It is surrounded by the firstly new digital environment and the generation of the subject. And secondly the printing industry is caused by the point of time when the green growth leaves by the topic which is largest in the global industry and it increases. The printing publication industry has to prepare the bridgehead for the environment-friendly green growth as the alternative for this resolution with first. The support blown in each industry becomes the obligation not being selection. Prestek in which the print publishing was exposed to spend many energies and which is known as the practice of the sustainable print publishing insisted that it mentioned importance of the green printing through the white pages in 2008 and a company had to be the green growth comprised through the environment-friendly activity.
