Purpose: This study was done to propose the developmental direction of study related to nursing practice education by grasping the trend of study in fundamental and clinical practice. Method: A total of 48 research articles which were published on nursing practice education in Korea from 2002 to 2009 were analyzed with structured analysis forms. Result: Most research was related to clinical practice (n=40). A high percentage of non-experimental research design was related to fundamental practice (75%) and clinical practice (65%). Qualitative research was only used in clinical practice (n=8). Nursing students were predominantly selected as an object of research in fundamental practice (n=6) and clinical practice (n=32). In addition, many of the areas in clinical practice were a general clinical setting without any classification of the specific area. The concepts of research in fundamental practice were related to competency in basic nursing skill and most concepts of research in clinical practice were associated with satisfaction, stress, experience, critical thinking and problem solving ability of the nursing student. Conclusion: There's something to be desired in nursing research related to instructor methods, teaching-learning methods and nursing education programs. Therefore, more specific and continuous research focused on these topics to improve clinical nursing competence of the nursing student is needed.
Objectives : The purpose of the is to investigate the teaching effectiveness of clinical practice instructors and the satisfaction level of dental hygiene majoring students in clinical practice training. Methods : Subjects were second and third grade 480 dental hygiene majoring students in Seoul and Gangwondo. Except 48 incomplete answers, 438 data were analyzed. Questionnaire consisted of general characteristics, teaching of clinical practice instructors, educational content, organization al skills, leadership, learning environment, evaluation skills and clinical practice satisfaction level. Results : 1. A strong positive correlation (r = 0.832) was found between teaching effectiveness and clinical practice satisfaction. A positive correlation more than 0.50 was found between the clinical practice satisfaction, encouragement and support for teaching effectiveness, educational contents, and leadership. 2. There were significant correlations between the encouragement and support (B = 0.209), educational content (B = 0.199), leadership ability (B = 0.257) and ability to create an environment (B = 0.084), evaluation ability (B = 0.083). Conclusions : Teaching effectiveness of the clinical practice instructors had influences on the clinical practice satisfaction. It is necessary to connect clinical practice instructions with satisfaction towards clinical practice to the students.
Background: 6-year College of Pharmacy curriculum had started in Korea, and the students in college of pharmacy are supposed to have student practice in the hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, pharmaceutical company and administration to experience the role of pharmacists in advance. However, despite Korean Association of Pharmacy Education provided its own teaching plan, most Pharmacy Schools and the hospital pharmacy have difficulty in performing the desirable student practice program because they seldom experienced it. So, we reported the student practice program in the hospital pharmacy conducted by Yonsei University College of Pharmacy prior to the other numerous universities and the evaluation of survey on the student pharmacy practice program. Method: Severance Hospital, Gangnam Severance Hospital and National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital took part in the student pharmacy practice program of Yonsei University. Students took 8-week pharmacy practice in Severance Hospital or Gangnam Severance Hospital plus 4-week pharmacy practice in National Health Insurance Service Ilsan Hospital. Also, students had once-a-week presentation class at school. A survey was conducted to evaluate the student practice program. Results: The presentation class was considerably helpful to share their own experiences at different practice sites in different hospitals, but there were some disadvantages that students could not experience the specific pharmacy practice site on the day of once-a-week presentation at school and so on. The results of the survey on the student practice program reported that students were satisfied with the overall practice program and presentation class at school. Also, they answered that the student practice program in the hospital pharmacy was significantly helpful for planning of the future career. Conclusion: Through the performance of the student practice program in Yonsei University, the adjustment of the student practice program in the hospital is planned to provide better experience of practice to the students and the results will be helpful for the student practice in the hospital of the other colleges of pharmacy.
The purpose of this study was to assess the correlation between attitude of Patient Safety Management(PSM) and practice of PSM and clinical practice satisfaction of nursing students, also identified how these factors attitude and practice of PSM influence on clinical practice satisfaction, eventually aimed to develop education programs to strengthen practice of PSM in nursing students. A descriptive design was used in the study. The multiple regression was used for the study to prove the factors how the attitude and practice of PSM were affected to the clinical practice satisfaction. The study subjects were 226 nursing students. The results show that attitude of PSM mean was 3.71, practice of PSM mean 3.97, the clinical practice satisfaction mean 3.31. Among the general characteristics, clinical practice satisfaction showed significant differences in satisfaction of major(F=5.10, p=.001), the existence of role model(t=2.64, p=.009). Significant positive correlation was found between attitude of PSM, practice of PSM and the clinical practice satisfaction. Practice of PSM(${\beta}=.39$) was shown as the most important factor to affect on the Satisfaction on clinical practice, also the explanation power of value for this study was found 41.1%. Consequently, this study indicates to develop the education program to strengthen practice of PSM. Also process the additional study for the nursing students in other areas.
