Analytical and Experimental Validation of Parasitic Components Influence in SiC MOSFET Three-Phase Grid-connected Inverter

  • With the development of renewable energy, grid-connected inverter technology has become an important research area. When compared with traditional silicon IGBT power devices, the silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET shows obvious advantages in terms of its high-power density, low power loss and high-efficiency power supply system. It is suggested that this technology is highly suitable for three-phase AC motors, renewable energy vehicles, aerospace and military power supplies, etc. This paper focuses on the SiC MOSFET behaviors that concern the parasitic component influence throughout the whole working process, which is based on a three-phase grid-connected inverter. A high-speed model of power switch devices is built and theoretically analyzed. Then the power loss is determined through experimental validation.

  • The design of a gate driver power supply for a three-phase inverter using a silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET. The requirements for the power supply circuit of the gate driver for the SiC MOSFET are investigated, and a flyback converter using multiple transformers is used to make the four isolated power supplies. The proposed method has the advantage of easily constructing the power supply circuit in a limited space as compared with a multi-output flyback converter using a single core. The power supply circuit for the three-phase SiC MOSFET inverter for driving an AC motor is designed and implemented. The operation and validity of the implemented circuit are verified through simulations and experiments.

  • This paper presents a new control scheme for a three-phase split DC-link capacitor inverter as an AC power supplies. The proposed control method can maintain the balanced sinusoidal output voltage under unbalanced and nonlinear load conditions. The validity of the control method has been verified by simulation results.

  • It is essential to evaluate harmonic characteristics of high speed train using power electronics equipment such as converter-driven motor drives, battery chargers and auxiliary power supplies. The purpose of this study is to measure and analyze harmonics characteristics of korea high speed train prototype. This paper presents result of harmonics measurement and analysis of harmonics characteristics in terms of loading, speed and operation mode.

  • Piezoelectric nanogenerators are energy harvesting device to convert a mechanical energy into an electric energy using nanostructured piezoelectric materials. This review summarizes works to date on piezoelectric nanogenerators, starting with a basic theory of piezoelectricity and working mechanism, and moving through the reports of numerous nanogenerators using nanorod arrays, flexible substrates and alternative materials. A sufficient power generated from nanogenerators suggests feasible applications for either power supplies or strain sensors of highly integratedl nano devices. Further development of nanogenerators holds promise for the development of self-powered implantable and wearable electronics.

  • 본 논문은 척추 건강관리기의 구동을 위한 가변형 전원 공급장치에 관한 논문이다. 본 시스템은 의료용 및 척추 마사지를 위한 장비로서 인체에 접촉하는 경우가 많고 높은 안전성을 요구하기 때문에 안정적인 전원 공급이 필요한 시스템이다. 본 시스템을 구동하기 위해서 100W의 전원이 필요하여 비교적 간단하고 절연타입의 Forward Type의 토폴로지를 적용하여 시스템에서 요구하는 전원을 공급하도록 회로를 설계 하였으며, 이를 시스템에 적용하여 성능을 검증하였다.

  • Heat and fluid flow in the motor block room of a motorized car is numerically simulated. The motorized car, composed of a motor block room and a passenger room, supplies additional Power to achieve the design speed. A motor block, a transformer, and a fan are equipped in the motor block room. Flow phenomena in the ducts on the motor block and power transformer are investigated. Also, the three dimensional heat and fluid flow in the motor block room is simulated to give a qualitative information of the flow characteristics.

  • This study provides review and improvement plans for the possible problems caused when the CV cable is used as a positive feeder line which supplies power from the DC HSCB (high-speed circuit breaker) to the catenariesin Seoul Metro which is using direct-current feeder method. In detail, this study contributes to stabilizing the power line by triggering a protective device by instantly detecting potential rise which happens when grounding fault occurs in non-grounding type CV cable shield.

  • In the station of the railway and the subway various illumination equipment and a general power equipment for a passenger convenience, the signal equipment and the communication equipment which is necessary to the train operation provided. At the all of like this equipment from the electric room which is established in each station by changing from high voltage to low voltage and it supplies from the illumination transformer, the power transformer and the signal transformer. If it supplies to the equipment from the high voltage to the low voltage, it must be established to contact protection device in between the high voltage coil and the low voltage coil. Also it must do the grounding faulting device at the low voltage lines, the earthing devices at apparatus for the protection of an electric shock and an electric fire by the electric relation law. Compared the related regulations between the facilities which require protective functions such as grounding fault or earthing in public utilities like subway stations, and the facilities which do not require line earthing or protective functions such as electricity supplied for signalling the train. Also, will describe a countermeasure for the accident from a grounding fault.
