유류 오염지역 토양의 위해성 평가 및 사전복원목표 산정 사례연구 (Case Study of Health Risk Assessment and Preliminary Remediation Goals Calculation for the Petroleum Contaminated Site)

  • As concerns on the effects of soil contamination on human health have grown, more efforts have been made to quantify the effects. One of such efforts is the development of risk assessment methodology. The fundamental objectives of this approach is to investigate the alternative options that reduce the risk of hazardous chemicals results from environmental pollution, which will eventually lead to an accomplishment of removement of identified toxicants in polluted environment. The U.S. EPA Risk Assessment guidance for the superfund (RAGS) provides a methods for assessing the health risk of contaminated soils and determining the preliminary remediation goals (PRGs). Using this approach, we assessed the health risk and preliminary remediation goals of petroleum contaminated site in Kyounggi province.

  • Recently, a technique based on BIM has been rapidly increased on the construction project. Task such as a calculation of supply easily is proceeded by the technique. Also, an quick and precise preliminary estimate is possible because this technique can be applied. To sum up, this study suggests that the preliminary estimate based on a database of the BIM technique is applicable for the early stage of the construction project.

  • A PSWATH is a computer program for the determination of principal particulars of Small Waterplane Area Twin Hull (SWATH) Ship design at the preliminary design stage. This paper describes the PSWATH system and the underlying theory. The major calculation modules are hull definition, resistance and propulsion, weight estimation and pitch stability analysis. Use of the model is illustrated by input, output and means of examples.

국가 방사성폐기물 관리계획에 관한 지속가능 발전지표의 예비평가 (Preliminary Calculation of the Indicators of Sustainable Development for National Radioactive Waste Management Programs)

  • 1992년 리우 환경개발회의에서 채택된 Agenda 21에서 방사성폐기물의 안전관리를 위한 정책방향이 결정된 후, 국제연합은 방사성폐기물 안전관리를 지속 가능한 발전의 범위에 포함하여 국제원자력기구의 주관 하에 관련 지표의 개발 및 적용을 추진하고 있다. 2002년 국제원자력기구는 방사성폐기물관리에 관한 지속가능 발전지표를 확정하고 현재 운영중인 방사성폐기물 데이터베이스 시스템인 NEWMDB와 연계하여 회원국의 방사성폐기물관리 체계 및 현황을 정량적인 지표로 평가할 예정이다. 본 논문에서는 방사성폐기물에 관한 지속가능 발전지표의 도입근거와 적용상의 한계점을 분석하고, 국제원자력기구가 제시한 지표의 평가방법과 표준화된 절차를 도식화하였다. 도출된 평가절차에 따라 우리나라를 포함한 주요 국가의 방사성폐기물관리 체계 및 현황자료를 이용하여 각 국의 방사성폐기물관리에 관한 지속가능 발전지표를 평가하고 그 결과를 비교 분석하였다. 또한 지표의 향상을 통해 국내 방사성폐기물관리의 지속 가능성을 제고할 수 있는 방안을 도출하였다.

해양 공사 EPC 견적용 중량 추산 방법에 관한 기초 연구 (A Preliminary Study on a Method for the Weight Estimation and Calculation of Offshore EPC Projects)

  • There are several existing studies for the weight estimation of offshore plants. However, most of them were applicable at the pre-FEED (Front End Engineering Design) stage. In this paper, a preliminary study on a method for the weight estimation and calculation of offshore EPC (Engineering Procurement Construction) projects is made for the use at the estimation stage after FEED. Based on literature surveys including ISO (International Organization for Standardization) 19901-5 about weight estimation, we proposes new weight factors and a weight curve. Weight factors defined in this study include MTO (Material Take-Off), estimated weight, FEED maturity factor, allowance factor, and contingency factor. The proposed method utilizes bottom-up approach for weight estimation and it can be used for the weight estimation and calculation of offshore EPC projects at the estimation stage.

  • In this study, the procedures for the preliminary design of the turbo-shaft engine for the light multi-purpose helicopter are established. The engine specifications are determined through the performance analysis on the on-design and off-design conditions by the use of simulation program. In addition, the effect of humidity on the engine performance is examined by considering the change of the gas properties and characteristic maps due to moisture contents. The calculation results show that the engine power is reduced by the existence of moisture in working fluid.

  • Involved in a research for the application of seismic isolation to the nuclear industry, this study evaluates firstly the responses of seismic isolation system considering general ranges of structural period and damping ratio by using preliminary design formula. Secondly, coupling effects of input motions were evaluated to find out appropriate conditions of excitations and effect of the iteration for calculating yield displacement of lead core was also assessed in terms of response of a seismically isolated structure. Finally, the results of preliminary design calculation were compared with those of dynamic analysis and the propriety of the formula was evaluated and appropriate ranges of reduction factor were also suggested from the results.

  • This paper describes the plans of considering the environmental influences in the preliminary feasibility investigation of railroad work. Because the cost-benefit analysis method about the environmental costs by air pollution and traffic noise is mainly applied in preliminary feasibility investigation, not only the verification in the calculation method of these environmental costs but also the consideration in the environmental costs of the topographical damage and the ecosystem extinction by railroad work is needed. The environment-friendly plans in choosing the locations of the railroad route and station are also suggested, and they include (1) consideration of environment protection area, residential zone, and region with scenic beauty, (2) application of the existing railroad route and station, and (3) railroad route parallel to another traffic facility.

  • The flow inside an axial turbomachinery with multi-stage can be characterized as unsteady phenomena. In order to predict accurately these complex unsteady flow patterns including rotor-stator interaction effects, enormous computer resources are required. So it is not compatible in preliminary design process. In this study, steady coupled blade row flow with rotor-stator interaction solver is developed using interrow mixing model and used to predict the performance of the axial fan. To verify the computational method, the calculations are compared with experimental results and show satisfactory agreement with them. The interaction effects on the performance of the axial fan have also been studied by comparing the results of steady coupled blade row and steady single blade row flow calculation.