The purpose of this study was to introduce major contents and examine the feminist social work practice. Feminist social work practice has never been introduced and applied to social work fields in Korea. By contrast, it has been developed and expanded in advanced Western countries. Feminist social work was emerged under the influence of worldwide Women's Movement on the end of 1960's. After the time, there were critics of existing social work practice by feminist, increase in interest of women's issues, development of principles and methods in feminist social work practice. Feminist social work practice brought, transformative change, application of gender perspectives to social work practice. Also, it offered the visions for 'integrative practice', accepted the alternative principles and methods, and enriched 'theory-practice'. As the result, feminist social work practice contributed to solving or alleviating the problems of many clients, especially women clients. These evidences suggest that feminist social work practice has the possibility of holding an position as a new alternative social work practice.
Purpose .This study aims to assess the influence factors on the level of satisfaction with hospital training and to provide basic data for more efficient hospital practice of students' public health administration . Methods . We have conducted a survey on students satisfaction with their hands on practice against 200 students in Busan, Kyeongnam and Kyungbook area, who have completed their practice in public health administration. We have identified the general characteristics of the target respondents, the current training status of the department for the hospital practice and training venue; also analyzed the characteristics composed of the apprentice student's attitude before the practice, satisfaction with the department training program and hospital for practice, as well as their practice at hospital. The general characteristics of the target respondents and clinic practice status at the hospital were measured in percentage and frequency analysis; the average and standard deviations of hospital size were also measured; and the correlations between satisfaction with the department, attitude towards the practice and satisfaction with the hospital were analyzed. Results . Most public health administration students experienced their practice at the hospital after the first semester on the $2^{nd}$year and they have received the foundation training for the practice. The survey allowed multiple responses and the results are as follows: medical terminology 49.5%, medical coordinator 36.7%, Hospital administration 26.5%, Health insurance 17.3%, and medical recording and practice 13.8% respectively. In terms of each individual student's attitude towards the practice at the hospital, the respondents answered as follows: I have completed the obligatory subjects for the practice before the practice 89.5%; I have been fully informed on the hospital for my practice. 74.5%; I responsibly practiced and worked with professionalism and sense of belonging to the hospital as a member of staff 90%; I have actively learned and adopted 95%; My knowledge and skills from the practice was relevant to the theory and practice from my course 83.5%. The findings of satisfaction by size of hospital were in order of a small clinic($3.24{\pm}0.63$), medium sized clinic($3.27{\pm}0.65$), hospital ($3.20{\pm}0.61$), and large sized comprehensive hospital ($2.93{\pm}0.74$). Consequently the satisfaction rate shows no significant difference by size of hospital. In relations between practice attitude and satisfaction with subject, the matter of acquiring information and fully understanding of the hospital for practice before practice(p=0.04), the matter of a sense of belonging and responsibility at hospital during practice(p=0.33). the matter of active adaptation attitude during practice (p=0.42), and the matter of correlations with school curriculum during practice(p=0.00) showed significant results. In relations between practice attitude and satisfaction with the hospital for practice, the matter of acquiring information and fully understanding of the hospital for practice before practice(p=0.01), the matter of a sense of belonging and responsibility at hospital during practice(p=0.04), and the matter of correlations with school curriculum during practice(p=0.00) showed significant results. Conclusion . The most essential subject for the practice in public health administration is medical terminology and there is no significance in satisfaction with the practice by size of hospital. Students were content with the hospital where they can experience as much as possible. Students content with their major show positive attitude towards the practice and so do those content with the hospital. Those with the positive attitude towards the practice show the high correlation of satisfaction with both the major and hospital. As a result, the satisfaction with the major is the significant attribute to the practice in the hospital.
This study was conducted to acquire the basic materials for effective field training to identify performance activities of emergency medical technology students. The method used in the study was a descriptive survey using a skill checklist. The subjects for the study were 43 emergency medical technology students who were 2nd grade in D college. The collected data were analyzed using the SPSS computer program, yielding frequencies and percentage. The results of study were as follows; 1. In 'emergency treatment skill', 26.6% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'ambulance practice' and 22.1% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'clinical practice'. 2. In 'airway management', 41.9% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'ambulance practice' and 14.1% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'clinical practice'. 3. In 'oxygen therapy', 52.8% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'ambulance practice' and 35.6% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'clinical practice'. 4. In 'ventilation skill', 17.8% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'ambulance practice' and 10.7% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'clinical practice'. 5. In 'vital sign check', 61.1% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'ambulance practice' and 56.3% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'clinical practice'. 6. In 'patient assessment', 40.7% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'ambulance practice' and 20.0% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'clinical practice'. 7. In 'basic life support(CPR)', 1.7% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'ambulance practice' and 11.9% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'clinical practice'. 8. In 'airway obstruction', 6.4% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'ambulance practice' and 1.1% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'clinical practice'. 9. In 'electrical therapy', 0.7% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'ambulance practice' and 20.0% of subjects are revealed as 'performed' in 'clinical practice'.
