Purpose: This research was to understand the consumer awareness and consumption of natural carbonated drinks in Korea. Methods: A survey was conducted enrolling adults over the age of 20, residing in Seoul and its metropolitan area, and who consumed natural carbonated drinks. Data analysis of 544 valid samples was performed using SPSS 17.0. Results: The study showed that consumers mostly purchased natural carbonated water the most, primarily as a water substitute. However, many other usages that the consumer selected showed a possibility for a more versatile usages of natural carbonated drinks. As for the reason of purchase, 'interest in a new product' showed the highest mean value. The factor 'interest in a new product', 'interest in its effectiveness on skin care and diet', 'lower-calorie products', 'health benefits from the usage of natural flavoring and coloring' and 'recommendation from acquaintances' showed statistically significant higher values for women than men. The most frequent and preferred location for purchase were large discount stores, and the most preferred, major informants were in the order 'tasting events at marts and department stores', 'TV/radio advertisement' and 'recommendations from family/friends'. Analysis of the purchase intent showed high interest for non-alcoholic natural carbonated drinks. Conclusion: The study results can be used as baseline data to establish marketing strategies in the emerging natural carbonated beverage market.
This study was conducted to provide basic data for evolving a strategy for the development of Vietnam's customized HMR program and formulating a marketing strategy by analyzing the characteristics and variations of HMR consumption behavior by household size. The results of the analysis were as follows: The number of single households using HMR as a general meal at home was higher than multiple-person households. Moreover, there was a high preference for 'ready to heat' and 'ready to eat' products, which are relatively easy to cook and prepare. It was observed that single households preferred department stores, hypermarkets, and convenience stores for purchasing HMR when compared to multiple households, and that single households preferred to acquire information through TV/radio and internet advertisements. Among the HMR selection attributes, single households valued taste, quantity, price, preparation process, preparation time, and ease of storage as important. Reflecting on the results of this study, when developing HMR in Vietnam, it is necessary to develop a product that can nutritionally replace the general meal with a focus on convenience. In addition, there is a need for products that possess various attributes such as convenience, health, and eco-friendliness.
This study examined the shop selection standards and preferred shops depending on the clothing attitudes identified by the psychological characteristics of consumers. To this end, this study selected the Korean Chinese college women in Yanbian. The study was conducted against 300 college students from May to June, 2002. Questionnaire was used for studying the subject of the thesis. Each question was rate4 in 5 point scale, where 1 means 'not at all' and 5 means 'definitely'. The data of this study was statistically analyzed using the SAS PC program. The t-test and $X^{2}$ were conducted to identify the evaluation criteria for clothing store and the preferred shops depending on clothing attitude groups and the factor analysis was carried out to analyze the clothing behavior factors. The results of study are summarized as described below. The clothing attitude of college women was classified into four factors: fashionable, brand-oriented, aesthetic and modest. The subjects were divided into two groups with higher average score and that with lower average score by factor, respectively. As a result of study on the evaluation standards of shop selection and preferred shops depending on the clothing attitude, for the evaluation standards of shop selection, three factors, fashionable, brand-oriented and modest factors, showed the significant difference between two groups. There was a significant difference between two groups in fashionable and brand-oriented factor and the preferred shops.
Knitwear has been used as an active and functional clothing item due to its flexible and soft nature. Diverse design expressions have made knitwear into an essential fashion item for people today, who are constantly seeking for ways to display their individualism. The purpose of this study is to analyze the actual wearing conditions, and the preferred designs of knitwear for female college students in order to provide a baseline data, which can be used to develop knitwear designs for the subjects of the study. Survey by questionnaire of 135 female college students in 3 universities in Seoul were analysed. The results of the study are as follows: First, the most owned knitwear were sweaters and cardigans. Knitwear was viewed as soft and warm, as well as versatile. It was not restricted to certain sizes, and was comfortable to wear for different activities. Seound, the most preferred items were sweaters and cardigans. The most preferred styles were round neckline sweaters and open V-neckline cardigans. Third, the most preferred designs were plain designs with achromatic colors and wool-blended fabrics. The most preferred images were simple images. The most preferred fit was loose enough for little bit of room inside. Fourth, appropriateness and design of the knitwear were assessed during the purchasing stage. the most preferred method of purchase was purchasing via online stores after researching the knitwear through various channels, such as store visits and the Internet. The preferred price of knitwear was below 100,000 KRW. Fifth, the most common complaints were as follows: changes in the shape and quality of the knitwear after a wash, appearance of nap, and loose threads. In short, it is necessary for female college students to develop high quality knitwear with designs that can display individuality, while being simple.
