In case that we independently obtain orbital informations about the low earth satellites of foreign countries using radar systems, we develop the orbit determination algorithm for this purpose using a SGP4 model with an analytical orbit model and the extended Kalman filter with a real-time processing method. When the state vector is Keplerian orbital elements, singularity problems happen to compute partial derivative with respect to inclination and eccentricity orbit elements. To cope with this problem, we set state vector osculating to mean equinox and true equator cartesian elements with coordinate transformation. The state transition matrix and the covariance matrix are numerically computed using a SGP4 model. Observational measurements are the type of azimuth, elevation and range, filter process to each measurement in a lump. After analyzing performance of the developed orbit determination algorithm using TOPEX/POSEIDON POE(precision 0.bit Ephemeris), its position error has about 1 km. To be similar to performance of NORAD system that has up to 3km position accuracy during 7 days need to radar system performance that have accuracy within 0.1 degree for azimuth and elevation and 50m for range.

Integrating the Global Positioning System (GPS) and Inertial Navigation System (INS) sensor technologies using the precise GPS Carrier phase measurements is a methodology that has been widely applied in those application fields requiring accurate and reliable positioning and attitude determination; ranging from 'kinematic geodesy', to mobile mapping and imaging, to precise navigation. However, such integrated system may not fulfil the demanding performance requirements when the baseline length between reference and mobil user GPS receiver is grater than a few tens of kilometers. This is because their positioning/attitude determination is still very dependent on the errors of the GPS observations, so-called "baseline dependent errors". This limitation can be remedied by the integration of GPS and INS sensors, using multiple reference stations. Hence, in order to derive the GPS distance dependent errors, this research proposes measurement processing algorithms for multiple reference stations, such as a reference station ambiguity resolution procedure using linear combination techniques, a error estimation based on Kalman filter and a error interpolation. In addition, all the algorithms are evaluated by processing real observations and results are summarized in this paper.
It is important to identify geometries of fracture that act as a conduit of fluid flow for characterization of ground water flow in fractured rock. Fracture geometries control hydraulic conductivity and stream lines in a rock mass. However, we have difficulties to acquire whole geometric data of fractures in a field scale because of discontinuous distribution of outcrops and impossibility of continuous collecting of subsurface data. Therefore, it is needed to develop a method to describe whole feature of a target fracture geometry. This study suggests a new approach to develop a method to characterize on the whole feature of a target fracture geometry based on the Fourier transform. After sampling of specimens along a target fracture from borehole cores, effective frequencies among roughness components were selected by the Fourier transform on each specimen. Then, the selected effective frequencies were averaged on each frequency. Because the averaged spectrum includes all the frequency profiles of each specimen, it shows the representative components of the fracture roughness of the target fracture. The inverse Fourier transform is conducted to reconstruct an averaged whole roughness feature after low pass filtering. The reconstructed roughness feature also shows the representative roughness of the target subsurface fracture including the geometrical characteristics of each specimen. It also means that overall roughness feature by scaling up of a fracture. In order to identify the characteristics of permeability coefficients along the target fracture, fracture models were constructed based on the reconstructed roughness feature. The computation of permeability coefficient was performed by the homogenization analysis that can calculate accurate permeability coefficients with full consideration of fracture geometry. The results show a range between $10^{-4}{\;}and{\;}10^{-3}{\;}cm/sec$, indicating reasonable values of permeability coefficient along a large fracture. This approach will be effectively applied to the analysis of permeability characteristics along a large fracture as well as identification of the whole feature of a fracture in a field scale.

Purpose: The concern of improving the quality of life and reducing side effects related to cancer treatment has been a subject of interest in recent years with advances in cancer treatment techniques and increasing survival time. This study is an analysis of differing scattered dose to the contralateral breast using common different treatment techniques. Materials and Methods: Eclipse 10.0 (Varian, USA) based $30^{\circ}$ EDW (Enhanced dynamic wedge) plan, $15^{\circ}$ wedge plan, $30^{\circ}$ wedge plan, Open beam plan, FiF (field in field) plan were established using CT image of breast phantom which in our hospital. Each treatment plan were designed to exposure 400 cGy using CL-6EX (VARIAN, USA) and we measured scattered dose at 1 cm, 3 cm, 5 cm, 9 cm away from medial side of the phantom at 1 cm depth using ionization chamber (FC 65G, IBA). We carried out measurement by separating effect of medial tangential field and lateral tangential field and analyze. Results: The evaluation of scattered dose to contralateral breast, $30^{\circ}$ EDW plan, $15^{\circ}$ wedge plan, $30^{\circ}$ wedge plan, Open beam plan, FIF plan showed 6.55%, 4.72%, 2.79%, 2.33%, 1.87% about prescription dose of each treatment plan. The result of scattered dose measurement by separating effect of medial tangential field and lateral tangential field results were 4.94%, 3.33%, 1.55%, 1.17%, 0.77% about prescription dose at medial tangential field and 1.61%, 1.40%, 1.24%, 1.16%, 1.10% at lateral tangential field along with measured distance. Conclusion: In our experiment, FiF treatment technique generates minimum of scattered dose to contralateral breast which come from mainly phantom scatter factor. Whereas $30^{\circ}$ wedge plan generates maximum of scattered doses to contralateral breast and 3.3% of them was scattered from gantry head. The description of treatment planning system showed a loss of precision for a relatively low scatter dose region. Scattered dose out of Treatment radiation field is relatively lower than prescription dose but, in decision of radiation therapy, it cannot be ignored that doses to contralateral breast are related with probability of secondary cancer.