The purpose of this study is improvement of clinical practice education through examination of satisfaction on clinical practice of physical therapy students and grasping the factor have on effect on satisfaction of clinical practice. The students of the survey were 328 junior college students and 41 University students selected from 8 junior college and 2 University by questionnaire from Oct. 6 to Oct. 26, 1993. The collected data was analyzed by ANOVA, T-test, Multiple range test (Tukey, LSD, Duncan), principal factor analysis according to purpose of study. The results were as follows : The degree of satisfaction according to the item on clinical practice was low as 0.346 of a total 1.0. The degree of satisfaction of instruction(0.40) revealed to be high. Compared with the degree of satisfaction on contents(0.39), practice environment(0.38), satisfaction after practice(0.36), practice hours(0.35), personalrelations(0.33), problem of practice place(0.31), practice evaluation(0.25) revealed to be low. 1. The degree of satisfaction on clinical practice according to education system was lower junior college than University. 2. The degree of satisfaction on clinical practice according to volitional group and another intention group and another intention group was not different. 3. The degree of satisfaction on clinical practice according to the order of merit was not difference A group, B group, C group, but it of D group was low. 4. The degree of satisfaction on clinical practice according to the time of practise, the group that clinical enforce during a session was higher than the group that it enforce during vacation. 5. The degree of satisfaction on clinical practice according to clinical practice place was high in University hospital and general hospital, but was low in hospital and clinic. 6. The degree of satisfaction on clinical practice according to existence or non-existence of a hospital in affiliation was higher existence a hospital in affiliation group than non-existencea hospital in affiliation group. 7. The degree of satisfaction on clinical practice according to satisfaction of major was high in group of high satisfaction major.

PURPOSE: This study sought to investigate the change in the satisfaction levels of healthcare students regarding clinical practice before and after the coronavirus disease 19 (COVID-19) outbreak. METHODS: This was a longitudinal survey using a structured questionnaire. The first survey was conducted before the COVID-19 outbreak in April 2018, and the second survey was conducted after the outbreak from May to June 2022. The questionnaire used before and after COVID-19 had the same content and was categorized into the following six factors to determine clinical practice satisfaction: practice guidance, practice environment, practice time, practice evaluation, interpersonal relationships, and effectiveness of practice. Before the COVID-19 pandemic, a total of 153 healthcare students (average age: 22.43 ± 1.47 years old), participated from 4 departments: nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene. After COVID-19, 84 students (average age: 22.75 ± 2.87 years old), from the physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, and dental hygiene departments participated in the survey. RESULTS: Clinical practice satisfaction was evaluated considering the factors of practical guidance, practice environment, practice time, interpersonal relationships, and practical effects. It was observed that the satisfaction with clinical practice increased in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and dental hygiene students after COVID-19 compared to the situation before the outbreak. There was no difference seen in the practice time and practice evaluation factors in the occupational therapy department and in the practice time factor in the dental hygiene department before and after COVID. CONCLUSION: In clinical practice under the extremely constrained circumstances imposed by the COVID-19 pandemic, it seems that the emotional internal response is greater, and the satisfaction with clinical practice appears to be relatively higher than before the outbreak.
The purpose of this study is to find out whether there is a difference in achievement between blocked practice and interleaved practice according to the difference in domain and type of learning content in mathematics subject, and through this result, it is to confirm whether the effect of interleaved practice in mathematics learning is due to the 'Discriminative-contrast Hypothesis' or the 'Distributed-practice Hypothesis'. Although interleaved practice is more effective than blocked practice, previous studies have not shown consistent results regarding the cause. Therefore, in this study, 103 first-year middle school students were randomly assigned to blocked practice, interleaved practice, remote blocked practice, and remote interleaved practice groups had learning activities over 4 times. The results reveals that the effect of interleaved practice appeared in similar types in the same domain, but the effect of interleaved practice did not appear in different types in different domain. In addition, through this result, it was confirmed that the effect of interleaved practice was due to the 'Discriminative-contrast hypothesis' rather than the 'Distributed-practice hypothesis'. Further research topics were suggested after the issues on the research method and the findings were discussed.
