고온 화학센서용 다결정 3C-SiC 쇼트키 다이오드 제작과 그 특성 (Fabrication and characteristics of polycrystalline 3C-SiCSchottky diodes for high temperature chemical sensors)

  • This paper describes the fabrication of a Pd/poly 3C-SiC Schottky diode and its characteristics, in which the poly 3C-SiC layer and Pd Schottky contact were deposited by using APCVD and sputter, respectively. Crystalline quality, uniformity, and preferred orientations of the Pd thin film were evaluated by SEM and XRD, respectively. Pd/poly 3C-SiC schottky diodes were fabricated and characterized by I-V and C-V measurements. Its electric current density Js and barrier height voltage were measured as $2{\times}10^{-3}A/cm^2$ and 0.58 eV, respectively. These devices were operated until about $400^{\circ}C$. Therefore, from these results, Pd/poly 3C-SiC Schottky devices have very high potential for high temperature chemical sensor applications.

Fe-Co-Ni합금박막의 조성 및 자기적 성질 (Composition and Coercivity of Fe-Co-Ni Alloy Electrodeposits)

  • The composition, the microstructure and the magnetic properties(HC and Hk) of Fe-Co-Ni alloy electrodeposits were investigated according to the electrolysis conditions using sulfate bath paddle agitated. The current efficiency of the alloys electrodeposition was considerably low in the range of 16∼50%. The Fe content(wt.%) of the alloy increased from 20% to 57% with current density, while Ni content of them decreased in the range of 70∼24% respectively, and Co content was nearly constant. As a result, Fe/Ni ratio of the alloy increased from 0.3 to 2.0 showing the anomalous codeposition. The structure of the alloy changed from fcc to the mixed one of fcc+bcc with the increase of Fe/Ni ratio. The preferred orientation of the alloy with fcc and bcc structure were (220) and (110) respectively. The alloy with Fe/Ni ratio(0.3∼l.2) had the lowest coercivity of 0.4∼0.8 Oe.

VMn underlayer for CoCrPt Longitudinal Recording Media

  • In this study, the magnetic properties of CoCrPt films (far longditudinal recording) on a novel VMn underlayer were measured and compared with similar films on conventional Cr underlayers. It was found that the VMn film had (200) preferred orientation and the lattice constant was about 0.2967 nm, which is slightly larger than that of the Cr film, 0.2888 m. The grain size of the VMn film was 9.8 nm at 30 m thickness, about 39% smaller than that of a similarly deposited Cr. The CoCrPt/VMn films showed higher coercivity in comparison with the CoCrPt/Cr films. The coercivity increase is attributed to the increased Co (11.0) texture, improved lattice matching between Co (11.0) and VMn (200), and lower stacking fault density. V or Mn must have diffused into the CoCrPt magnetic layer uniformly rather than preferentially along grain boundaries. This reduced Ms at higher substrate temperature.

Mobility Enhancement in Polycrystalline Silicon Thin Film Transistors due to the Dehydrogenation Mechanism

  • We investigated the mechanism of mobility enhancement after the dehydrogenation process in polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) thin films. The dehydrogenation process was performed by using an in-situ CVD chamber in a $N_2$ ambient or an ex-situ furnace in air ambient. We observed that the dehydrogenated poly-Si in a $N_2$ ambient had a lower oxygen concentration than the dehydrogenated poly-Si annealed in an air ambient. The in-situ dehydrogenation increased the (111) preferred orientation of poly-Si and reduced the oxygen concentration in poly-Si thin films, leading to a reduction of the trap density near the valence band. This phenomenon gave rise to an increase of the field-effect mobility of the poly-Si thin film transistor.

