Czochralski 법으로 성장시킨 실리콘 단결정 Wafer에서의 Gettering에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Gettering in Czochralski-grown Single Crystal Silicon Wafer)

  • The effects of intrinsic and extrinsic gettering on the formation of microdefects in the wafer and on the electrical performance at near-surfaces of three different oxygen-bearing Czochralski silicon single crystal wafers were investigated by varying the combinations of the pre-heat treatments and the phosphorus diffusion through the back-surface of the wafers. The wafers which had less than 10.9 ppma of oxygen formed no gettering zones irrespective of any pre-heat treatments, while the wafers which had more than 14.1 ppma of oxygen and were treated by Low+High pre-heat treatments generated the gettering zone comprising oxygen precipitates, staking faults, and dislocation loops. The effects of extrinsic gettering by phosphorus diffusion were evident in all samples such that the minority carrier lifetimes were increased and junction leakage currents were decreased. However, the total gettering effects among the different pre-heat treatments did not necessarily correspond to the gettering structure revealed by synchrotron radiation section topograph.

Water Absorption and Dimensional Stability of Heat-treated Fast-growing Hardwoods

  • A common problem with fast-growing hardwoods is dimensional instability that limits use of their wood. In this study, we investigated the effects of pre-drying methods, temperatures, and heating duration on the specific gravity, water absorption, and dimensional stability of three tropical fast-growing hardwoods, jabon (Neolamarckia cadamba Roxb.), sengon (Falcataria moluccana Miq.), and mangium (Acacia mangium Willd.). Wood samples were pre-dried by two methods (fan and oven at $40^{\circ}C$), and heat treatments were performed at three temperatures (120, 150, and $180^{\circ}C$) for two different time periods (2 and 6 hours). The specific gravity, water absorption, dimensional stability, and structural changes of the samples were evaluated. The results revealed that heat treatments slightly reduced the specific gravity of all three wood species. In addition, the heat treatments reduced water absorption and significantly improved dimensional stability of the samples. Oven pre-drying followed by heat treatment at $180^{\circ}C$ for 6 hours resulted in good physical improvement of jabon and sengon wood. Fan pre-drying followed by heat treatment at $180^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours improved the physical properties of mangium wood. The heat treatment shows a promising technique for improving the physical characteristic of fast growing hardwoods.

절단배추의 단기 저장에 대한 예열처리 효과 (Effects of pre-heat treatments on the quality of cut kimchi cabbages during short-term storage)

  • 절단 배추를 예열처리하고 LDPE 필름 포장하여 단기저장하면서 이화학적인 품질특성과 갈변도를 조사하였다. $40^{\circ}C$에서 1, 2, 4, 8시간동안 예열처리한 후 SDS-PAGE 법으로 단백질 밴드를 조사한 결과, 예열처리구에서 대조구에 비하여 HSP 밴드로 추정되는 60, 39, 33, 12 kDa 밴드가 강하게 나타났으며, 이 중 4시간 예열처리구(HS 4)가 가장 발현율이 높았으며 중량감소율도 적었다. 8주 동안 저장 중 예열처리한 절단배추의 중량감소율 및 적정산도는 거의 변화가 없었으며, 가용성 고형분 함량은 4시간 예열처리구가 가장 적게 감소하였다. 갈변도는 HS 4가 가장 적었다(Con>HS 1>HS 8>HS 2>HS 4, p<0.05). PPO활성은 저장 중 모든 구에서 지속적으로 증가하였으며, HS 4가 가장 낮았고 총페놀성 화합물은 모든 처리구에서 유사하게 감소하였다. 예열처리한 절단배추에서 HSP 밴드의 발현을 확인하였으며, 4시간 예열처리구의 단기 저장 효과가 가장 좋았다.

  • Development trend and current status were surveyed for pre-heat-treated high strength cold heading quality (CHQ) wire and it's forming technology. Spheroidizing, quenching, and tempering heat treatments are eliminated by adapting the pre-treated wire, which could reduce energy consumption rate and green house gas emission rate during produce parts requiring high strength. There are some challenging problems to expand application area such as enhancing forming tool life, and preventing delayed failure. Domestic research movement concerning the development and application of the new high strength wire was introduced.

A Study on the Wave Formation and Hair Damage Levels Relating to the Uses of Treatments for Heat Permanent Waves

  • Public interest in healthy hairs gets growing as damaged hairs are seen more frequently with the generalization of heat permanent waves. For this study, experiments have been conducted to understand the influences on the changes in physical and morphological features of wave forms and damaged hairs, by collecting virgin hairs from the women in their mid-20's, who had not experienced chemical applications, and by dividing the applications of heat perm hair treatments, PPT(for pre-treatment) and LPP(for post-treatment), into the pre-treatment, the post-treatment, the pre & post-treatment, and the non-treatment. For the wave formations, curl waves were investigated by the bare eyes using the pictures taken by a digital camera. For the comparison of physical features, the experiments of tensile strength and elongation were done and their mean values were found. For the observations of morphological features, the pictures were taken by SEM for comparison. As for the findings, regarding the curl wave shapes of hairs, the most even and elastic S curl was formed in the case of non-treatment. In the physical features, both of the tensile strength and elongation showed a decreasing tendency in line with the hair damage levels, and the case of the pre & post-treatment indicated the tendency most similar to the control group. In the morphological features of the cuticle, observed with an SEM, the pre-treatment showed the higher possibility of reducing the cuticle damages than the post-treatment did. LPP was found to play the role of protective membrane for the post-treatment, and the pre & post-treatment turned out to reduce most effectively the cuticle damages.

