A Experimental Study on a Pressure Variation in the Cavity of Hydrogen Diaphragm Compressor (다이아프램식 수소압축기의 캐비티 내 압력특성 변화에 관한 실험적 연구)

  • Diaphragm compressors are used for a hydrogen compression because it can achieve high gas pressure with high purity. But diaphragm's lifetime may depend on the shape of the cavity and deflection from fluctuation the pressure change, which is necessary to monitored. In this study, the gas and hydraulic oil pressure in the cavity were measured as piston speed varies for diaphragm compressor. The results show pressure change quantities were reduced and maximum pressure points are delayed as the piston moves faster. And the hydraulic pressure were elevated as gas pressure elevated. And the compression period was more faster than expansion period.

Clinical Knowledge and Actual Performance of Pressure Ulcer Care by Hospital Nurses (중소병원간호사의 욕창간호지식과 간호수행에 관한 연구)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between clinical knowledge and provision of pressure ulcer care and to identify factors associated with performance of care. Methods: Participants were 202 nurses working in one of 6 small to medium hospitals. Self-report questionnaire were used and data were collected from December 11 to 18, 2009. Results: Mean score for knowledge about pressure ulcer care was 0.81. In subcategories, knowledge of risk factors inducing pressure ulcers was 0.93, knowledge of assessment of pressure ulcers was 0.90, and knowledge of treatment methods for pressure ulcers was 0.61. Mean score for performance of care activities for patients with pressure ulcers was 3.63/5. There was a significant positive correlation between knowledge and performance (r=.319, p<.001). According to multiple regression analysis, general perception (${\beta}=.306$, p<.001), knowledge (${\beta}=.247$, p<.001), and hospital size (${\beta}=.156$, p= .015) had an impact on the extent of nurses' performance of pressure ulcer care. Conclusion: Study results indicate that further education on pressure ulcer care is necessary to enhance nurses' knowledge about pressure ulcers and to increase rate of performance of pressure ulcer care.

  • Pressure control is possible by pulse width modulation signal driving a simple ON/OFF 2-way valve of hydraulic servo system. But it indices pressure fluctuation due to repeated on-off action and the pressure varies according to the duty ratio and carrier frequency. So mean pressure and ripple amplitude are arranged by experimental study as the driving signal change which decides the pressure characteristics. As the result selection criteria of the major design parameters may be established and the basic strategy to suppress the unnecessary flucturion may be provided for a hydraulic pressure control system.

  • This paper presents in experimental study of the dynamic internal pressure within an oil hydraulic vane pump. The measurements of the dynamic internal pressures near the vane of a pressure balance type of an oil hydraulic vane pump with intravanes has been made to provide the essential information for the study of the pump dynamics and control, the pump design and the analysis of tribological problems in the sliding components. The influences of the discharge pressure and rotating speed of the vane on the dynamic pressure in four chambers surrounding a vane have been investigated. The results indicate that the surge pressures of the chambers at the instant moment of discharge and closure are affected by the rotating speed. The pressure in the intravane chamber maintains almost constant values, which remarkably effects the pulsating discharge pressure.

  • This paper is a study on compensation for error in estimation of mean pressure according to the change of arterial pressure shape. Because arterial pressure shape affects the mean pressure and blood volume which are important factors for measurement of blood pressure(BP), change of arterial pressure shape cause BP measurement error. In order to solve this problem, we add the compensation function C($\alpha$), depending on arterial pressure shape, to mathematical oscillometric model. Consequently, we could accurately estimate the blood pressure by correcting of the error using compensation function.

The Association of Pulse Pressure and Pre-Metabolic Syndrome in Korean Middle Aged Men

  • Pulse pressure is an independent risk factor for cardiovascular disease. The aim of the present study was to assess the association between pulse pressure and metabolic syndrome in Korean men. The study subjects were 8,439 adults aged 40 to 64 years, who underwent health screening examination from January 2012 to December 2014 at the Health Promotion Center of one hospital in Gyeonggi-do for general health check-up. They include the metabolic syndrome absent group (Absent, n=3,078), the pre-metabolic syndrome group (Pre-MetS, n=4,242) and the metabolic syndrome group (MetS, n=1,119). Progressive increase in pulse pressure was demonstrated for increasing components of the metabolic syndrome (P<0.001). The pulse pressure according to the degree of the metabolic syndrome was higher in the pre-MetS and MetS groups compared to the Absent group (P<0.001). Systolic and diastolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, triglyceride, fasting glucose, and abdominal obesity positively correlated with pulse pressure (P<0.001).