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effect of ethanol addition on efficacy of two-step total-etch adhesive under over-wet condition by measurement of remaining volatile part (RVP), microtensile bond strength (${\mu}TBS$), and degree of conversion (DC). Two-step total-etch adhesive, Optibond Solo Plus (Kerr, Orange, USA), was used. Experimental groups were divided into 8 groups: Group 1 (only 10 ${\mu}l$ adhesive), Group 2 (mixture of 3 ${\mu}l$ distilled water and 10 ${\mu}l$ adhesive), From Group 3 to Group 8 (mixture of 3 ${\mu}l$ distilled water, 10 ${\mu}l$ adhesive, and ethanol added in 1 ${\mu}l$ increment from 1 ${\mu}l$ to 6 ${\mu}l$). The mixtures were placed on slide glass and evaporated for 10 s, 30 s, and 60 s by air-drying. The weight of RVP was measured by precision weight. Same procedures were performed for ${\mu}TBS$ test and measurement of DC. The condition of mixed solution was observed under light microscope. For RVP weight, the weights of experimental groups except for group 1 decreased with the increase of air-drying time (p<0.05). The DC increased with the increase of air-drying time in only group 5 and 6 (p<0.05). The ${\mu}TBS$ increased with the increase of air-drying time in group only 5, 6, and 7 (p<0.05). The phase separation was examined and water blisters were diminished with the increase of air-drying time in group 5, 6, 7, and 8. Within the limits of this study, ethanol additionally applied to adhesive decreased RVP and increased DC and ${\mu}TBS$ under over-wet condition. It was shown that the addition of ethanol to two-step total-etch adhesive under over-wet condition would remove water and increase the efficacy of adhesive.

Alkalinity and total carbon contents were measured by acid neutralizing titration (ANT), back titration (BT), gravitational weighing (GW), non-dispersive infrared-total carbon (NDIR-TC) methods for assessing precision and accuracy of alkalinity and total carbon concentration in $CO_2$-rich water. Artificial $CO_2$-rich water(ACW: pH 6.3, alkalinity 68.8 meq/L, $HCO_3^-$ 2,235 mg/L) was used for comparing the measurements. When alkalinity measured in 0 hr, percent errors of all measurement were 0~12% and coefficient of variation were less than 4%. As the result of post-hoc analysis after repeated measure analysis of variance (RM-AMOVA), the differences between the pair of methods were not significant (within confidence level of 95%), which indicates that the alkalinity measured by any method could be accurate and precise when it measured just in time of sampling. In addition, alkalinity measured by ANT and NDIR-TC were not change after 24 and 48 hours open to atmosphere, which can be explained by conservative nature of alkalinity although $CO_2$ degas from ACW. On the other hand, alkalinity measured by BT and GW increased after 24 and 48 hours open to atmosphere, which was caused by relatively high concentration of measured total carbon and increasing pH. The comparison between geochemical modeling of $CO_2$ degassing and observed data showed that pH of observed ACW was higher than calculated pH. This can be happen when degassed $CO_2$ does not come out from the solution and/or exist in solution as $CO_{2(g)}$ bubble. In that case, $CO_{2(g)}$ bubble doesn't affect the pH and alkalinity. Thus alkalinity measured by ANT and NDIR-TC could not detect the $CO_2$ bubble although measured alkalinity was similar to the calculated alkalinity. Moreover, total carbon measured by ANT and NDIR-TC could be underestimated. Consequently, it is necessary to compare the alkalinity and total carbon data from various kind of methods and interpret very carefully. This study provide technical information of measurement of dissolve $CO_2$ from $CO_2$-rich water which could be natural analogue of geologic sequestration of $CO_2$.
The current performance evaluation of slope anchors qualitatively determines the physical bonding between the anchor head and ground as well as cracks or breakage of the anchor head. However, such performance evaluation does not measure these primary factors quantitatively. Therefore, the time-dependent management of the anchors is almost impossible. This study is an evaluation of the 3D numerical model by SfM which combines UAS images with terrestrial LiDAR to collect numerical data on the damage factors. It also utilizes the data for the quantitative maintenance of the anchor system once it is installed on slopes. The UAS 3D model, which often shows relatively low precision in the z-coordinate for vertical objects such as slopes, is combined with terrestrial LiDAR scan data to improve the accuracy of the z-coordinate measurement. After validating the system, a field test is conducted with ten anchors installed on a slope with arbitrarily damaged heads. The damages (such as cracks, breakages, and rotational displacements) are detected and numerically evaluated through the orthogonal projection of the measurement system. The results show that the introduced system at the resolution of 8K can detect cracks less than 0.3 mm in any aperture with an error range of 0.05 mm. Also, the system can successfully detect the volume of the damaged part, showing that the maximum damage area of the anchor head was within 3% of the original design guideline. Originally, the ground adhesion to the anchor head, where the z-coordinate is highly relevant, was almost impossible to measure with the UAS 3D numerical model alone because of its blind spots. However, by applying the combined system, elevation differences between the anchor bottom and the irregular ground surface was identified so that the average value at 20 various locations was calculated for the ground adhesion. Additionally, rotation angle and displacement of the anchor head less than 1" were detected. From the observations, the validity of the 3D numerical model can obtain quantitative data on anchor damage. Such data collection can potentially create a database that could be used as a fundamental resource for quantitative anchor damage evaluation in the future.

