Limitation of optical phase conjugation for implementation of wideband and long-haul WDM transmission system is symmetric distribution of optical power and local dispersion with respect to optical phase conjugator (OPC). This limitation forces OPC to place at midway of total transmission length. This paper shows that the limitation of optical phase conjugation is overcame by applying optimal net residual dispersion (NRD) into transmission links based in inline dispersion management (DM). Optimal NRD related with OPC position is decided by combination of precompensation and postcompensation. It is confirmed that optimal NRD depends on launch power of WDM channels and system performance criterion as well as OPC position. That is, in case of 1 dB eye opening penaty (EOP) as a performance criterion for WDM channels with 0 dBm launch power, it is confirmed that OPC is allowed to place at anywhere of 1000 km by applying best NRD related with exact OPC position into transmission links. And, it is confirmed that, under 3 dB EOP criterioin for WDM channels with 3 dBm launch power, OPC is allowed to place at 350~700 km by applying NRD between 100 ps/nm and 200 ps/nm into transmission links, though that NRD value is not best combination of precompensation and postcompensation.
This study aims (1) to identify whether real terms of imprisonment for sexual offenders against children are different between the first trial and appeal trial in 16 cases and (2) to assess which sentencing factors such as history of sexual crime of perpetrator, forgiveness of children, regretfulness of perpetrator, power of perpetrator, and relationship of perpetrator and victim influence sentencing period of imprisonment in the first and appeal trials, respectively. This study used cases which were prosecuted for sexual crimes against children since the protection act on the children and juveniles from sexual abuse was enacted in 2000. The target cases of the study include 8 first trials and 8 appeal cases which were appealed to the Supreme Court between 2000 and 2015. Result condition is the real term of imprisonment. Cause conditions include sentencing factors such as history of sexual crime, regretfulness, and power of perpetrator, forgiveness of child, and relationship between offender and victim. We employed Qualitative Comparative Analysis (QCA) for data analysis. We found that there are sentences in the first trial with lower terms than appeal trial regarding child sexual crimes. In addition, we found that (1) power of perpetrator and forgiveness of victim significantly influenced sentencing periods of imprisonment at levels of courts; (2) cause condition considered as comparatively more important in the first trial was regretfulness of perpetrator(but not in the appeal trial); and (3) relationship of perpetrator and child was not important in sentencing for sexual crime at both levels of trials.
In this study, with the data of Human Capital Corporate Panel(HCCP) we find that the explaining power of the new hiring rate of experienced regular workers is very strong and statistically significant as a main causal factor to the decreasing trend of investment on education and training for workers in corporates, which means a sign of weakening of the internal labor market. Possibility of wage penalty from switching jobs has been weakened considerably too. The effective alternative policy measures to the weakening or laxity of the internal labor markets and whereby followed reduction in investment on education and training for workers in corporates are construction of social system outside of individual corporates to upbring field-tailored manpower of high quality for young generations and small and medium sized enterprises.

In this paper, we investigated the effect of cross phase modulation(XPM) on compensation for WDM channel distortion due to chromatic dispersion, self phase modulation and XPM as a function of fiber dispersion coefficient and modulation format in 320 Gbps WDM systems. The considered WDM transmission system is based on mid-span spectral inversion(MSSI) compensation method, which has highly nonlinear dispersion shifted fiber(HNL-DSF) as nonlinear medium of optical phase conjugator (OPC) in the mid-way of total transmission line. We confirmed that the maximum channel input power resulting 1 dB eye opening penalty is reduced due to XPM effect on channel distortion, even if MSSI method was applied to WDM system. But, we confirmed that the effect of XPM on channel distortion becomes decrease as fiber dispersion coefficient of WDM system becomes larger. Futhermore, we confirmed that NRZ is better than RZ as a modulation format for similarly compensating overall WDM channels in WDM system with large fiber dispersion coefficient in order to minimize the effect of the XPM on channel distortion.