Al-Si-Mg계 합금의 열처리에 의한 미세조직과 경도 변화 (A Study on the Microstructure and Hardness of Al-Si-Mg Alloys upon Heat Treatments)

  • The effects of heat treatments in Al-Si-Mg alloys on the microstructure and hardness have been investigated by the optical microscope, scanning electron microscope(SEM), and Rockwell hardness tester. The materials of various compositions are melted in a vacuum induction furnace under argon atmosphere. Five different Al alloys are prepared from commercial purity aluminium, magnesium and Al-25Si alloy. Two types of aging treatments are performed: i) Isothermal aging of the specimens at $150^{\circ}C$, $170^{\circ}C$ and $190^{\circ}C$. ii) Pre-aging of the specimens at $60^{\circ}C$, $80^{\circ}C$ and $100^{\circ}C$, and followed by final-aging at $170^{\circ}C$ and $190^{\circ}C$. After the heat treatments, Rockwell hardness are measured with all the specimens.

Effect of Pre-Aging Conditions on Bake-Hardening Response of Al-0.4 wt%Mg-1.2 wt%Si-0.1 wt%Mn Alloy Sheets

  • Pre-aging heat treatment after solution heat treatment (SHT) of Al-0.4 wt%Mg-1.2 wt%Si-0.1 wt%Mn alloy sheets for auto-bodies was carried out to investigate the effect of pre-aging and its conditions on the bake-hardening response. Mechanical properties were evaluated by a tensile and Vickers hardness test. Microstructural observation was also performed using a transmission electron microscope (TEM). It was revealed that pre-aging treatments play a great role in the bake-hardening response. In addition, it was found that the sphere-shaped nanosized clusters that can directly transit to the needle-shaped ${\beta}$" phase during the paint-bake process, not being dissolved into the matrix, are formed at 343 K. The result, reveals that the dominant factor of the bake-hardening response is the pre-aging temperature rather than the pre-aging time.

온간액압성형특성에 미치는 압출제조공정과 열처리 조건의 영향 (Effect of process type and heat treatment conditions on warm hydroformability)

  • In this study, hydroformability and mechanical properties of pre- and post- heat treated Al6061 tubes at different extrusion type were investigated. For the investigation, as-extruded, full annealed and T6-treated Al6061 tubes at different extrusion type were prepared. To evaluate the hydroformability, uni-axial tensile test and free bulge test were performed at room temperature and $250^{\circ}C$. Also mechanical properties of hydroformed part at various pre- and post-heat treatments were estimated by tensile test. And the tensile test specimens were obtained from hexagonal prototype hydroformed tube at $250^{\circ}C$. As for the heat treatment, hydroformability of full annealed tube is 25% higher than that of extruded tube. The tensile strength and elongation were more than 330MPa and 12%, respectively, when hydroformed part was post-T6 treated after hydroforming of pre- full annealed tube. However, hydroformed part using T6 pre treated tube represents high strength and low elongation, 8%. Therefore, the T6 treatment after hydroforming for as-extruded tube is cost-effective. Hydroformability of Al6061 tube showed similar value for both extrusion types. But flow stress of seam tube showed $20{\sim}50MPa$ lower value.

ADI의 미세조직과 기계적 특성에 미치는 특수열처리 및 합금원소의 영향 (Effects of Special Heat Treatments and Alloying Elements on the Microstructures and Mechanical Charateristics of ADI)

  • The effects of heat treatments and alloying elements on the microstructure and mechanical charaterisitics of specially austempered ADIs containing alloying elements such as Cu, Mo and Ni were investigated. To compare with the effect of conventional and normal(CN) austempering treatment, two kinds of special austempering treatments which are those with pre-quenching and pre-heating were conducted. The hardness and uniaxial fatigue tests were carried out to evaluate the mechanical charateristics. The hardness of ADI treated by CN heat cycles was higher than those of other ADIs. Cu added ADI (Cu-ADI) tempered at 400 after austenitizing exhibited the highest fatigue life cycles. While austempering after prequenching makes the austenite with high carbon stable, which resulted in transformation to highly strengthened bainites from the carbon enriched austenite phases during tempering. The high carbon enriched banites is considered to improve the fatigue strength.

  • 본 연구에서는 AISI 강은 대부분 열처리후에 사용되는 고강도강으로 용접시 발생하는 높은 잔류응력 분포를 제거 또는 감소시키기 위해서 여러가지 방법이 사용된 다. 잔류응력 제거는 용접후 풀림처리를 하면 잔류응역이 제거된다. 그러나 풀림 처리 하기전에 용접부에 높은 잔류응력 제거는 용접후 풀림처리를 하면 잔류응력이 제 거된다. 그러나 풀림처리 하기전에 용접부에 높은 잔류응력에 의해 균열이 생성될 수 있으므로 용접시 높은 잔류응력이 생성되지 않도록 예열 및 후열처리를 필요로한 다. 그러므로 본 연구에서는 예열 및 후열이 잔류응력 분포에 어떠한 영향을 주는가 를 실험적인 방법에 의해 연구하였다.