  • This study was analyzed on relationship of blood vessel pressure massage and skin and management method on blood vessel pressure for skin care with Yin-yang 5 factors theory, Yin-yang 5 factors theory of blood vessel pressure massage with related Korean medicine is essential for descriptions of the physiology of human body and disease. Six elements(wind, heat, fire, dryness, wetness, and cold) and seven emotions(anger, happiness, thought, worry, sadness, surprise, and fear) effected on skin care and the five viscera and the six stomach. Blood vessel pressure massage related with skin consists of the five viscera and the six stomach and is improved blood circulation and is retarded aging of skin by controls of hormone and free nerve system. Blood vessel pressure massage for skin care improved in the intestine system and blood circulation and got healthy. The blood vessel pressure massage treatment of beauty art can aid the function of bio-rhythm of a human body and make our body health by healing the problems of the five viscera organs and the six stomach. It also help circulate of the blood flow and vigor. The study expects the related researches to improve the various treatments through this treatment. The researcher encountered many problems with the lack of concerned materials and former studies but expects this study to be a study to retard aging the skin and prevent the diseases through the study of the blood vessel pressure massage.

A Study on Pressure Drop in Two-Phase Flow Boiling of Refrigerants in Horizontal Tube (수평 전열관내 냉매의 이상유동 압력강하에 관한 연구)

  • An experimental study on the pressure drop during flow boiling for pure refrigerants R134a and Rl23, and their mixture was carried out in a uniformly heated horizontal tube. Tests were run at a pressure of 0.6 MPa and in the ranges of heat flux 5~50 kW/m$^2$, vapor quality 0~100 percent and mass velocity of 150~600 kg/m$^2$s. Generally, the two-phase frictional multiplier is used to predict the frictional pressure drop during the two-phase flow boiling. The obtained results have been compared to the existing various correlations for the two-phase multiplier. Also, the frictional pressure drop was compared to a few available correlations; The Lockhart-Martinelli correlation considerally overpredicted the frictional pressure drop data for mixture as well as pure components in the entire mass velocity ranges employed in the present study, while the Chisholm correlation underpredicted the present data. The Friedel correlation was found to satisfactorily correlate the frictional pressure drop data except for a low quality region.

Correlation of internal and external pressures and net pressure factors for cladding design

  • Net pressures on roofs and walls of buildings are dependent on the internal and external pressure fluctuations. The variation of internal and external pressures are influenced by the size and location of the openings. The correlation of external and internal pressure influences the net pressures acting on cladding on different parts of the roof and walls. The peak internal and peak external pressures do not occur simultaneously, therefore, a reduction can be applied to the peak internal and external pressures to obtain a peak net pressure for cladding design. A 1:200 scale wind tunnel model study was conducted to determine the correlations of external and internal pressures and effective reduction to net pressures (i.e., net pressure factors, FC) for roof and wall cladding. The results show that external and internal pressures on the windward roof and wall edges are well correlated. The largest ${\mathcal{C}}_{{\check{p},net}$, highest correlation coefficient and the highest FC are obtained for different wind directions within 90° ≤ θ ≤ 135°, where the large openings are on the windward wall. The study also gives net pressure factors FC for areas on the roof and wall cladding for nominally sealed buildings and the buildings with a large windward wall opening. These factors indicate that a 5% to 10% reduction to the action combination factor, KC specified in AS/NZS 1170.2(2011) is possible for some critical design scenarios.

A Developement of Ultra High Pressure Injection Equipment for Study on Diesel Spray Characteristics with Ultra High Pressure (극초고압 디젤분무특성 해석을 위한 극초고압 단발분사장치의 개발)

  • It was known that high pressure injection is an effective method to enhance thermal efficiency and decrease exhaust emissions in diesel engines. If injection pressure becomes ultra high, it is predicted that there may be a suitable injection pressure which the enhancement rate of spray characteristics is moderate. Also, there may be a limit injection pressure which spray characteristics is reversed and get worse. But these are unknown. To investigate a suitable injection pressure and a limit injection pressure, ultra high pressure injection equipment(UHPIE), which can realize the injection pressure of 3,200bar, was developed. UHPIE is a basic apparatus of single shot injection, and ultra high pressure was achieved by second stage rapid compression in short time. From the evaluation of UHPIE, a injection curve like a conventional diesel engine(jerk type) was realized. Also, it was proved that repetition of experiment was excellent. Therefore it was found that there was no problem to perform the study on the ultra high pressure injection with UHPIE. Consequently, the foundation of the study on ultra high pressure injection could be established.
