Data deduplication is a common used technology in backup systems and cloud storage to reduce storage costs and network traffic. To preserve data privacy from servers or malicious attackers, there has been a growing demand in recent years for individuals and companies to encrypt data and store encrypted data on a server. In this study, we introduce two cryptographic primitives, Convergent Encryption and Message-Locked Encryption, which enable deduplication of encrypted data between clients and a storage server. We analyze the security of these schemes in terms of dictionary and poison attacks. In addition, we introduce deduplication systems that can be implemented in real cloud storage, which is a practical application environment, and describes the proof of ownership on client-side deduplication.

We present a legorization framework that produces a LEGO model from user-specified 3D mesh model. Our framework is composed of two stages: voxelization and legorization. In the voxelization, input 3D mesh is converted to a voxel model. To preserve the shape of the 3D mesh, we devise a silhouette fitting process for the initial voxel model. For legorization, we propose three objectives: stability, aesthetics and efficiency. These objectives are expressed in a tiling equation, which builds a LEGO model using layer-by-layer approach. We legorize five models including characters and buildings to prove the excellence of our framework.

Purpose Wearable devices are widely used in our daily life. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between persuasive designs of fitness trackers and users' physical activity behavior. Methods To test the research model, data was collected from a web-based survey in China, resulting in an effective sample of 166 usable questionnaires. The survey was restricted only to respondents who wear a fitness tracker. Results The sample surveyed in this study indicated that half of the respondents had been wearing a smart fitness tracker shorter than one year, and only 27% were long-time users (longer than two years). Dialogue support and social support strategies were both proved to be effective in increasing users' workout behavior intention. Social support strategies had a greater effect on behavior change than dialogue support strategies. Conclusion The findings from this study make several contributions to the practice. Wearable devices developers can employ the result from this study to help them design devices, which can persuade people to do more exercises and preserve a healthier life.

The paper lists problems in defining information and knowledge and also in differentiating between the two. It separately describes physical, economic and cognitive properties of information and knowledge. A long drawn comparative chart of the nature, characteristics and properties of knowledge and information is given. In addition it explains their relation with wisdom. The paper emphasizes that knowledge is only a human preserve. Also it finds common grounds and mutual dependence between information, knowledge and wisdom. The purpose is to clear confusion between knowledge and information, and find their relation with wisdom and tradition by placing these in value added and evolutionary chain: Signals--data-- Information--Knowledge--Wisdom--Tradition.

A recursive parameter estimation method is applied to spindle deflection model during boring process. The spindle infeed rate is then determined to preserve the diametral tolerance of bore. This estimation method is further extended to adaptive control by application of the variance perturbation method. The results of computer simulation attest that the proposed method renders the optimal cutting conditions, maintaining the diametral accuracy of bore, regardless of parameter fluctuations. The proposed method necessitating only post-process measurements features that initialization of parameter guess values in simple, a priori knowledge on parameter variations is not needed and the accurate estimation of optimal spindle infeed rate is obtained, even if the parameter estimation may be poor.
The forest seemed apparently to die on the forest fire area in Honjima, Kagawa Prefecture, Japan. However, the soil that became growing basic of vegetation hardly suffered damage, and the forest recovery was started by the sprout, etc. in the next year. For restoration of forest fire area, the fascine mulching works and log barrier works using the damaged trees were used for the upper-stream, and chack dam and erosion control dam were set up in the downstream. Also, the forest restoration was tried with the plants and the microorganism that inhabit in Honjima to preserve a peculiar forest ecosystem.
This paper describes design and implementation of the DIDL(Digital Item Declaration Language) parser and Session mobility in Digital Item Adaptation. The DIDL is a declaration language which is a uniform and flexible abstraction and interoperable schema for declaring Digital Items. Session mobility specifies a mechanism to preserve a user's current state of interaction with a Digital Item. In this paper, Session mobility is implemented through the DIDL. For session mobility, the XDI (context digital item) shall capture the configuration-state of a Content digital item, shich is defined by the state of Selection elements in DIDL.

An efficient context-free multiple-object segmentation using attention operator based on modified generalized symmetry transform is proposed and implemented by modifying a radial basis function network. By using the difference of intensity gradient, instead of te intensity gradient itself, in generalized symmetry tranform so as to make the attention operator to preserve the edges of the objects shape, an efficient context-free multiple-object segementation is proposed in which no a priori shape informtion on the objects is requried. The attention operator is implemented by using a modified radial basis function network which can reflect symmetry, and by using te edge pyramid of the input image, both of the local and the global symmetry of the objects are reflected simultaneously to make the multiple-object with different sizes be segmented with a singel fixed-size $n\timesm$ can be done with O(n) complexity. The simulaton results show that the proposed algorithm can efficiently be used in context-free multiple-object segmentation even for the low contrast IR images as well as for the images from the camera.
In this paper, we used the supra fuzzy topology which generated from a fuzzy bitopological space [1] to introduce and study the concepts of continuity (resp. openness, closeness) of mapping, separation axioms and compactness for a fuzzy bitopological spaces. Our definition preserve much of the correspondence between concepts of fuzzy bitopological spaces and the associated fuzzy topological spaces.
To improve freshness of onion(Allium cepa), it was packed with various packaging films and stored at 5$^{\circ}C$ until 52 days. During the storage, internal gas composition, weight loss, spout ratio, decay ratio, surface color were determined. The used packaging films are two-perforated LDPE (control), LDPE, CPP/OPP/PE, Nylon/PE and Ag-zirconium filled LDPE. Onions were prepared by peeling or dipping in GFSE(grape fruit seed extract) and packed under vacuum or atmosphere with the selective films. Anaerobic condition was shown in the Nylon/PE package after 4 days and, thus weight loss, sprout ratio and color were considerably poor. All onions in the vacuum package after 15 days were spouted. Onions in CPP/OPP/PE and functional film(Ag-zirconium filled LDPE) package showed aerobic respiration until 52 days. Thus, the quality of onions in these packages was superior to the control.