  • In this study, effects of novel VMn underlayer on magnetic properties of CoCrPt/VMn longitudinal medium was studied and compared with those of CoCrPt/Cr medium. Transitional Dark Energy - A solution to the H0 tension

  • In this talk, I will explain the implications of a rapid appearance of dark energy between the redshifts ($z$) of one and two on the expansion rate and growth of perturbations. Using both Gaussian process regression and a parametric model, I show that this is the preferred solution to the current set of low-redshift ($z<3$) distance measurements if $H_0=73~\rm km\,s^{-1}\,Mpc^{-1}$ to within 1\% and the high-redshift expansion history is unchanged from the $\Lambda$CDM inference by the Planck satellite. Dark energy was effectively non-existent around $z=2$, but its density is close to the $\Lambda$CDM model value today, with an equation of state greater than $-1$ at $z<0.5$. If sources of clustering other than matter are negligible, we show that this expansion history leads to slower growth of perturbations at $z<1$, compared to $\Lambda$CDM, that is measurable by upcoming surveys and can alleviate the $\sigma_8$ tension between the Planck CMB temperature and low-redshift probes of the large-scale structure.

CoRe에 기반한 밀도 개념 수업이 개념형성과 수업만족도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of CoRe-based Density Unit Lesson on Conceptual Formation and Class Satisfaction)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 CoRe에 기반한 밀도 개념 수업이 개념형성과 수업만족도에 미치는 영향을 알아보는 것이었다. 연구를 위하여 중학교 2학년 6개 학급 240명을 각각 120명씩 2개의 집단으로 나누어, CoRe에 기반한 밀도 개념 수업을 실시한 실험집단과 전통적 학습방법에 의한 수업을 실시한 통제집단 간 개념형성 정도를 분석하였다. CoRe에 기반한 밀도 개념 수업은 기존에 밀도에 관해 연구된 CoRe를 분석하여 이를 바탕으로 4차시분으로 구성하였다. 연구 결과, 실험집단이 통제집단보다 밀도 개념형성 정도에 대한 사후검사와 파지검사에서 모두 통계적으로 유의하게 높게 나타났다. 이는 CoRe에 기반한 수업이 수업 과정에서 학생들의 선수 개념이나 밀도와 관련된 오인에 연계된 활동을 통하여 학생들 스스로 예측, 관찰, 설명, 추론 등의 탐구 활동을 하도록 안내하며 학습과정에서 학생, 수업환경, 평가 등 다양한 측면의 어려움과 한계점을 인식하고 이를 최대한 해결하고자 하는 수업전략을 중심으로 수업을 진행하였기 때문이라고 해석된다. 또한, 실험집단의 학생들은 과학관련 태도 수준이 높거나 과학 학업성취 수준이 높은 학생들에게서 높은 수업만족도를 보였다. 설문 조사 결과, 실험집단은 CoRe에 기반한 수업을 통해 다양한 생각을 할 기회가 있었으며, 개념을 제시하는 것이 아닌 찾아가는 방식과 예측해보고 결과를 확인하는 수업 방식, 그리고 학생 스스로 수업에 적극적으로 참여하도록 유도한 점 등을 통하여 긍정적인 만족도를 보인 것을 알 수 있었다.