The estimation of the fish biomass density or the size of fish by means of the acoustic equipment is an important part in the quantitative assessment of fisheries resources. The precision of such estimates depend upon the target strength of fish and the accuracy to which the acoustic equipment has been calibrated. This paper examine the accuracy of the digital measurement system which is manufactured by way of trial in order to masure the target strength of fish, and calibrations of that system carry out with an ogive and a ellipsoid made of the aluminum and the epoxy, respectively. Furthermore, measurements of target strength for eight species of fish are made at 25, 50, 100 kHz. The accuracy of the digital measurement system is compared the theory with measurements on ogive and ellipsoid, and the agreement is reasonable. Result of establishments on the target strength to fish length and to fish weight regression obtained from the measurements are available to provide the methods of design for use in interpreting acoustic measurements of fish abundance on the experimented eight species.
Purpose: Although ${\alpha}$-fetoprotein is one of the most commonly used tumor markers in Korea, most of the radioimmunoassay kits for ${\alpha}$-fetoprotein have been imported from foreign countries. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the performance of a recently developed domestic immunoradiometric kit for ${\alpha}$-fetoprotein (Riakey AFP IRMA $CT^R$, Sin-Jin Medics, Seoul, Korea). Materials and Methods: We evaluated intra- and inter-assay precision, recovery rate, parallelism, and sensitivity of serum ${\alpha}$-fetoprotein measurement using Riakey AFP IRMA $CT^R$ kit. The values of ${\alpha}$-fetoprotein measured by Riakey AFP IRMA $CT^R$ kit were compared with those measured by two foreign commercial kits (${\alpha}$-fetoproteina of Radim and ${\alpha}$-feto.riabead of Abbott). Results: Intra-assay coefficients of variation on three different levels were 5.3% for 18.9 ng/ml, 3.4% for 133 ng/ml and 1.6% for 330 ng/ml. Inter-assay coefficients of variation were 9.7% for 20.9 ng/ml, 3.2% for 137 ng/ml and 4.1% for 330 ng/ml respectively. Recovery rate tests on all three different levels showed within $100{\pm}10%$. Parallelism was also good and the sensitivity was 0.63 ng/ml. There was strong correlation between the measurement of ${\alpha}$-fetoprotein by Riakey AFP IRMA $CT^R$ and that by two foreign commercial kits(r=0.98). Conclusion: The first Korean domestic immunoradiometric kit for ${\alpha}$-fetoprotein, Riakey AFP IRMA $CT^R$, performed well for clinical use.
To design more efficient agricultural machinery, the accurately measuring system among many other factors is essential. A light-beam oscillographic recorder is generally used in measuring dynamic strain but it is not compatible with the extremely high speed measuring system such as 1,000 m/s, also is susceptable to damage due to vibration while using the system in field. The recorder used light sensitive paper for strip chart recording. The reading and analysis of data from the strip charts is very cumbersome, errorneous and time consuming. A microcomputer was interfaced with A/D converter, microcomputer program was developed for measuring, system calibration was done and the strain generated from a cantilever beam vibrator was measured. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Microcomputer program was developed to perform strain measuring of agricultural machine elements and could be controled freely the measuring intervals, no. of channels and no. of data. The maximum measuring speed was $62{\mu}s$. 2. Calibration the system was performed with triangle wave generated from a function generator and checked by an oscilloscope. The sampled data were processed using HP 3000 minicomputer of Chungnam National University computer center the graphical results were triangle same as input wave and so the system have been out of phase distorsion and amplitude distorsion. 3. The strain generated from a cantilever beam vibrator which has free vibration period of 0.019 second were measured by the system controlled to have l.0 ms of time interval and its computer output showing vibration curve which is well filted to theoretical value. 4. Using microcomputer on measuring the strain of agricultural machine elements could not only save analyzing time and recording papers but also get excellent adaptation to field experiment, especially in measurement requiring high speed and good precision.