The purpose of this study was to observe a case study of pop-up stores in an apparel company in Korea in order to evaluate different feel and to determine the purchase behavior of pop-up visitors of three major fashion brands. This research was conducted through secondary data collection and primary data collection. A survey was conducted among NIKE, KUHO, and PUMA pop-up store visitors who were 20 to 40 years old, via questionnaires. Data were collected on-line and off line at the pop-up store. Data were analyzed using SPSS program. Through data analysis, we learned that most of the study participants were captivated by the digital elements in the environment of the NIKE pop-up store. Puma, the second most favorably ranked, was favored for its interior design. Meanwhile, KUHO stimulated its customers with its limited edition fashion products at a good price. Several feels of visitors about the pop-up stores were significantly different among the 3 different brands. There was a significant difference in purchase criteria, such as brand recognition, size, and design among visitors of the three different brands. Visitors who preferred KUHO considered design of products more than NIKE-preferred visitors. In conclusion, the clothing pop-up stores have the possibility of satisfying consumers' desires. Each brand can achieve a good performance in promotion with a differentiated strategy.
The purpose of this study was to identify middle-school boys' purchase behavior according to their shoes shopping orientation. A self-administered questionnaire was used to collect from 314 subjects. Factor analysis, Chi-square test, and one-way ANOVA were done using SPSS PC (Ver. 18.0). Most middle-school boys selected shoes that were 255~270mm, possessed on to two pairs of school shoes, searched for information for about five days before purchase, had spent 50,000~150,000 won on one to two pairs of shoes during the previous six months, saw design, comfort, and brand as their selection criteria, chose their shoes by themselves, shoes specialty stores, had favorite brands, preferred athletic shoes made of achromatic canvas, and bought new shoes when their old ones wore out. Factors of shoe shopping orientation were fashion and brand, economy, conformity, and comfort, and students were grouped into an active shopping group, an underdeveloped shopping orientation group, and a value pursuit group. The active shopping group bought more shoes, spent more on shoes, selected their shoes themselves, patronized discount shoe stores or specialty stores, and preferred national brand shoes. The underdeveloped shopping orientation group accepted their friends' opinions when selecting shoes and bought cheaper shoes. The value pursuit group accepted their parents' opinions when selecting shoes, patronized internet shopping malls or traditional markets, and selected cheaper shoes. The shoe shopping orientation of middle-school boys was immature, but they showed strong consumption needs.
The purpose of this study was to identify women's clothing image according to their body image. Self-administered questionnaires were used for data collection. The results were as followed: First, the body image was shown in three dimensions of care for appearance, concern about weight, and appearance attractiveness. And clothing image was shown in seven dimensions of gorgeousness, beauty, sophistication, comfort, confidence, neatness, and feminity. Second, women were segmented into interest in appearance attractiveness group, body image intermediate group, appearance & weight concern group, and body image retard group. Interest in appearance attractiveness group and appearance & weight concern group were found frequently among women in 20s and students or unmarried women, preferred for gorgeousness and feminity of clothing more, and enjoyed internet shopping. Appearance & weight concern group was heavier than interest in appearance attractiveness group. Body image intermediate group were found frequently among women of lower education, and shopped at stores. Third, younger unmarried women preferred for beauty, confidence, and feminity of clothing image and older women preferred for comfort more. Women who preferred for beauty and sophistication of clothing image shopped at internet shopping mall more frequently.

This study determines a consumer retail store choice by applying the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method for multi-criteria decision-making in the fashion retail industry. The study provides detailed and relevant information for management, marketers of fashion retail stores, and to improve competition between suppliers. Data was collected in February 2011 from questionnaires completed by 319 university students in Busan, South Korea. One of the major findings of this study was that consumer store preference was affected by the following factors in order of importance: product, image, service quality, and purchase facilitation. Brand image was assessed to be the most important of the evaluation elements, followed by individuality, style, and price. The results of rating the relative importance and priority of fashion retailers showed that department stores ranked most highly, followed by outlet malls, Internet shopping malls, brand malls, and discount stores.

In this study, clothing consumption behaviors of Russian and Korean female college students were compared. Data were collected by conducting surveys in Russia and Korea. In results, Russian female college students spent considerably more money on clothing than did Korean students, compared to the income level. Korean consumers bought clothing mostly in the department stores, whereas Russian consumers preferred large shopping centers, discount stores and traditional markets to shop clothing. As important factors affecting clothing purchase decision, Russian consumers considered country of origin while Korean consumers considered style. Korean consumers were satisfied more on domestic brands than did Russian consumers while Russians were more satisfied with foreign brands than did Koreans. Russian consumers considered diverse factors in forming attitude and buying intention toward domestic and foreign brands. In contrast, Korean consumers' attitude and purchase intention were influenced much by style. Based on study results, marketing implications were provided.
Purpose: The purpose of this study is to shopping medium determinants and consumer behavior differences based on the value of consumption. Methodology: The subjects of the survey were adult men and women in their 20s or older living in Korea, and 283 valid responses were obtained. A Logit model was used to identify consumption value factors and shopping medium choices. A t-test was conducted to analyze the differences between consumer behavior based on preferred shopping medium (on/offline). Results: The inclusion of community-oriented factors such as eco-friendliness and social contributions lead to higher likelihood of choosing offline shopping. In addition, consumers who value self-expression and who are price sensitive are more likely to choose online stores. Conclusions: It was found that community-oriented factors lead shoppers to choose offline shopping, and the need for self-expression lead shoppers to choose online stores.