Appropriate Sowing Time and Planting Density to Improve Popcorn Production

  • Popcorn grains are consumed around 10,000 tons per year, in South Korea. It is consumed in amusement parks, movie theaters and snacks. The size of the popcorn processed market in Korea is estimated to be 3.6 billon won per year. So, the popcorn grain market has good prospects. On the other hand, domestic grain is at the level of 1 %, which is less domestic production than the size of the market. Maize Research Institute has developed domestic varieties in order to increase the use of domestically produced grains. The Oyrunpopcorn variety which was commonly distributed is a preferred cultivar because it has a good popping rate compared to imported grains. In addition, 'G-Popcom', 'Oyrun #2' and 'Kichan Popcorn' were developed, which diversified the choice of the farmers. Yield per unit area is important to improve farmers' income. At present, domestic grain production is traded at 5,000 won/kg, so if the yield improves, a high farmer^ income is expected. Therefore, this study compared the growth characteristics and yield according to the appropriate sowing time and plant density to improve the yield of domestically grown popcorn. We used 'Oryunpopcorn', for this research. Agronomic characteristics were compared by sowing times April 23, May 22 and June 22. The 100 seeds weight were 15.9g, 17.7g and 15.0g, respectively. Kernel weight planted in May 22 is the highest value. Yield per 10a were 414kg, 434kg and 296kg, respectively. It shows the yield planted in May 22 was higher than other trials. Therefore, the sowing time to increase the kernel weight and yield is appropriate for planting in mid-May. The number of plants in planting density trial was 5,700 plants, 4,700 plants and 4,000 plants in 10a area. Plant height at each trial were 221 cm, 214cm and 218cm, respectively. It was the highest height in 5,700 plants trials. The 100 kernel weight were 14.8g, 15.9g and 16.5g, respectively. Low planting density trial indicated high kernel weight. Yield per 10a was 415kg, 357kg and 314kg, respectively. It was higher at high density trial than other experimental plots. Therefore, appropriate sowing time was in mid-May and planting density was 5,700 plants/10a in order to increase the yield of popcorn in South Korea. This study will be useful for farmer's income to use the domestic cultivars.

Population and Interconversion of Neutral and Zwitterionic Forms of L-Alanine in Solution

  • The conformational study on neutral and zwitterionic L-alanines (N-Ala and Z-Ala, respectively) and the transition state (TS) for their interconversion is carried out using ab initio HF and density functional B3LYP methods with the self-consistent reaction field method in the gas phase and in solution. At both the HF and B3LYP levels of theory, the local minimum N1 for N-Ala is found to be most preferred in the gas phase and a weak asymmetric bifurcated hydrogen bond between the amino hydrogens and the carbonyl oxygen appears to play a role in stabilizing this conformation. The local minima N2a and N2b are found to be the second preferred conformations, which seem to be stabilized by a hydrogen bond between the amino nitrogen and the carboxylic hydrogen. The relative stability of the local minimum N2b is remarkably increased in solution than that in the gas phase. The local minimum N2b becomes more stable than the local minimum N2a in most of the solution. On the whole the relative free energies of Z-Ala and TS become more lowered, as the solvent polarity increases. N-Ala prevails over Z-Ala in aprotic solutions but Z-Ala is dominantly populated in ethanol and water. In aprotic solutions, the population of Z-Ala increases somewhat with the increase of solvent polarity. The barrier to Z-Ala-to-N-Ala interconversion increases on the whole with the increase of solvent polarity, which is caused by the increase of stability for Z-Ala.

자색고구마 스펀지케이크의 저장기간 변화에 따른 품질 특성 (Quality Characteristics of Sponge Cake Added with Purple Sweet Potato Depending on Various Shelf-Life)

  • The quality and characteristics of purple sweet potato sponge cake were studied with the addition of different proportions of purple sweet potato powder depending on storage period The pHs, heights, and weights of doughs were in the ranges of 6.3~6.5, 4.8~4.4 cm and 397~418 g, respectively. The sponge cake groups with the addition of different proportions of purple sweet potato powder showed significantly different characteristics in hardness, adhesiveness, cohesiveness, gumminess, and chewiness, according to texture profile analysis. The difference in colors of sponge cakes with addition with purple sweet potato revealed that L-value and b-value were significantly reduced but a-value especially increased according to the density. Using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), it was confirmed that the stoma size of purple sweet potato sponge cake become smaller and the stoma wall became thicker in proportion to the contents of purple sweet potato powder, which could result in an increased level of water content after a long period pf storage. According with the observations, water content remarkably increased after 4~6 days of storage and the ability to keep water content seemed to contribute to extention the shef-life of sponge cakes. In sensory evaluation, sponge cakes with high contents of purple sweet potato were preferred and cakes with the addition of 25% and 30% purple sweet potato powder was most preferred. It was expected that the shelf-life of purple sweet potato sponge cake was 4 days under the normal temperature.