This paper newly analyzes the effect of the phase noise in the frequency synthesizer on the performance of SFH/M-NCFSK system by standard frequency deviation(equation omitted) when noncoherent FSK demodulation of the square-law detector is considered. We derive the SER in the SFH system and analyze the effect of phase noise on the SFH/M-NCFSK system performance according to the hopping frequency spacing (1/T$\_$h/) and the variation of the standard frequency deviation (equation omitted). The required SNR is about 13.4 dB to meet Ps=10$\^$-3/ when the standard frequency deviation is about 4.0 Hz and the hopping frequency spacing (1/T$\_$h/) in the SFH/2-NCFSK system is 30. So, there is about 2.4 dB power penalty than the phase noise-free system. If the hopping frequency spacing 1/T$\_$h/ is under 30, the error floor may happen and SER considerably grows up. We show that the analytic results closely match with the simulation results.
In this paper, the optimal values of optical phase conjugator (OPC) position and dispersion coefficients of fiber sections depending on the extinction ratio of WDM channel signals are numerically induced in WDM system with OPC used to compensate the distorted signals due to nonlinearities and chromatic dispersion. The considered WDM system consist of 16 channels with 40 Gbps data rate and each channel is assumed to be NRZ format with the extinction ration of 5 dB, 10 dB, or 20 dB. It is confirmed that the only one parameter among two considered parameters is used to effectively compensate overall WDM channels, and each optimal value of these parameters independent on the extinction ratio. That is, overall WDM channels are excellently transmitted within 2 dB power penalty whether by positioning OPC into 496 km or by setting dispersion coefficient difference between two fiber sections to 0.055 ps/nm/km, these optimal values are not dependence on the extinction ratio.

The packet error rates of an optical packet switching node with an optical address processor using an EDFA in order to detect M-ary correlation pulses at a fiber-optical delay line matched filter output have been evaluated. Effects of A PIN diode NEP, the gain and noise figure of the EDFA, and the bandwidth of an optical filter on the packet error rate of the switching node have been compared. There is negligible error rate change depending upon the variation of the PIN diode NEP and the EDFA gain. If the bandwidth of the optical filter is below 10 times of the data rate, there is no appreciable effect on the error rate. If the noise figure of the EDFA increases, however, the power penalty increases as much as the noise figure increment at all the bit rates and for address code sets considered in this work.

It is very important to get very high switching speed as well as low phase noise of frequency synthesizer in the OFDM/FH communication system. In this paper we compare the phase noises and switching speeds of the conventional PLL and digital hybrid PLL(DH-PLL) frequency synthesizer, also, we investigate the effect of phase noise on the performance of OFDM/FH communication system. DH-PLL has high switching speed property at the cost of circuit complexity and more power consumption. Unlike the conventional PLL in which the phase noise and switching speed have the trade off relationship in respect of loop filter bandwidth, DH-PLL frequency synthesizer can perform fast switching speed and low phase noise simultaneously. Under the condition of same hopping speed requirement, DH-PLL can achieve faster switching speed and lower SNR penalty compared with conventional PLL in the OFDM/FH communication system.

The numerical methods of finding the optimal position of optical phase conjugator (OPC) and the optimal fiber dispersions are proposed, which are able to effectively compensate overall channels in $8\times40$ Gbps WDM system with non zero - dispersion shifted fiber (NZ-DSF) as an optical fiber. And BER characteristics in the system with two induced optimal parameters are compared with those in the system with the currently used mid-span spectral inversion (MSSI) in order to confirm the availability of the proposed methods. It is confirmed that the applying two induced optimal parameters into WDM system contribute to reduce power penalty to 4 times than that of WDM system with the conventional MSSI.
A new structure of tunable wavelength converter based on XCM in SOA was tried and analyzed. This converter used single SOA and had very simple structure. In this paper, results were experimentally obtained and demonstrated. Pump signal was generated with NRZ $(PRBS\;2^{31}-1)$ and data rate 2.5 Gbps. WDM multi conveted signals showed more than 8.3 dB extinction ratio. For BER performance, all these converted signals had within 5.0 dB power penalty compared with the pump signal. With these results, we showed that this converter was suitable for 2.5 Gbps WDM multi-channel wavelength converting.
